After a few failed attempts to meet with Leonardo, I finally got a chance to meet this very interesting and charismatic brasilero on the day I got stuck on the airport for nearly 13hrs. He meet me for a couple of hours by the beach and we had an amazing dish of Acai Ice cream and an inspiring conversation. He is an idealist, dreamer, adventurer and a person in search for a purpose driven destiny. I really admired his passion and views on life and the risk taking attitude he posseses. Leonardo, life is our greatest teacher, and you my friend became its greatest pupil. Thank you for sharing a part of you. Your vision will come true one day and I hope to be a part of it. Unbelievable experience with an amazing person: Leo. He fed us an amazing lunch, met his parents, hung out at his house, went around his home town and even had dinner. I am indebted for life to leo, one of the most amazing person i have met in a very long time.

We met just a couple of hours but it was really nice. He let us stay at his parents´ as it was his home. Anyway we had enough time to talk about interesting things. Thanks for everything.

 

He is very special!

From the first moment I was a certainty: Leo and I would be very close friends. Leo is one of the most creative people I know, completely different of the uniform mass that we usually found in big cities. His mind is always in the process of learning, innovation and transformation. He needs people, information, movement and nature. Caring, considerate, intelligent, sweet. His spirit is free and so full of love that overflowing. Through his eyes tells you exactly what he is feeling. We always talked a lot about all things and his companion was very important to show me that I am not alone in my freaks thoughts. I feel privileged to have had some time with Leo before traveling and I'm sure that in any way I will carry he with me forever.

I was really happy to meet Leo and the gang. We had an awesome dinner party. They were all so nice to converse with and learn more about them and their projects.

Leo is a real character I was very happy to meet. We were able to share real life lessons and personal dreams with each other. I admire his vision and spirit that carries him through this life.

It was really fun having Leo and his friends crash at my place! Good pizza and good banter! Very tidy and respectful group of people

Leo was a friendly, engaging and considerate guest. I was happy to host him (and his parasailing crew) and hope to meet again!

I knew Leo would be as wonderful in person as was his profile...Leo..you are a beautiful, kind, considerate man..your mama did a good job raising you!!!!! You are a good listener, interested in others ...and very genuine...If i had a son...i'd want him to be like you...LOL... . What can I say except that it was a pleasure hosting you and the crew in Prince George...anytime mon ami.

I had the chance to hang out with Leo several times in Vitoria: interesting conversation, excellent thoughts and better deeds. Just the drinking part still needs some rehearsing...
I thought I was a good listener but he definitely outpaced me!

What can be said about Leo, definatly not lacking in charisma and passion, and he took to on my first cliff-diving experience

 

Leo is INCREDIBLE i hate to love this guy who is like my brother and can drive me nuts!!! truly you'd be a fool not to meet him and if you get a chance to connect with him consider yourself priviledged and very lucky...and verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry patient!!! hahaha
but seriously he's awesome and i met him at a strange juncture in his life I have had the opportunity to have talked to him about our lives, world, the universe and everything and he is without a doubt a fantastic, soulful human being who has deep thoughts, unique perspectives on life, God, spirituality and a deep understanding of human behavior and is honest to the point it hurts.....varied experiences in life have made him one of the most interesting people i have ever met and I am really glad I have had the chance to work with him, motivating him, bugging him, hanging out with him, learning about paragliding and the shaka....watching earthlings after which we both turned vegetarian, drinking his crazy mixed drinks(theyre really freaking good) and get to know a little bit about him...Leo ...you kick ass!
And now he's going to be sailing around the world and going surfing!! I am sooooooooooo jealous...I know its going to be awesome!!!xo....biiiiiiiig giant shaka to you!!!
I learnt so much about the art of listening and communication from Leo...its Life changing...thank you...
update...talking to Leo again makes me realise he truly is a special individual

 

leo stayed with us for a couple of nights. we would have liked him to stay longer.

from chilling to partying...everything you want. u gotta meet this guy! we stayed together in LA, CA for about a week and had an awesome time. we chilled, we partyed, we did some crazy shit, had lots of beer and shots and gooooood food. I had so much fun with this guy! Hey Leo....DO THE LEO!!!!!!!

HIS DOG IS NOT STUPID. i love that dog. it keeps me warm.

...thinking about a ref to drop just makes me smile...

Leo ("léo" with a french accent) is a kind of those living legend that would end up being a myth in the story of those who crossed his path.


The best description I could made of him would be:it's Peter Pan back from Neverland wearing a 30 years old guy skin suit. he made HIS choice and stays stick to it : "Life first!".
he get amazed of every little single detail, he has one love he remain faithfull to, he loves people with a Heart big enough to hold the all world in it. He lives on the edge sharping it and sharing it with all his stories.

He showed me why and brazlians might be good friend, because we have lot's in common.

I step out of the line to say that I am a fan of this guy... and don't really wana go to neverland anymore, cause without its main character, it should be a boring place right now.

The sky is his limit!

 

Fellow couchsurfer but we didn't meet on Couchsurfing. Fellow paragliding pilot and I'd love to fly with him. Fellow soul travelling on many journeys, in this world and in ourselves, and none of these journeys has an end, so our paths will cross again.
We're so completely different but it's impossible not feeling close to Leo as he put no wall or mask between him and the world or others, as I would like to be able to. He defines himself as common. He looks like the laid-back-surfer kind of guy. He is all that really more than just that. He looks for and follows his own way with thruth, love and courage, and I admire that.

Leo was a sweetheart, he is a curious and engaged human being, into exploring and sharing life's many lessons .. he was very caring in a time that was difficult for me. I consider him a friend forever now and hope our paths cross again.

Had a great time with Leo wondering around Manly, Syndey, Australia. Fun sharing contact improv dance with Leo in Nelson, NZ for his first lesson (with me, Mike, Fiona, Joe) and then his second lesson in Newtown, Sydney, Australia after bumping into each other in a coffee shop. Agreed no good on the African restaurant and yes on the gelotoria. Look forward to next crossing.

 

Leo sees the world uniquely. He perceives more than most, and understands that there is a lot to learn & see. He's open & compassionate, curious, thoughtful, and the most child-like (please note that this is not the same as child-ish) person I know. Leo Discovers.

 

I had the excellent fortune and great pleasure to get to know Leo whilst working on the "How-To Couchsurf" (working title). Leo's been on an incredible journey; lived and learned a lot. He's one of the most open and honest people I've met. I look forward to the next time our adventures cross!

 

Leo is an outright gem. The man has an amazing depth of creativity, emotion and positive energy and a passion for life that makes him someone we hope to spend much more time with in the future.

Leo was a great addition to the collective. He's a multi-faceted individual, I'm sure our paths will cross again. He's welcome to surf my place any time.

 

What a Yuppie

Leo is my hero. He is hilarious and genuine. Giving and great to talk with. A joy to experience. Worth seeking out. I will never think of the pope the same way again. May the road rise to meet your feet, the wind be at your back and the sun shining brightly.

An inspiring man based in many countries with much one might call wisdom. I should have talked more to him, but eventually I'm sure I will. Perhaps my favorite moment is his pool jumping at the Quebec house during Casey's party.

 

Words can not define such a man... I have true admiration for Leo. Anyone surfing through Oahu should not pass up the chance of meeting him. I had a wonderful time at his place, and can not wait to see him again... Rockin it on the sunny side of life..

We had similar life changing experience which made us more spiritual persons.

 

Fantastic connection..Leo is a REAL heart, and from the time we spent together, true to himself. I wish there were more spiritfilled humans like him....this world and journey would be much different. I hope to cross paths again, sooner rather than latter, there is much to grow from eachother. Look for you in the skys!

Leo, Leo, Leo making a change in his life to better his spirit, reaching deep inside to find himself within. Leo and I got to spend some time driving and talking and communing with nature. He is complex and interesting and like a boy stepping into the universe of being a grown up. Leo seeks his heart of gold and he will become that heart. I SO enjoyed Leo, especially because he is a little bit crazy!!

Me and Leo come from very different frame of references and have way different personalities, which is why I learned the most from him at CSC NZ. I have great respect for his honesty, expressiveness, and vision for CS.

A consumate flyer and great character.

Loe is a one of a kind! always interesting and a good time.... knows how to laugh, chill, tell crazy stories, and is always up for anything!

Talking with Leo is like having a genuine experience. But it's a two way street. If you aren't willing to be genuine yourself - you will miss out on something amazing. He can surf my couch anyday. We'll talk our way to the stars. Awesome is too small a word.
And when I found him again in Brasil..... he bade me walk off a cliff with him and we went flying through the sky!!! Thank you for opening a whole new world for me!!!

 

Wow!!! Wow sums up the entire time Leo was here. Had such an awesome time. from Hanging out at the beach to waiting for the wind to pick to listining to a great set by a great DJ we had an amazing time. He Truly embodies the couchsurfing spirit and his energy is contagious. He is courteous and such a great guest.... you all should jump at the chance to host him. you will be happy you did... See you in Hawaii soon man...

 

When I first met Leo, we immediately began engaging in deep personal discussions about how to communicate better. We talked about better living and what we could be doing to improve our own lives and the lives of those around. I really connected with Leo in a way that I don't connect with a lot of people. I feel lucky to count him amongst my friends.

Leonardo is... Leonardo! his oulook on life is so different from mine that we both learn a lot from each othe (i think) and it's always a genuine delight to spend time with him. he's been a huge contribution to my emotion journey and he gives the best massages in town!

I fisrt contacted him when I was going to Hawaii but I changed my mind and went somewherelse... Fortunatelly, life made our ways cross again in New Zealand. We have things in common like paragliding, love for nature and people. He is easy going, philosophical and open-minded... my kind of people :-) Had a terrific time in Nelson ! Thanks for everything.

Leo, the essence of you is the way you think. You accept everyone in to your heart. You greet everyone with open arms. You speak of your mind, and your thoughts and your emotions. You are a pillar of strength, but a friend of great worth. It was amazing to be in your pressence.

We met at the collective in Nelson and talked about different things.

When Leo is happy about something he laughs with the untamed joy of a child. It's extremely endearing. He thinks big, and lives big. Keep practising that Irish accent and your waltz... I look forward to seeing your progress in both next time I visit!

Leo is pretty damn cool. He gives good massages. He is good at giving shoulder rides. He has coarse hair... but thats okay, its pretty manly. I only tell him this because I am his friend and I care about him.

Take care, sweet man...! your soul is special. Remember... "the more to begiven, the more should be done".

Leo is a unique blend of philosopher´s mind, poet´s sensitivity, athlete´s body, surfer´s party attitude, missionaries´ compassion and explorer´s courage! What a mixture! Definately worth meeting!

I tell you this guy opened my eyes. Everything is an adventure around him, a great, wild and fun adventure.

 

Leonardo smiles widely as he enjoys life. He surfed my couch and surfed some waves at Polihale in my friend’s kayak. We saw him several days later after a different kind of kayak ride from Kalalau to Polihale…with that great big smile. Leonardo is eager to learn and experience life at the fullest. Good on ya.

Ten minutes after meeting Leo we were having a very deep an interesting conversation in a middle of a loudy crowd, very unusual... Very passionate about his ideas and ideals, about his life and the way he wants to live it. Hope we can repeat that someday with no (or little) alcohol in our veins :).

 

Leo is awesome friend for everything! Flying, talking, doing crazy stuff, giggling.. He's sooo much fun! Miss ya!!

Leo is probably the most spiritual person I know - he is interested in making others enjoy their lives and finding out what the life is about. It was so kind of him to let us borrow his red car =) and I am very glad I got a chance to meet him! He also surprisingly introduced Couchsurfing for us! Greetings from the arctic circle, Leo!

Glad to See that I made the "Recent Experiences". Don't know how 'just a quiet drink' in Honolulu quickly turned into an all night extravaganza. GO ahead and ask him for "$31 dollars" (or was it $29 Leo?).

Fun Latin Romantic! Leo is a crazy, sweet, adventurous, fun guy. Underneath his Latin looks is a heart of gold. Loyal, creative and wacky as all hell, he's great for a story, an adventure, or just a comfortable couch during your travels.

 

A little crazy, but that's a good thing! One stay with Leo and you'll know he's a bit different. He's so much fun.. and participates in all kinds of crazy adventures... Make sure he tells you about the time he fell 2500 feet out of the sky and into a tree when his paraglider wing collapsed! True story! If you're ever near Leo's couch, be sure to drop in ans surf it. He's a great guy, too much fun to BS with, and an amazing graphic designer!
