We live in Ceggia a town not very far from Venice and famous for its popular Carnival wich is smaller compare with Venice but very very nice!

It takes about 45 minutes by train or car and about 1h by bus to get Venice. You can also reach Jesolo and Caorle Beaches in less than half an hour with a car or bus.
I got married in 2006 with Francesca and we live together in a house very close to the small city center.
In august 2009 our family became of three : we welcomed Jacopo in a hot hot day!
I work as software developer in a software house while Francesca is a physical terapist in a hospital. We love travelling around the world, eat at etnich restaurant and playing football(also Francesca do it in a female soccer league!) and beach-volley during the summer season.
We collect fridge magnets, love to cook, but while my secret ingredient is fantasy , Francesca follows the recipe step by step..so good mix.
Take a look here (sorry only in italian!) :

Can host max 2-3 people. No couch so you have to take with you your sleeping bag and airbeds!(we are now thinking about to buy a sofa bed)
Our street ends with a bycicle path so the whole area is very quite during day and night. We can provide towels and blankets if you need any.
In the garden during summer months you can sunbath or have dinner outside. It would be a great idea to dine together and have conversation.
If we are not busy we can show you around.
We live in a residencial area so you'll find what you need nearby where we live :
Supermarket,Backery,Coiffeur,Bar,Newsstand,Bus stop in 5 min. by feet.
Take away pizza and kebab, landry, pastry shop, pizzeria & restaurants, banks and bancomat service, shoes and clothes shops, pharmacy in 10 min. by feet.
Train station to get Venice or Trieste in 15 min. by feet.
CouchSurfing Experience
We always had beautiful experience and met nice people!
Surfed :
1.Carofamily - Mainz Germany
2.Mario & Olga - Bugibba Malta
Hosted :
1.Mario & Olga from Bugibba Malta
2.Angela & Lorenzo from Los Angeles USA
We met with other Csurfers in the area and was great! We spent together only the time for a drink but it was a great experience. Hope to meet them as soon as possible again.
Interests
I (Ivan) love aircrafts (when I book an air ticket I don't look only for the best price..but also for the plane model will bring me at destination...hope to fly the A380 as soon as possible), geography (since I was I child I played my games with atlas and maps!), world politic and generally everithing happens around me.Backpacker's travel philosophy I think is the best : we both like very much visit places without booking hotels or accomodations, just a lonely planet guide in our pocket and we are ready to go.
Francesca loves everithing about "calcetto".. (soccer) as she used to play in a female soccer team (before Jacopo's birth..'cause now she's at home doing the best mummy I know...).She likes to watch soccer and as every girl she loves shopping! She could buy 2/3 bags or shoes per day!!!!
Philosophy
I think we live in a world where everyone should be happy and in peace..I know it's not like that but I also think everyone can do his part.Travel is the best way to understand the differences between us and other people. Is the way to destroy walls and misunderstanding. So don't wait any more..pack your baggages and go!
Music, Movies, Books
I like movies talking about events happened in the world or social problems. In my spare time I read a lot of newspapers (italian and foreigners) and books also.
Favourite book : "Il Cacciatore di Aquiloni" (The Kite Runner, Khaled Hosseini),"Un Indovino mi disse" and "Un altro giro di Giostra", Tiziano Terzani.
Types of People I enjoy
Open-minded people who want to discover new places, see the real side of countries and people who likes conversations.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share with you all my travels experience helping you finding very cheap airline's tickets for your destinations using the net.
One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done
1. the birth of my son (absolutely fantastic!)
2. to swim with sharks in French Polynesia!
3. to jump from an high rock into blue croatian sea!
4. the Oia sunset in Santorini!
5. to sleep in "Casa Particular" in Cuba, discovering the real side of the "Isla Grande"
6. walking on Piz Boè 3152 mt with a fantastic view of Marmolada - Dolomites
7. Bath in the "Vasque" in South Corse
8. Rafting in the Soca Valley - Slovenja
Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org Project
I think Couchsurfing is a fantastic idea to meet people and different cultures and a perfect way to travel without much money!Of course is the fastest way to create new friendships.
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.
Ivan & Fra are so nice parents!! They are a funny and friendly family.. and a little crazy, too.. and I like it so much!;) with them you feel like at home!
They are able to give a strong feeling of peace, love and curiosity... they are the couple I would like to be one day!!! She is strong and he is outgoing... basically the opposite of what my couple life has always been.. they are fun and talkative.
Thank you for coming to the CS meeting with baby Jacopo!!!You are there to show how to be modern parents!!!
Guys! Your coming to the meeting was highly appreciated. We had a chance to meet small Jacopo as well. It seems that it's him a "number one host" in the family! :) Well, it'll be a great pleasure to meet you again to listen amazing stories of your endless travel experience. Hugs and alla prossima!
Fra and Ivan look like the modern version of the couple popped out of a happy fairy tale! Ivan is sociable and open minded. A real professionist in finding out tricks for low cost travels. Wide culture and skill in learning languages make him confortable anywhere. Fra is a real nice girl, with sunny and determined character.Just keep in mind that she is a strict physiotherapist and if you are cought sitting in a wrong position bending your back forward you'll be warned with an acute "Posturati!!!" What's more important is that Jacopo has just joined them: goooood job mum and dad!But they don't mean to give up travelling: Ivan is already aiming at Australia ;-)
i really found his profile intresting, i wrote him and he replied. he is so kind and now i feel that we have 2 nice friends even far from us. really hope to see u soon

Positive
Ivan & Francesca were the most wonderful hosts: generous and funny and very helpful! They are so happy and in love, it is very inspiring! Even though they are preparing for their first child, they opened their home to us and made us feel like part of their family. I really hope that they will bring Bambino Valentino to Los Angeles!
Ivan and Francescha are absolutely incredible. They are fun, friendly, generous, patient (especially with our attempts to learn Italian!). Their warmth and hospitality made our visit to Italy so much more than we ever expected. I have no doubt that we will keep in touch as friends, and see each other again in the not-too-distant future! Hopefully they will come to California soon, but if not, we'll certainly be back in Italy again!
Our first carnival surfers - and they came from venice! We had a lot of fun together, I liked to have my home full of people, as did the kids. We'll see each other in venice for sure!
Ivan and his lovely wife Francesca where a pleasure to host. Well behaved kids. OOops. It was nice having both of you around. I am thinking of Rum Baba, Italian style writing this. Hope to see you again.
Now that we met again, this time with them hosting us, what we said previously about them is confirmed. Ivan and Francesca are a lovely, warm hearted, couple.
