We hung out at a CS gathering in LA, it was surprisingly small, but it made for more intimate connections. It was great to meet others of like mind. Hungry to live, explore, and share. We likewise look forward to paths crossing.

Looks like we will miss each other Christine and I will be in Asia the Fall.

Kat is such awesome person, always smiling, in good mood, she is such simple,warm personality,it was nice & easy to host her few days at my place ,showed her chinese new year celebration (local open house invitation ),we have great conversation about culture, CS issue etc...she is a great contribution to the CS community , you should definitely take opportunity to get know her,wish her have a good time in India and would like to meet up with her for sure any where, even will definitely host you again.

katherine knows a lot about couchsurfing and was a very pleasant companion for a day in Bangkok! She likes to walk too which is really good as I am always up for a walk!!!

You will never get bored with Kat. There's always something to talk about with her. During one of many chats we had, she gave me the idea to start my own religion: Booze-ism!

Kat. the fellow Angeleno, is a sweetheart with tons of travel stories and a strong advocate of the couchsurfing community. We definitely shared some crazy times in Honduras and Guate..never a dull moment...I hope to see her on a cruise ship in Alaska soon!

I think we may have met at Carmen's b-day party but didn't get to chat. We got to really meet at the Hollywood bowl and she's just a cool CAT!!

 

We met at Korean BBQ and while I was cooking, we discussed Henry Rollins, Enya, and a weebit of the LA clubbing scenes. I await my introduction to Vietnamese food and will hopefully convince her to trek down to Little Saigon and show me what's what.

Kat was very fun to talk to and added a lot to the evening. She is well-traveled, with lots of great advice on places.

 

Kat -- she's got a lot to say and a wealth of travel and CS experience she's so open to sharing. She's convinced me not to ever go to San Francisco...just kidding! Looking forward to learning more from this girl at other CS gatherings...

Kat is a great person that is also getting mor heavily involved with the Los Angeles CS scene and I have come across her at bonfires and Drag Queen Bingo.... Yippy. lol... We first crossed paths when Kat had my back over a situation involving a foul potential surfer. Even though I had never met her at the time, she took the initiative to highlight and help eliminate a CS parasite. A few weeks later, she sent me a request and I was more than happy to accomodate her! Even though we did not get a whole lot of time together, what we had was full of great conversation, laughs, and good food! I know we will hang again as we are CS city neighbors.

 

I met Kat at a CS gathering/bonfire she helped organize in LA. (My first real CS connection!) Kat was awesome. She answered my CS newbie questions and shared her experience with the website. All around great conversation and positive energy. Wish I could have stuck around longer to get to know her, and others, a little better. :*(

 

Finally got to meet the infamous Kat at. a Madonna erotic art openi..ng fun times.. talking trash about celebrities knocking back drinks and learning the plethora of knowledge Kat has on the club scene of the 90's. A cool Kat indeed.

May:Kat came down to Hollywood to meet me at an art gallery opening, and we hung out with D-list celebritys together. Fun times, glad to converse with someone interested in subcultural evolution and pop deconstructionism... or whatever you wanna call it but it was fun.
April:"Rebelbettie"/Kat, has a lot of energy and fun stories to tell. We met at the LA Times Book Festival and we went to a political panel, and then drove to Redondo with some others. She's cool. Glad I could meet some CSers at the event.

 

Oh Kat, what can I say about my favourite gal? We first bonded over Ethiopian food, and subsequently became great friends over the months I spent in L.A. Kat and I even went on a road trip to Vegas and we had a yakfest all weekend. Brainy, sharp and not at all snobby (well, maybe music snobby).

I feel as I'll never find the right words to say just how awesome a person she is. I will miss her sooooooooo much when I go home :'(

 

First met Kat in Santa Monica as part of an improvised CS dinner and then we hung out at Brian's place chatting and having a few cold ones. We met up again in SF in May when she was visiting a friend.

We went for lunch and then passed a fun but chilly afternoon drinking and talking about travel, hosting, life and a whole range of interesting subjects.

She's a real chatterbox, loves to talk and has a lot to say about many things which makes her a pleasure to talk to and hang out with. It was good fun to spend time with Kat again and when I'm in Hell A I'll look her up. :)

 

Kat has more personality than normally fits in one person (luckily, it's good stuff). We met at a CS dinner party, and though we didn't have a bunch of time together (or good proximity in the big table), it's obvious from that time, as well as from interaction on the group forums, that Kat has a keen empathy with others who offer a similar generosity - plus a strong sense of fairness and honesty. Lucky for us, she serves up all this goody-two-shoes presence with a tasty touch of the naughty rebel, just to keep things interesting! She's one cool Kat.

Miss Rebel Betty graced our floor with her presence last weekend. She was a very considerate houseguest and a totally dedicated csurfer. I'm always happy to meet a fellow traveler who is passionate about education. Until we meet again...

 

She's an absolute sweetheart! So passionate about Couchsurfing and about being a great guest to repay the Karma. I couldn't recommend her more. Cat seems destined to be one of those entirely cool people that's always connecting & plugging other people into worthwhile events/info/people. For example when I mentioned the local-community-urban-couchsurfing idea I'd had on joining the CS community she gave me the name of someone who's been living the life with flair and even organizing related events for awhile now. When my roommate brought up hitchhiking she clued us into digihitch.com. As a fellow connector, I applaud and salute you RebelBettie. May others discover your magic!

 

Kat went to great lengths to bring us back some wood for the bonfire. She was the first one to arrive, too. We shared stories unfortunately about an inappropriate CSer, but it showed me how passionate she is about having a safe and solid couchsurfing community. She's definitely experienced, and it was assuring to know that women can travel alone with freedom and ease.

Oh Kat, how I wish I'd met you earlier in my life. We met at the CS Bonfire party in San Diego and then for drinks and dinner in Hollywood. We blagged our way into a dark and deserted Hollywood Forever cemetery and proceeded to worship Johnny Ramone...
I love Kat for her zany humour and for providing me with the unquestionable highlight of my trip!!

kittie kat was, simply put, my sanity in the midst of a crazy year in spain. mostly because the insanity she dragged me into canceled out the insanity with which i was already dealing. shows, clubs, museums, travels, skeezey dudes -- everything was way more fun with kat. she's still one of my nearest and dearest though i don't see her as much as i wish i did. she is the best travel partner, accomplice, confidante, fiesta buddy. i love kat!

I met Kat at the bonfire in SD, I saw here again in Balboa park for Earth day. It was really nice to talk to here and her friends. I also had the chance to be with her for the way back, she gave me a ride back to Orange County. We then add time to discuss more. She is experienced in many fields and it was really interesting to exange ideas and tips with her.

 

Kat is one cool cat. She, Dave, and Julie were the pioneers of the 4th Fiesta Island bonfire - they were standing there bundled up in the cold grey weather, just the three of them 2 hours after the scheduled start time waiting for others to show up. What troopers. Come back and visit SD anytime - you have a place to stay. And I'll see you up in LA as well. hasta

 

My most excellent tour guide! Uber-uber intelligent and just a groovy gal. Grabbed some grub at a nifty lil restaurant, wandered thru the canals by night, and had a good time hearing her travel stories and pearls of wisdom. Very into the couchsurfing scene and very easy going. I reckon Kat's a genuinely good girl, and am glad I met her.

 

Enjoyed meeting you for dinner at Venice Beach and sharing travel stories. Thanks for hanging out with we three hitchhikers (on short notice) along with some other wonderful folks. Also good to see you again at Brian's the following week. You are part of a dynamic group of local CSers and I'm glad to meet everyone I did!

 

I have know Kat for some months now and I trust her dearly. What I appreciate most about her is not just her (imho) fantastic taste in music and her penchant for the LA nightlife (bootie LA, dive bars, etc), but her dedication to advocating diversity, educating against hate and stereotyping, and her strong concern for safety in our community, especially for other women. She's a wonderful person who is worth getting to know... and her knowledge of my cultural heritage is phenomenal no matter how much I tease her about it ;-)

Kat is willing to host, to travel, to attend and help organize gatherings making her a complete Couchsurfer. The best of all is that she is my friend!

2007 MAY 30:
as I tried to 'catch' everyone arriving at FinnMacCools here came this great gal that catched me! She was in the good company of Anna (CadillacDesert) a Global Ambassador, and both made the gathering all the more interesting. Katherine I definitely want to keep the connection with you o-p-e-n and hope to meet you at more gatherings.

 

Went out to LA to Dance Mashup/Bootleg. Had lots of fun. RebelBettie was there. She was with her friend. She was very outgoing and danced the night away. We talked a bit but mostly just danced. The night ended too soon. I hope to see her again at another event , meet , bonfire to get to know her better.

I got to know Kat a bit afer our firt meeting at a CS dinner. She was at every meeting I attended in LA/Long Beah.I was really happy she came to my going away party in Long Beach. I'll miss seeing her around and hope she can manage to come visit me in Europe someday.

She's a cool gal... very insightful and interesting to discuss actual current events. She seems to have done a good deal of traveling and meeting CS'rs. I'm sure she'll have a blast in Cambodia and looking forward to seeing her at more LA meetings (and downing some wine next time).

She beat me home..so she already wrote a reference. We met emailing in the Cambodia group..turns out we are neighbors and emailed for a while and met tonight Xmas night on the beach.
What a great person...and I can forsee us becoming better friends. so nice to meet a local person that has the same ideas, passion, and priorities in life as well as the love of travel! Furthermore, it is nice to have someone to understand the importance of wearing Lecroix when one travels and to greet one another as Sweetie Dahling...great meeting you and have a safe trip! Fun and crazy American! Unfortunately i wasn't able to host Kat while she was here. After meeting her i wish i would have taken some days off work just to be able to host her and spend some more time with her! We had a lot of fun exchanging quirky travel stories and calling her friend in LA talking danish to her.. I can't wait going to LA to visit her i am sure it'll be so much fun :)

The Kat and I were causing trouble back in high school driving around in her convertible dodge throwing mexican jumping beans at unsuspecting pedestrians...I do believe we´ve grown up a bit since then.

Talking with her was one of the good things in the bonfire. Nice time there!

Kat was just so nice and helpful for my one-night-connection in LA. She came to pick me up from the bus station in the evening and gave me a lift to the airport-bus route. She was really welcoming and helping, and we actually found out that we had met before through a common friend! That was a nice surprise. She is definitely one of the ones who give sense to the CSproject.

June: Kat was like to us as an old friend, and helped in many kind of way - car stuffs-...and she knows how to make a single movie unforgettable... by watching it in a semetary with other 1000 people :)

If you want to experience Los Angeles from a decidedly non-touristy angle, Katherine is the ultimate go-to guide to the city's seamy side. She knows the awesomest, quirkiest little places around, not to mention all the good eateries only locals could track down. And of course she's a truly fun and interesting person to hang out with, so don't miss the opportunity!

Katherine is a wonderful burst of energy. We met at the CouchSurfing gathering in Santa Monica. She is very friendly and outgoing. I had a great time meeting and talking with her. I like her style. I can't wait to see her at the next 'hurrah':))

 

We had some good talks and some greasy Irish bar food together... spring rolls wrapped in ham if I recall my dish correctly. It was cool finding out about the insider dirt at the museum.

She's one of those that really seems to like the hosting part. I got great facilities and real L.A experiences through the car window. Energic, happy, and I assume that she is great to party with.

 

Katherine has already completed her mission, she has become a world citizen and at the same time the number one tour guide in LA. She is a culturally superopen and exciting person. So you will have a lucky day if she has time for you.

Katherine is very busy for work, she still spent so much time to arrange transportation for me, even she is tried and have to work. She drives me if she can. And also took me for good food. I stayed in her room in a apartment and feel likes home. She's the great~!

World citizens rule. Kat's a really considerate and good-natured guest - all my friends who met her at a birthday party here thought equally highly of her and are jumping on the couchsurfing bandwagon at the prospect of meeting people from around the world like her! I enjoyed her company and would definitely host her again if she should be in my area.

Mostly harmless. Although she is part of the American scourge of imperialism that chokes the world, she's actually a great gal. I'd probably couchsurf with her if the only other vacancy was at Guantanamo Bay :P
