Robert McDonald

I met Rob when I was still raw with CS. He taught me almost everything that I know and practise in CS today. He is considered my master in CS.

 

Robert was kind enough to let me surf his couch even with his busy schedule. He's very generous and has a bitchin'
flat. He showed me around and connected me with other hosts and surfers so I could enjoy KL with great company. The couchsurfing community is a better place with him as an ambassador.

 

Robert has fully embraced the couch surfing experience and is a most accommodating host that makes and effort to give his visiting surfers more than just a place to lay their head. Always good for conversation and eager to share his knowledge about whichever city that happens to be his home at the time. Likewise as a surfer, he is considerate and extremely trustworthy. What can I say? He's my big brother and I love him!

Rob... what can i say about him? Our lives crossed path and i am more than happy to have him in my life. He is smart, funny, good cook (since i cant cook, and stop asking me to cook!), loving and a very passionate in whatever he is doing :)

Pls take good care of him :)

 

I finally had the opportunity to meet rob at the million member gathering in KL in March 2009. It was awesome to meet him finally in person after learning how passionate he is about couchsurfing over a period of time. Thanks for organizing some really amazing events and stepping in always when you are needed. Great host, great company and great

He's the first KL CSer I met and was very gracious with his time - took me to the yummy local food stalls for dinner and introduce me to a bunch of other CSers for drinks. I was well acclimated after my 2nd night!!

 

Robert is awesome. I met up with him when I went to grab a coffee with Sasha in KL. We hung out for a while and had some great conversations. He took me to probably the coolest bar in the city, and scared me when he told me about the "singularity event". Hope we meet up again soon.

Rob is a cool guy and very accommodating. The view from his place is AMAZING, you can see the Petronas tower across his window. Definitely the place to be if you love to party :)

Robert helped me a lot when I arrived at KL 2 days before it was planned. He introduced me to Kimberly (couchsurfing member) and I spent a night at her place and 3 nights with Robert.
Robert is very interesting to talk to. He has got great life experience!

Couch requested Rob in KL, though its a shame our schedule doesn't fit, I found his profile very intersting and I love his Aussie bluntness:) Hanged out together in a cs salsa party and had a good chat in his place the next day. Seriously nice apartment right next to KLCC! Enjoyed every word with him, his work and lifestyle truly inspired me. He is a very genuine and helpful mate who is always up for a beer and laugh, and parties in weekend!:D Really look forward to seeing u mate:)

It was really a great pleasure to meet Robert in KL where he hosted us... We were quite desperate to find somebody to host us during the celebration of Eid el Fitr and here he appeared offering us a couch eventhough he already had a guest!
Beyond his hospitality, he's also a great man with a big big heart and it has really been a pleasure to meet you guy!
Hopefully we'll have the pleasure to see you again very soon since we're neighboor and till then, take good care of yourself buddy!

He's as great host as great guest. Although he was extremely tired, he followed us in Singapore where our other guest wanted to see the lighting of Deepavali.

Rob hosted me and my friend for two nights. It was really generous of him to let us stay in his apartment the other night even though he wasn't at home himself. Too bad that we didn't have time to get to know each other better since we arrived in the evening and the next morning he had to leave for his trip. Hopefully we'll meet again somewhere :) And thanks for the tips to southeast Asia!

Rob is a sweet and friendly guy. We met up to chat and share some spicy Salsa dancing :) He's got a great spirit and Im sure you'll find him a great host!

Rob is super nice, extremely friendly and really easy to talk to. I wasn't able to stay with him, but I joined him for a night of salsa dancing with other couch surfers. It was great fun! If you are in Malaysia you'll definitely want to contact him! He can give you smart travel advice, teach you to salsa and show you a wonderful time.

Robert was an incredible host. He let us stay at his place last minute and when I had a terrible allergic reaction to mosquitoes he let us stay another night and helped me get to a doctor. To top off his generousity he is also a great person to talk to, and is especially knowledgeable about traveling SE Asia and gave us some great advice!

 

Robert got me in not such a good mood but that was not a problem. After talking to him I really felt great. His info about traveling and advices on how to continue my trip was just what I needed. Thanks

Rob was a gracious host. He had lots of information to give us and pass on for our future travels. He is very easy-going and hospitable. He supplies all you will need for your surfing experience. His apartment is beautiful and he was willing to take us out and tell us all about the city. We watched an exciting formula 1 race together that made me a fan. Thanks for the hospitality! I would definitely stay with him again!

First off, if you're stopping by KL, SURF AT ROB'S. It's a posh lux apartment with a pool with the most amazing view...just make sure not to park your car there for more than an hour, or you risk getting clamped and fined RM50...

Aaanyway, since Rob DID so graciously pay my RM50 fine *grins*, I should say some nice things about him; here goes:

Rob epitomises what a true couchsurfer should be - chillaxed, accomodating, up for just about anything and a bit silly even. I cut into his conversations 3 times the first time we met so he'd talk to me, and since then I've spun him into my KL posse web and we've had many a shisha, blokus and 3-hour-phone-convo-about-male-stupidity night together. He's been the best ear-lender during my worst times; rarely do I meet people who know just what to say when it needs to be said.

So yes, SURF AT ROB'S! :)

I think it's safe to say our friendship goes beyond CS, and I'll be bugging him about my guy problems for years to come. Just so he knows. ^^

 

I stayed twice with Rob. It was awesome to hang out with that guy, party hard, meet tons of cool people and getting over some serious hangovers. Hope to see him around sometimes! Keep those spirits up!

*On a balmy night in KL, a guy was sleeping in his room... I tip-toed by the doorway and asked, " Are you naked?" - Well, I had to check because Rob's posh apartment doesn't have a door to his bedroom, hence I didn't want to risk walking into him doing God-Knows-What :D.

Rob was my first couchhost and it was a wonderful experience to say the least. He got Patricia and I set up as soon as we got there and made us feel immediately at ease. He seems to know the KL night scene better than most locals and brought us to an awesome salsa club to dance the night away despite him being sick that day. Had great conversations and a chilled time hanging out with this OLD McDonald :D. His KL apartment has the most amazing view of the Petronas Twin Towers and the pool, we loved!

I couldn't have asked for a better couchhost for my first time. He could be a good first time for you too... ;)

Robert 'O Robert ... Where shall I begin? He can strike up a conversation with anyone instantaneously, and is a great person to talk to. Besides being all wise and very-experienced (indeed), Robert can beat you flat at partying too. 12-days Party Streak... *salutes you* Oh! By the way, my best friend Sue says he's a very nice person too =]

Rob's not a very fussy Couch Surfer. Easy to host, you won't regret it. He's a great host too, allowing me to Couch Crash (as he put it) his place after one long night of partying. Anyone wanting to experience KL City's Night Life, he's the guy you should look for.

 

Rob was kind enough to let me surf his place at the last minute.He is witty and knowledgable & although he seems to be quite busy with work at times, he can really party all nite long when it comes to having fun.We hit the KL clubs in one sleepless nite that ended at 6am next morning.Rob is one guy you definately must meet.

I emailed Rob randomly on CS, we met up couple of times at events and we have whole lots of fun together! Robert is really friendly, outgoing, open and fun. Although he's been living in KL for just couple of months but it seem like he's been here forever! :)

Ha, Rob is one cool Aussie! We met at a CS picnic and shared some seriously dodgy tequila and great food. He even came to my birthday party and DANCED!! I hope to see more of Rob (no, not in THAT way!! I am the picture of modesty) while he is in Singapore. He is interesting, smart and pretty damn funny, all you need for a great day out!

robert is my Ferrari buddy and he's right when he says we've shared ups and downs durin' F1 races. i think it is our love for the scarlet red that has made us friends. otherwise i doubt i would see robert venture out of punggol. but now he's leavin' his Ferrari family (me) for the land up north.. :(

Rob is my first surfer. He is like a travel encyclopedia. He has been to almost everywhere and experienced most life adventures. Friendly and fun guy, he makes a great surfer.

 

Robert! A guy with a lot of experiences and knowledge to share! And he's friendly and warm! He has talked to me about IT and marketing stuff, animals (as in what he has eaten and how animals are killed)! Hahaha...
And he's really brave... he ate pig's liver in Singapore~ Yeah....
Go meet up with him one day if you happen to be in Spore, he always have a map with him. ;)

If you're looking for a guest who is shy, don't talk too much and don't feels home immediately, don't host Rob. My laughmuscles (if they exist...) are still sore and my ears are still red of all the stories he told. Meeting Rob is like meeting an old friend I haven't seen for years. I hope I don't have to wait years before I see him again. Or else I tell him one of my friends is getting married, I'm sure I will see him then ;-P

 

Robert is very active in CS. I learned a lot about CS from him. I enjoyed his stories about his travels and expect to find him again somewhere on the blue marble. He's an avid investor too and it was interesting watching him track his stuff. He travels very well. I am impressed.

 

Extremely intelligent and witty guy. You can learn a lot from him if you are open to learning, especially about investing (trading and property). Motivated, confident, goal achieving but also lives life to the fullest.

And this is for the ladies out there who have yet to get to know him, if he wants you, he'll get you eventually. ;)

A knowledgeable traveller that made his presence felt in sunny Singapore. Robert is witty chap whom you can strike up a conversation with. A Ferrari fan whom I enjoy hearing commentary from whenever we are at Shahirah’s house for F1 race. Definitely a must meet person.

 

Rob is really really soooooo very nice calm humble knowledgeable kind interesting ,very pleasant. CS member in Miami contacted him for us the last minute for a couch. Him and his roommates opened their home to us. He even moved from his bedroom and let us sleep on his king size bed for two nights. Thank you Robert. Wishing you happy journey.

Wow. Simply...WOW! Rob's got it, man. He has got it IN SPADES. I want to be Rob when I grow up, seriously. He is the single most community-minded, motivated, organized, diplomatic person I have met on CS yet - and that's saying a lot!

After meeting up for various house-parties which he generously hosted and organized, we worked together to get the 3rd Sunday Potlucks idea on its feet in Miami. I liked spending time with Rob so much that I went out of my way to find chances to hang out, cook together, dance the night away and share travel stories. I'm counting down the days until I get to see him again...because I KNOW that I'm going to see him again.

Rob, whatever you need, never hesitate to ask me for it. I will charter a private jet and fly any where in the world to come to you if you are ever in distress. Or, ya know...give you a phone call, at least. ;)

It's easy to talk away a few hours with Rob. He has amazing stories about his travels. Rob is warm, friendly, and a fun person to hang out with. He really embodies what Couchsurfing is all about.

Great guy. Quite funny and a swell conversationalist. He definately has some amazing travels under his belt already (not to mention a good sense of direction).

Rob is an awesome person to share a home with. He's so laidback and relaxed all the time it's a pleasure to be in his company. He knows how to share and clean up after himself and doesnt even mind if his roomates don't.

Rob and his little kitten Ruby stayed in my home for a week. He was the perfect house guest, quiet, considerate and clean. He was very busy working on his computer most of the time, but we did share a few meals together, a beer in the hot tub and a lot of laughs. He is such an amazing and intelligent guy, and has traveled more than anyone I know. I helped him find a flat to rent, as well as took him shopping for food and computer parts. I am glad that he will be staying in the Miami area for awhile, so we can continue our frienship.
*Update 03/08 Since Rob is still in the Miami area, I have attended numerous get togethers with him. He is a fantastic CS ambassador and is great at planning events. His enthusiasm and ability to make people feel welcome is amazing!

This guy is unbelievable. He organized the event, hosted the event, shopped for the event, and even he cooked for the event...Whatelse can I say???It was wonderful meeting you Rob. Hope to see u in future CS events:)

Rob is a fantastic guy. He is very open-hearted, fun, relaxed, down to Earth guy that you can both talk with and let go with. You can see in his eyes that he is very experienced in engaging life and has many interesting stories to share. Rob is intelligent and wise without having a need to show it, showing he has a great sense of humility and compassion. He hasn't been a guest of mine yet, but I have enjoyed hanging with him at a couple of CS parties. He mingles very well and people just love his Aussie accent and great smile. It was fun meeting Robert at the CS meet in NYC, and listening to his stories. He's one cool dude living a dream life: traveling and not being tied to one place because of work. He's also a Formula 1 fan!

I met Rob at a Couchsurfing get-together in Fort Lauderdale, where we all ended up at my apartment by the end of the night.

Rob is a global citizen unfazed by the culture shock of China, growing up in a tiny farm town (like myself) or shopping in Mongkok. Then again, he was with The Bargainator, aka Ruby, and I think they found every good deal going. It was my pleasure hosting them.
PS The cats proved shortly after your departure that the rubber sheeting is indeed still necessary. Sigh. At least they have the courtesy to wait until the guests have left.

I met Rob at a CS gathering in Guilin. He is a very outgoing and energetic guy! i couldnt host him, but was so good that we could meet together for dinner in Guilin!

We met in Siem Reap with few other friends and we went to eat snake and crocodile meat in a cambodian bbq restaurant, the day after he showed us his amazing skills eating 3 dishes for dinner and he was still thinking about ordering something else! great guy!

 

Rob and I stayed in a pension together in San Sebastian, Spain while we both made our way in and out of Pamplona during the San Fermin festival in July.

He is extremely nice, insightful about travel, and very knowledgeable about a slew of different things. When I started getting frustrated about planning the future part of my trek, he jumped in and helped me plan my way on. He taught me a lot and saved me from a lot of headaches.

He's a great guy and you should definitely take the opportunity to meet him.

I met Rob and his girlfriend Ruby for dinner. He was an easy-going bloke who had loads of interesting stories. I admire the way he lives his life. Robert is a laid back person but also full of energy. I learned to be more laid back since I am always on the go. He came with his girfriend to surf at my couch for about 9 days. Initially was 3 days but we got along well enough to stretch it to more than 3 days. Very knowledgeable person and a good company to talk to. He is humble, and basically a good person to host. I hope to have Robert and Ruby back in my home again, whenever they come back to Malaysia! It was great to catch up with a fellow Aussie! Rob is definitely worth meeting, just to hear the infamous stuffed mascot story!!

Rob is a laid back guy, it's so easy to start a conversation with him. He sounds really pro-active in wanting to get things done in CS. I hope that when he comes to visit his home in Melbourne he'll help the Melb CS group to organise something. We could all do with a little Rob to motivate us to keep CS growing.

 

Robbie! I'm not going to lie--when Amelle told me we were meeting her australian couchsurfer, i thought "oh great, another blonde aussie travelling the world" but Rob is so lovely! He is very soft-spoken and well informed, and has a treasure trove of stories about CS and travelling. I was so happy to have spent some time with Rob during his journey--see you in Hawaii ;-0

 

Rob and I had a great time during his stay in Munich. I loved to hear stories about his travels, stories which made me hope I could pack my bags right away and head to new adventures. In return I tried my very best to show Rob some great things about Munich but there is only so much you can do in three days. I hope our paths meet again sometime, somewhere.

Rob, is living the dream, relaxed, good to talk to and loves wrestling. Did i say he's Australian as well. So hes scoring high. Im sure he can teach me a thing or two.

 

World is small with Couchsurfing :-)In fact, we met in Brazil with our mutual friend Cecilia. What a surprise when he send me a request to surf in my place in Paris after fews month !I had the chance to know him better and I discover a very interesting person with a great personnality. Also, I admire his adventures and his passion for travel. Can't wait to read your "memories of couchsurfer" about your amazing experience during your world trip ^_^

 

Robert is definitely a very interesting human being: smart, kind, generous, a real gentleman.
As I told him several times he should write a book about the incredible experience he’s doing travelling all around the world.
You can really learn more than you can imagine talking with him. It has been hard for me to let him go, because at the end is not just a CS experience that we lived but a real friendship experience.
I sincerely hope to meet you again, in LA or wherever, I’ll try, starting from today, to improve my “Australian”!! ;-)

An easy-going guy.He reminded me how wonderful couch surfing is!

 

A man with a plan (sort of). Great guy, no BS, trustworthy. I admire his determination and honesty, I think he will have great sucess in whatever he pursues. When he gets to Hawaii I will show him the best.

The story is actually funny; first we were thinking to travel together around Europe in summer 07, then he made his way to somewhere else, but somehow we met in Paris while traveling! We spent a night under the beautiful Tour Eifell, went to the Monet Garden & House together, and danced in a "cool" bar! Robert is a friendly person, he'd like to help you about anything, and he is talkative, and if you ever happen to feel sometimes he's talking too much and hyperactive just cook him some chicken since he loves eating chicken and he wont be happier and all quite for a while!:) and if your house is near Starbucks, keep in mind that if he is not at home, he'll be probably there sipping his coffee whilst getting busy with his computer!:) I'm happy to know you Robert!

 

my sister and her future husband (Pascal) stayed with Rob in Melbourne so this time it was up to Rob to come to Belgium. We met at Pascal's b-day party and spent the weekend together. Rob is a great storyteller and had no problem at all blending in at a Belgian b-day party. I'm looking forward to host him some day in Gent :)

 

Rob is a great guy, who took the effort to really spend some time with us. We wish him all the best, and hope to see him one day overhere in Belgium.

Update 23/07/2007: Rob just left, on his world Tour 2007. He stayed at our place for 3 days, and we had again a wonderfull time; with an excellent BBQ.

Update 13/05/2008: Rob came over to attend our wedding. What a great surprise... Thank you man. :)

Rob is a really nice guy, with a lot of experience about life, travel or couch surfing! always ready to discover especialities, he learned us too a lot about Australia! he is a fantastic cooker and it was a real pleasure hosting him! meet him, his experience will change you!

Well ... Robert is that kind of person with whom you are at ease. Relaxed and friendly (with no worries and no problems)and with a good cultural level, he is the type of person that I recommend to everybody. If you have the chance host him.

 

Robert contacted me as a Peggy's friend. I couldn't host this week end, but because he knows Pegguy i finally found him a couch (in a friend's room). I felt a little bad to couldn't give him more hospitality for his first time in Lyon. But Robert is a so easy going and nice guy that he accomodate with that. Rob! I'm so sorry to haven't been a good host and I promise you to show you another face of Lyon the next time you'll come here ;-)

POOR DESPERATE UGLY GUY...
Well, in Psichology,somebody who spend so many words,like a kind of poem,to describe about general things or negative aspects of people,has really gigantic problems of frustrations and much more,rarely seen with men,usually.

Second thing: a person who has been hosted for 3 days and used everything of my house,should have a totally different way of gratitude or try to moderate his assumptions,at least.

A PERSON LIKE THIS IS ABSOLUTELY WEIRD.

This person contacted me the first time using an easy "trick": talking himself about 'wrestling' that he considered a good 'strategy' :-( but after to have told him it was noway a strategy, I've accepted his request.

I didn't had an opponent for him,so that this person has never been asked to wrestl,since after more than 30 years of martial arts,I have no minimum interest to compete with a similar 'underweighted frog'.

He has been my MOST BORING guest in absolute,ready to stay 3 days in the other room with his computer,without exchange any minimum word with me.
Although this I provided for a full hospitality.

For last,he contacted me supposing to have lost his precius toy (immature habit)in my house and honestly I confirmed that I had it,but that,honestly,cause my horrible experience with him,I was noway interested to do any further effort to send it to him,but if he wanted to come here to take it back,he could have done that.
He started with a sequence of unusual "menaces" like never received before and that I'll be able to let you read in full,as that you can judge by yourself.
Ehm,honestly,with a martial backround,I can't stand menaces from anyone .-)

For last,I've finally discovered a misunderstanding,that I supposed he meant the 'small-toy' he gave me as a gift and that I had supposed he wanted back.Only after one month,I had clear that I don't have at home the big toy he was meaning and that you can see on his picture,so that I told him that I hadn't any fault for that.At my age I definitely don't need to rubber my guests their toys!
He told me already in advance that he wanted to leave me a negative reference anyway.

His psichologyc profile is for me clear and I've consulted others collegues and even some hosts of him agreed about my idea on him.
I'm able to produce any kind of possible documents above him,if requested.

Probably I'll denounce this personage and send him under law,cause he definitely ruined my image over the necessary. However what will follow won't be published on this pages.

My future guests will be free to ask me,judge and decide if to be my guests or not. This is noway my main trouble.
.-) Every 160 hosted people an accident can always happen,at all.

p.s. Like supposed,this guy enjoy in

But I just ask you ALL one thing: how would you feel at my place or if you should read all this from someone who's been your guest in full,and for 3 long days?! Try to reflect on your own..

This person is also a gigantic lier: I received a reference from the 95% of my guests,so it's not clear how he could have had the chance to meet personally ALL the few ones who didn't leave me any .-)

Now without your 'mascot toy' :) I woudn't wonder if you shouldn't back home safe. But it would be fully merited,at all .-) A weird person like you who enjoy provocating damages in the others profiles definitely is not mentally healthy and....

Good back to Australia,mate! There, is Your place,but honestly,I wish you strongly to crash somewhere .-)

Rob was great, interesting to talk to about all his past and future travels. jealous of all his upcoming travels...!!

Met Robert in Praja Calabria at the same hostel, he's a great guy livin a dream of some trades on Sunday and traveling in between :) He could give me some tips in the stock market as a newbie straight from academics and helped me out with money when all the banks were closed. We went riverrafting today, hope market stays bullish for you :)

Robert is a very nice host, we really felt at his place like at home. He is very welcome in Moscow, we hope that he will realise his plan to visit Russia.

I surfed my couch to Robert for three days and he was a perfect guest! He is a very nice person: easy going,open minded, polite and pleasent.Have a nice trip around the world, Robert!

I met Rob in Barcelona where we were staying in the same hostel. He's a very friendly and easy going guy. Also, you will definitely not get lost while traveling with him!

Rob was an excellent guest. Good conversation, and very knowledgeable about the CouchSurfing project.

 

Robert is one of a kind! I really enjoyed picking his brain about his knowledge in trading and investing. Not only is he knowledgable with trades, he made himself right at home in my kitchen. Thank you for the most delicious corn beef! And thanks to Rob, I am equipped to mash potatos for future couchsurfers ;)

Robert has been a nice and considerate guest.Sometimes,very quite from an italian point of view of course :-)

Rob and I met in Marseille through a CS host, only to discover that we would both be staying at the same place in Avignon as well. A really great guy; his optimism and passion for travel is inspiring!

 

An intelligent guy. He is my mentor in share trading. I am happy to see him traveling around the world. If you need to know anything negative about him, ask me, i will tell you in private. :)

 

Rob was busy attending a conference and was happy to share his knowledge with us. We hardly knew he was there. He was nice enough to care for our house and dog while we were away for a weekend.

Rob is a good guy - very enthusiastic about travel and meeting people - he is a good talker and is very friendly .... CS is better for having him as a member!

Met Robert with some other CSers for a quick beer and chat before he left for Barcelona. Cool and very easy to talk to, he's got the vibe of that real traveller who loves the road and helping other wanderers along the way. Hope to cross paths again, mate! ;-)

We exchanged e-mails over CS and we finally managed to meet for a drink just before he left town. Rob is a wonderful genuine person. It's a shame I didn't get to spend more time with him though ... I would have enjoyed to listen to his travel stories and talk to him much more!! So I really do hope to meet him again and catch up on this :)

Robert and I have one day together in Dublin visiting the jail and the James Johnson ditillery.
He travells a lot and we have some good time together during this sunny day.

Rob is a fun, story telling, typical aussie extroverted character, and he comes with a sense of humor. Well worth hosting… And we know he’ll be back to Lisboa, a couple of days are just not enough. Enjoy the rest of the trip, until your return!

Were at the bus with my friends in Ireland. He looked bit confused when we were talking swedish. Anyway, started to chat and it turns up that both of us are CS members! We went to a Blarney Castel and he seems to be a very friendly and relaxed person and a good company!

 

Robert is a great guy, laid back, great sense of humour and great company. Rocbert stayed with me for 4 nights in april and I really enjoyed his company Very interesting guy. i hope that we will get to meet up again in the future

I sat on the bus to Blarney with my friends when Robert suddenly asked us where we came from and when we had chatted for a while we realised that both were members here! He told us a lot about couchsurfing and his travels and it was very interesting to hear about his experiences. If u come to sweden and gothenburg I promise to give u a guidingtour =)

Come on Robert, go traveling after March so that we can go to see F1 together!! He is a nice guy and told us lots of things about share trading, we eojoy the moment with him.

 

It was quite a brief visit but Rob has left a great impression. Very friendly, easy going with a great outlook on the whole couchsurfing thing, I reckon he's on a mission to meet every member face to face by the time he's done travelling. I had so much stuff to show him about these northern parts but alas there wasn't time.....so hurry back!

Rob is a really laid back guy and we had a great 2 nights of hanging out at a gig and then at the movies! I would have no hestiation in hosting him again!

Rob is a real couchsurfer! He totally got the idea of this project that is travel around not only to see places but to meet people and exchange experiences with them. He's so easy-going and a very organized guest. On top of that, he brings nice thank-u goodies. :)

Rob was a wonderful houseguest and was even kind enough to help entertaining my kid cousins in town from L.A. He is more than welcome on our couch anytime!

Robert is a wonderful ambassador to Australia and an extremely enthusiastic spokesperson for Couchsurfing. He is easy-going, considerate, fun and just about everything you would want from a guest or host. I look forward to keeping in touch and seeing where his travels take him.

Robert was my first CouchSurfer and I could not have asked for a more low-key, obliging guest in my home. And we are both Helpers, too; how 'bout that?!

 

Rob was an easy-going and low-maintenance guest who fit into our work life-style for that crazy week. We were pleased to be able to host him. Definitely enjoyed learning about real estate and financial investments. He left us with a wealth of info, which we are grateful for! All in all, he is truly a wonderful guest!

Rob was a great couchsurfer, the kind you wish there were more of. He's both very sociable and very independent, comfortable being dragged along to dinner parties or spending the day wandering alone.

Rob has a great sense of humor. It was a bloast hanging out with him.

 

Robert was a great and easy going guest for this first time couch surfing host. Full of lots of useful information including how to use public transportation in LA. Had heaps of fun in Disneyland, probably more than he's willing to admit ;)

 

Got to meet Rob in Rio and spent good times chatting to him before we met up to party on the beach.

Rob was a wicked guest!!! He didnt mind my navigation skills, he liked my father's cooking (a must), he brought me lots of international culture (YAY!!!), we had long and interesting chats about everything and even my cat loved him (so much that he didn't let Rob sleep... lol) If you get to know him, you'll have a great time as he's genuinely a nice guy!

Rob is warm hearted and extremely easy-going. He fit right in at my house and with my friends and I recommend his company to anyone.

Robert hosted me for a weekend+. He was a gracious host and I felt at home. Met some of his friends, enjoyed a night out with drinks, and shared many great stories. I wish him the best of luck on his journey and he is more than welcomed to stay with me in the states (wherever I end up at.)

He is the brother of a good friend. Very friendly, and great company. Well worth hosting or meeting in his journey across the world!
