Personal DescriptionI am wife to Aidan and mother to two really great children. We are 42 and 43 and our children are a girl aged 8 and a boy aged 14. In 2006 we homeschooled our children for a year and during this time spent 5 weeks in the south of France. We love to introduce our children to new cultures and languages. We had Spanish Aupair live with us for 18 months (great) and have had lots of young europeans stay with our family also as I Teach English as a Foreign Language in the summer(TEFL Teacher). I was also a foster mother to children from broken homes and we "hosted" a lot of babies and young children whose parents were unable to care for them during a difficult time in their lives. CouchSurfing ExperienceHave surfed Twice as a family both in Italy and Germany and have hosted several families and single travellers. More recently I travelled with my daughter in France, surfed and met some great people!!
Plan to do more surfing...maybe as a couple.

What do these numbers mean?
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you. References (11)10Positive 1Neutral 0Negative

From Miria Albertini Bologna, Italy Nov 18, 2010 Positive I'm lucky to have met this beautiful family. They are deeply friend with me, we started our friendship because we get along very well, and not because someone needed somelse couch or help. It's a pity we live in 2 different countries, I'd love to see them oftener. It's unique their way of being a family: children so respectful, parents so relaxed and full o life.
I'd love to met them next year!
From DANetBETTINA Albi, France Nov 6, 2010 Positive Thanks to the strikes we had the good chance to meet Myra and her daughter Grace. I liked chatting, cooking ;) and visiting Albi with them. They were very nice guests - they enchanted us and we don’t even mention their lovely Irish accent…
From SEB ET OLIVIA Toulouse, France Nov 2, 2010 Positive Well... Where do I start ? 1st of all, we had an amazing time with Myra & her daughter, Grace. They spent only 2 days with us. But when we met again for a dinner, 3 days later, it was like meeting old friends. Myra is so cheerful and open-minded that you feel immediately confortable with her. And sweet Grace is the kind of little girl that makes you want to have kids ;o)
We hope we'll see in Dublin and finally meet her husband and son. If they are half as nice as Myra & Grace, it will be a wonderful CS experience...
See you guys and thanks again for the good time !
From DieLena Cologne, Germany Jun 1, 2010 Positive I had a wonderfull time in Laytown! Myra, her husband and her children are very nice persons and together with the coastline around Laytown worth to visit. Ever again!
From Kerstin Brückner Casalfiumanese, Italy May 23, 2010 Our first contact with the NOTSOBAD family was a good time, we met a few hours before we had to leave and enjoyed their company sp that we planned to eventually pass some time together at the end of their stay. we had decided to leave them our flat in Bologna for a few weeks as long as we could stay at another family's place in Austria (instead of a simiultaneous houseswap). The first days they seemed to enjoy Bologna very much, we stayed in contact, but then we didn't hear anything from them any more and in the end they spontaneously left before we arrived. We didn't expect we had to clean, wash and repair when we came back, many of our plants had died... and any attempt at contacting them again was unsuccessful. A pity! Why? (because it was too hot in Bologna in the end?)
From Matias Castella Geneva, Switzerland Feb 23, 2010 Positive I had an awesome time at Aidan's and Myra's place. They were very welcoming and very cheerfull, helping me understand better their country and their culture. They revolutioned my way of eating by cooking so tastefull vegan recipes. Myra was worried of finding activities for me everyday, but for me exploring their alternative cooking, their way of life and listening to their travel stories was already so enrichening. Aidan has a very precise knowledge of history and politics, Myra can tell old anecdotes of America and Germany very precisely. The children were super nice, very educated and had as well very interesting hobbies.
From Jessica Gibbs Rolla, United States Jul 2, 2009 Positive Myra and Aidan were so wonderful! I miss them and their two wonderful children so much, even though I only spent two nights at their place. It was so hard to leave, but I had to. I'm so glad they let me stay the extra night! There is no doubt in my mind that when I come to Ireland again I will at least stop by and say hi. And I hope to see them in Italia soon!!
Possibly the best CSing hosts you will meet. They were so accomodating to everything!
