Personal DescriptionI'm Justin. I like to have fun, meet new people, learn new things, and just generally explore. I read a ton of books, do a little bit of gaming, and enjoy pretty much any and all outdoor activities (hiking, climbing, backpacking, kayaking, etc... I'm a fan of good dark beers, especially porters. I play with fire, work for music venues, tv & radio stations and shows, fire and ambulance departments, and dance like a tall skinny white boy (ie not at all). I'm addicted to tattoos, but like most people with an addiction, can't really afford the habit. I have a guitar, but have no idea how to play it. I make beer and mead. To me, PETA stands for People Eating Tasty Animals. Someday, I will live in that Ewok village they have down in Costa Rica. How I Participate in CSI provide a couch :p Hoping to instruct Couchsurfing volunteers as EMTs at one of the CS Collectives eventually.CouchSurfing ExperienceMost of my CS experiences are as a host, but I've surfed a few couches myself, and I love it! Made all kinds of good friends and contacts. Favorite CS pastimes include creating gourmet Ramen meals for guests, drunken midnight frisbee matches, and starting flame wars on the forums. InterestsOh so many. Ummm... fire spinning and breathing, reading, emergency medicine, paintball, urban and wilderness exploration, ancient civilizations, food, backpacking, climbing, kayaking, hiking, music, etc...PhilosophyI myself am made entirely of flaws stitched together with good intentions.Music, Movies, BooksMovies: Snatch, Iron Man, Tank Girl, the Departed, Star Wars, District B13, Wristcutters...
Music: Punk, Classic Rock, and the Blues; The Black Keys!!! Flogging Molly, Gogol Bordello, ACDC, Tenacious D, Kenney Wayne Shepherd, etc...
Books: A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin, Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, Dharma Punx by Noah Levine, Hardcore Zen and Sit Down & Shut Up by Brad Warner, World of Darkness 1.0 werewolf sourcebooks (yeah, shameless geek)...Types of People I enjoyAll of 'em. Even scientologists have an interesting story or two to share...Teach, Learn, Sharelighting design, career success, empathy, ems, fire spinning and breathingOne Amazing Thing I've Seen or DoneWhile hiking from the North Rim to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, I was mugged by a ring tailed fox. This isn't the first time I've been attacked by a small woodland creature however. I've also been assaulted by a squirrel, chased by a raccoon, and pooped on by numerous birds. Why god, why?Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org ProjectI think this website is awesome.Locations TraveledTRAVELED: Russia LIVED: United States
What do these numbers mean?
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you. References (26)26Positive 0Neutral 0Negative

From Christina Simms Buffalo, United States Sep 22, 2011 Positive I've known Justin for many many years. He is always up for a good hike or conversation. I would trust him with anything...most of the time ;).
From ANI BANANI Twin Falls, United States Apr 8, 2011 Positive Justin was a great host. He opened his very cool apartment up to my friend, Tyler, and me, and offered us food galore. He cracked us each a cold beer and then told us we were staying in the hammer death capitol of America. That's right: hammer death. I think he was a little relieved when we reassured him that we can't break his femur. Especially not with our bare hands. Pretty bad ass for a guy who breathes fire. ;)
From Jade Wright Liverpool, England Jul 4, 2010 Positive Justin and his firends wre so welcoming, highly amusing, hysterical and so much fun to spend time with! They took me out, fed me, introduced me to stoner sausages, new Colorado beers and some great places!
Had such a great time with them we're going to hook up again for some more adventures!
From Holli Barker Atlanta, United States Apr 26, 2010 Positive YO! i havn't logged in since i stayed with justin a while back, but he is really nice and a very generous person. great host!
From Brian and Jen Ingellis-Dupre Denver, United States Apr 26, 2010 Positive We found Justin crying under a bridge; wet, cold, naked. He was speaking in an incomprehendible gypsy-gibrish mumble with a lisp. We took him in, fed him, bathed him, loved him... Now we are proud to see Justin acclimating back into society so well. Keep up the progress Justin, and God-willing you will live to fight another day!
From Aly Tadros Austin, United States Feb 15, 2010 Positive Justin was a great host - really laid back and helpful. Let Douglas and I take over his room and rehearse half the night, and have some much needed rest time. I'd host him anytime!
From Matt Bryant Fayetteville, United States Feb 2, 2010 Positive Stayed on Justin and Barbara's couch during a trip to Texas. They are cool, fun people and very hospitable. I would definitely recommend them to others.
From Barbara Blackwell Colorado Springs, United States Jan 22, 2010 Positive Justin is my awesome, amazing, wonderful friend...and my new roomate!! I so totally win!!!! He's the best roomate ever!!!!
From Rose Marie Norman Wichita, United States Jan 13, 2010 Positive Justin is a really cool guy with great conversation. We met at a local CS dinner and he was a great addition to the group! I'm sure we'll meet again sometime soon and I'll be able to add more about how great he is!
