About Me

You can check my blog: http://luispatricio.ca/

I am a day-time guy. I like walking, bicycling, buying groceries at fresh food markets, gardening and exploring public spaces.

From time to time I like enjoying a play or a concert. But my favourite evening is spending time with a small group of friends at home talking, playing, cooking and eating.

Night clubs, pubs and crowded places are not my cup of tea.

Here are some that reflections resonate with me.

Suppose you had the revolution you are talking and dreaming about. Suppose your side won, and you had the kind of society you wanted. How would you live, you personally, in that society? Start living that way now! Whatever you would do then, do it now. When you run up against obstacles, people, or things that won't let you live that way, then begin to think about how to get over or around or under that obstacle, or how to push it out of the way, and your politics will be concrete and practical.

Inevitability does not release you from doing the right thing

Let it be

Only because something didn't happen, it doesn't mean it isn't true

If something is worth doing then something is worth doing poorly

If you do not change direction, you may end up where you headed

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First of all, I love meeting new people and learning about different cultures.

Also, I believe we need to cultivate meaningful human relationships that are not mediated by money.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Having kids

Teach, Learn, Share

Cooking together can be super fun to learn from each other. I can teach Portuguese and Brazilian culture. How to get around on a bike in the city in any weather. Some Aikido moves. Very basic juggling (I'm not great myself).

I am open to try to learn what others would like to teach me.
