Noel Hidalgo

 

I met Noel the very first time during the "high line" bike trip in NYC end Dec 2009. Shortly after he entertained a group of 10 traveling CS members that gathered a Union Square at (-10°C!) for a guided walk, impressive. I admire his straight forward way of thinking and acting. And I thank him and Emily for hosting me about a week in their beautiful home where I felt @ home. Always welcome in Brussels!

He's the quintessential couchsurfer AND host. Thanks to Noel I've met many couchsurfers who come through NY, and my life has been richer for it.

It was a warm and very cosy evening we spent at Noel and Emily's appartement. I really enjoyed our company, our talks and the food! You guys cook awesome!!!!!!!!!

if i'm going to use one word to describe Noel, it's brilliant, i met him in a couch surfing gathering for three days and it was really days to remember. unfortunatly my bad english prevented me of holding long conversations with him as he got a point of view, you really have to listen to, i hope i could meet you again to have much better discussions.

Noel, along with Anita and Dan, were our hosts for a bike tour of NYC. What a great way to meet some locals, especially people as outgoing and sincere as Noel.

Noel really is a great person! We met on a biking trip in NYC and some days after. He is smart, funny, open, creative and has a good taste of music. Noel invited a bunch of couchsurfers that he only just met to celebrate NYE (including an improvised couchsurf) at his place. But...watch his hands when photographed together, before you know it you'll have bunny ears on every picture :)

noel is good people and he can talk to you about anything, especially dutch bikes and state politics.

 

I spent an intense couple days with Noel in New York and he made a very significant impression on me. I've been following his journeys with the Luck of Seven ever since, and I have to say... I'm enthralled and inspired. If you have a couch to offer Noel, offer it. You'll be repaid in kind with a terrific experience, a fascinating friend and thoughtful conversation.

Noel made a stop on his world tour at my place in Honolulu for a couple nights. Though unforeseen circumstances cut his stay short, we still had a damn good time spontaneously exploring the island in a variety of ways, from partying with other Honolulu couchsurfers to going on a moped grand prix to eating exquisite local cooking. Noel is a creative and visionary individual, and it was a privilege to be part of his trip.

noel was a very interesting and intelligent guy and i look forward to seeing him in some other city in the world!

about noel , he's great to just hang out with!! there are men , who talk about people , places , others who talk about events , and still others , who talk about ideas !! noel belongs to the last,rarest and my favourite category !!

Noel is really interesting person and nice to be aroud. he stole my internet a lot, but i forgive..because he is doing an important project. come visit again soon Noel! maybe we will even get to go out together..

Noel embarked on a remarkable circumnavigational journey. It was fascinating to meet him, even for a couple of hours, and hear about it and his exceptional job.

Unfortunately I couldn`t host him but we had chance to drink something together.

 

Noel is a very special person.
He is passionate about what he does.
He has interesting conversation.

Noel is a seeker of the highest order, engaged with social and political philosophies and ethics, and yet still open to simply having a good time, sitting at the bar and enjoying a pint and being at the center of a vast web of people. If you have the opportunity to come into contact with him during his 7/7/7 trip, do not hesitate to do so - it should be rewarding for all (including all of us who simply sit at home and wait to watch the video).

Cmon, who doesn't love a set of random international meetups?

He's a nice guy to hang out with, and I am looking forward to his book and traveling experiences :-)

 

If there could be a better outcome then “extremely positive”, then this CSuring experience would fit the bill!

Noel, a true investment banker in the “Karma Economy” opened his flat and social world and welcomed me in as if we were lifelong friends, thus making sure that we’ll be put on that very same path – nice one buddy!

I had loads of unique experiences, that I would never have seen otherwise; from his lovely Greenpoint neighborhood (who know Poland exercised some sovereign claim over NYC?!), to his local bar (Spuyten Duyvil, without a doubt the coolest beer garden on this side of the Atlantic) and eateries (we fought the meat and… the meat won) and most importantly his friends: suffice to say that I got a sample of rooftop experiences that no tourist could ever lay claim too… It was like stepping into the kind of life I would have liked to lead in this city, had it been my own – THANK YOU for it all, and till we meet again, may the force be with you.

I had the chance to surf on his couch a while back, even tho we didn't have time to hang out. It was all good. He also came to canada and has the chance to met him while i was doing a gig. Cool guy. He's the x-zibit of pimp my scooter.

Awesome guy! Noel is one o f a kind, and i feel like i have know him for much longer than a day. Eventhough I didn't actually stay on his couch, I spent a fair bit of time with him in NYC and it was tons of fun! He's a sweetheart and I am going back to visit him for sure! I want to see his scooter out on the road.
