Couch Information
Couch Available: Yes Preferred Gender: Any No smoking allowed Has children: No Can host children: No Has pets: No Can host pets: No Max Surfers Per Night: 8
Shared Sleeping Surface: No Shared Room: DependsGuests will be supplied pillows and linens. There is a sofa plus lots of floor space so you guys can decide who gets what. The space is in the living room though I also have a bumk bed in my room and dont mind sharing so long as you can handle falling asleep to Brian Eno ambient sounds. My we got a big ole phat couch right next to the stripper pole in the living room, and some of the rooms come equipped with a bunk bed, so you may be eligible for an upgrade and be able to bed-surf. Back to the stripper pole, all walks of life are welcome, at all states of drunkenness or sobriety, however, the less sober you are the more likely you are to end up on the pole yourself. The apartment is a large 4 bedroom/2 bathroom.. the inside is an oasis, a lounge of subtle Brazilian jazz beats, blue grass, photos and art from around the world, and gently lit geometries. A swell place for reading a book, dropping a tab, or spinning some vinyl. The apartment can quickly be morphed into a rave, strip club, or an upbeat arabesque sheesha lounge! The couch has caused many a surfer to over sleep their alarm, so beware of the extreme comfort.
The apartment complex has an outdoor community area for social gatherings which has a great view of the city. There's a pool and BBQ pit for sometime fun, the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine.
Public transport, commuter rail, SOCO, Eastside, Downtown, campus, all walking distance. I can maybe show you around, depends on the plans for the day.
I love this place, you will too!

Personal DescriptionI'm pretty much a human chameleon, for the most part a vegetarian ham, though, I often feel like tight leather leggings lost in a Bourbon Street strip club. Some would say I'm the personification of a bitch slap/back massage combo at a 50% discount with exorbitantly high sales tax. I know Im slightly sentimental, more than slightly mental... and most definitely a sonofabeach but also a fire breathing, storm chasing, living.being.loving, titty twisting tweaker of a twat. If you take anything away from my profile please take away the alliteration: titty twisting tweaker of a twat. It is my gift to you. Moving onward... I really don't prefer to have any set way I see the world as my experience is constantly unfolding into the inevitability of bodily rigamortis and 4th dimensional post-life fire dancing with divinely illuminated fairies and leprechauns. Now as I depart to eat a lightly frosted cupcake and perform psychic surgery on my unremembered self, I leave you with these sentiments:
I am composed of the vernacular known as god, limitless with potential and limitlessly flawed. I walk myself up hills, slip on banana peels, return to my feet with a flute in E, make myself home in a kingdom of self constraints, then rebel. A famous author I know calls it, "living in hell". I smile for no reason, laugh underneath my breath, a deceiving site, for I cry behind the curtain from my heart being torn. Violet rays of light illuminate inner silence as I surf purple gong waves to heal from the violence. I wear a special shirt when I misbehave. Underneath my lies I'm naked and unafraid. I play myself like a game, and until the wisdom catches, I'll settle for being sane. I'm honest when its safe and passionate with my lies, self preservation comes at a price. The mask is my game. The past is my vice. Setting fire to the rules is my self abuse. Silence is my remedy. Addiction is my noose. Poetry is my charm. I am (followed by (any word here)) is my indulgence, the absorption of which has paid for not having the courage to walk my path. Though, looking back now, every moment just makes me laugh. I've grown to see the light and to sit in my own skin, opening up every moment excited for my life to newly begin. My word is a pen and the pages are everyone's hearts. From mine to theirs, the circle is complete with language in between, my mission... to read the sacred geometry, the vernacular known as god, but until then, laugh... for being so flawed. How I Participate in CSI don't participate often, in fact, some would agree I am the least active couchsurfing ambassador on planet Earth. But, when I do participate, I do so on a large scale wearing elephant thongs and body paint. I enjoy bringing city groups together and then passing out on the floor of a subway station.CouchSurfing ExperienceMontreal Gatherings, New Zealand collective, Rach, Rach, Rach! Kay in Hong Kong, Dave and Pearl, Diane showing up on my doorstep, the list is too long and my attention span is hungry for pharmaceutical treats.InterestsI'm into poetry, the smell of cedar, hallucinogenic experiences, underwater photography, almost anything obscene, intoxicated people of Russian nationality, mountain hiking, shamanic journeys, yoga, spontaneous acts of leaving the country, spontaneous acts of leaving my body, spanky knick knacks and skanky paddy whacks, not so much paddy wagons, buddhism, titan triggerfish, midnight walks through rainforests, wild animals, near death experiences, homelessness, storytellers, old souls, beach parties, tree climbing, post modern philosophy chats with homosexual M.I.T graduates, southern baptist church services, nudity, conspiracy theories, realities coined as conspiracy theories, energy healing, sacred geometry, maps, Montreal, the everglades, the sonoran desert, the amazon basin, cliff jumping, volcanoes of any kind (preferably erupting), pornography, photography, insects, golden thoughts, germs, golden ratios, Kilauea, triathlons, robin hood like acts, Tungurahua, silence, poop chats, Tequila, Hitchiking, Cheap Diners, Poety on bathroom stalls, Getting high and reading road signs backwards, Thunderstorms/hurricanes/tornadoes, Slam Poetry floetry grow a tree, Fearlessness. PhilosophyAnd I belong to the offspring of stars, celestial movements producing gravity attaches me to the Earth in physicality through birth, like a priest sworn to church or a storm incarcerated to the troposphere. Reality is neither here nor there but only what you choose to declare as the who why what when and where that bears benefit more then consequence, there is no difference between defile or cleanse when determined by man made mandates manufactured to manage the minds of men, there is no difference between an inch and a mile or any given distance granted the offspring of stars is connected. Determining fact is precisely how reality is disrespected. There is no sure fact. Let choice be respected, conclusions be rejected, when voice is a young belly dancer amid a timid suburbanite crowd, it doesn’t need treatment like cancer, it needs to be spoken loud and proud and open, there is no such thing as outspoken or devotion to the wrong cause, when justifying cause is an effect of cause which effectively causes progress to be lost in right or wrong. That shit is the same old song that’s been playing too long. Nature determines the life span of Earth, what are we trying to save Earth from? Death befalls regardless. I believe it to be a moment of light, not darkness. This is not an end, merely the means to how I start this argument against arguing to convince those who contend that opinions are decisions based on facts that can not bend, underneath the absolute truth of god, how does a human being dictate which reality is flawed? When in fact the fact less matter of fact is a decision based on the minds of men, scripture is written in ink from pen, and then abbreviated translated and mandated to contaminate faith with an onslaught of sexism, bigotry, and hate, accounting for absence of our nature, where in this day is our intuitive state, accountability for absence of awareness, ascertaining axioms, authenticity, accuracy, asserting analysis against action, adaptability and answering aboriginal amenability as if this land was our fucking own, do you need it to come to a no fly zone, before you see your home transformed into a prison without trees that breathes smoke out from towers when it exhales will you cower underneath unlimited power that is showered down from a president who wears a crown and claims there are environmental benefits from acid rain. Will you react when the FACT is that nature has been slain? Will you disregard your pain for the sake of freedom?
.......and I belong to the offspring of stars, where particles bombard the Earth's face and scar in a place where freedom waits behind jail bars.
The keys' within our reach, within our hearts.
Believe in who we are meant to be.
peace Music, Movies, BooksThe Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life and thievery Corporation, lately.Types of People I enjoyOverall, I enjoy most living beings made of vibrating particles, whether they be human, insect, amphibian, mammalian, extra terrestrial, divine beings, etc.. If I could have an innocuous relationship with viruses, I would enjoy viruses too. Sometimes people have even experienced me having in depth conversations with inanimate objects, and to be honest, I enjoy objects. For instance, if a toy bear in a store gets separated from the other toy bears and I can't find the bin it belongs to, I will have to buy that toy bear so that it isn't alone and isolated from its toy bear friends and family. Only if I find a group of three or four other toy bears will I leave them all on a box together somewhere in the store for the staff to find and relocate back to their family and friends living in the bin they were separated from. Not too long ago I was conversing with Granny Smith, Red Delicious, and Nashi apples in order to forge the gap between different breeds and create a diverse group of friends. So, I enjoy objects, living beings, and even space, especially when its full of big fat rain drops, confetti falling from ceilings, and orange reddish sunlight falling from the sky... Teach, Learn, ShareI can show you how to breathe, well... the way a Buddhist monk may teach you, Anapanasati (mindfulness in breath), I can teach you how to Scuba Dive and how to wrestle certain aquatic life forms, how to cultivate power plants, play the native flute, have an acoustic bath, and win every time in a drinking contest. Would love to learn more about yoga, alchemy, myth, and anything obscure. One Amazing Thing I've Seen or DoneI have lived in one place for more than 6 consecutive months without leaving, amazing! This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you. References (45)37Positive 8Neutral 0Negative

From Matt Kane Salem, United States May 1 Positive Phil changed my life and I hope I can find a way to repay him for it. He is a fantastic guy and knowledgeable in so many areas. He has such an amazing outlook on life and has a great wisdom about him. I hope to meet up with him again in the future!
From Kasey Herber Austin, United States Mar 30, 2011 Positive I like your profile!!!! Thankx;-)
From Nick Galusha Austin, United States May 9, 2009 Positive Phil was kind enough to welcome me into his home while I was apartment hunting in Austin. We had some amazing home-cooked food, shared stories, I learned what Kombucha was and he introduced me to body choir. Phil is an wonderful person with a heart of gold infused with liquid spirituality. Ask him about the wonders of the universe and his answers will never disappoint. I highly recommend surfing with (or hosting) Phil and look forward to seeing him around in my new home town Austin.
From Patrick Kronfli Austin, United States May 5, 2009 Positive Phil is the man. Really good guy with a positive vibe. Awesome real estate agent too.
From Bessy Stuart Fremantle, Australia May 4, 2009 Positive Philip is one of those charismatic, energetic and delightfully fun and hilarious guys you just love to be around. He hosted me in Austin and i had a ball thrift shopping and bubble gum poppin with him! hope to see him on the west side of aus in the not too distant future!
From Jessie Witte Austin, United States Apr 28, 2009 Positive Phil has been nothing but welcoming and funny since I've met him. From helping me and my boyfriend find a place to live, to wandering around neighborhoods finding a party and ending up at a scoot bar, to letting us sleep in his own bed, he has made me feel at home in austin. it's been a great mix of chillin at his place in silence with good music or having a deep conversation about the power of the pyramids. besides all that, you can learn a lot from phil or just start talking in different voices and let the fun begin.
From John Gutierrez Pharr, United States Apr 8, 2009 Positive this guy is awesome
From Joshua Adair Austin, United States Aug 6, 2008 Positive Everytime Philla and I meet it seems we're on the same destiny track and are going to get some huge shit accomplished. Then we dont see eachother for a couple months. But the frequency is increasing, and I think our gift to the world is soon to be manifested in 3d, starting in Austin and spreading like the measles all over the world. Hes a powerful creative original spontaneous deep reflective joyous slightly crazed being that I always enjoy and learn from
From David Jenkins Caledon, Canada Apr 21, 2008 Positive Phila Manila is like a smile of conviction, determination, and pure will, dancing inside one of those bottles with a neck so small, you wonder how the heck all that jazz snook inside. He's like a wild ride on a moonlit evening, smoothing out wrinkles in time, leaping thoughtless on clouds that engulf watercress and peppermint. He makes fire from sparks of flint, and flickers like a firefly. And when he freestyles, he does so with the guile of an old sage, playing gently with words and wonder like a small child, meanwhile his style breaks it down like bile, and creates lyrical mosaics out of phosphorescent tile. Keep on dancing the chimichanga you rambling wrangler, we'll catch each other on the flip flop.
