We had a great time in Paris couchsurfing at Julien's place. We went to a couchsurfing party in Paris with him too which was pretty cool, lots of nice people. It was our first time couchsurfing and we really enjoyed it

 

Julien hosted me for half a week and made me feel very welcome. He was very generous and was happy to show me some of the Parisian nightlife. I had a great time, whether we were knocking down a few pints or chilling back at his apartment playing video games. He was able to show me a side of Paris I wouldn't have seen just as a tourist, for which I am very thankful. I feel he really exemplifies the ideals of Couchsurfing.

Julien took us in for 3 nights at very short notice which we really appreciated. He showed us all the great sites to see in Paris and was very helpful with all our questions about the city. Thanks for everything Julien.

Although it is definitely the shortest couchsurfing experience I have ever had, it is one that goes to show how great the indivduals are within the Couchsurfing community.

After arriving in Paris a day earlier than expected, I went to Lions for the weekly Paris CS meetup which I had just found out a few minutes before the event was supposed to begin. There I ran into Julien who very very kindly opened up his already full flat and let me stay the night. I was only able to stay for about five hours before having to meet my friend at the airport but it made a world of difference being able to get some z's in before hitchiking across France the next day.

Thank you very much for your kindness and spontaneity Julien, I hope we will meet again in the future :)

Julien was a great guest and was nice enough to cook us dinner during his stay. He's also a skilled zombie hunter, and in case of an attack he's the guy to have around.

Julien was a great host. His apartment was very accommodating with a great environment. He possesses great knowledge about Paris and showed me around the city on Bastille Day.

Julien is a nice guy and friendly. Hosted him for 2 days had good conversation about CS. It was nice to share the ideas and views of CS with experienced senior member like Julien. Although he was tired after watching Blur concert in Hyde park but still he was up for picnic and cinema and wandering London.

Julien was a great host. He was very trusting and welcoming and made me feel at home in his home immediately. He invited me to a CS event when I first got there that was a ton of a fun and great to meet people. Julien has a great sense of a humor and I enjoyed talking with him at night. Would definitely recommend.

Julien is a god! Or, to put it right, he's the Spaghetti Flying Monster!! He did everything to make us feel at home, let us stayed for a week in his small but cozy apartment, gave us useful recommendations to better enjoy Paris, made us envious for his liquor collection and, if that wouldn't be enough, helped my girlfriend surprise me with a postcard. He's a great, laid-back guy. And, on top of all, he reads, listens and watches amazing stuff! I could have stayed much more with him, too bad we had to move on with our trip.

Julien went all the way from Paris to Luxembourg just to attend our meeting. If that's not a dedicated ambassador, I don't know what is!

Julien hosted us for 8 days overall. It was a very genuine French experience that included (to mention a few):
1) Quebec party;
2) Driving outside of Paris;
3) Spending a night at a real French farm;
4) A picnic over the Seine;
5) Teaching me to play a Tarot cards game;
6) Exploring Chateau de La Roche-Guyon;
7) A "bush" walk in the chateau gardens with a lot of stinging nettle;
8) Damaging some French cultural inheritance while climbing the chateau fence, sorry France!!
9) Introducing me to The Rocky Horror Picture Show - that was great, thanks so much!! and et cetera..
All the way Julien was introducing me to a lot of his amazing friends, cooked for me and gave me some good travel tips. He's a friendly, easy-going person with an unusual sense of humour! Julien shared everything in his home without reservation. He was the perfect combination of laid back but thoughtful and helpful. He had to work days while we were at his home but took us to two CS picnics and showed us a nice section of town one evening. We also shared conversation and some new (American) movies that we had not seen before. Thanks Julien!

Occasionally met Julien during my time in Paris. Almost two years later he came to Mainz with some friends and surfed my place. Although I was very busy this weekend, I dont regret to have hosted him and at the end would have enjoyed if he stayed even longer.

Julien is great! He found me searching for a place on the paris emergency CS group and offered his house to a friend and myself. Upon arriving, he helped us get settled, got us some lunch, helped us get bus tickets and then gave us a dope 5 hour tour of Paris! Truly an awesome guy, this is what CS is all about!

 

He's quite a good pool player and Maitrank and bier drinker, we had lots of fun in Luxembourg and I hope to meet with him soon again !

 

We were very lucky that we could stay our time in Paris (1st time couchsurfing :-) with Julien. He showed us a handful of nice bars and was a good compagnion to us.

He told me so much about the Paris CS Organisation. I did too, but I noticed I talked about Martine almost the whole time (damn, I must like that woman ...).

We went eating in a typical brasserie. He showed me the highlights of Paris at night. I felt sorry afterwards I didn't brought my camera then.

When there were more surfers, we went out multiple times during that week. I've witnessed some events that brighten up the Paris CS life.

The last day I went see his birthplace. I couldn't help it laughing all the time when I saw that everyone is dressed up all the time. I just imagine myself in Bruges doing the same ...

Great host, great city, great atmosphere.

 

I enjoyed my stay with Julien, he showed me and the other 2 CSers great hospitality, allowing us to take over his living room, use his kitchen, as well as taking us out to meet his friends and see the nocturnal lights in Paris...

We met on the CS BBQ Paris and I needed couch. Without hesitating he offered me a couch and I felt very welcome:) Julien is very relaxed!

Julien is one these crazy mother fuckers with who you can't miss an eve...nothin but fun!

I really like his frame of mind, he is very funny and enthusiastic for all kind of projects and parties you will propose.

I was stuck without a couch for a night and Julien helped me out. He was very helpful and positive. Too bad I couldn't make it to the CS quiz night at Lions pub.

 

I was looking for a couch in Paris during the holidays season, and Guillaume (PICOS38) introduced me to Julien (who lives in Puteaux, next to Paris). His apartment is small but the couch very comfortable. The closest Metro station is just few minutes away, on line 1 that crosses Paris West to East, and all the other lines - very convenient!

Julien was already hosting Elliot, and together, we had a great time! Julien is very funny, easy going and open-minded. I spent a wonderful time, thank you Julien and Elliot!

 

A guy that can be all in one: crazy, I mean real crazy and serious, responsible and acting like a child, wise but still a party animal, cultivated but playful. Julien has so many sides, that he makes you want to approach and learn more about him! He's definitely not a boring person, on the contrary, it's real fun to have him around!

Nice guy. Very easy going host. Will make you feel at home in his home. Showed us a fun time in Paris.

I met Julien at the Lions pub during the CS quizz session. I really like his sense of humour and his way of answering the Pablo's quizz questions! Pretty funny!

 

Took me a while (sorry!... I guess I really an that good at procrastinating!), but I really should leave a reference for Julien. He's one of those great, reliable, uncomplicated, laid-back and fun CS people who make this site what it is. I stayed at his place for several days just as I moved to Paris, which was incredibly helpful. His "bachelor pad" should really be a Paris CS landmark and his couch is one of the busiest in town... he's always up for helping a stranded traveler, offering a place to crash, some good conversation, a beer, having a lazy afternoon in front of the TV or a crazy night on the town. Been a pleasure getting to know Julien and looking forward to many more fun times around Paris!

First we met in Paris, then one week later by coincidence in Budapest. We had a great evening together with some friends at a pub. He created the best hungarian coctail, first we were shocked by the idea mixing uniqum and beer together, but Julien proofed the oposite:)He is smart a real gentleman, and it is good to talk with him. I stayed for two days at Julien's place. It was a part of my "Euro Trip". This guy is a genius of CouchSurfing project. We had a great conversation. Very nice, easygoing, free minded person. Thank You Julien !!!

 

His BDay in 2008 is the best and the craziest CS parties I ever went to. And I did not know him at the time when I arrived nor when I left.
Since ten I am glad I got the chance to know better each other. I appreciate him a lot and he is one of my drinking and exploring buddies.

I met Julien during the CS Greek Summercamp in Naxos...

Along these four days, we had time for many different experiences, from an epic trip by bike around the island to some waterguns killing party until the end of the night (or the beginning of the day, I don't really remember... by the way what did I do this night? For sure, I killed him at least 4 times with my watergun...).

Oh, I remember something: he was an extremely efficient support in our singing of the French hymn (but was it really him? Don't remember...)

He's a great mate for such a trip, somebody responsible but also fun at the same time. I'm truly looking forward to meet him again.

Julian was a great host, and he hosted me at the last minute, which was awesome! If you're looking for an easygoing host and the best parties in Paris, Julian is the guy to see!

 

It was easy to get along with Julien as he has very good humor and seems to be able to adjust to any situation. And he did not ruin the French reputation of being a good wine conneissuer...:) I hope to meet up again in France soon, and don't forget to have some Nespresso coffee if I visit! ;-)

It was a wonderful experience staying at Julien's house. He was so warm and welcoming, and he showed us (me and my boyfriend Gilad) so many amazing things in Paris that we would never have experienced without him. I met Julien at the Athens pre-meeting for Naxos Summer Camping 2008 and we met again in Naxos, a few days later.We shared a nice conversation en francais, bien sur! about many issues.Certainly, I would like to meet him again, be it in Athens or in Paris and continue our conversation.A la prochaine!

This loveable bastard had the most amazing ATV and was challeging me and my toy ATV for races!!!! We had loads of fun on those things and on our nights out. He's the pop up master. Popping up where the fun is happening and sleeping wherever he pleases. Benches, floor. Experience Julien Kubryk! :)

Julien let my mother and me stay at his place in Paris for a few days in august 08. He was just a fantastic host! Alway ready to help, with nice tips and knowledge about his city and somebody whom you could talk about everything! I didn't have chance to talk to Julien till motorbike tour but as long as i start to know him I understood that i miss to chance of knowing him earlier.
He is so friendly, relax, cool and kind. We had a very nice dinner and after beach party enjoyed naxos parties till morning with the other survivers..I had great fun my friend and hope to meet you again soon.

even though my understanding of french is spotty i can tell that this guy is hilarious ın all languages. i had a great time partying with him in greece and i highly recommend his company to anyone that isnt a moron

Julien is an ultra easy-going kind of person. I liked how he refused to program and organize ahead on his vacation and just go along with the day. I really enjoyed meeting him, and will most probably look him up when I travel through France. Good luck, Julien!

Julien is a very pleasant person to talk and drive with, no matter what hour and under which conditions. When I'll come to Paris I'll surely contact him first. Staying up late is absolutely no problem for him; he can sleep anywhere:P

Julien is really good at snoring so if you happen to end up camping with him take earplugs. He always seemed to have a bottle of Ouzo handy which was nice. Also he seems to be quite comfortable to sleep anywhere. Maybe too much Ouzo? hahah See you in Paris Mr Ambassador.

He gave me a ride on a strange motorbike with 4 wheels:) to find my lost motorbike among the goats in the arid greek mountains:) ah i also borrowed his hat for almost all the duration of the camp! great guy!

 

OK, Julien is a crazy ATV driver too! So we got on well together during our ATV tour!! ;) He's also a good drinking pal! Like said Matt : he always had a bottle of Ouzo handy! Julien is always ready to have loads of fun and be crazy. He's also a responsible person. We spent masses of time together at the Greek Summer camp.

I had a nice time staying at Juliens place. I met him on every Party we went to but also had a good time hanging around at his place. You shouldn't surf his couch if you have an alcohol problem though :D

We had a great time in Paris, went to a Jazzclub and discussed about nearly everything... from stereotypes to god and the world..

we needed a place to stay in paris after the 888project, and he said spontaneously yes although he had 2 couchsurfer in his place. On one evening he invided us to a boot party at the seine. That was really exciting. although he has to work he finds always time to do something with us.

Julien is an great person and very obliging. He shows the real time of young parisien people ore real parisien students and he nows his town a lot. So he had helped us a lot to find the right way in Paris.

Julien is an awesome CS ambassador for Paris and I even claim that he's the most freakin' involved moderator ever (and if I say that, trust me ;o). I see him very often in the CS meetings organized in Paris, not to say in all, and after a year, I can tell you that he's a trustworthy friend, a nice gentleman (except when he drinks too much when he wanna get married to everybody at the same time), and above all a awesome host!

I do have tons of delightful memories of parties together with even some unforgettable (at least for me ;o) videos on Youtube!

A great guy you would like to have as a friend or a host when you travel to Paris ...

Julien is an extremly friendly guy whom I had the pleasure to stay at for two nights. The plan was to stay for four nights But some missunderstanding between me and my sister I had to go and meet up with her two days earlier. But I hope I get the chance to visit Julien again or if he ever comes by Stockholm I hope to be able to host him and maybe show him around some in our underground!

A better host, you will not find. Julien showed my girl-friend and I an amazing time (dragonball-Zed, ya ya ya!!!). I can't say enough or him, I can't wait to meet again and have more amazing experiences.

Julien helped me a lot since the momment I interrupted him when he was playing at the computer! :) He is polite, open minded, funny and helpful host. He opened his home to me and make me feel like a flatmate (perhaps an annoying one ... snoring or ordering my baggage at night). Moreover he introduced me to his couchsurfing friends in a birthday party like if I were living in Paris all my life. Always ready for the party and for helping, he made me understand the meaning of being ambassador. Finally, don't forget to ask him for his night adventures ... hehe

I have talked to Julien a few times at cs events. He has always been friendly. He offered to host me, if I needed it, which was very nice. We shared one funny night where I made the mistake of telling him he could slap me. After this, I learned that Parisians love to slap. A small domino effect ensued. See you at the next event!

He is awesome Parisian. ^^ He moved me with his kindness, humor... We spent many times together on CS picnic, party, bar... I never forget the time with him. ^_________^//

That was my first couchsurfing experience and I can just say that it was awesome! Julien is the best host you can imagine! He goes out with you (and drinks :p), you can talk to him, you can have a nice little gamble on the PS3 with him and do everything you like! After 2 days in his house I felt like being home in the house of a friend that I had known for a very long time! Thank you very much Julien for this excellent experience!

Julien think that I'm following him everywhere he go but I'm sure that he's the one who follow me. Never seen a great person like him in CS. He welcomed me very well... when he saw me trhowing candies in is neighbor windows. We had realy good time in Paris and Besancon too and Aix as well, and maybe Nice?? :) And i'm surely going to meet him again when I'll take my return flight in Paris.

I met Julien in Paris for a quizz but got to know him little better during the French abassadors meeting. What can I say about him? Crazy, crazy, hum & crazy! ;D But he's also a great man, very sympathetic!

 

I met Julien at the french amb meeting in Aix. First I saw a nice and discreet guy, then I the jokes came! Great person, great humour, easy to be around! 'til next time!

 

It's a pleasure to meet Julien again also if he smoke on my nose... but we was outside so I have no right to complain. I love him because like me he said what he think. Hope to C U in Nantes my friend.

Julien hosted us for 7 nights in total, and it was great to spend time with this crazy frenchman... he has a wicked sense of humour, and is always ready for a drink and a good time. Definately an asset to CS.... Thanks heaps Julien, and hope to see you again!

 

This funny guy is most of the time ready for a drink or going out. Doesn't take himself too seriously and has always good rotten jokes to launch and makes me having fun ! That's why we autoproclamated founders of the "comité des blagues moisies"© ("Parisian comitee for rotten jokes").
But overall, he is definitely one of the most helpful guy and better host in Paris.

Moreover as we share almost the same birthday, we had the pleasure to organize together the best birthday party !

Julien is from the first sight very calm person. After some beers and shots he will help you doing some nice mess;) in your dormitory. So it's great he can find himself in each situation.

I only stayed on Juliens couch for a couple of nights but its obvious he always tries his best to be a good host and to make his surfers comfortable, as well as to have a good time. I highly recommend Julien to anyone going to Paris.

Julien and me know each other via meetings in and outside of Paris. We discovered together a part of the north of France during our time in Lille.
What can I say about him?
Funny (don't take his jokes too serious), always open to party and a good car driver (thanks a lot for driving us so carefully to Lille)!! All in all a person u can't miss!

Yeh! for my longest couchsurfing! Julien hosted me for 12 days in is flat in Puteaux near Paris, he is very welcoming and he abandonned his own bed to us (because he accepted too to host my mother and my sister when they arrived in Paris), he is a real ambassador for couchsurfing!

I met Julien during the Unkle Fred's Birthday party at the Mayflower Bar in Paris and then he came to Lille especially for my birthday party (Thank you !). We talked a lot each other, it is a real pleasure to know him. Julien is a friendly and generous parisian I met during the CS quiz in a pub. He gave me the best tips about Cs as he really share the spirit of this organisation. A great ambassador that I respect.

Julien has got simply the CALIBRE of a great ambassador. He likes also to make discover some new experiences to the newbies on cs. ( No comment for Me!!) and we always enjoy to do some stupid military tricks before having a drink. à la tête, à la tête et surtout à la tête et qu'elle ne surchauffe pas trop. Santé !

Julien hosted me and my bf for 3 days in Paris. He is a very nice, easy going guy. In his house you are really feeling "at home" in Paris and you are able to live the "real parisian life". He took us to nice little restaurants, bars and pubs and he is always up for going out and party... this guy seems to need no sleep at all!

Julien is an awesome guy to stay with. He took the time when we got lost on the way to his place to come out and rescue us, making sure that we got to shelter safely, and that was around midnight or later...He took us out to a pub one night with some of his friends, and gave us some great tips on where to visit. overall, a very cool guy.

Julien is great! He went into lots of trouble to pick me and Mica from the statin on the day of the strike!!! he is so relaxed, always willing to help and easy going. We loved Julien!

 

julien trusted me enough to take him to his first rave and eat my mediocre meals. he was generous enough to bring souvenir gifts from his hometown and previous travels, and didn't complain despite bad weather and bad sightseeing luck.

It was very nice to meet him in Baltic CS-HC meeting! He seems to be easy communicating person, friendly, helpful. Definitely would be nice to meet him in future. We have been at the same "Vilnius rally" group and had fun here wondering throught old Vilnius, Uzupis :)

I met Julien as I was in the line waiting for checking the flight for Vilnius in the CDG Paris Airport.

I met Julien first in a small CS meeting in Paris this July, and I was really surprised to see him when he came to Vilnius, to Baltic Hospitality Gathering:)he is really fun and friendly person and im hoping to see him again for the 3rd time:)

 

I discover Julien very slowly but now I can consider him a good friend! It's always fun to pass time with... for party or for work! I like his sence of humor and the way he helped us to organize all the CS communauty in Paris.

I met Julien at my first CS meeting in Paris then we traveled together at the Baltic Hospitality Gathering in Vilnius. He is a very "zen" guy and experienced traveller (and beer drinker... but that's he's very own way to pay homage to the countries he visits).

 

Julien took me into his couchsurfers refuge on a last minute request plea from a mutual friend. He was kind enough to show me around Paris a little bit and we enjoyed a nice dinner together. He is a very sweet person and I hope to meet him again. Merci merci Julien!!

Julien is an extremely nice and laid back guy. He hosted me and my gf for 2 or 3 days, we drank a lot of good wine and beer and showed us some neat places in Paris. I hope he takes good care of his heart! :)

Julien was a amazing host! My first night we went to a CS birthday party of Jerome and met tons of people and had a great time. Meeting Julien as any CS meeting in Paris, I don't even remember the first time I met him :) He's really one of the people I appreciate the most in parisian community.

-Me and Andrey stayed with Julien for 2 more nights on our way back to London to fly home. He actually showed up AT the train station to pick us up!!! it was the coolest thing that happened the whole trip! it was so nice seeing him again1 anyways... we stayed with him a few days and he took us to a Quebec National Day party then on a pub crawl again. We had a blast and I look forward to going back to Paris JUST to see Julien again! He really is an awesome guy and gives couchsurfing a good name!

Juliet left me his apartment when was away even though we knew each other since only few hours! It's amazing experience for me. He also showed the surrodings area and gave many useful advices about the life in Paris. I hope that I'll able to host him which equal hospitality in the future.

It's always fun and interesting talking to Julien. When I am at a picnic a beer in my hand, it's really great to have him around. He's the official beer opener :)

 

Julien was my very first couch surfing experience! Luckily I was able to stay with Julien for a few days before his new work schedule started. Very funny guy, and we have lots in common: computers, video games, anime, and cows! He also introduced me to a journalist and photographer asking about my couch surfing experience. It's my first time in Europe and Julien has already made me a celebrity! :)

I had so much fun showing Julian around Paris, and we didnt get to see the half of it! I will definitely be back to show him the rest, and update him on the great movies he hasnt seen yet....

I didn't have a long stay with Julien as my flight out of Paris was quite early, but in the short time i was at his place he was nothing short of a fantastic host. He left me up to my own schedule during the day, then took the other two guest he had at the time and me to a couchsurfing picnic where we hung out with other couchsurfers and Parisians. He was giving, accomodating, and made sure that my last day and nights in the city were great. After a long night, he even drove me to where I needed to catch the bus to the airport before we got any sleep. A truely great host to end my couple weeks of couchsurfing.

 

Julien was extremely hospitable to us. Very accomodating, our stay overlapped with three other couchsurfers! Thank you thank you thank you!

Julien was my first host ever, and he was just wonderful. He put up with me for 5 nights, despite being busy with work and random furniture-assembly projects. He was also very patient with me being shy and terrified to speak my horrible French. Julien if you are ever in Boston, you are more than welcome in my home!

Julien is one of my neighbors, we use to come back together from CS meetings. I got so many occasions to know him, to meet his surfers that I can say he is a very reliable person and a party animal, always up to do something. He is very generous and very helpful ( he always makes sure you remember the way back home!). He is one of the landmarks of CS Paris, and very good friend.

Julien is one of our fellow members of the 'Parisian CS gang', that I used to meet here in there in parties when I lived in the 'City of lights'.
Plus he now helps out with getting a Collective organised in Paris, summer 07, so we became co-workers and just shared a lovely WE in Auvergne building team spirit.

There is so much to say about this chap named Julien. I stayed with him for a couple of nights and on the first night we went to a party and hung out with the local couchsurfers. We both had a great time together and he made me feel really comfortable at his flat. Julien left a good impression on me that lasted the entire time I was in France. I thought Julien was Stanley's hiden son, but not at all, He's french, He's funny, He enjoys to meet and discover people, to sare experiences, to resume, He's a real Couchsurfer!

Julien is a good time and a benevolent host in Paris - on a couple of my dark days away from my dissertation, Julien was there to draw out the steam, drink fabulous whiskey, and rattle off by the side of various Parisian sites and scenes.
