William Ricketts Sanctuary is a MUST see in our area it features Kiln-fired clay sculptures of Aboriginal figures set discreetly among rocks, fern trees and Mountain Ash. A testament to William Ricketts's philosophy - that all people need to act as custodians of the natural environment in the same way as the Aborigines, the inspiration for much of his work. The gardens contain a total of 92 ceramic sculptures of people and animals which merge with the natural surroundings. This truely is a unique experience...have a look at my photo album

Also in our area are a number of other parks and gardens

Alfred Nicholas Gardens

Dandenong Ranges National Park

George Tindale Memorial Gardens

My son, Damien's business "Cloud 9 Recording Studio" is sponsoring the Rubys Unsigned Bands Competition at the local music venue in Belgrave "Rubys" every Wednesday night for the next month or two

Interests

Have enjoyed watching our kids grow up and become competent young adults, sometimes it does seem very surreal they have grown up so quickly, everyone tells you that when they are little, just you don't think that is the case, until you turn around one day and realise they have grown up and the years have just flown by, luckily we have a big age gap to Shanice to still keep us feeling young....TRAVEL...I love sharing my life and passions with my family and friends, both old and new, that includes those in cyberspace, Bush Walking, Bird Feeding, Beach Walking, Photography http://www.samsays.com/ I like Sam's pictures, Meditation, http://www.higherbalance.com/ Alternative Health Research, Alternative Dental health http://mizar5.com/mm.html Integrative Medicine, Music as medicine/Sound Healing, Crystals and Crystal Therapy, Dr Gaynor Mitchell's work with cancer patients, this is worth a read for everybody to know about, as we all at one time or another unfortunately will know someone with cancer - information gives us all informed choices for our health.... http://www.gaynoroncology.com/
http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/index.html and http://www.mercola.com/ are both great research web sites for lots of subjects.... http://periotherapy.com/ a must for everyone to understand how important our dental routine is to our overall health...this is still a relatively unknown subject and one that certainly needs to be understood...
One other place worth a mention is Sanoviv and the work of Dr Myron Wentz, go to this web site and click the link to View Virtual Tour http://www.sanoviv.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=27&Itemid=31
I love watching my children play their musical instruments, very interested in Colour Therapy, studied with Pascale Osanz many years ago in both Spirale http://www.spirale.com.au/ and Aura Soma - Colour Healing http://www.aura-soma.net/ Property Investing, Trading on the Share Market, Freddy Silva's work and DVD's http://www.cropcirclesecrets.org/ David Icke's books http://www.davidicke.com/index.php/ Sacred Geometry, http://www.crystalinks.com/ Quantum Physics, http://www.janosh-art.com/ Holistic Medicine, Energy Medicine - the work and research of Richard Gordon

http://www.dontolman.com/ also http://www.thefdr.com/ this book is awesome....
Metaphysics, Natural Remedies, Nutritional Medicine, Homeopathy, Aromatherapy, Flower Essences, Art work of Alex Grey http://www.alexgrey.com/ Sewing Patchwork, going to the Gym, going to the movies with my friends, meeting new people and I love reading non fiction books mainly.....anything that challanges me to expand my thinking and entertain new ideas....if you have watched any of the above links and wish to email me your thoughts.... I would love to hear from YOU......

One day, one year, I want to return and revisit one of my all time favourite places for at least a week and go to the Lilac Festival on Mackinac Island in Michigan USA held every year in June for about the last 60 years..... http://www.mackinac.com/

Dream of going to the Alsace Region of France and staying for at least one month. Would LOVE to experience the Colmar Christmas market...

I want to be able to look back on my life and know that I have had dreams and then had dreams come true...so many people just dream about "one day" and that day never seems to come for them...so I am making sure to create what I want in my life through my choices and taking action to make them happen....one more step closer to this reality was joining this wonderful web site and meeting so many beautiful new friends....all over this planet we call home....

"Your life is the canvas, your thoughts are the paint. The movements you make are the brush strokes on the canvas called life. It is entirely up to each individual artist what style of picture he paints. Each and every day he wakes a new canvas awaits."

Philosophy

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away!!"

To make a positive difference in the world and the lives of others because I have lived, I love meeting people and sharing life experiences with them, helping others to see outside the square whilst challenging myself to forever continue to do the same - to learn and to teach within the same breath.....I love sharing information and education so others can make an informed choice about how they are choosing to live, what they are choosing to eat and use in their daily lives, love going to seminars and expanding my views on all sorts of subjects....meeting wonderful people each time I attend another function.....enjoying the challenge when I return home to intergrate what I have learned into my daily life.....so long as I see the benefit for improving our way of life.....I feel I will be forever a student....sometimes a teacher.....

I heard a saying many years ago that rang true for me, it went something like this... "I live my life each day in such a way that I am not ashamed to greet the person I see in the mirror each morning"

Types of People I enjoy

Anyone and everyone as we all have a story to tell...

I would like to host people/families in our home that are happy to learn and to share each others customs and cultural views on life and living, and if you offered to cook us a VEGETARIAN meal from your home country that would be wonderful. We would be happy to show you around our area...Please do not ask to just stay a night for the bed...I expect you to stay a full day and night with us at least...this way we can all learn a little and share...

What do these numbers mean?

This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.

In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.

When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.

I am so happy I got to stay with Nicole and her family for four days in their beautiful home. I had a great time! Nicole was nice enough to show me around a lot (including seeing kangaroos) in her area. Her youngest daughter, Shanice, and I went on the steam train the runs right through her backyard, as well as making a gingerbread house for Christmas. Nicole is an excellent cook and a very friendly person. Hope to see you in Norway soon!

So Nicole is pretty much awesome. My best friend and I met Nicole and her husband in Milford Sound and we loved talking to them. I didn't have any experience with couch surfing, but they had such high praise for the community that I decided to join. I hope that everyone in the CS world gets the chance to meet such wonderful people. Nicole, I really hope that I get a chance to visit you in Australia some day.

I was standing at the side of the road looking for a short lift in the South Island of New Zealand. Nicole and Peter picked me up and even offered me the next day two travel with them again. Instead of just having a short lift I had a lot of fun doing siteseeing for two days with those wonderful and nice people. And in the end Nicole teached me how to use couchsurfing, I joined before coming to NZ, but was not sure how to use it, so this is GREAT, now I can CS...

I met Nicole & her family through a mutual CS friend. When they stayed at my house it was a wonderful experience. So very genuine and kind and just all around fun to hang out with. We've met again a few years later and have always kept in touch through CS (and FB). So nice to know good people from the other side of the world!

Nicole, Peter, and Shanice surfed with us for three nights. The came for one night and we liked them so much that we asked them to stop again on their way back through ATL. The were great guests and I hope felt right at home. Shanice is such a lovely girl and a GREAT traveler. I can't wait to go to Australia to visit with them. By the way, Peter even helped me mow the lawn!!

Nicole, Peter and Shanice were great guests and the time together passed all too quickly. I think my entire family enjoyed having them here and would love to host them again one day. We look forward to making the trip to Australia one day, or at least sending one or both of the kids for a visit.

I met Nicole and her daughter Shanice while they were surfing with my good friends. She struck me as a wonderful, well-traveled woman with a quick smile and a sweet personality.

If given the chance, get to know Nicole and you won't be disappointed! I wish her well as she travels around the world and of course, I wish her beautiful family the best!
