Groups I Belong ToCouch Information Couch Available: Coffee or a drink Preferred Gender: AnyI prefer if you have filled out your profile before requesting. I don't really care as much what you are like, only that you care about being a part of CS community.
That being said...
We generally don't host for more that 3 days, but we may be be able to arrange something if necessary.
I live with 3 other people in a converted warehouse in Brooklyn. It's two blocks from subway stop, so it takes only 15 minutes to get to the city. We are east of Williamsburg, which is one of the hipper, young areas of New York. Our neighborhood is full of artists and musicians all in their 20s and 30s. There are lots of cheap markets nearby, as well as some local bars.
It is very easy to get here from JFK airport, only two subway lines. I'd love to show you around and hang out if I am not too busy with work or school.
We don't have pets and if you want to smoke you can either go to the roof or downstairs. Friends (16)

Personal DescriptionI am currently in the graduate student at NYU studying interactive telecommunication (http://itp.nyu.edu). I am especially interested in interactive environments that connect our physical world to the computer(virtual) world through various forms of sensing and interaction.
I hope to use my creations to encourage and make people aware of how to live more sustainability. I would also like to create interactive installations that engage inspire young children. How I Participate in CSBy giving couchsurfers an authentic perspective on the cultures and subcultures of the current city I live in. From Danuta Bogusiak Munchberg, Germany Aug 24 Positive Even though Michael and his roomates hosted us just for one night, we enjoyed our stay there very much. Their apartment is a cool place and the view from their roof is amazing. Michael was very helpful during our stay, he came to get us when we got lost, gave us directions and sent us to cool places and we really appreciate that. Thank you so much for hosting us
From Ilaria Ruta Rome, Italy Aug 12 Positive Michael is a very lovely person, available, open minded and I stayed very well in his company. he helped me much and he showed me a very wonderful place ; )

From MIRA & DERK-JAN Amsterdam, Netherlands Jul 28 Positive I met Michael at his very cool block in Brooklyn. Very arty type, and too good for this world. Met him again at their also very cool and arty block party. Whoever gets the chance to host him, you won't regret it. He is welcome in Amsterdam anytime, holler up! Greetz
From Julia Teylor Smirl Brooklyn, United States Jul 28 Positive You couldn't genetically design a better roommate. Mike is solid, light-hearted, creative, and exceptionally kind. He makes blasphemously tasty cupcakes... And I'm pretty sure he can build lasers.
From Andrew Bensley Canberra, Australia Jul 15 Positive michael is a genius and has very cool hair.
leading me to believe that a persons intelligence is in direct proportion to hair length.
he helped me solve a problem on my mac that had been plaguing me for months and and also gave the down low on the local cafe scene.
michael, if you're ever in canberra...
mi coucha su coucha.
From Lilie Le Prévost New York, United States Jul 2 Positive We live together, talk, and cook, watch movies, argue, debate things, laugh, and joke.. Just like any normal family :) michael is well traveled and interested in learning new things. He's concious about the environment all the well being of others. He's a good person and someone you can talk to for a long time and still be intrigued. He has an interesting taste in music and the arts, and knows anything and everything there is to know about MacBooks hahaha
From Jacquie and Mike Van Wagner Newbury Park, United States Nov 15, 2008 Positive sadly, we'll probably never get to host michael; he's already got a bed in this town. but when he's here, we'll be ready to pop the cap off a beer, uncork a bottle of vino, and heat up the stove!
wherever michael is - it's the place to be. he has his finger on the pulse of cool.
if you get the honor to host or be hosted by this guy - jump at it! he's a second generation surfer who really gets it.
From Harry Rajeswaran Melbourne, Australia Dec 11, 2007 Positive I couldn't recommend a better couch to surf in the city of angels, Mike is the best guy to stay with, we checked out bands, went clubbing and feasted on oversized dishes of pasta, it was so much fun I will return to his couch to complete my travels on a high.
From Edita Belgrade, Serbia Dec 1, 2007 Positive Staying with Mike was really interesting, especially riding on his motorcycle and folding papers for a "book" with his friends :)Thanks for everything.

From Viktoria Vass Reading, United Kingdom Aug 29, 2007 Positive Mike is such a cool guy that not even his tight pants can stop him from being cool, I really enjoyed the time I spent with him.
From WELCOMETOVIENNA Vienna, Austria Aug 21, 2007 Positive i met michael at a party close to vienna, where he joined dirk. eventhough he was on his "grand tour", travelling all over europe, he seemed to be still interested in the people and in the city.
