About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Work less, travel more!

ABOUT ME

Love to travel, preferable travel involving outdoor activities like skiing, hiking, mountain biking, etc. I retired from my medical practice in 2017 and was so happy to have more time to travel - at least until the pandemic hit. Now that we are fully vaccinated and booster, we’re back to exploring the world. I'm a (mostly) organic gardener. I enjoy board games and card games, especially bridge and set back. Also I'm studying piano again after a hiatus of 50 years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We wish that we had more people requesting to stay with us, but I guess East Hampton CT is a bit of a backwater. We think the area has a lot to offer though! Try it, you'll like it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Our first couchsurfing experience was while driving half way across the country to get to RAGBRAI, the Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa. We both hate hotels and love meeting people - so we try to couchsurf wherever we go. We've never had a bad experience, and have been overwhelmed with the generosity of our hosts. One of our hosts even got up early in the morning and made us homemade cinnamon buns!!

Interests

Time with family and friends, travel, peace, great food, preservation of the planet, social justice, reading, hiking, tennis, pickleball. Not necessarily in that order. Lately I’ve been volunteering with a local youth arts non-profit.
