Renaud d Avout d Auerstaedt

Renaud is a very interesting person, full of energy and very independant. He's easy-going, flexible and very open minded.
His international background makes him passionate to anything new, he's always smiley, open to do anything, and the most important: he's never complaining!!! Since we met in Vietnam, a nice friendship has started! Hope to see you again in Asia!

Renaud and Helene were so kind with me when I was in HCMC. We had a very good time and delicious fruitshakes!!! They are curious and open-minded and enjoy speaking about traveling. They has been one of my best human experiences during my trip.

Renaud and his gf, Helene, are very nice people (and beautiful couple ^^). He has had some really interesting stories and experience of traveling. We have met for a few times and definitely will meet for many times in the future as long as they are still in Vietnam ^^

I couched at Renaud's and Helen's place when I was in Saigon. And that was probably one of the best experience in my entire stay in Saigon. Renaud is always funny and witty, and we had such a good time sharing our travel experiences. He also provided me with a very different insight to Vietnam, one that i would not have seen if I went on a package tour!

 

Thank you Renaud for being such a great host for Carolyn and I! It was a quick trip (especially for her with just one night), but you guys were great hosts for her first CS experience. Let me know when you decide to drive one of those motorbikes :)

 

One of the most traveled young men I've ever met, Renaud is a pleasure to talk to. He is very engaging and knowledgeable about so many regions of the world that I took advantage and picked his brain about West Africa, Asian languages and Vietnam. Another dinner meeting never worked out but I hope to meet up with him again, hopefully on another continent!

 

Met Renaud through Natasha and talked briefly over some drinks. Then caught up with him on my last night in HCMC for dinner and a few more drinks with some other surfers. When you talk to this guy you can tell he is really listening. Good guy, enjoyed his company.

 

Having lived in every corner of the world, having done so many amazing things, and working in a very challenging area, it's impossible for Renaud not to impress you (I definitely was!). I'm looking forward for the next meetup :)

It was a pleasure to meet with Renaud. His perspective and tales are an inspiration -- both in terms of 'definite visit' places and those categorized 'enter at your own risk'

Renaud is an interesting person!He told me his experience when he travelled:-) I still have 6 month to know more about him and his girlfriend when they're working here:)

Renaud is an easy going guy,i`m really enjoy talking to him.may be because we got common topic,since both of us living in Singapore.Just realised he is avegetarian,really admire vegetarian as they can resist the temptation of meat!haha...yea, he is my online french teacher too.really hope to learn some french from u.LOL! cya back in Singapore, if u do come back =P

 

Renaud is one of the sincerest and well travelled people I have ever met! He has endless stories to tell about his life abroad, and after discussing the first few countries he's lived in, I literally lost track due to the sheer number of places! I'm looking forward to catching up with him and his girlfriend over the next few months during their internships here in Saigon.

Renaud is a very interesting guy. He spoke to me in French and Spanish, but again, I was at a loss for words due to lack of practice. Hope to chat with you again soon (in French and Spanish, haha)!

Renaud is an intelligent and well-informed citizen of the world, and I enjoyed whiling away the hours discussing diverse topics with him. He's a true gentleman, of true French aristocratic stock (but very modest with it!) and a charming companion. I hope to see you again somewhere sometime soon in this small world.

 

Met him over lunch. Althou it was a short meet up but we'd great conversation. He's the kind of person that you would like to talked to and listened to. Wish we'd spent more time.

Renaud is a very interesting guy, and I have a great time every time he is around. He is easy to talk to, laid back and he makes you feel comfortable. He knows a lot of good stories, my favorite is the Escobar one :-) Take care, and hope to see you again soon...

 

When I read his profile, I was "wow, this guy seems to rock..." But I didn't want to go to SG to meet French so I forgot about it. Until we met... And he rocks :) You can talk about anything with him, he's really interesting both about SG politics and the fancies of his weird dreams ^^ Open-minded and easy-going, got to know him better.

Renaud has super fast reflexes!!! Or maybe I am just slow, lol. Which is why he won me at my stupid game :( I give up on playing it with him anymore hahahaha. We'd playing the drinking game next time!!! Let me win pleassssssssse!! hahahaha

Renaud is a pleasure to be with! Very mature and knowledgeable for a guy his age.

Travelled with him to Melaka for 2 days on extremely short notice. He is a great travel partner and full of wonderful and interesting experiences to share. We should do this again!

A really cool guy! how many people have sailed 2 months from france to singapore?! well its really easy talking to Renaud because he is so knowledgeable and he gives you a feeling that you can chat for a long time with him.but dont try magic tricks on him,he will prove you that its no magic. =)

You are an old soul in a young man's body... that is a fact. You guys are SO coming and staying with me when I'm an old crone!!:) So sorry that I cannot host you and Maryanne properly. This man is knowledgeable without being a know-it-all and makes you want to listen to his stories for hours and hours... He manhandled me- conspiring with the Little Maid Maryanne to rob me out of paying for our dinner.

The sweetest guy you can ever find... just ask the ants crowding him at the bar!

ah my favourite frenchboy. just realised i havent left you any comments either(!) I've totally enjoyed hanging out with Renaud, I don't even have to mention how cool/well-traveled/knowledgeable he is from all the other refs here. I appreciate him most for the deeper than small-talk chats, sharing our insights on anything and everything from nuns and prostitutes to kant and universal maxims. Having him around has definitely enriched my life and he's one fellow whom i can talk to for hours without realising how late it is - the missing trains part is funny! a very rare friend to come by indeed, certainly one i'd love to keep close contact with. enjoy southeast asia =)

Renaud is probably the walking history book. He knows so much of history and I am impressed! Talk about adventure, sailing from France to Singapore- that is total madness but inspiring.

Renaud is a cool guy. And he knows I'm a nice kid, no? ;p Was really awesome talking to him, I mean, how often do you get to meet a guy who sailed the seven seas to sunny Singapore and with so many life-threatening experiences? This guy is Soo freaking cool...I have never met someone in my lifetime with such weird genetic abilities. Hahahaha..You should see him do all the weird stuff with his body. He can really cut out for a good mate playing along with all the jokes and nonsense. You can't get bored with him around. Wickly AWESOME!!

Singlish Teacher?! In actual fact, we're teaching him key (swear) phrases in the various languages and dialects spoken in Singapore. Renaud is a talented multi-linguist so this is easy for him ;) I'm already awed by the heaps of experiences, anecdotes and cultural interactions he accumulated while growing up. Tell me more!

Renaud - the guy who got to SG travelling the 7 sea?? Hmmm =) Smart, interesting, thoughtful and charming, what better package can one be =) A few more weeks of hanging with us, he'll probably fluently knows how to "curse and bitch" in Malay.. A great person to be around and a pleasure to meet =)

We met last year and spend an academic year living in the same apartment. I can tell that Renaud is really a very good friend, extremly clever and nice to people. He's also very open minded

We met when I spent one night in the flat in Paris, a guest of his flatmate Karim. Nice guy, worldly-wise..we had some good chats about tropical diseases and vegetarianism while smoking shisha!

i met him when i was in Paris... he is really cool and we shared a lot of things about Chi or Spanish ;)
i can say that meeting Renaud and his brother Jeff made my Paris visit extremely well. I was so lucky to meet them because they shared everything with me and they were extremely positive. if i have the chance to see them again, i would be so happy. he said to me that he can go to China again, maybe we meet there... by the way thanks for Chinese documents...

 

Renaud is a wonderful guy you have to meet ! i met him a few times in the past when he was visiting his brother geff in our student hostel, and i was gladly surprised to find him also extremly easy going, smiling, generous, as the whole family in fact, but the thing that surprised me the most was his knowledge i mean he's one of the most interesting person i know, the conversations are like travels, i've learned a lot from him.
now we are flatmates and with such a crazy guys it makes such a really place to live

 

For now, I'll just say this: he's my brother, and he's a great dude.
