I can't believe I've forgotten to write Alex a reference. gawd! He's the guy that really embodies the CS spirit. When i had a 1day transit in LA, he went out of the way to take me to a party -get in touch with the LA CS scene- and took me around Hollywood. Everything in LA is far away and luckily he drove us around. Easy to chat with. Friendly!! So much to share with you about the States! Swell guy!

Alex came down to our house to one of our first couchsurfing events, which was a house party. Alex is a very cool person to hang out with and is very easy going! you should def meet him!

 

Alex! Even though we only met briefly a couple of times, he left a great impression on me. Always smiling, always in for a good laugh. A genuinely good person with the heart in the right place. If you're looking for a reason to go to Los Angeles, Alex is your excuse!

Alex is great company and a very well travelled man! We briefly met at the Paella in 2008, but in 2009 I finally got to spend more time with this guy. He knows a lot about travelling and I spendt some quality time with him and his family at Irene's birthday party.

Meeting Alex was a huge inspiration!! He lives CS with all his might: eagerness to learn more about people regardless of their origines and share with them what he discovered, all the while enjoying himself and wanting others to feel better. Thank you!!!

I get to know him on the paella and wedding party at Vince´s place in Swiss. We talk about the differences between Chinese and Western people and how Chinese people think. We had a good and long conversation that the good things in life are free. So keep in touch Alex ;-)

Not that Alex needs my reference (he is probably the most seasoned, involved expert on CS I have ever met) but I will write one anyway because he is awesome. Stayed with us a couple nights (one in Reno, one in Tahoe) when we had twelve people staying at my house and he was still stoked to hang out even though he had to get up early. Full of laughs, enthusuastic enough to reignite my dream of starting a hostel (which is now under way), and tons of cool stories. My pleasure to host him and I can't imagine us not crossing paths again.

 

Alex was able to stay with us for a night while he was attending a HAM convention. Alex is the epitome of couchsurfing. Alex is friendly, trustworthy, and easy to talk to, and an excellent guest. He is everything couchsurfing should be.

Alex is a fun loving guy. He gets out and has a great time.
He loves to live life and dance. I hope to meet up with Alex many times in the future.

Alex stayed with my roommate and me while he was visiting Madison. He was a great guest, the perfect description of a couchsurfer who cares about meeting people, making connections, and seeing everything there is to see. Host him if you have the chance, he is full of wonderful stories.

Alex and I met at Vince's Paella 2008 in Gossau. This seasoned traveler showed an amazing mood for party, talks and good times. An overall great guy who spreads around good vibes. The world needs more of these people!

 

Alex is a great guy. We met for the CS Paella meeting at Vinces' place where we were co-hosted for 6 days. Alex is helpful, entertaining, interesting, nice and really funny and we had a great time.
I was also so lucky that I got to meet him again when I visited Marco in California for dinner and drinks. It was great. Alex is a wonderful person.

It was a lucky coincidance that Alex was on the phone searching for a place to sleep in the hostel and that he turned out to be a enthusiastic Couchsurfer! It was so much fun to go out in Utrecht with Alex. Beacause he's so fond of the Couchsurfing project he is a perfect guest.

Met thru a commun CS friend. Alex seems an easy going guy, he joined us in a late raining afternoon for a coffee first, then a walk in the Marais then for libanese food. Didnt have much time to talk to him but seemed to be a curious and nice guy

 

An absolute pleasure to meet Alex finally in Paris. He joins us for a night and we had great time sharing our CS stories experiences, eating lebanese foods and walking around Place des Vosges & Le Marais. This was my first couch surfing experience and it was really cool. Alex is a great guy and a great host. We cruised around LA and saw the sights. He is a well seasoned surfer and host and will make you feel right at home. It was nice to be around someone who knows the city well and knows CS2 so well. Thanks!
Update march '08: So we meet again Alex! Alex came out to Spain while I was here and we met in Madrid then traveled to Valencia, Granada and Sevilla. He is so much fun to travel with. Everywhere we go he seems to attract new people to our group; a real magnetic personality. He's wild, funny and perfect to travel with. Alex is a trustworthy companion and is an ideal model for the CS community. See you soon Alex!

We met at a mad ocassion: Fallas in Valencia, and again in Paris where I stayed at his place. Alex is the coolest guy, always in a good mood, making fun of everything, and a great traveler too! Thanks a lot and hope to see you again! :)

Alex is a very open minded and cool guy. It is impressive how much he has seen of the world. I showed him a little bit the Berlin underground nightlife and we cruised around Berlin and ate Currywurst and Döner Kebab. I guess we made the most out of it, because we had only a few hours to do something together. Alex is a true, very active Couchsurfer. Like I call myself. He came to Berlin to stay at Anjas place, what is only 5 minutes walking from my house. We went twice to the same bar to meet a few more CS. Nice evenings. Alex is good to joke around with and I admire all the trips he makes. Haha we met two times at CS meetings, one in LA and the other one in Singapore, and either him nor me can remember the first time in LA. Loose guy and fun to talk with, as far as I can say he's next to Peggy THE address if you're in LA.

Alex is a fun guy to hang out with as he is easy going, have positive attitude in life and definately know how to enjoy life and have fun and best of all he can DANCE!! Alex is one awesome dude! Friendly, funny, smart and easy to talk to. We clicked immediatly and had a great time. I seriously can't wait to visit him in the US and I definitely think we should do a road trip to Vegas! Fun, fun, fun on a stick!

Alex G (doesn't that sound like a rapper?) is...hmmm....does he really need another +ve reference? Just a piece of advice, please don't talk to him 'too interesting' topics whilst he was driving as he'd probably miss a turn. Actually, he did :o). Another good side of him is that it was really nice to tease him (I thought I saw him blushed a little) because we get to laugh together. Oh gosh...I guess it is going to be his turn to 'bully' me when I see him soon. Have mercy, G! HAA..HAA

Hung out with Alex briefly during the Lunar New Year holidays with other KL CSers. Definitely a go getter with lots of travel experiences.

Met Alex at CS gathering. He showed his enthusiasm for CS and travel. He is knowledgeable, willing to share with anyone, and he has great personality!Believe it, he is from the same town as I am, world is small. It was a great talk with him, and I do wish to meet you again!

Alex is a person with a big charisma around him. Wherever he goes, I think he's "in charge" of the situation. He's a nice person to have around.

Danielle told me about him & he is our 1st CS guest in Ipoh. He is friendly & easy-going. I'm nervous but surprise that we get along pretty well. Alex is great! I had (and actually still have while writing this) an awesome time with him. He showed me the local places to hang out in Sitiawan and Lumut. And he also arranged some contacts in KL for me even before we met in person! Thanks Alex, i hope to see again in Holland!

Alex is an extremely great guy! Me and two of my friends stayed at his place for five memorable days! He is such a generous and sweet person - always smiling! He is very helpful and gives advise about what to be aware of. Besides, he always comes up with a surprise! :D I highly recommend Alex as being your next host in the States! :)

I met Alex at a gathering my friend Rob and I put together in La Mison. Alex showed up with a carload of people and was very generous donating rice and beans to the food bank and paying a huge part of the bill for the meeting. He was very entertaining and great to talk with. i really hope we have the chance to meet up again in the very near future.

 

First of all, don't miss this extremely activ and generous couchsurfer, he knows the city's best!
A friend and I spent 3 nights at his house in Temple City where we had the best time having all different kind of dinner and going out to a hilarious downtown hip-hop club. Alex is a very experienced, hospitable and interested couchsurfer who helped us organize our trip, lent us his gps and spent his rare free time with us.

Hey Alex, i'm finally on CS! Alex was a good friend to me on my first night in LA when I needed someone to show me the big bad city! We had fun partying in west LA for the halloween parade. He had a scary costume and we took great photos.

 

Alex is a class-act. It was a good day for Couch Surfing the day Alex became an ambassador. He came down to party with us in Baja and bought a huge donation of rice and beans for our local food bank! He's confident, friendly, funny, and the dude can DANCE! :) I'm hoping he'll come back to Baja often for some fish tacos and cold cervezas! Regresa pronto mi amigo!

Alex is a great person to know and help you understand the local community of Couchsurfing as well as being involved in the international CS community. In short, he does the role of a CS Ambassador very well. I have had the pleasure of meeting him at different events and look forward to his friendship and learning from him... OMG, Alex has arrived! :) Yeah, the crazy guy from LA just dropped in at the XMas in Alsace Meeting. We had a nice chat about what CS really is about (we agreed, that "it is not a _dating_ site"). ;) Alex thought it a good idea to provide us CS people at Bruno's place with those geeky LED lights, no, man, that was an awesome idea. Yeaaah! Alex is the friendly guy from the ever so sunny LA. I remember him saying "i want to see snow" in R'dam. He's sincerely interested in culture, travelling and people! and..this guy knows how to paaarty!! The sinterklaas meeting was an example: he is one of those guys who knows how to get the party started.

I met Alex in LA this year when I was going to Coachella Festival in Indio. He made the whole experience so helpful and everything so easy for me. We even celebrated my belated birthday and the drive to the desert was lots of fun. One of the most helpful persons I have ever met. We are now friends, we talk pretty often and he will visit my country soon! Alex, was great to meet you and now I am here in CS too!

Alex is awesome! He's totally funny and friendly and outgoing and I can't wait until our paths cross again! He was integral to the success of our bonfire meet-up at Dockweiler Beach in Southern California, bringing TONS of firewood and the most delicious watermelon I ever tasted!

I had the pleasure to meet Alex when he was staying at Steffi's house for a few days and we had fun toghether, drank a lot and had interesting talks. He is travelling so much, so I'm sure we can meet again somewhere, someday!

despite the fact that he uses his car way too much, Alex is a great guy to spend time with :P He's very open and likes to socialize a lot. He insisted SO MUCH that we should go somewhere with more CSers that I had to kidnap some for him to meet :P naaah, we had a great time dining and drinking, pity they left the day after. Alex is incredible - crazy and so much fun! We went to Hooters together and he brought me to a nice club in LA. Alex is a person true to his word. During our last big CS event, Alex promised to provide assistance and was true to his word. He hauled a ton of wood and brought needed supplies and we wouldn't have pulled off a great event without his help.
That's in addition to the fact that Alex is friendly and outgoing!

Knowing Alex is like having a big brother in LA ! From telling me the cool hang out place to the bargain buy in LA ... he is probably the walking guide in LA :) He also had a great ear listening to moi fear of my many freak incident in LA ! :) Thanks!

We didn't talk a lot during the meeting, 'cause there was so many people.. but it was just great to meet him , really a funny guy,always smiling and laughing and a real lover of Italy:you are welcome here anytime!

Alex was a fantastic CS host/friend to me in LA. I arrived in LA with the sole mission of shopping for 4 days straight - Alex not only told me where to go for bargains BUT also drove me around when he could. He really went beyond just being a host and treated me like his little sister.
We shared some delicious meals together, did a scary night tour of downtown-LA after 8 (in the safety of his very large American car), and planned a trip to Australia and Malaysia. Hopefully that’s when I’ll see you again pal!

Alex, sorry we didn't get to talk more at the bonfire. Although through our mutual friends I already feel I know you a bit. You have a warm heart and a friendly spirit. I'm sure our paths will cross again in the future.

Alex is one of a kind! He is very genuine and goes out of his way to help people. Words cannot describe how nice and kind he is. Alex spent days helping me get to know CS tips, tricks, and travel planning with all his expertice. Without Alex I would have been clueless. Alex is a complete gentleman and goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable. You will be safe with Alex!

alex is very uncomplicated and just loves to show people around, teach, help out!! he's a diamond if you love to depend on someone and feel very comfortable.

Alex is full of energy and even though making the rounds to and from Vegas in one day, he still made it out to happy hour at Cabo Cantina with his CS'er. What a trooper!

Alex knows how to have fun! I spent only one night at his place but he took me and Ling out for some sightseeing like the asian version of hooters, sex shop, clubs and such. He also drove us around, to and from the station and gave us directions of how to get to places. We had great fun together and you will love the time you spend with him from the very first min!

I finally had a chance to meet up with DA man himself.Alex is the host with the most and he can get you/take u to places u never imagine,from asian hooters to bars with bras hanging off the ceiling to sex shops.Alex covered them all.Alex is a god sent.Well travalled and extremely helpful.He has been giving me loads of suggestions and tips on my trips and i know i will definately go back to LA just to see him.Remember to hang my panties on your ceiling if i leave any behind oki!

WOW!! This guy is a MUST in LA.His house is amazing, i was not supposed to surf his couch, but he was so nice i just stayed! He even offered to take me to the airport at 4am (so nice). He also was super nice to my family too. I felt like he was part of my family, we spent excellent time together, he drove us to Sta Barbie, he took me to a club in Hollywood, to lunch, to dinner, to breakfast (i think he was trying to make me fat and then eat me) he spend a lot of time hanging around with my family and friends...he is lovely and totally trustfull...i can keep going but there are so many things to say bout him...see you in Cancun sweet "family/friend"(and in europe, and in australia, and in...)pink kisses

We only met for a few hours, but he seemed like a very nice guy, full of energy and life spirit.

One of the nicest hosts i ve had! Totally uncomplicated, very enthousiatic and spontaneous; he also has his serious and responsible side which makes him a person I really like and respect.. it feels easy with him, it feels safe, a bit like big brother, the kind of person i trust easily (we even slept in the same bed in Vegas;-) Alex, it was a pleasure, contact me when u come to Europe!!

 

Alex is a cool guy! He hosted my friend first and I joined them a day later! We had dinner at a cool asian place and then drank a lot of boba tea at the place with unlimited refills whooohooo!

It was nice to meet you and I'm sure we'll meet again either in germany or in the states!

2007 APRIL: Alex is the real embodiment of a CouchSurfer, he is well traveled, very personable, you feel like you have known him for a long time when you talk to him (or maybe it was that we met in a previous life?)and he is the ultimate host as he opens his couch to all who seek him.

even though he doesnt know it, alex is my life mentor. i started thinking about changing my entire career goals after only a few minutes after our introduction. he was not a host of mine, but i still would say he is as good of a host as you could ask for. stay with him and you will see why.

we went on a trip to las vegas and gran canyon together, and with 2 other cousurfers... Alex is a nice fella, even if he cant help walking in front of everyone, like crazy! lol... no i mean ALL THE TIME!!! sometimes he looses u, but never learns the lesson!! ;)

 

Alex is a very energetic and spontaneous guy, easy going and joyful. Since the email exchanging I could feel we would have a great time, and I was right! We did so many things and we had so much fun in just a couple of days that it's almost unbelievable!
Anyways, Alex is definitely an awesome company who makes any trip to the West Coast worthy!

It was very nice talking to Alex. He was very courteous and easy going. I can't believe you live so close to me....yes, we will carpool next time and will have to meet again soon since we are neighbors.

It's the second time I met Alex back in "Tiny-Pore". He dance non-stop during clubbing, make friends super easily, and not picky when it comes to food! A reliable person and gives good advices when it comes to ladies travellers.
Hope it won't be that far away when you return to Singapore again.

went with him to Maxwell Market to have Chicken rice. Then we toured the Chinese Heritage centre together.. and met Huinee. He was helpful in suggesting what to do/not do when i go to LA / SF later on of this year. Nice chap :-) But i was surprised to know he doesn't understand chinese.

He fed me and fed...fed and fed...until i ran away with Hanna. He wanted to surprise me with food LOL... Better I would go clubbing with u that nite, really.

we joined a crazy dinner together, and it was a lot fun! alex is a really kind person, iam still sorry about that we didnt go out for clubbing together! and iam pretty shure that we see us again anywhere else, berlin or LA, thats still to decide...

It was a pleasure meeting Alex. He's very friendly and seems quite eager to get involved with the hospitality networks. Definitely gets around, so don't be suprised if he turns up around you. Hope to see you at one of the camps soon, Alex!

Alex seems to have life by the horns. he is very friendly, maybe alittle secret squirrel at first. But he will have a meeting in LA and seems to have a lot of free time, well used to travel and meet people

 

Alex is a great guy to talk to and it was interesting to hear about his travels in South East Asia. I'm very interested in going there in the near future so it was great to get some detailed information on some of the great places to visit in the area. When I finally do make that trip I'll be sure to get all the advice/recommendations I can from Alex.

alex is a really cool guy from LA that i met at the San Diego CS Meet. i cant believe he drove from LA on a monday night just for the meet. he's got some dedication to this couch surfing project. he's a friendly guy thats eager to meet different people and get to know them.

Alex is a cool cat, very positive and a person youve felt youve known for a while even if you just met him.
