Maurizio Mangano

We've met in Milan at CS meeting. Аs far as I understsand, Maurizio is a "soul" :) of Milano's CS. It was no chance for me to get know more about CS life during my short visit, but I hope we can get know each other better next time :).

Maurzio hosted me and Filippo for the new year's eve party 2009 he organized in Taormina! He was a nice and caring host! Then, when Filippo and I got married in August he offered himself to be our cameraman for the most important day of our life! So, what can I say more?? He has a good heart and he caught the meaning of CS, which can be just a start for new friendships and significat facts of members' lives!!! Thank you soooo much Mau!!!

We met some times on the web and we have shared our ideas about CS, then finally we got the chance to meet for the wedding of Filippo and Marianna.
I have big consideration for him because I thought he is the really CS man for Italy. He is.. believe me!
He is full of energy, he is friendly and we could give more things together for a very big Italian CS!!
I am very happy to met Maurizio and I won't lose the chance to meet him again.

Maurizio is very nice person and has a perfect sense of humor :)

Mau hosted me in his flat in Milan for 1 night, and
we went together to the 3rd anniversary of the Milan CS local group.
He was so kind to borrow me his camera for shooting some interviews for my CS Report.

after many messages and messages through the net... at the end i met Maurizio! we just shared a few chat in the FIlippo's wedding so i hope to speak moretime with him in other cs!events.. anyway i know him thanks many chats and cs messages, so i feel to know him, of course positive experience.

We had such a great time with Maurizio in Milano. He is the best host you can imagine. He introced us to his couchsurfing friends, showed us some really nice places in Milano and even cooked for us! Thank you very much for everything Mau!

 

Maurizio is an incredibly funny and crazy person! We got to know at an aperitivo in Milan and had a great time together drinking cocktails and chatting! He seemed to me like the god-father of couchsurfing and I'm looking forward to see him again, maybe I'm going to find a 0-euros-flight with Ryanair :D
It's a pity that we couldn't come to your party the next day!

Maurizio is just one of those people whom I've spent weeks trying to find the right words to describe... there are not enough words to say how wonderful he is!

Mau is probably one of the best hosts in the world. After posting on the SOS couchsurfing site, Mau was immediately writing us that he could host us and we couldn't imagine a better host in Milano. He introduced us to the very CS group and his closest friends and we had a great time hanging out in Cream (great cocktails and veeery nice cups ;))and at Eszters place. You'll definately wonder if he didn't make a mistake putting 50 as his age on CS, cause Mau can party 7 days a week without getting tired!(He's been telling me the whole stay that I was too old for this life hehe)
We'll definately never forget our time in Milano, grazie mille, Mau! Lots of kisses to all of you!

I met him in my first CS meeting in Milano. He is ambassador of the city group and only for that he already deserves my respect.Sometimes it´s really hard trying to control such a big group of people¡¡¡ See you Maurizio

Very good guy.WE met several times in CS events and I noticed straight away the main traits of his personality: generosity, leadership and Trustworthiness There is certainly a lot to learn from a guy like Maurizio.

 

We met at an "aperitivo" of a CS milan meeeting .Maurizio is a very nice person. He's full with initiatives and completely welcoming to new people !! He's the fuel of CS milan group ! And last...he's sicilian like me !!!

Sanne and I couldn’t have been more lucky with our host in Milano. Our trip wouldn’t have been the same without a man who takes care of two naïve girls in the big city, the best coffees in the world, le petit prince, the wonderful pictures, the best ice cream of Milano, the funny Italian parking manners, the CS-friends, NUTELLA,… We’re really glad we DID call you back Maurizio! Hope we see you and Ilze again sometime, in Ghent, or Lyon…

It took quite some time until I got to know Maurizio for real after stumbling his online-actions, but I'm really glad I was able to! I especially loved his pictures, he has this feeling for the hidden moments that we're surrounded by in our daily life and he cherishes them with so much love and passion, it's a treat spending time with him.

Murizio is noble earl with a burning heart! I will remember Milano with him as a place where u can go to the sky with Doumo cathedral, feel so protected in enormus space of Vittorio-Emmanuele pasazh, and suddenly to realize sitting on a bench near opera theater alla Scala that u r absolutely free!!!

WE met In a CS meeting in Milan i mean in Art Factory gatheing and it was amazing being there,i didn't talk a lot with him but it's clear as sun in the sky that he is a real ambasador, cool and friendly. hope to meet again

I had some problems to fined host in Milan and Maurizio was so nice and took me to his place, he didn't know nothing about me, my friend Massimo just asked if its possible! He is really helpful, and interesting person. I had really heavy backpack and he took me to train station, that was so nice!
In my opinion his place is definitely the best place to stay, not only because of flat location, but because Maurizio is really good host :)

I dont know him personally because at the meetings is always surrounded with too many people and I havent had the opportunity to talk much to him yet unluckily but this means that our Ambassador is very much looked up to and appreciated. In fact, I can say that whatever he organised ended up to be a big success and lots of fun too!

Met Maurizio on the Cracow Cs meeting and our luck was that we already had bought tickets to Milan! We needed a couch for night and he was so kind to host us! Thank you for that! We enjoyed Milan very much!

Maurizio hosted me for almost 3 days. It was my first experience of travelling by CS, which was not so positive from the begging. But Maurizio helped me inspite of my mistakes!... He is very very very kind, nice, friendly and interesting person!!! Every minute spending with Maurizio, Ilze and other CS-friends was wonderful for me!!! we took part in "operative" CS meeting and went to the mountains to see falling-stars... great!!! unforgettable... i have only positive emotions about my trip! Maurizio is the Godfather of couchsurfing in Italy. He was my first host and also my last host in Italy. Maurizio embodies what couchsurfers are all about. He is extremely caring, kind, generous and loving to all who step through the door of his lovely flat in Milano. Maurizio warmed my heart and reminded me that CS isn’t about anything but the experiences with the people you meet. Maurizio is a guy I admire with no doubt, he's a nomad, following nomadic life style, travelling all over, telling you interesting stories that you always like and are curious about them. Unfortunately he was being under someone's occupation all the time, so we couldnt speak so much, but I hope for the next opportunities to get more chances to get to know more about you Maurizio :)

Mau is just the best! I was meant to be staying at his place when I was travelling to Italy, but eventually I missed my flight. Anyway, he was a great help and offered place even though he had some people in already. I just realised I haven`t written a reference for Maurizio yet, shame on me!

M hosted myself and my girlfriend in his gorgeous Milano apartment, and he cooked us the most amazing Risotto I ever tasted.

He`s the perfect host, caring so much about his guests and always giving you the impression that you`re at home with him.

We also met on the Paella 2009, and he managed to make the most amazingly beautiful picture of Martine ever. Respect.

 

Maurizio is a very charming Italian gentlemen who welcomed me for a delightful dinner in his home with a few other couchsurfers; his risotto is to DIE for :) He also humored me by looking at my very amateur photos ;) thanks, Maurizio! Any opportunity you have to meet him should be eagerly taken.

Maurizio is a good spirit of Milan. Really easy going, chill out and positive person. U may feel relaxed and comfy when u're around him. Moreover he tolerates POLISH GIRLS :)

Hi is really devoted to Couchsurfing, so if you want a safe place where to stay or good company...this is the person you've been looking for...

 

After briefly meeting him at Paella 2007 and 2008 he hosted me in Milano 2009! A wonderful experience, cause Mau is an amazing person, full of stories, sweet and caring and it will be a delight to meet him again, at the next paella for sure!

 

Missing my plane to Bergamo was very annoying for the first night of my Italian holidays and Maurizio kindly offered me a last minute couch : he waited for me til 1.30am...How can I sum this encounter up? So great! Maurizio is the embodiment of the CS spirit, a trustworthy man whith whom I shared a lot of nice moments as a dinner at one of his friend's house, an aperitif in Milano, interesting talks and so on... He was so considerate : I just felt as if I was at home! Hope to see you very very soon. Finally I haven't missed my plane by chance... ;)

unfortunately we didn't get to know him like many of our predecessors, but we sure are grateful for having been taken in by a CS legend. thanks so much again!

 

A good organizer, always ready to help people and to solve problems, he is one of the souls of the CS community in Italy.

What can I say about Maurizio? This is a CS Godfather, I think...;))) After being hosted for 2 days I can say so much, that maybe I would better write a book about him some day...))) Well, he definetely has a charisma, that attracts so many people to him...and u immediately feel a part of the process, I mean CS...This was my first experience...and I could never imagine that the whole idea can be so fantastic!!! Maurizio probably is a magician, because he is so good at catching beautiful moments with his camera...Moreover, he is crazy about making people happy!!! well, I have been in contact with maurizio since last summer when he was planing to come over to oslo. we actually met just half year later throw a common cs friend when I was visiting milan and end up having a dinner in his place. I've meet Mau last year at his place but I wasn't a CS member that time. From the beginnig he seems to be a funny and friendly guy, so now I can only confirm my experience.

Well, he doesn't need my words as he is full of positive references gathered during these years.
But when you meet such kind of person, you have the need to let all the other people know how special he is, how you can feel fine and comfortable with him around. You can have so much intelligent and pure fun with him! You'll see truthfullness in his eyes, at first sight.And he is also a perfect cook!!
And the best part of the story is that I still have so many things to know and discover about this man ... and you know, you can see how things will end by the way they begin.

We met during the second CS Chocolate meeting in Tampere. I couldn't host him, but we had lunch on the day he arrived. Maurizio is a very interesting person and a really good photographer.

Mau is a very, very, very special person whom I happened to meet at a critical point in my life. He has been to me a life-long friend, elder brother, father, lover (in a meaning of very close person who takes care) and teacher, giving his care, love and knowledge without consideration and also giving shelter under the pink bridge of Milan for both me and my friend. That few days I have spent with Mau have been filled with peace, harmony and open horizonts. His flats in both Riga and Milan were bastions of calmness where all the cares of everyday life passed away. I'm looking forwards to meeting Mau again and again, and again since it's magical to meet a stranger and a few hours later farewell from a close friend.

Now if there's a person one can feel perfectly at ease with it's definitely Maurizio. He's radiating friendliness and warmth and it's very easy to see that everything he does and says is from heart. One of the people I trusted from the first second, also very good company for a conversation, hang-around and party. A real sweetheart.

 

Maurizio is one of those people that you will probably remember after a meeting, even if it's a big one... He is friendly and funny.

 

The only thing I can say that I'm really sorry not spending more time with this guy. We had so much fun in Milan at CS dinner party. He is always ready to give a people a good laugh. :)

When I was staying at his place I was joking about leaving a negative reference but after staying there I just cannot do it even as a joke. He is the true sprit of couchsurfing and probably even an angel. He loves to host persons and it can be seen. He's totally dedicated to his visitors and makes his best and even more to make sure that your trip is succesful. He cooked us a great dinner on the night we arrived to his place and helped us with our crazy plans even in the middle of the night although he had to work on the following day. He is just great, maybe a bit wacky, but you should really get to know this person if possible. :P

Maurizio was my host at the NYE party in Taormina. He was very available and helpful from the first contact.

Since i met Mau i am thinking about him every day trying find words for ref.Still i am not sure if words i am looking for even exist. I was waiting to meet Mau for such a long time. Never had experience like that before. From the first moment, I was feeling very very relaxed and safe beeing next to him. there was no taboo subject, no fake politeness, no embarrassment. Hundreds of people simply cant be wrong if they are talking about his warm. He can easily open your eyes and heart to perceive sth new, sth deep. That’s why I thing about him like about good teacher, but not so fast!! Hehe he’s still have a child in his heart and that is so beautiful! He’s just special Man. Dead Ernest and joker in one minute. Mau is my hero!! he saved my life in Milano;))
He was the one who helped me when I needed it the most!! he not only took me home when I was homless but what is more importnat he made me feel better when I was down and completly depressed! I will never forget what he did for me! I am sure he is my friend and I can always count on him...and other people can as well. He has a big heart which is open to everybody!
I really never met anybody as good as Mau is:)
And he is also witty, wise and time with him is just the best, you can count on some good laugh and nice conversation.

I am so grateful to Maurizio for everything. He managed to support me not only in Milano but also in Genova and other cities. And his nae seems to be known for every CS member.

I had a wonderful bed on the second level of the flat, stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the 2 wonderful CS dinners. Unfortunately I could not attend the big meeting on Saturday, but it seems that the meetings are very usual for Milano community. They are doing so many wonderful things together!

I was planning to come to Milano group 2 years BD party with some of my friends, but in the end they couldn't make it. So I had possibility to go alone or stay at home - it would the first time I would try to get around in Milano alone. But - I was really encouraged to come knowing that there are people who love Latvia - Maurizio and Massimo. So I decided that I cannot miss that party and I still do not regret even one minute spent in this party thanks to Maurizio and amazing Milano group. I knew a lot about Maurizio (I was following CS community news in Latvia) before I met him finally in real life - amazing CS spirit in him :) He made a short introduction to Italian culture and CS community in Italy during the party - thank you very much for that - it was exactly what I needed!:) Hope to meet him very soon again at CS meeting or for any other occasion in Milano :)

Once upon a time there was a guy who had 45 cs friends in common with me and which I had never ever met... and all the time these people were telling me how it was possible not to have met such a wonderful and special person like Maurizio.
Then came the day some friends of mine, very special Latvian friends needed a host in Milano, and so these friends met Maurizio even before I did!! well now I've met him a few times and it's as if I met a brother who moved far away. A marvelous hosting creature, caring and loving all people around him and even those who are fare away. The world needs a few Maurizio's scattered here and there to make it better and kinder.

What a chance!!! We were turning back to home and on the way we came across Ufkum and this guy who is really nice, warm and perfect. Island was another good memory with Maurizio,Ufkum and Halim. I wish I could manage to come to Milan and we can go on having enjoyable time there (also trips with cheap flights;)).

 

I met with Maurizio only briefly a few times in Istanbul.
I felt that he was a warm and honest person with much to say and contribute to the discussions that were going on.
But alas, our time was too short to really get to know each other too well.

After I heard a lot about him I’m glad that I finally met him, he organized for my arriving an aperitive and thanks to Maurizio I met a part of fantastic group of CS members in Milan.
Between 2 sicilians like us it is natural and spontaneous find a lot in common for sure. He seems an amazing and social person and no need more words for describe him or rather he is not only one of the most popular member in CS but he is simply a real man honest and sensitive always ready to help you.
I’m quite sure we will meet again other many times but where and when I don’t know! See you man!

Maurizio has given us one of the most precious gifts possible on CS: he has shown us the spirit of couchsurfing. Not only did he share some of his own experiences with us, he did also kindly invite us to an italian tradition called "aperitivo" for dinner with many other couchsurfers where we experienced the italian warmth and friendliness, instantly making new good friends. Maurizio took care of us, shared everything with us, proposed his help to us whenever we'd need it. He made us experience Milano by night and showed us a special "portafortuna". We cannot believe how social he is, how many friends he makes and how much he takes care of all of them. He seems to have contacts and friends everywhere and to be there for every one of them whenever needed. If you want to make a sincere friend or to enlarge your network of international friends, Maurizio is the guy to ask. If you need someone to stay with, he is the one to ask. And if he asks you for your hospitality, say YES!

I had the good fortune of bumping into Maurizio while couch surfing in Førde, Norway. We took a side trip to Florø together and I witnessed Maurizio's photographic prowess in action. This man knows how to take photos!

I had a great time hosting Mauritzio. He is easy to talk to and also enjoyes a good laugh.
He is really in to couchsurfing and could tell me all about it and his experiences and give me good advice.

Let me keep it short; I have not been hosting Mau – Mau has been hosting me; showing me the world, the city, the couchsurfing project, spider webs, gothic girls and windows through the eyes and camera lens of a f***ing clever and amazing wizard. Mau is the kind of human being as well as couchsurfer, I would like one day to become – wise and warm and independent of stupid laws and stupid social norms. We met at a salsa event in Copenhagen , introduced by CS friends. Maurizio is friendly and easy to be with. No wonder why he has so many friends - everyone seems to know him :)

Showing amazing hospitality, Maurizio immediately offered me a place to stay as I asked him for a ride from Gossau to Milan. This way I not only got to hang out with him at paella but also stayed with him directly after that. He is an extremely enthusiastic CSer and I enjoyed my stay at his place very much - also thanks to the fantastic "couch", which was actually a damn comfy bed. :-)
I got the feeling Mau might be slightly disorganized due to the fact that he only found out a couple of hours before our flight was due that he could not join me after all.. ;-) But at least he kept his word and came to visit me at my parents' place a week later. A pleasure to host (showing how of children he is he immediately bonded with my little niece), but beware - he'll make you stop at least a zillion times so he can take pictures from all possible angles. ;-)

I have heard so much about Maurizio from our common friend Flavio and I finally got to meet him for the Couchsurfing Paella 2008 at Peiros house.
He is a lively, generous and interesting person and I felt like Ive known him a long time from the first time I met him. He is a great addition to the CS community !

He was filming a lot of things at the paella and made a video of me I found very touching. I think he his a living proof that there is no age to be "crazy" and enjoy !!!

Maurizio could be on the picture next to the entry "the perfect CouchSurfer" in any dictionary! It is hard to find a more passionate, entertaining and caring host and thanks to Maurizio we had a very lovely time when he and Ilze hosted us both in his original hometown Taormina as well as his current city Milan shortly afterwards. After years of online interactions and a much too brief meet at the 2008 paella it was inspiring to finally spend more time together and get to know each other properly. Mau does amazing things for the Italian as well as the worldwide CS community and even more amazing things for his guests. We really hope to host you two somewhere around the world soon and pay back a little of the very generous hospitality you showed to us :o)

 

Mau generously gave up his freedom for a weekend to be one of Vince's bitches and the primary Paella photographer. Everywhere we turned, there he was, camera in hand, snapping away. Next time, I hope I get a chance to speak with him more and find out where he draws his great energy from!

 

Maurizio, the Paparazzi Team Leader! He is a true Couchsurfer, so outgoing and open to others. We discovered that we share the same birth date! I hope to see him again this time maybe at our birthday party!

 

Maurizio was very kind in helping me out with the prepartions for the CouchSurfing Paella 2008. He created a web page with all the attendees and added new stuff there on a daily basis. Furthermore, he's just the great guy I imagined him to be. :-) A month later I could spend another weekend with Maurizio at Jacob's place and this time I really had the time to get to know Mau better. He's fucking awesome!

Update: I surfed his couch in Milano for the birthday party weekend he organized and I couldn't have wished for a better host. Maurizio's all positive energy and it's an honour to count among my close friends!

 

Maurizio seems like such a nice guy. I can really imagine how he is gatherings all his CS in Italy. I didnt know about him before the Paella but was impressed of the statistic on the attendees he created online. At the Paella you saw him busy all time and i would vouch for that he was 1 of the most popular members there. Thats why we had the joke about "you wanna be my boyfriend" like in Borat. Good action, great funny. Cant wait to meet him again. Very reliable and social guy but what i can say so far.

Maurizio is such a sweetheart. Everytime he came to a meeting, his eyes would just light up, happy to see every individual person. He's laid back, and wonderful to talk to.

 

i met maurizio at a meeting in milano. it was a little gathering and he brought his couchsurfer with him. it was a really nice night and i am glad i was able to meet him.

Eventually I managed to meet Maurizio and he was every bit as nice as I expected him: friendly, warm, enthusiastic and a real organization man! I bet he must be a wonderful host, as well!

My visit with Maurizio was short, but sweet... He welcomed me into his home whole~heartedly... I had only one night in Milan, and he took us (two other CS's he was hosting & i) out on the town, to meet his local friends! It was so wonderful to be welcomed by him & his beautiful friends!!

This was my first couchsurfing experience... & it really could not have been any better...

Maurizio hosted me in Milan and I have to say that he prepared really unforgettable memories for me. Except very comfortable bed and very very delicious food he also organized a CS meeting which especially made my "brother Renato" :)) happy, for who this was his first CS experiences.

I met Maurizio in a small pub with other couchsurfers, he was a quite nice and friendly guy ;) and I also hope to meet him at Tampere!

Mau replied me immediately while I sent out several request for potential help, he was so willing to take me in that he even ask if I can cancel the hostel so that I can save my cash which was supposed to use to buy the flight ticket. I met Maurizio at the Bremen -End of-the -Month-meeting. He came here by plane to visit us. That´s really fantastic! He´s an extraordinary, very friendly and open-minded guy, you can be lucky to call him a friend, such persons are rare to find!!!

 

We met on Bremen meeting where he were guest for a day while his weekend-trip. Interesting person, nice talk - one day for sure I go to Milano ;o)

Sometimes, good things take a while. It was on the Milano invasion when I met Maurizio first but it was so crowded in our house that I could only exchange two or three sentences with him. Then, when I came to Milano half of the CSers there including Maurizio had left for Brunico that weekend... OK, my fault, I should have checked the Milano group before booking my flight ;-) Well, finally when he came to our end-of-the-month-meeting - nice surprise by the way - we had the chance to talk a bit more. We enjoyed a really nice evening together along with many other people. So, now it´s my turn again to come to Milano and continue the party. But attention, it´s most likely that this time i will be supported by hopefully many Bremen CSers as a sort of counter invasion, so be prepared ;-)

Maurizio is super active, hosting rivers of travellers and he's a drivng force for the whole group. A lof of his guests come from the east of europe, I sometimes wonder why he has this special connection to those countries, there must be a secret behind it...
He's always been a positive presence in the group, organizing and helping people out, to be sincere he's way more helpful and supportive than I will ever be maybe, one day I went to a dinner at his place with other 20 couchsurfers and he wasn't in town either :-o. Anyway, although we don't know each others that well, he always had a smile and a nice word for me, I like him as a person and I hope we get to know each others more. He's open minded and very easy to get along with, I'm afraid he's also armed with that sarcastic sense of humor I seem to be famous for around here, I'd better watch out ehhehe. see u sooon!

After having met so many people in his flat, after so many wonderful discussions from very silly topics to serious ones, after having created not-newtonian fluid, after having taken care about life, I can only say that it's the person I would love to travel with, sharing together a part of the path of this crazy and bellissima vita.

I had a a very very positive impression about Maurizio, we made the peace after the Cazzeggio flash mob, I hope to see him again and again!!

 

He not only leaded the organization team for the GREAT weekend of our invasion, from picking us up from the airport, video shooting included, suppers, lunchs, aperitivos, a football game, the amazing Freeze Milano event, photo shooting at his place, the picnic and... and... and... i dont remember what else...! ah... yes!! he hosted 4 people at once! wow! Maurizio is just wonderful!!! First of all my flight was horribly late and I arrived to Milan after 5 instead of midnight! He came to pick me up from the station and finally took me home. I had met him in Barcelona in early 2008. We just exchanged greeting and had walked to the disco. But in Feb 2009, I again met up with Maurizio in Riga. We had a good chat and exchanged many views. Maurizio had always a friendly smile in his face, I liked his company during the calçotada power (although I changed my seat to another table, hehehee)
Now I understand the Milano collective is a nice community and I liked to meet some of the even if it was not so long and with a LOT of other people!

Maurizio is a lovely person, I have known him through CS and we become good friends: he's that kind of persone you alwys know you can trust and ask help. He is always there with his smile and pragmatism. He'is a persone who knows what love and pain mean.

Mauri is the best one!! He is a great photographer, especially when the subject is ME..... (it is a joke!!!).
He is a person very available and polite. I adore Mauri and I hope to travel soon with him: I believe that he is a good companion to travel and to have parties!!

A great Italian, always up for a party, a bit of belly dancing or any other madness you can think of. If you go to Milan, no mater who you stay with, you will probably run into Maurizio, if you don't your very unlucky.

Maurizio! It would be hard for me to find someone that has so much of a couchsurfing spirit!
I met him a couples times during my trip in milano, and i am so glad to know him. If you have any chances to do the same don't hesitate he has so much to teach and to share ( and i am not only speaking about his delicious risoto! ; ) ). A heart of gold!

 

Mau hosted me in Milano during the hot New Year and Christmas time. The whole trip to Italy happened only thanks to him, because he invited me to his place and then I bought tickets to Milano.
Before meeting Mau I thought I knew what hospitality was, but he widened my understanding of how host can treat his guests.
Mau is smart, interesting to talk with, tolerant, kind and caring!
But in fact I'm just not able to find enough words to describe what an amazing person he is!

Maurizio is on the short list of people I admire from now on. He hosted me in Milano. Maurizio is the best host you can ever imagine. Always caring about guests, giving them the best of himself, really creating all the memories of the trip, letting all guests feel they are the most important guests in his life; while in the same time giving the freedom to do what people want. So for me to host ideally is to host like he does. This was about Maurizio-host.

Now - Maurizio-Csurfer. I saw someone wrote somewhere: "Maurizio is CouchSurfing and CouchSurfing is Maurizio". So, these words are neither exagirated nor untrue. Its completely true. He's the Pure CS-Spirit, that's what I would say!

Now, Maurizio-personality. He's fascinating. Very cheery, wise, kind, modest and creative. Just imagine: Mau combines technical and IT-skills with making wonderful touching pictures and being an expert in cooking and food.

I would finish with "I love you" but people would misunderstand me :)) So, Maurizio, big THANKS to you, and I'm quite sure we'll meet again and many times! (sorry for making your profile page that longer :)

Maurizio is such a great person and perfect host!! he made me feel so welcome!! Some words to describe Mao will be: open-minded, generous, friendly, easygoing, funny, curious, intelligent and he have a kind heart!!)
and even better! but my english is too scanty to describe him in full measure.
and I met some of his friends.. we had a great time during my "surfing" at Mao's place.

He´s a great person, very interesting to talk to - and always up for anything. I was invited as his house for a very nice evening - he was an excellent host. I couldn´t yet test/taste his cooking skills many people I heard talking about!!

I know him now better from the time of my last reference and can only confirm what I wrote. I even had the possibility to taste his cooking skills (my mark is 83/100) and know him even better as a person. He´s such a great guy, ready to help everyone in need, whatever it may be. I am always surprised at how many stories he has to tell!! (And I thought I had nice stories to tell ...)But I guess that come with age :-)) Don´t worry Mau, you´re not soooo old ... "Maurizio is CS and CS is Maurizio", that´s how easy it is if someone asked me to sum up Mau in only one sentence.

 

Maurizio is one of those people you meet and automatically trust and adore. He takes wonderful care of all his guests. I loved my time at his Couchsurfing bustling flat. He even had a gathering where I got to meet about 30 people on my first day there and got to eat awesome pasta twice in a row so that was great! If yo uget a chance to meet or sure with Maurizio your super lucky!

MAURIZIO IS SO GREAT, CUTE AND FRIENDLY PERSON! TALKING WITH HIM LIFE SEEMS EASY AND COLOURFUL, JUST KEEP IN TOUCH WITH HIM AND ALL DAYS WILL BE FULL OF WARM FEELINGS. :)

First I was amazed by his creatively decorated flat and then by him itself :) Full of positive energy and with good sense of humour. It was very nice to meet him!!!

As we can notice, he is such a professional host and active member in the csProject. Of course I can’t remember much of anyone the 31th night, but I had the opportunity of meeting him once more – sober – in Jakob’s place. Ah! and I still have his PROFESSIONAL card in my wardrobe’s door, so I can copy one day! :D

Though I was able to spend only short time with (mostly while nut cracking at his place :D) I don't hesitate to say he's a really easy going person with a great sense of humour and good art taste.

 

I met him firstly on a party in his house and 2 days later, we spend a really nice day together during a trip around Varese. He´s a very friendly and open-minded guy, who loves to feed you with chestnuts;-)
Hope to see him again and to spend more time with him.

I think Maurizio represents the true spirit of couch surfing. He's very generous, reliable, enthusiastic and incredibly willing to go the extra mile for everybody. You can tell he care about evry single soul he meet. He's the only sicilian guy I ever met that forgot how to swear properly (don't be surprised if he throw a "Ciumbia" in the middle of a conversation").If you are in Milan do not miss the opportunity to meet him, you won't regret it!

Maurizio is a very warm guy. He was friendly and suggested a great city for our the next stop on our trip. Cant wait to see all the pictures he took of our gathering!

i met Maurizio yesterday and we talked for about 4 hours. however i feel like we're old friends and we are so connected. even if it was just 4 hours, now i am missing jacob and maurizio already, probably because i had dinner myself, haha. maurizio is such a kind hearted person with TRUE and STRONG cs spirit. i am so inspired by all the stories he shared with me, his CS stories, life experiences as well as his philosophy. they are so positive and encouraging. i learned very important things about life from Maurizio. and if i can, i really want to help with the CS adoption project!

Mau is a unique person to me. He always makes me feel comfortable and at ease. I'm never bored when he's around and I love sharing good laughs and serious talks with him. Thank you for everything!

we met at CS milan meetings and he was giving me some references of other CS's in spain. although we didn't get to talk a lot, he is a genuine person and has a very good impression. we'll probably meet in barcelona in jan. 2008. :)

 

It isn't so easy to say the good mood on him. But relax, and recap:

He is extremely friendly with everyone, ready to have party, drink and have great dinner with friends. He loves organize meeting and invasions to make everyone feel in the real CS mood.
He loves to host, and have around new people everyday: this is the only reason which we can explain why he hosted 100 in a half year.
He loves to travel: with Flo and Sara, we spent 3 great days in Lyon (drinking, partying, walking and flying).
He has a great passion for photography, and most of my favourite photos has been takes with his cameras. (like my profile)

To finish quickly, he is one of the trustable and friendly people not only in CS, but in the world. He is a joy have a good friend like him, he is really a hero!

Maurizio is a very friendly person, very cool and open minded.

 

I met Maurizio in Lyon while we where waiting for a group of couchsurfer for going to a CS party in my city. It was cold, dark and crowded of people. BUT being at his side and talking with him make you feel warm, englighted and like if the time has stopped. He seems to be so wise with his bear ;-) I really appreciate this moment (unfortunately to short). I wish i'll meet him again at another CS gathering. See you soon Maurizio ;-)

There is something bizarre with Maurizio. He always has in his hands this thing called "camera", and he's always using it. I mean always. And he's so funny using it ! He's another member of the "Fantastic Four from Milan", so another crazy italian people with whom I had great times partying and walking in the streets.

I really enjoyed our talk in Bremen, sorry it was too short. I hope we can meet again, there are many things to talk about, perhaps we invite Flo as well. I was amazed by the number of people you hosted.

I'm so late writing this reference, so at least let it be a grand one.
Maurizio is probably the person that most embodies the CS spirit in my eyes, he truly deserves his ambassador flag! His cooking is internationally renowned, his photographs are works of art, and he's even saved a CSer's life. But my favorite thing about him is his childhood stories, especially the one about him, his grandfather and the pharmacist :D

I met Maurizio at many meetings in Milan. Always with some guests and his camera. He's also a great Amphitrion, and the parties at his home are great!

Maurizio was a very nice and friendly guest on our party for the Bremen invasion. Since I had not much time to talk to him I'm really looking forward to meet him again in Milano. Otherwise he seemed to be really invovled in the HospEx-community. And that is something I like a lot!!! Keep up the good work.

What a cool guy! Silent presence, warm hearted and great CS Spirit. I enjoyed my second travel to Bremen in Maurizio's company: ..for strange coincidences I met 2 times some of the Milan "Invaders" because I recognized him even over a great distance.

I have to say i did not have the pleasure to get to know him well yet. But he's one of the most active CS I know. Im surprised by his compulsive clicks and i find him a very nice, outgoing and active guy! We will have the chance to talk more soon i bet...

Nice person especially dressed as magician merlino. We met sometimes in Milano to the CS group meetings. Update. Me met more times in Milan meetings, he is really in the Cs spirit everytime, I hope to travel with him somewhere soon...
Upd. Now I can say he is really a very good friend, travelling togheter was amazing.

 

It's very difficult for me to leave a reference to Maurizio... He's a so kind, generous, easygoing and friendly person that I can't find a word to reference him!! Maybe fantastic, but it's not enough! I can say, eaven if I've never been his guest, that he's one of the best host in this website, just watching him in how he looks after his guests!!

 

I have hosted Maurizio during the invasion days. He is a very smart, warm, polite, and interesting person, I was really lucky to have him as a guest.

I've the feeling you can talk of anything with him. Extremely friendly. His wine tastes very good. His place is wonderful!!!

Maurizio has been a great host! He was prepared with a map and everything to give us tips where to go in Milano. Then he took us out for food and to have the VERY BEST chocolate icecream ever! Maurizio was my first host and I am so happy I got to spend the night at his house. He gave us the best advice, cooked the most delicious food and let us to join a party at his house! He's a very talented photographer and has a warm personality. I really felt myself welcome. Hope to see you again, welcome to Helsinki!

All days what we spent together was amazing. I wait when i'll go to Italy to visit Maurizio.

 

I don't know if "luck" comes into couchsurfing, because feeling lucky to meet yet another amazing person seems to be my default experience in this community. But having Maurizio as a friend in Milan, in Italy, and on CS makes me feel very lucky indeed! He has the knack of making you feel safe and comfortable immediately, like a friend of many years; and completely welcome and relaxed in his home and in his company. He is simply a lovely and deeply caring person, who has been through a lot and is still in love with life. He is also a wonderful photographer, with an amazing eye. You would be very lucky to have him show you his photos, some of which moved me to tears. And the risotto! He came out late at night to meet me to take me to his place, and his knowledge of Milan is wider and deeper and much more interesting than the paid tour I went on.

Maurizio's house is always open, to guests as well as to the Milano CS community... and he is great in making you feel at home in one sec!

We have spent a while coming back to Padova from a very nice meeting in the hills :) I hope next time I will be have much more time to encourage You to visit north part of Poland ;)
