Emotional, Creative, Excessive, Spontaneous, Curious, I am a free spirit, a new soul, a nomadic traveler, a gypsy folk musician who needs to connect with the Earth and its people.
I left Quebec City in July 2006, after quitting my teaching job, giving up my dog and selling all my belongings. I traveled and lived abroad for 2 and a half years. Then I found Saskatoon, in the middle of the Canadian Prairies, where the sense of community is strong and where the land of living skies and its people are powerful, where I connected with myself and found what I was put on Earth for, where I felt happy and grounded more than ever. After settling down for 1 year, discovering song writing and singing to a higher level and making a mini album (Manifest some Love), I toured a little of our big canadian country for 3 weeks with other Prairie musicians. In August 2009, I decided to leave Canada and explore the Western American States and Baja California, Mexico for 8 months. Then last year, it was South America for 5 months to learn Spanish and get ready to record another music project. Touring here and there and now back in Saskatoon for the year, I am currently sub-teaching in the french immersion schools and preparing to release my second album in March 2012! Playing music everywhere in town with my band and organizing my music career and future tours in the Spring... I am fairly busy but i still want to host when i can!
How I Participate in CS
I have been a member of CS since April 20th 2006 and only a couple of profiles were deleted in the big crash, unfortunately so was mine, even though I was an active member! I have been a Nomadic Ambassador for more than 2 years now. I love greeting new members and help them start their couchsurfing adventure! I also quite enjoy meeting members and organizing gatherings and making CS more active in the cities or towns I pass by or live in. I love to surf couches, share travel stories and host in my RV or when I have a house and meet or tour those crazy couchsurfers all over the world! What's your story???

Types of People I enjoy
We learn from every entity, according to our momentum of awareness, despite their form, their energy, their wisdom. I have learned recently to focus on similarities when differences and judgments obstruct our objective view on people, spirits, animals, or things. Acceptance of our differences, crossing paths and sharing journeys for an undetermined time without knowing the future, letting go of the past and living the moment is important, cause that's all we have. It is a hard task, but our level of energy, sense of community and collectivity through all that will bring us together.
It's all about sharing!!! Because of Couchsurfing, I crossed path with some people who radically changed my life. The journey is only starting...
Teach, Learn, Share
we will share, teach and learn... What? I don't know. Let's connect first and see what happens!
One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done
*Been to Burning Man, Black Rock City, Nevada, U.S.A. and survived the dust storms... 4 years in a row!
*Hitchhiked more than 75 000 km in many different countries!
*Swam in a lake infested by crocodiles in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India.
*Volunteered in a AIDS center in Puna, India.
*Admired the immensity of the wonderful Canadian Prairies and smiled, naively...
*Volunteered in an orphanage in Riosuccio, Colombia, teaching theatre to lovely kids...
*Explored the Amazonian Jungle, near Iquitos, Peru, seen some amazing animals and even hold an albinos baby sloth!
Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org Project
"Isn't it, out of the blue, out of the blue,
Those meetings, when you need something new.
Isn't it, out of the blue, out of the blue,
Those feelings, when you meet someone new.
A strong connection,
Ephemeral, random,
We're here for a reason,
That is meant to happen.
Out of nowhere,
When we're unaware..."
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.
Malika was a kinda and generous host. Although we only stayed one night, we were able to share and discuss music and felt very comfortable there! I hope we meet again down the road and play some music together!!!
Malika is a wonderful person full of so much life and energy. Her amazing stories will fill up your day with wonder, and her voice will fill your soul with rays of positivity. A true musician with a passion for what she does, always moving forward and spreading her gift to all of those around her. You would be wise to let this positive spirited soul into your homes and into your lives! :D
Kiki is amazing!!! She made me feel so welcome at Burning Man Couch Burners camp and we got to bar tend together at the meat & greet party. I would beg her to stay with me if she would come visit in San Diego. Come to San Diego and we could host a CS Burning Man benefit for the CB Burning Man camp. BTW, You are more then welcome to surf my couch :)
I discovered Malika and her music when she came in Quebec City for a show. I didn't miss one since then ! She is a true musician and traveller. It's always a pleasure to listen to her when come to Quebec City :)
Malika was very artistic, put hemp wraps in my wifes hair, played music and very kind.

Positive
Malika is truly a free spirit with a heart of gold (not to mention an awesome singing voice!). I'm so glad I had the chance to meet and get to know her even a little bit. I hope to get to know you better when I see you next year, my burner friend!
Kiki is great! I can't believe I missed every time you were singing, dustcheck on that one then. You were awesome at camp, many thanks to you, and hope to see you soon on a tour through Europe. You are welcome in NL anytime!
Meeting Malika and her friends made out of visit in Saskatoon an unforgettable experience.
When she sings, plays guitar or harmonica, all the place is permeated by positive energy, feeling that life is beautiful.
She plays from heart, shares good mood as well as take spleen from her friends on her self. She lives at full throttle and she is truly. :)
