Nice person, positive, warm, kind and very original wardrobe... :-)

What can I NOT say about these guys?! They are AMAZING! Like everybody has said, the FOOD and overall FUN found at Orseolo is overwhelming! My time in Rome would have NOT beent he same without them! While I was sightseeing most of the day and they were working, I would come back at night to be treated to a wonderful Italian dinner and socializing with all their friends. There was always something going on. However, the hilight was the TRAM PARTY...hmmm, authentic Italian food, open bar, and all in front of the COLOSSEUM with even fireworks included at the end?! PRICELESS! All I can say is thank you SO much guys for such an unforgettable experience! Hopefully I will see u again soon, perhaps when I move to Rome? ;)

 

This reference goes to the Carlo part in Orseolo family! I've met Carlo&Carlotta during CS Camp in Geraci Siculo, where we were tent neighboors and shared great moments together. Then I had the chance to host them at my place in Milan and they have been very considerate and generous guests, bringing presents and partying with us till late though they were quite tired. See you in Rome or Cuneo for sure!

 

Met Carlo (+Carlotta) first in the great sicilian CS meeting (where everythign was perfect, except my belly 'cause of a cannoli overdose), then it was a pleasure to meet them again here in this cold land, as they were hosted by Valeria. Relly enjoyed the talks and time together during the weekend, also into the CS MI party I organized. See you then in Cuneo again maybe?;)

Thanks to Matteo, I found a place to stay on my first night in Roma but for me it was far since I was working in the center. I hope we meet soon in more relaxed circumstances. He appears as a very cool person as well as his roommate, he took the time to talk to me eventhough I arrived late.( Made a mistake never hosted him, he hosted me!)

Amazing organizer and never forgets a friend! He hosted me last minute in Rome, and help organize the best event i've been to all fall! I walked into his warm apartment after hectic travel to be greeted by the wonderful friends he keeps and a sunday night soccer game!

GOD...the FOOD! Call it good timing, or life with the Orseolo boys.

First night, he saved me from some overpriced dirty slum of a hotel near the Termini. I met up with friends for a drink, and was wisked off to the most amazing homemade Italian dinner by his friends. Oh..my mouth still waters to think of it....amazing fresh, local simple delicious food. What an oaf I was, without even a bottle to offer up.

The next evening, another of the Oresolo boys, made yummy pasta soup, with baked eggplant and veggies for the side dish.

They are provided me with recommendations of where to go, as it was during the week, all had to work-yet they still hung out and gave me their time, home, internet, sleeping bag, tea, smokes...the list goes on.

Hope to make y'all a margarita in Black Rock City 2010!

matteo is one of my favorite guests among the many ive hosted so far.

to me, his presence and wonderful personality is the very essence of couch surfing.

had some really good times when he was here and i hope to have some more if i come to italy, burning man or simply meet him on my travels.

Matteo saved me from spending the evening in search of appopriate accomodation that i needed just for one night or even worse -from night at the railway station , when he replied positively on my last minute (really last minute) request for hosting me in Rome when I had got some sudden force major circumstanes with my previous host. Matteo not only provided me with couch and great dinner that he cooked himself (many thanks for that) but with his pleasant company and fascinating stories along with videos about annual festivals in which he and his nice roommates participante. He and his roommates in their cozy apartment make up small friendly community and I felt really pity that I had to leave them in the morning (and not tasting food cooked by Alberto who is considered to be culinary genious in this sort of family-))). These guys are so cool and friendly! They hosted me and my friend.. I really ejoyed my time in Rome, thanks to Orseolo! Also, I should notice that Alberto is an excellent cook! thank you guys very much for everything!!! "rock house" really rocks :D

I ended up at the Orseolo's place almost by chance, recommended by a common friend :D Despite that Matteo and Carlo, and Alberto then, made my stay there great; we went to the beach, had aperitivi and dinners, went all together to a small town where their friends live, they brought me around Rome in the night with their scooters (wonderful!) and we played and talked and enjoyed, they are always up to go out or do something instead!!!

matteo is wonderful guest, an amazing person and a precious human in general. had the pleasure of hosting him, hope i will have a chance to meet him again in italy, or at the next burning man.

we went together with another CS to his friends house near Olevano (outside of Rome), and they were extremely nice and sharing , we all set down in the balcony for a long interesting talk, which i'll never forget. besides that Matteo is very caring to the people that surrounds him and always willing to help.

even though it was a quick meeting, it was really nice getting to know Matteo, and I could feel his positive approach to people and life. plus- no doubt that a CouchSurfing friend in Rome is something that good to have! :)

Orseolo is indeed a crazy place, Matteo, Carlo and Alberto are awesome hosts with a great sense of hospitality and bring a very laid back athmosphere, loved the dinners, chats, party and scooter rides :)

Matteo, Alberto and Carlo were amazing hosts. I found myself in Roma for work and wanting to see something other then the insides of hotel rooms and all the sites from the covers of the postcards I was mailing home. After posting on the SOS Roma site I was contacted by Matteo. I felt very comfortable and at home with the guys and in the apartment on via Orseolo. Over those three days I was able relax in the quiet apartment as well as see a bit of the real Roma, meet few a real Romans, and 'do as the Romans do', rather then what Lonely Planet suggest I do. As one can see by their number of references they are wonderful hosts -- hospitable, kind, down to earth, intellectually and culturally curious, unassuming, with friends who seem to me just as warm and lovely as they are. Thank you for the your time, your couch, the food, the drink, and your hospitality. You are all welcome on my couch anytime. Hoping to make it to Burning Man this year, see you there.

 

Matteo hosted me in Roma even though he was busy taking care of his mother in the hospital. We met in L’Aquila and he was so wonderful to accept me in his home and leave me in the care of his roommates Carlo and Alberto. Without Matteo I could not have had such freedom and comfort in Rome. I know when we meet again at Burning man we can share some unforgettable adventures as he is a fun loving guy and I look forward to the next time we meet!

Words cannot describe him....he's something special and I simply love him.

Carlo and Alberto (Matteo's flatmates) are two of the most lovely, helpfull, carefull, funny, crazy gentlemen I've ever met (and two amazing cooks).

 

Me and my friend Lea surfed their couch on a very short notice, since our other CS let us down. It turned out to be an amazing week... With Matteo the tutu-guy, Carlo the water-gun fighter and Alberto the beer lover. All 3 represent the perfect mix of craziness, sweetness and seriousness, and therefore, we had a lot of fun. can't wait to see them in Berlin and in Rome!

friends of mine gave me his mail-adress because i was supposed to surf the couch of a guy that never showed up in Rom. he accepted to host me and my friend and we actually spent the whole week with Matteo and his two flatmates and his friends. Matteo, Carlo and Alberto made my vacations a real Dolce Vita and i hope we will see again very soon !

I can't thank Matteo and his flat mates enough! They're really great guys and I had a wonderful time staying with them. They're very sweet and laid back and inclusive of their guests. Mio zio Matteo - that is how I will remember this great warm hearted Roman. He takes great care of his guests and you feel very home and relaxed in his company and flat. For my first day in Rome on my own he had prepared a long mail with a lot of suggestions about what I could see in Rome - he even recommanded a pizzeria for my lunch (which by the way was great!). Though he is a great guide he is even better as a host because he knows how to give you space to explore the city on your own and in the same time guide you in his city and give you different options.
Worth to mention is his great flatmates, Carlo and Alberto. The combination of these three guys gives you pure fun, party and good times!! They adopted me in their social life and brought me along to e.g. a friends B-day party.
I am looking forward to see mio zio and 'the rest of the family' again - you will always be welcome in Denmark.

it was my firs couch serfing experience ! and was definitively greate ! We went to crazy dres up party 30 km from Rome ! It was so so so funny. Matteo has open hause alvas full of frendly people. Ooooh and they coock sooo good (Lasagna and Pasta was greate ! ) :)

What can be said about Matteo that hasn't been said already. So I will tell you why I love Matteo, because he takes you to the party and then takes you home!

I enjoyed your company during my time in Rome and if you ever come to DC or any other place I am living you will most definitely have a place to sleep my friend. It was a pleasure meeting you.

 

HE'S SOOO FUNNY! He loves big sunglasses and costumes and that's how I knew him. But he's not only a great company for partying but also a very good personalty.

 

I heard about Matteo long time before actually meeting him.
Common friends like Dario or Filippo always mention some meeting he organized or famous Burning Man I must attend one day!
We both went to Galiga party but managed not to meet.
My friends Clair and Kristy brought me a bottle of tomato sauce with his face labelled on it... And finally we met in berlin winter camp.
He was up to the expectations I had... and was worth even more!

 

It is through Matteo that I came in contact with CouchSurfing and it was him that made me understand this project's true spirit

After some online mails I finally met Matteo at the BWC.
We had great party times together, a lot of fun and some crazy moments.
Matteo is a ball of energy, now wonder he was hanging around all time with ZUZZURELLONA83 - a deadly combination.

I met him first 2 years ago in Palermo for Caput Mundi then recently Matteo hosted me after a great party organized in Rome. He is a dude full of energy, great organizer, nice person always ready to rock the party! I think I’ll go to Burning Man... yeah! see you there!

 

Matteo was my very first introduction to the world of CouchSurfing, and I am so pleased that he was. I was so impressed with his generosity and loved catching up with him again in Umbria. I will always remember my final night in Italia- eating dinner with his cousin and friends at his mum's house, before settling in to watch the football. Thank you Matteo, for making Italy so welcoming!

 

Ah, the memories... ask him about our Cafè in the middle of the desert and how it died a glorious death in a massive tornado full of dirt, dust and the occasional flying package of parmigano cheese...

 

After sending 150 couch requests for staying in Roma and giving up the hope anyone will answer positively - ORSEOLO COMMUNITY SHOWED UP and SAVED MY MOTHER AND ME FROM STAYING IN THE STREET.

Matteo is a really interesting person! through him, and then Giovanni, i discovered Burning Man, so thanks for that! We had an enthusiastic week on the playa, at the hot springs and then in San Francisco. He's a really openminded person who believe in Couchsurfing project and He was very important for me to have a great experience at Burning Man.

On December we met again for the very trasgressive party into the tram in Rome and we spent some day together again!

matteo told me about burning man and even convinced me to join the madness a week before it started!! i met him and his friends on the playa and we spent some awesome days together! he's a nice carismatic and lovely person.

Mateo you can come stay here anytime! We miss you..have soo much fun at burning man...next year Im coming!

Matteo is the man to know if you want to have a good time. We first met in Spain in the desert and then in another desert in Nevada, he then hosted my friend Kristy and I and also organised the first Italian Decompression which I went to. Matteo is such a wonderful guy, he is creative and generous and loves to wear his yellow tutu in deserts around the world. I always really enjoy the time I spend with him and recommend him highly as a host or guest.

It was a short but very sweet experience, we caught Matteo just as he came back from a week of no sleep in the desert so he said he was pretty tired, but the guy has reserved energy somewhere cause he and Denis brought Natacha and I out our first night and he was still going in the morning! We saw them very little during the days because they all work soo hard but they always took us out in the evening to show us a good time wether it was drinks with friends or a scooter ride around town. I wish I got to know you guys more it felt too short! We're deffinitely hoping to catch you again if you'll have us, Loved you guys! xx

I've had a chance to meet Mattheo in three cities and two coutries over the last two weeks and hope to keep doing so! He's such a gentleman and his looks match perfectly with the wicked playa outfits! It is always a great pleasure to meet him and enjoy his shiny and warm peronality, whether it's camping in Italian countyside, picnicing in Barcelona or enjoying the freedom and madnees of the Spanish desert! He's my reason strong enough to visit Roma again soon! All the best till than, Matheo!

matteo is an entertaining gentleman in deserts. matteo matteo serves red wine in deserts. matteo lays underneath trampolines in deserts. matteo wears green skirts in deserts. matteo runs around with a box with gin and tonic in deserts. matteo greets you with a warm smile and a enchanting "ciao, come stai?!" in deserts. and the best thing about matteo is: i am sure he does all this outside of deserts as well, whick makes him so likable...!

 

Must be the best driver in Italy! I'm in awe still, having experienced the camping life with this dude, his neat little package of useful stuff for sleeping. But furthermore he is a party animal with the best rhythm the day after, and when I finally got to test his couch, we had already lived Italy together. Twice! Need to work a little on those agent skills, though. See you next year, my friend!

We're very grateful to Matteo for letting us stay when we were having trouble finding anywhere in Rome that would take us. He's a fun-loving, generous and free-spirited guy, and we really enjoyed staying with him. He took us to a couch surfing meeting where we had a really great time and met loads of other friendly people from Rome and further afield, although unfortunately we were a bit too tired from our journey to keep up with the pace of Italian night life! You know... where you live in city.. there're place you never visit 'cause you think: "Come on.. i live here.. i've all the time of the world to visit it"... so I lived 3 years in Rome and i regret so much that i didn't visit two places: Colosseum and Orseolo ;)

Matteo was kind enough to invite everyone at his place because we couldn't find a place to continue the night. I think it was more fun than we could have had in the club!! In the morning we were 6 people in his livingroom. Ok I'll join the group too, he has a nice smile and you gotta love the gap!!

Matteo is a true gentleman with a gorgeous smile. We had a lovely time on Pasqua where he was a gracious and entertaining host!

The Romans are very nice boys. I wish I had more time to spend with them while they were here!

Luckily we got to see each other again at Burning Man and spend all night riding on an art car and dancing on the playa. One of my favorite BM memories.

I saw Matteo again at BM this year, and I will be visiting him and Carlo in Rome soon! It is always so nice to see the Roman boys!

Matteo gave me a place to stay in Rome at the very last minute. He and his housemates were very generous, especially given that we were all exhausted. We didn't get to spend enough time together but I'm sure there will be a next time.

So it´s almost been a year and I still haven´t written a comment... They held a lovely barbecue on top of a roof near the beach outside Rome.. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh. Beautiful! We were two girls not afraid of meat, I still remember the lovely taste of barbecued italian saussage. And great redwine! We never ended up on a couch, we never actually slept, but enjoyed the stars after a fantastic swim in the sea. A magical evening to remember forever! Thanx!

Matteo is the life of roman CS, he's very active, he's always hosting, and is the best event planner I met here (even better then me) you'll never get bored with him ;)

Matteo gave us a first couchsurfing experience and was the perfect host. He was kind enough to invite us along to his xmas party where we met his wonderful friends. It was a great cs experience and matteo and his flatmates are wonderful people.

Matteo and his roomies are colourful, fun and very accomodating. They we're my first couchsurfing hosts and they set a high standered for the rest thats for sure! Matteo took us to a Christmas party of his friends, crazy/funky great buch of people. Even let us join his Family Christmas dinner! Thankyou! You are lucky if you get the opportunity to surf with these kids, or have them as guests!

What crazy days! Phew! These guys have loads of boogie in their feet and loads of love in their heart! To share a hot curry on Brick Lane followed by some Scotch was a super cool kick out. Thanks for killing time together! It was molto bello.

So next year came and I went to Roma to run away from everyday life. I hardly got to Orseolo's I was already on a trip to Calvi then to the sea. Things just happened one after the other and this spontaneity was beautiful. Thanks for taking good care of me Matteo and Carlo! You both rock! A presto!

 

Orseolo are my burner brothers in Rome, we are partner in crime for many things and I can't stop to go out with those guys! Much Love! :)

Matteo is a vero Italiano, full of energy. We had a nice walk to Sunio with Sasha also.He choise nice Italian music and he is very friendly.

 

Me missed each other when he passed thorugh my town, but he knew I was heading to buring man as well. His friend left his Shoe in San Luis Obispo and asked me if I could pick them up and bring to Buring Man to be delievered. Amongest 45,000 strangers I found them and returned the shoes!

Matteo y Carlo were beautiful people, both inside & out. They were such a pleasure to host and I hope to see them again one day in Rome.

We had a wonderful time spent with the Orseolo team. Matteo took really good care of us, Carlo cooked pasta like a chief and drove into rome like a real italian (this is quite an experience), and we enjoyed meet all their guests of the week (from Viena, Crete, Belgium...). I cant say enough about Matteo! He was WONDERFUL. He not only took us a day before we arrived, but eh had a big paerty waiting for us with YUMMY italian food and great company. His friends were so nice and welcoming (about 15 of them!) He hade sure we had food, maps, showers, fun....and even had his friends come over to drive us all around roma on their motorcycles. that was the perfect way to end my stay in rome. Ahhh! La dolce vita as offered by Matteo is a fantastic thing to experience. Beyond offering a couch, he was totally open to running off to experience two weekend retreats with me and my friends from overseas all last minute, while managing to impress them with his charm, generous heart and abilty to just make things happen. I feel very lucky to have met my Roman mirror!

If you stay wtih Matteo you also stay with his wonderful roomates Carlos and Francesco and you'll most likely find yourself out to dinner or out dancing with his friends who are also really fun.

We've now survived 2 Burning Mans together and my love for this man keeps growing, especially since he keeps bringing more cute ragazzi to camp with us :)

I had a blast w/ Kelly hosting Matteo and Carlo in HB for the night. Playing dress up was fun and so was watching them on the dance floor!

Matteo and Carlo were game to go and witness the legendary Patti Smith in concert at the Santa Monica Pier (Los Angeles County), and even if conversation was short attitude was all that was needed! "POWER TO THE PEOPLE" we all chanted and danced to her grooves and a few covers and tributes she is sooooo entitled to make.....

Matteo and Carlo are such good sports. Had fun shopping, dancing and generally being silly with them on Main Street. Wish I could follow them to Burning Man.

I met Matteo at a CS meeting in Palermo and when he knew that I was coming back to Rome before heading to Greece, he immediately offered me a place to stay. He has a constant smile on his face, and is great fun to be around, always laughing and having fun. He's also really smart, and gave me a lot of great tips about Greece, and he has great taste in music, turning me onto some great Italian Alternative Rock. I just wish that I would have had more time to spend with Matteo and his friends because they were all so nice and fun! PEGASUS!!! Ha ha! :) Have fun at burning man and keep in touch!!

 

Matteo was there when I needed him...and for at least 3 other couch surfers the night I stayed with him in Rome. He's a can-do guy. He helped us out and showed us a great time. I can't imagine a better last night in Rome, and I'm sure all his surfers agree.

These two guys stayed over in my house in Amsterdam for Qday. Carlo is a great cook and Matteo is very funny. They both are very friendly and nice to hang out with. I had a fantastic time hosting them and they can come back anytime they want. And i will definately come over to see their house in ROMA!!!

These guys are amazing! I felt like home in their house. They were extremely friendly, communicative, helpful, interesting and many of other qualities that makes someone an italian! They took me to parties, gave perfect italian food, helped me with everything I needed, included finding hosts in other places. Their apartment is also one of the places that everyone should visit in Rome: I really loved it and would like to live there if I studied in Rome! The only way I can thank them is inviting them to come to Brazil and making them enjoy it as I did in Italy!

 

Matteo gave me a place to stay when I needed it urgently. When I first showed up, I met a number of his friends at a barbecue. The next night he took me on his scooter to a ska/reggae concert in a park and for a late night ride around Rome. Honestly, I don't think I stopped smiling the entire evening. I even smiled in my sleep. I completely forgot about all the drama of my stolen bag, and I had a lovely time with this generous, animated group of people. :)

 

Un vero Italiano!!! Before even arriving to Athens, Matteo actually started organising a CS meeting in a bar :) He is a very sociable, smiley and charming guy! Be aware, he can really sleep LONG hours!!! Ci vediamo a Roma, don't forget I have to brush up my Italian!!! A presto!!!

I know this is really late, haha, but my sister and I stayed with Matteo, Carlos and Francesco for a few nights right before Christmas and had an amzing time! They are all super sweet and took great care of us. We went to the big tram party that Matteo organized, and it was so much fun!! THANKS MATTEO!! (and sorry we didn't get to say goodbye)

These guys are great! they cooked for me and introduced me to their friends. they and their friends are so open-hearted and friendly, not to mention considerate (they ate the food i made, even though it tasted horrible). I definately recommend meeting them even if you don't stay with them. Thanks so much guys, you're the best!

Matteo was wondering about the Paris CS group and he just came in a perfect moment (Steeve's birthday). We welcomed him warmly and finally we met! He is an easy going guy, ready for partying and talking *a lot* =)

A soon as we met Matteo we new that we had no reason to hesitate jumping in his car and heading up to party at a Villa in the middle of no where. What an amazing experience. 380 acres of wine vineyards, an amazing old house, wonderful people and food and wine, and dancing! I can't thank you enough for inviting us.

A mutul cs friend introduced us and after that we become friend. He's really amazing and a trused person. he became famous among my friends for his shot drinks! They want to copy his secrets but he is the best!

Lots of love to the crazy boys in Orseolo! Our emergency request to crash on Matteo+Carlo's couches on New Years Eve ended with a blast, 3 very hungover girls and with such good vibes I think we could have stayed the whole year till the next New Year celebration! We will see you again soon!

Matteo totally came to my rescue at the last minute when I was stuck in Rome with no place to stay after my couch bailed at the last minute. Absolutely great guy with great roommates.

Matteo, Francesco and Carlo are great guys! Their appartement is very good and they make you feel like being home. The nightlife was also very nice, in particular singing karaoke with their friends!!!

These guys were so great, we felt very welcome. They picked us up at the station, we sang together, they cooked great italian food and we had a lot of fun! Thank you guys so much for everything!! I hope to see you again soon!!

Matteo is a great great host. Him and his friends took me and my friends all over Rome on their scooters and he made the best breakfast ever at 5 pm!!! His roomate Carlo is also a wonderful guy and their apartment is always full of great people for you to meet.

After navigating the city with a few of his friends from Rome, Matteo and his entourage finally arrived on our doorstep. Drinks were had, weed was smoked, and lovely conversation was exchanged. They arrived on Queen's Day weekend, aka: biggest party in Amsterdam, so I'm sure they had a blast. we definitely enjoyed the company and will look him up when we visit Rome.

Matteo was a guest like everyone wishes: He is nice, cummicative and adapted very well with my friends. The only thing I cannot excuse.......is that Italy won the worldcup, hahaha. But wait for 2010. ;)
In August me and Sophie83 visited him and his nice flatmates in Rome. It was a wonderful experience. We literatly felt "like at home", cooking with them, drinking Spritz and going out together. Very layed back and fun guys!!! Thanx again 4 everything.

Matteo&Co. My first couchsurfing experience, and is probably gonna be the best one. From the first day until the last day they treated us like their own family. They gave us the best service ever! from cooking dinner, going to a concert, show us the beach, introduce us to their very lovely friends. They are the greatest! Great family in Rome. Matteo, Carlo and Francesco were so nice to us. They saved us too many times, because we got lost all the time and we never made it to the right place on a right time.
