In her travels Lisa has worked as a community animator, conducting popular education workshops, doing cultural work in schools, and participating in media solidarity campaigns. CouchSurfing Experiencemy last couch surfing experience was coming back from tennessee. i emailed a whole bunch of community living / eco-village peeps asking if they had anywhere where my friends and i could sleep on the way back and we ended up hooking up with the most amazing womyn in cincinatti. her kids had just left for university so we slept in their rooms and she treated us just like her own. she made us breakfast in the morning and we stayed up all night talking to her about all the different projects she was involved in and learning a little bit about what activism was like where she lived. what a wonderful experience!Interestsholistic lifestyles, traveling, living with nature, vegan cooking, making movies, popular education, and working for a better world!Philosophylive the change i want to see in the world!Music, Movies, Booksbread and roses, dj spooky, anthony b, living legends, afuken, sublime, asian dub foundation, sweet honey in the rock, deltron 330, mos def, bahamadia, spearhead, be good tanyas slum village, the gossip, bill laswell, crass, etc. Types of People I enjoyi enjoy activists, anarchists, anti-racists, ecologists, community, gangsters, trannies, potheads, and back-to-the-landers.Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org Projecti think the couchsurfing site needs better design, and more radicals!

From GRINGUITICA Santa Barbara, Costa Rica Jun 2, 2008 Positive Lisa's one of my best friends in the world, and she is a very sweet and hospitable host. Surf her couch, and she and Josue will show you the local area, tell you the best places to eat, and really invite you into their lives... simply the best!
From Meg Villanueva Barcelona, Spain May 23, 2008 Positive Oh my! This is sooooo long overdue!haha. But better late than never.
I stayed with Lisa and Josue for a couple of nights.Actually felt bad I had to go home very late at night because I was at the same time on a conference..but they were so cool and easy-going. Ask them about Central America and they'd be able to tell you something -big or small. Plus, they're probably the most in-demand in Panama. I remember leaving the city for 2 nights to surf Santa Catalina.. and when I got back they were like "oh, someone stayed here while you were gone!"haha! They love traveling and we share so many things in common-advocacies and our jobs to boot!haha. Miss you both! Let me know when you come to the Philippines! Or Spain for that matter!
From Shira Gellman Vancouver, Canada Apr 10, 2008 Positive It is funny to meet a local from your hometown halfway across the continent and then share some memories and tradition from home in this new place. Lisa and Josue were very accomodating and shared a lot of interests and activities. It was fun!
From Fabian Cordero Gonzalez Santa Barbara, Costa Rica Mar 28, 2008 Positive Lisa is awesome

From Christina Harview Somerville, United States Mar 17, 2008 Positive My friend Nicki and I stayed with Lisa in Panama city for one night upon first arrival and had such a good time that we came a second day before our departure. Lisa and Josue were so great- very laid back and chill and great to talk to. They have some really decent couches--I got a good nights sleep! Highly recommended!
Lisa and Josue--thanks guys!! you are both so awesome! Hopefully our paths will cross again some day. Let me know if you ever fall into the arms of Pennsylvania!
