There simply are not enough words to describe Cynthia - fun, generous, kind, exceptionally interesting and intelligent are just a few that come to mind. I am so grateful that we were introduced at an Atlanta Brave's baseball game. Before I had the opportunity to meet Cynthia I had heard so many good things about her involvement in the community. Cynthia has been so kind and generous with her time. She has unselfishly introduced me to the world of traveling and I always look forward to our Monday Spanish classes and wine drinking sessions. I simply marvel at how she has the time to accomplish so many things on a professional, charitable and social level.

UPDATE: I just got back from my "journey" to Colombia with Cynthia and it was simply amazing. If you have the opportunity to travel with Cynthia then I HIGHLY recommend it. I saw people, places and things that I had only read about in books.

I can't wait until our next adventure together!

Cynthia is a great conversationalist, very well traveled and always entertaining.

We met up in Atlanta on one of her bouts up here and had a short chat, I hope to see her on my upcoming Florida trip!

 

I have known the Lady Lawyer for over 20+ years. (even before she was a lawyer) She is a true friend in the very sense of the word. Through the good times and the bad we have stuck together and I feel stronger for it.

She is blessed in her desire and ability to see the world and the people in it for who they really are.

A great traveler and good surfer she is always prepared to go somewhere new and try something exciting. If you pester her enough she will include you in her journal of travels. Reading it is almost as good as being there yourself.

We communicated via CS a few times when I was in FLL. I made it a point to attend Terry's party so I could personally met Cynthia. So many amazing people and so little time. I do hope we have another occasion to share stories as I'd love to make it to Machu Picchu. hugs, Elena

Cynthia threw an event at a restaurant in Santiago, Chile. I was impressed by her focus on me while we were talking. It made me feel important and interesting.

Obviously a CS diehard, in a good way.

The CS project should be happy with a person such as Cynthia. She is a very pleasant person to be around one of those rare persons that can bring people together, and who also works actively on doing that.

I honestly cannot say enough great things about Cynthia! She was a great guest and very patient with my horrible planning skills. :) Her appreciation of the couchsurfing community is obvious from the moment you meet her and that feeling is absolutely contagious when she is around. LadyLawyer found my profile on CouchSurfing, and stayed in Candide's aft cabin for a couple of nights. She was the perfect guest! I mean, she showed up with Caviar, cream cheese, and crackers! What's not to love about that!?!? We had some great talks in Candide's cockpit. She introduced me to her lawyer friends here in Fernandina Beach. From these experiences, I learned that lawyers are actually...people! ;-)

 

Cynthia is amazing and it was such a pleasure to finally meet her in person. She has helped me with so many things related to the couchsurfing project in order to help me become a better nomadic ambassador. Her dedication to this project is exemplary. I had the privilege of meeting Cynthia in St. Augustine. She was surfing with another local Couchsurfer. We had a great time hanging out with her and her Couchsurfing friends. Cynthia was really helpful in coordinating this luncheon as well as some rides for this event. She is well traveled and interesting to talk with. You will enjoy your time with her.

We had spoken a couple times and exchanged emails about a brunch she put together. I mixed up the dates and arrived a week early, so was able to scout out the restaurant firsthand. Meeting in person, I found her to be intelligent, pleasant, personable, and Real. She put on no airs, and seems to genuinely enjoy meeting other travelers. Having made travel a prority in her life, we had similar perspectives, and hit it off pretty well. Do I know her well enough to trust EVERYTHING in my world to her? Not yet, no, (and there are few I would give that level of trust to.) But between being an ethical attorney and the conversations - what was said, not said, and shared - I feel comfortable to say she's the real deal, and that her integrity can be counted upon. If I were traveling and came across her, she would be in my confidence immediately.

 

I rode to a CS potluck event with Cynthia and had amazing conversation, so much so that I can't wait to spend time with her again in the future! Plus, she saved my mom from a killer snake!

 

Cynthia has amazing travel stories and travel dreams. She is a proud representative of the couch surfing community and can offer invaluable advice. I was lucky to meet her at my very first CS event.

What a pleasure to have Cynthia stay with us. It didn't feel like having a guest stay with us, she was more like family. She brought me a copy of our school's alma mater which I had completely forgotten. It was like having my sister stay with me.
Oh and the cat hair is no charge.

So now that I have had the opportunity to surf at Cynthia's place I have to say it was quite pleasant. She made sure I was comfortable and we talked until the wee hours of the morning. I bonded with Star who made me feel right at home. She made sure I wasn't lonely and slept with me all night. If you stay with them make sure you stay up for the light show! There really is so much to do in her area. See you guys soon!

Cynthia was an amazing guest. She is very active within couchsurfing and inspired me to become more active within the CSing community myself. I will definetly keep in contact with her as she has now become my Couch Surfing Mentor.

I was watching Cynthia's activity on cs for some time than finally we got the chance to meet in a get together in Orlando. Few days after that, i had the chance to host her for 1 night and share even more thoughts about CS and trips in general. She is a very experience traveler, and she has a big passion for CS. Cynthia is a very nice person, she has a bright personality and is organized.

We saw each other briefly at the restaurant but were able to get into some more in depth conversations about the politics of CS at John's house. Lady lawyer is easygoing with intellectual conversation.
Update: Wow did we have fun and adventure kayaking the Hillsborough River. Lady Lawyer was an excellent guide.

I had the honour of being Cynthia's first host and she was a fabulous guest! It was a real pleasure to have her stay. She's a great conversationalist and has lots to share. Definitely someone you'd love to have for dinner ... at the very least!! We've kept in touch since meeting and she's gone from surfer to friend! I have known Cynthia for more than 20 years; we met in school, and have remained friends ever since!

We have traveled together extensively in Europe and in the US.

Cynthia genuinely enjoys every travel day, is enthusiastic about it and sees the best in it! Even on a 'bad' travel day (like when it rains on the day you want to do a long hike), she'll say at the end of the day:
"well I met X today, who was great", or
"I learned Y today", or "I saw Z today, which was unexpected, but really great!"

Plus, she is great when planning a trip; just last week, she emailed me her personal travelogue for an upcoming trip that my husband and I hope to take in the fall; she is wonderful about sharing her travel knowledge.

I can't say enough good things about my dear friend, except that I hope we'll always be friends!

Cynthia is such a warm person, friendly and caring and really, really easy to talk to. I'm so glad she contacted me and that we had time to get to know each other. I know we'll see each other again someday.

She has traveled extensively throughout the world for several years and is a very experienced traveler, in addition, her reputation professionally is impeccable. I highly recommend her for advice and travel tips. She is also fun to surf with.

Kayaking with Cynthia, as with every other event with her, was great fun. She is a great guide too.

Traveling with Cynthia in Colombia is fun and a constantly changing experience. The only reason she misses something is because of time constraints. I look forward to traveling with her in Colorado.

 

We have yet to meet, but she's well known in Central Florida CS cirles, and she set us up with Julie (another CS'er) when she herself was unable to host. --Update: We met! She came up with other CS'ers and we had a great time, and she even sent a Thank you card, Who does that anymore??!!

Cynthia is constantly working on new CS meets and greets. The regular CS'ers get to enjoy the fruits of her labor and get to know each other better. The organizers, like Cynthia, really turn the rest of us into a network of friends. It was great to meet you face to face finally!

Cynthia was a great guest. Always respectful and looking out to make sure everything was all good. She remained an ocean of calm when her passport went walkabout and many others would have fallen apart.

Cynthia is pretty cool and she can definitely keep her cool, especially when loosing a passport the day before she leaves. We had a great time with some good conversations. I look forward to going to Florida!

Ladylawyer organized a very nice and fun dinner/meeting in Buenos Aires as she does everywhere she travels to. I enjoyed so much meeting and talking to her. It's great to see members so active and passionate about CS.

 

We met at my very first CS social get together. Cynthia is filled with enthusiasm for traveling, for CS, and to adding to her impressively large "Countries Visited" list. She's good fun to be with.

Although we never met because I was getting ready for a trip while Cynthia was arriving in Buenos Aires, Cynthia was organized a big CS dinner from far away.

Cynthia was a lot of fun; she couchsurfed with me in Argentina and everybody in my apartment liked her! Hope to see her again someday.

 

met cynthia at a tampa/polk county dinner event. had an amazing south american meal, then an after party at john's. she is a great cs amb. and she comes prepared with her wine! haha! luckily we could all surf john's house. i recommend meeting her if you get the chance.

Cynthia and I had a great time together and it was a honor for me to host the Tampa Bay / Polk Co CS dinner. I'm so glad we had the chance to meet each other.

Very good hostess, kind, well educated and friendly! Always answer my questions and gave me very good advises, thanks!! It was a real pleasure to met her.

 

She had many interesting stories to share at the CS Tampa Bay/Polk County meet. She is well-traveled and willing to share experiences and travel sources. I am glad I had the chance to talk with her & hope to see her at another event soon.

Cynthia is very well travelled and independent. An excellent conversationalist, it was a pleasure to meet her and discuss various countries that we have travelled to.

I got to know Cynthia on the CS Meeting that my husband David and I hosted... we had a great time.

Cynthia was very friendly and it was great to meet her at a joint Polk county/Tampa Bay CS dinner. Hopefully we'll get to see her at another meet!!

 

I met Cynthia at the CS Dinner. She is a remarkable lady to say the least. I throughally enjoyed talking with her throughout the night and felt it a privledge to host her.

We had a deep conversation about CS, I know she is deeply concerned in making this network a better place and she's also reliable. It was really nice meeting her !

Cynthia stayed with me for a couple of days. She is a lovely person, warm and well organised. I really enjoyed her company. She stayed with me when I was going through a lot (work wise and emotionally), so I could not spend enough time with her, I wish I could have.. But hopefully next time in London or somewhere else!!

 

We met for a social at the Olde Starr Inn in York, the event being organised by Cynthia a/k/a LADYLAWYER. A very good natured and interesting lady from Florida, USA.
