Lara Fawn

Lara invited me to hang out with her at her new place in Delta Junction while I was on a medical rotation there this summer. She is certainly a cool gal! She was really supportive and offered me a place to stay if I didn't have one, even though she was away in the lower 48. She's easy going and has done so much in her life that there is always a great conversation waiting to happen. I hope to run into her again sometime in the future and wish her the best of luck in all she has planned!

 

We had a perfect time with Lara in Delta Junction. She welcomed us into her home even when she wasn't there to start with. She appreciates what it's like to be couchsurfer and totally made us feel at home. Thanks so much Lara.

Laura asked to have her family stay with me while she visited some friends in Valdez she was very nice and ended up staying one night at my house as well. Although we did not have a chance to visit much my first impression was very good and her family was wonderful.

Lara was a great host. We wish you all the best for your project and your future journeys!

Lara was incredibly welcoming - a perfect host. Her place was a little remote, but the directions she gave were spot-on and I had no trouble at all finding my way around. She even let me have a shower at her apartment the next day, and for a cyclist that's about as good as it gets! Thanks so much!

I had a great time chatting it up with Lara in Delta Junction and hanging in Fairbanks - she is definately a talented artist and an incredible individual.

We stayed at Lara's place for a night on our way cycling around the world :-)Thanks for the nice chat that evening! Lara is a very nice person who thinks about others and the environment. I had never been to Lara's part of AK so I drove up on a weekend and stayed for 2 nights. Had a fun time helping on her property and eating smoked salmon

 

Anyone who would drive a hundred miles to see a show is okay in my book, priorities straight for sure! Lara and Ruth were great guests who definitely had a plan for their time in Fairbanks. We had a great time out at the shows and some good conversation throughout the night. Also, she offered delicious homemade cookies as a parting gift.....AWESOME COOKIES LARA! They are welcome anytime, but should remember an appetite for breakfast next time:)

 

Lara & friend Ruth were super easy company, courteous, fun, AND they brought cookies and beer (2 of my favorites). Hope to catch up with you two again at a show and the door is open (literally) for you anytime.

 

100% good vibes coming from Lara. The days in Alaska seemed to be way more sunier with Lara around. She was just great company. Hope to see you again someday.

 

Lara was a wonderful guest in our collective! Always shining, creating a beautiful mural and just a fun presence in our group. I am happy she decided to stay longer to finish the mural. Sorry I didn't get to see you at Hatcher's pass to say goodbye :( Guess that means we have to meet again someday :)

 

From now on, whenever I think about a person who is free spirited, gliding through life with ease, spreading their calming influence wherever they pass, I will think of Lara. It was a joy to spend time with her in our all too brief time at the Alaska Collective. Hours passed in conversation in no time with this charming soul. Lara - you are a gift - embrace all that is wonderful about yourself and enjoy your life to the fullest!

 

My favourite artist by far!!! Lara is a true person you can instantly become friends with. She is so sweet and so much fun. We had great moments at the Collective and had my best lunch while in Homer :-) She is one of the best examples of what CS is about.

 

Lara is not only a talented artist but a fellow Old Soul. She radiates peace and tranquility...a refreshing person to be around.

 

Lara has this amazing ability to make you feel she's an old friend five minutes after you've met her. Just by being around, she makes paddling through the turbulent streams of life a little easier. She also will ensure that you stay on board and dry. I'll be looking forward to our second chance!

 

Lara was a huge help organizing a CS Collective excursion to Hatcher Pass, it was a blast. I can't wait to see your mural when it is all done, take care!

When Lara came to the collective in Homer it was like a breath of fresh air. She seemed to immediately get along with everybody around her and spread a dose of calm. As you can see from her profile she is an extremely talented artist but she also has wicked good taste in music. Perhaps we will meet again one day, maybe at the Roo or 10klf.

 

Have had a great time when we met. Absolutly easy going. Wideopen minded, we enjoyed the evening when we talked. Thanks for the accommondation, even when you have been busy. We enjoyed the stay.

wish we had more time to spend in delta. definitely worth a return trip! we had a great time with lara and hope to see her again. she makes the whole trip to alaska in the winter worth it with her down home attitude and the ability to make you feel welcome.

 

We had a blast with Lara! I felt like I had known her forever. Her travel stories were inspiring and the conversations were great! Wish we had more time with her! Long live Christmas wrap walls:)

She is an amazing mural artist and a teacher, she is open, direct and honest, and all the while she is beautiful, unique, and really fun to hangout with. And she lives in Alaska! Can't get much cooler than that! (har har :) I really admire her for her flexibility and patience in this great big world.

If you could fashion artistry and zest for life out of a substance in an attempt to make a Couchsurfing golem, it still wouldn't have Lara's shining eyes and inquisitive spirit! She's one of the best of the world! Find a way to her life.

I was only able to hang out with Lara for a short time, but could tell right away that she is "good people". A bear thought of eating us in the night, but my dog Sierra thought otherwise. We all met in the morning, shared some breakfast together and went on our merry ways. I hope that our paths cross again sometime, stop by anytime.

Lara is the ideal friend and couch surfer. As a couch surfer, she is completely respectful of others space, genorously provides splendid conversation, is tidy, and bakes awesome cookies. As a friend she, well, does the same! Thanks for being who you are.

after not meeting lara in person and promptly embarking on a seven hour drive south to the forest fair, i feel it is safe to say that she has an open mind and was eager to get her alaska life started....the drive felt like a few hours and we enjoyed a fantastic weekend together in the forest....i would do it again at the drop of a hat....

 

Just simple. You know sometimes how you connect instantly with someone? Well, that's what happened with Lara and I! I feel closer to her than some of my friends here back home. Her family was so warm and welcoming! Lara and I had so much fun together, just lying on the katamaran and talking like we had known each other forever. I forgot my cereals at your cabin! ahh! Anyhoo, thanks so much for all the fun and I know I have a friend forever...a year after meeting her, we sitll email each other and keep in touch! I am looking forward to her visit at on MY couch! :-)

Lara is amazing. So much experience and wisdom and so much patience with everything. She inspires me with her optimism and fearlesness and was actually the person who introduced me to couchsurfing! We've got each other's dance backs at sweet music shows.

Sleepy head ;). Lara was my first couch surfer! There was no better way to start my CS experience than with a dear friend. Lara is the greatest person to talk to. She has wonderful stories about her travels and great insights on life. It was great to enjoy some wine and chat about good sights to see in the western US. I think she really appreciated the futon after driving all day =) Can't wait for you to come back Lara!!

Gentle Lara... Lara stayed with me for too short of a stint... her presence was very welcomed, and very warm. Anybody would benefit from a visit from Lara, and I'm glad to know that hearts as gentle and unassuming as hers are still left out there... Lara - thanks for coming into my Life, and I hope that you remain here for a long while... (oh yeah, and thanks for the bomb-ass cookies!!!)

mmm... lightswitch plates. Lara is one of the most fascinating, free spirited individuals I've ever met. She was my first 'surfer' and after having her stay for a couple days, I'm completely hooked. She really knows how to relate to people- and draws out the good qualities in others (kind of like she does with her crafts!) Good cook, generous... I'm tellin' ya, can't say enough good things here! Nova, the pup, is very well behaved and about the only downside (if you can call it that) was that it made me want a dog... Highly recommended!
