Groups I Belong ToCouch Information
Couch Available: Maybe Preferred Gender: Any Max Surfers Per Night: 17
Shared Sleeping Surface: Depends Shared Room: DependsThere are many rooms and spaces and things to sleep on. If you are the only guest (unlikely) you can sleep in the guest room. Check http://casarobino.org/
This house is here for nomads who want to have a (temporary or returning) base: people who are traveling, hitchhikers and people sleeping on the street; I have a nice and warm place for you to -if needed- regenerate. See also http://casarobino.org/category/tags/about
I prefer people who stay for longer periods (a minimum of one week that is, up to some months possibly), but there is also crash-space available for last-minute requests.
The only rule in the house is that there are no rules, just some guidelines:
* The house does not like dead animals nor fish;
* You take what you need and share what you want;
* Once you are in the house, you share the house.
Contact Method
If you decide to write me through Couchsurfing (least prefered option for me), give me your e-mail address. Your e-mails are forwared, but I hardly sign in to Couchsurfing. You could also sign up at the Casa website, and write me or any other host from there. Friends (182)

Personal DescriptionI am the kind of person my own parents warned me about. I heard stories of me appearing in people's nightmares. That's no joke. I am not sure what to do about this all, I even lost interest in trying to be nice to people.
Some people insist in being friendly though. They say I am a nice fellow with a decent sense of humor. I disagree with that: my humour sucks.
Some people also say I am a good host. I think those people are just a bunch of bullshit. I live in a house with many hosts (including you maybe?), they are nicer than me, much nicer.
Generally I have a tendency to be slightly narrow-minded, and I also am somewhat socially alienated. I have a boring life, as I spend most of my time in my own created social bulb, which mostly consist out of computers. So be aware that if you are looking for a cool, friendly, open-minded, fun-to-be-with person who you can have deep conversations with, be sure to not write me or you will be heavily disappointed. How I Participate in CSI try to convince people as much as possible that CS is a nice network to have, but that the organisation is a completely corrupted gang of cult-status seeking wankers (excuse my language). The pity is that there are quite some people who are willing to help out, but after a long or short time, they all tend to reach the same conclusion: fuck this shit.
At the same time I totally believe in the concept of hospitality exchange - and in different ways I am very much committed to help opening up the world to more sharing, exchange and to enable a culture of giving.
One of the things I have done for that is organising SHE, a conference on hospitality exchange and networks, such as Couchsurfing, bewelcome and servas. SHE took place in the end of June in Amsterdam 2008 and there is likely to be another SHE-type conference soon.CouchSurfing ExperienceI like to share my house. But most people in the house are not sure when the house is at its best: when I am around or when I am not around ;)Interests-Long term hospitality
-Sitting together with the older men on a random bench in a random street in a random town, observing how life goes by slowly. And to suddenly get up, to run fast and to overtake it again!
-Magic Bikerides, especially in Amsterdam and Barcelona and on Pegasus.
-Music, Reading, Writing, Traveling, Photography
-Meeting new people and to have an active social life (blegh!) -> please remind me to delete this interest!
-I love chess, you can challenge me online.
-Having dinners with lots of random people eating food from the Dumpsters.
- Starting a trip with not knowing what will be next. Philosophy- There is no spoon. For real. (still) (The tea-pot also magically disappeared)
- There is no box either - so stop thinking !
- A beach-house isn't a real estate but a state of mind.
- Jo no sóc guiri, jo parlo català.
- Punks & Hippies > Unite & Transform!
- Synergy between Anarchy & SpiritualityMusic, Movies, Books- Last books I read (in that order, but not exclusive): 'Forward the Foundation', 'The art of dreaming', 'One flew over the cookoo´s nest', 'True hallucinations', 'So long, and thanks for all the fish', 'The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket', 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas', 'Mostly Harmless', 'The Shadow of the Wind', 'Generation X', 'The White Castle', 'My name is Red', '1954', 'The Reader (Der Vorleser)', 'Sinbad the Sailor', 'Dubbelspel', 'De Passievrucht', 'Ik Jan Cremer', '99 francs', 'Extension du domaine de la lutte', 'L'uomo che guarda', 'Youth', 'Tox' (I need it back!), 'Siddharta', 'Into the Wild'.
- Movies that left an impression: The Illusionist, Princess Mononoke, Ice Age, Happy Feet, Dogville, Perfume, Baise Moi (for Christmass), Death Proof.
- Music: See what I generally listen to on My LastFM page.Types of People I enjoyI live from random encounters.
I like to meet people who relate themselves to others, who understand empathy, who understand the idea of facilitation (very important to me, it is about facilitating people, conversations, situations, etc). I like people that are into something, whatever that is, and who can share that something. I like people who can share their inspirations.
I like people who stick to their principles (without being rigid), who know what they are doing and know how they got there. I love people who know how to be guided by kosmos. I also tend to like people who are lost and are looking for new ways to find themselves or (renew) the world around them.
I really dig people who skip 'boring' W-questions (who are you, where are you from and what do you do?) and can go straight to commonalities or absurd randomness.
Actually, I don't like questions at all, or they must be really good. Something like: what is the difference between a dog and a dog?Teach, Learn, Share- Art of Hosting
- Photography, language exchange, recipes exchange
- I can help you to install GNU/Linux and configure it to your liking !!
- I am looking for someone who can help me healing my Bonsai a.s.a.p.! too late, she already died, I guess I wasn't ready for a Bonsai yet ... (Maybe I am now?) > We received a new Bonsai, can you believe it? Wonderful! One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done* I got myself a new camera twice.
* I never got myself a driving license. (I only like cars for one reason: hitchhiking)
* I planted herbs in Parliament Square in London.
* Hitchhiking from Amsterdam to Istanbul in 4 months, while visiting back friends, and to put up the thumb when temperatures are reaching 50 degrees.
* Living in Istanbul for 3 months and Barcelona for 3 years.
* Visiting the hot-springs of Pamukkale at 7 in the morning and to find Russians in bikini's and speedo's.
* Receiving a legendary Milkyway-dance-show.Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org ProjectA lost cause. Hospitality is about sharing but from my experience the top-down structured CS-organisation is not based around that ideal. Read more at http://opencouchsurfing.org. From Ella Barlow Barcelona, Spain Nov 14 Positive Robin pulls off baking bread, breaking bike axles, being a Casa mentor and making a nuisance of himself with incredible ease. Although he likes to pretend he is somewhat of an ogre, everyone really knows he's actually quite a nice fellow... A pleasure to finally meet this Robino so often mentioned...
From Wrenaqua Claus Groningen, Netherlands Oct 19 Positive He's a rly cool nomad ;)
From Matt Lipschutz Greenwich, United States Aug 20 Positive Robino is awesome. It's as simple as that.

From Francesca Romana Borgia Rome, Italy Jul 2 Positive I ended up in casa robino to have a thai massage given by amylin (who is now in turkey), then I started to join the thursday meetings once in a while...at first I judged him as being "too dutch" (foreigners living in amstedam like me will understand),but I rapidly changed my mind and had some sneaky preview of the sweet, generous and peaceful person that he is.Hope to have more chances to start a cool frienship :) take care of my plant! peton
From IVYBOR Rutigliano, Italy Jun 27 Positive I left a few minutes and already felt the lack of Robino and friends, the atmosphere of the house ... have that sensation in the stomach when things are interrupted ... the need to have more time to spend together ... however, this is life ... a result of coitus interruptus ... not know how things can evolve ... I hope one day to have a second chance ... Double wow for Robino and friends... A great big hug !!!
From Fernanda Fajardo Brooklyn, United States Jun 23 Positive two sweet nights, came and left so quick, a new spaces full of hugs and joining of random peoples, this should be the way to run life...and here it is, and thank you 000so very much for spreading it into my own stinky little life
From WET Cisternino, Italy Jun 21 Positive CasaRobino is pastaMadre inside, that becomes bread to share. Great!!! I expect you to trullo. There is hard work for Robin! ;)
From Michiel Jansen Rotterdam, Netherlands Jun 19 Positive Visiting Casa Robino was quite an experience I can recommend. Not being a guest, but being a host in an "open house".
Dumpsterdiving and a huge diner with about 20 people. A house which hopefully wil never be too small.
Thanks for a great stay.
From Alice Kane London, United Kingdom Jun 18 Positive I got invited in Casa Robino by my friend Marc for an amazing delicious meal which was a great experience and Robino is such a awesome guy he opens his home and likes to share ideas/knowledge with the world:-)

From Offer Kohen Amsterdam, Netherlands Jun 16 Positive It was an honor to start my couchsurftv.com film journey at "Casa Robino" and be hosted by Robino and the people staying at his house.
Robino is a power burst of creativity and life energy. he is exploring life affirming integration of his mind and spirit. great social skills and spontaneous curiousity. He would be a pleasure to host or be hosted in his heart openning "Casa Robino".
You will be so very glad you did. Either way, you will feel his presence long after you leave!!
From Neo Chung Princeton, United States Jun 12 Positive he challenged me to hitchhike from maastricht to amsterdam one evening. i did and was welcomed into the magical casa robino. Sweetest community, host, and base for all independent travellers. thanks lots..
From Sunny Abbi Aachen, Germany Jun 10 Positive Staying with Robino and other Couch Surfers was the most lovely experience in my life .
I do not have words to describe the warmth and home like i felt by being in his place .
From Aurélien Chantrenne Vannes, France May 25 Positive Casa Robino or the house of happiness, where so many experiences and meetings or possible, in the middle of Amsterdam we are in the center of the world!

I felt welcome the the second the door was opened and the hugs were given. I will miss you! And do not forget to drop by if you ever come to Thailand. Big warm hugs!
PS. I forgot to add that I have not stopped tell everyone I know how impressed I was when staying at your place. You are a truly angel and it's still hard to believe that people like you do exist in this world. Thank you for proofing it. My world is brighter and I'm inspired to live and share more.
From Lorédan Füeg Gland, Switzerland Mar 25 Positive We had no idea where to sleep with my girlfriend as the train from Koln enterred the Amsterdam station. But suddenly I received an SMS from Robino explaining us how to get at his place. The stay there was marvellous. We had our bikes, our room, cooked what we wanted with what we found on the dumpster and met in three days around twenty nice people. And above all, a few days after, Robino will save us as we are looking in vain for a last minute couch in Vienna by directing us to a friend of him.
See you in month in Madrid!
From Rene Pigier Amsterdam, Netherlands Mar 21 Positive Robino is a close-minded, grumpy and above all not nice person.
Love him.
From Wasntmeboy Vienna, Austria Mar 21 Positive If somebody would ask me for my most interesting CS Experience - i would just answer 2 words. CASA ROBINO. And then i would smile.
Also the circumstance that not i found this couch, no the couch found me! And the whole place with all the great humates there touched me deeply.
Robin made my surfing to ........ i cant explain!!
But what i can say is that i refuled my energie there, and everybody was sharing everything.
I am realy looking forward to see you all again.
Thanks for finding me, and for sharing this unforgetable moments all together.
Stay tuned
Wolfgang
From Davide Carpano Amsterdam, Netherlands Mar 6 Positive My father always told me that in life you should always look for amazing people, people who you know you can trust, and whose example you would want to follow. Robino is one of these people. An example of how to live. Warm, caring, accepting, and every other positive adjective you could think of.
From PINKMUFFIN Ljubljana, Slovenia Feb 25 Positive he's warm and caring. i sensed that, even though we met only for a short drink. we spent relaxing time sharing stories in old part of ljubljana. i hope our paths cross again someday, maybe even for some creative project. R, good luck, and keep inspiring;)
From MIRTILLOSMILE Brooklyn, United States Jan 13 Positive Robino and what I would call "casa Robino sharing approach" are contagious and highly addictive. He is one of those amazing people able to open your eyes on parallel universe. Thanks to him and to the beautiful minds I met in his house, I feel pushed to live my inspirations instead than sleeping and wondering about my dreams. there are no words that can explain how sometimes people can help you to change your life.
Thanks a lot for the great job!
From Alan Wilkes Madrid, Spain Dec 29, 2008 Positive Robin's "Casa" is one of the coolest ways to experience Amsterdam. I met numerous interesting, intentional, and inspiring people. I enjoyed the many conversations, the laughs, and the freegan food very much and look forward to my next sorjurn .
From Derick Galea Wellington, New Zealand Dec 18, 2008 Positive I had an amazing extreme hospitality experience in CasaRobino. They are forging a new way to travel and host which goes beyond the couchsurfing model, encompassing all facets of life. The energy and ideas Robino and co. are generating there and that I was fortunate enough to be a part of will stay with me forever. And on top of it all Robino is such a cool, generous and positive guy!
From Dennis Collective San Francisco, United States Nov 23, 2008 Positive Robin is the rockstar I've been dreaming of encountering, observing him is a great way for me to learn how to be a more hospitable person.
The Radical hospitality experiments he is involved in inspire me, and I want to get more involved.
I hope we cross paths again.
From Flore Guiffault Trier, Germany Nov 7, 2008 Positive I passed in Amsterdam a very pleasantly week! The casa robino is full of positive energy and people. I hope i will see you again! (and danse again!)
From Клифф Лиу Cliff Liu Toronto, Canada Oct 14, 2008 Positive His living room is ALIVE!!!!! There are constantly things and people there, it's definitely the place to be in Amsterdam! I love his philosphy...ahaha, and also his concept of S.H.E.... and he is a hitchhiking pro.... we hitchhiked together briefly in the 888, because of that influence, my travels in Germany was so much more meaningful and fun
Remember the quote you showed me, Robino? I put it everywhere, almost.. on the camino de santiago... because it was so fitting
If you want to know the quote, you will just have to go to his place ;)
From Anita Ladišić Otocac, Croatia Sep 23, 2008 Positive i just love what he does - sharing home with whoever needs it...indeed it is a shelter for all nomads wandering around this world, and a perfect place to relax and get your thoughts together....it is stupid to say:thanks for letting others be who they are, so i will just say-i am so happy that i've met you...inspired by things written on your wall i learned that every place is a right place;)
From Mark Burban Melbourne, Australia Sep 16, 2008 Positive Robino is an excellent man, he showed me that there are better options than couchsurfing alone, using tools such as www.bewelcome.org & www.hitchwiki.org , tools i suggest every traveller use.
& I look fwd to staying with him again & participating in creating some cool shit.
From Noemi Stysiak Wroclaw, Poland Sep 8, 2008 Positive you're soooo cool, and also a life-saver for me and Maurycy:) We miss you already!
From Kai Gelhard Marburg, Germany Sep 2, 2008 Positive Robino saved our hitchhiking trip by taking us in for one night on our way back to Berlin. We had a nice chat & he showed us a good spot to hitchhike out again.
From Maribel Vargas Lima, Peru Sep 2, 2008 Positive Unfortunately we didn`t have too much to know each other, but the short time i met him was very nice. He`s exactly the kind of simple person who i think shold exist more in this world. Generous, desinterested, free in what he wants und who helps people because he wants to. The nice people staying at his place were also very nice with me, and i felt more than confortable there, i could say that for a moment i could feel as if i arrived home and were somebody there. Amsterdam was a beautiful city for me, and my time at Robino`s place made it better.
Thanks a lot, Robino, and anything that i can do for you, just let me know.
From GARTHELGARD Berlin, Germany Aug 29, 2008 Positive I first met Robino ghost-guesting his appartment- It was fun and Robino loved it too: is he staying is he not staying...hummm. Couchsurfing was then the next step and that was fun too!
Robino is an inspiring guy, energetic, funny, spontaneous, witty, generous and highly hospitable (he even loves ghost-guests!!! I swear!)
He put a lot of effort in organizing the 888 project with us and I cannot thank him enough for introducing me and others to hitchwiki. I would love to teach him how to bark but we would have to hitchhike to T-O-K-Y-O- for that.
From MADABOUTTHEWORLD Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 24, 2008 Positive Thanks a lot for everything Robin! He let us in with a very short notice. I wrote in the Amsterdam group if it really was impossible to find a couch and he wrote a prompt reply! This guy sends out so many positive vibes and we felt more at home than just welcome at his place:-) One night we were even 12 people sleeping there!! Everyone was so sweet and had many cool stories to tell. Great to eat dinner and drink wine with everyone. If you ever get to Copenhagen I am sure you have people lining up for hosting you, but pleeeaase stay at my place!! Take care.
From Alexander Olsson Trollhattan, Sweden Aug 18, 2008 Positive Robin's got love tattooed on his forehead, and would probably hug cockroaches if it was possible! Helped me out when I was in real need of roof over my head, a shame we didn't get to be more social due to the lack of time. I'd definitely would want to meet up again!
From Zoe Luca Maastricht, Netherlands Aug 14, 2008 Positive Ah, what can I say about this man... We met during the 888 hitchhike to Paris and, already then, he provided me with so much support (it was my first hitchhike). So good-natured and kind, I had hardly spoken with him and already I was glad to have met him. Then a few weeks later he took me and a couple of friends in while we visited Amsterdam. His home was our home. He is so welcoming and warm... We met fantastic travelers also staying with him, and listened to home-made music (using kitchen utensils as accompaniment to the guitar). All in all, an unforgettable experience. Meet this man and let him inspire you, I guarantee that something in you will change in some way. Take care of you!!
From Patryk Dziwiński Bartoszyce, Poland Aug 11, 2008 Positive Robin is a very nice fellow, with decent sense of humour. I spent around 5 days at his place, and those were best days during my trip through Netherlands and Belgium. Looking forward to show up there again dude !
From Jacek Kubas Lodz, Poland Aug 11, 2008 Positive One of the first couchsurfers I ever met. I think that not every couchsurfer is worth of staying in your place. We already met in BCN and Amsterdam so where next ? Remember that you are always welcome in my place Saludos
From Jamie Seiffer Burlington, United States Jul 26, 2008 Positive Robino helped me out when I didn't have a place to stay and he was the perfect rescue host. He's very big into the hospitality movement and reccomended some CS functions that I attended and at which I had a great time. He was also kind enough to lend me a bike which is certainly the best way to travel around. Thanks Robin for hosting me when I was in need, you certainly are the real deal.
From Anna Stawska Warsaw, Poland Jul 23, 2008 Positive Robin is a special kind of host with a very easy-going attitude towards his numerous guests. Warm and supportive when you need help. Thanks.
From Hans Berendijk Amsterdam, Netherlands Jul 22, 2008 Positive Robin is hardcore hospitality interesting person
He introduced me to SHE and 888
From Leeda Safa Scottsdale, United States Jul 19, 2008 Positive Where do I start?! There's a first for everything, and Robin's house was our first- our 1st cs, our 1st day in Europe, the 1st city we fell in love with...we couldn't have asked for a better host to kick-start our crazy trek through Europe. Robin's house is like a mini Amsterdam- something crazy around every corner, living room is like your own cozy coffee shop, you get to meet and party with awesome friends of his like 'Mike the Man' and we even had live music!! Cheers to you Robin for all the memories ...and video hehe.
From Hilary Bolek Melbourne, Australia Jul 16, 2008 Positive Crazy crazy times. I would not have made it to London without this guy, the sign he made me was so pretty! Felt very welcome and at home with Robin. When people have such open trust in another, it makes you feel, well, like smiling :)
From Dmitrij Odnokoz Kiev, Ukraine Jul 14, 2008 Positive A'dam CS meetings could not be so positive without him!
Thank you very much!!!
From THE WIND WHISTLES Coquitlam, Canada Jul 13, 2008 Positive Robin is a great person and was really interesting to talk with. We only got to stay one night so we didn't get to spend a lot of time together, and hope that someday we can. We did cook together! Even though it was a short visit, he really made us feel like we were at home. And he has an amazing variety of teas!
From Neeltje Bagchus De Koog, Netherlands Jul 7, 2008 Positive Robin is great entertainment. Especially for kids! He played hide and seek with our childeren, a lot of football and chess with our oldest. Although he was exhausted from all of this he still had the energy to out (actually I think this gave him energy somehow).
Robin is good fun and easy to get along with. Feels like a good friend instantly. He's the type you don't need to ask 3 times before he wants something to drink. I like that!
From Aylin Loğlişi Amsterdam, Netherlands Jul 7, 2008 Positive I'm really impressed by Robin's ability to bring together a good community of people. He has such a welcoming attitude, paired with excellent hospitality. SHE was great, man! Robin is funny, in many ways. I mean, he has many ways about him and constantly-changing facial expressions, of which are fairly hard-to-read yet never-the-less amusing. I really dig his photography, stories, and similar and different viewpoints.
From Petter Goldstine Amsterdam, Netherlands Jul 2, 2008 Negative Negative.
Two negatives make positive!
From Lucas Dentone Buenos Aires, Argentina Jun 27, 2008 Positive robin was my first experience in CS, he is realy cool to be with. i spend 15 great days in his place and drinked a lot of himalaya thee.
From Danielle Belsky New Brunswick, United States Jun 18, 2008 Positive He hosted me and four of my friends for five days a little while back, even though he wasn't even there! The amount of trust he invested in us was absolutely unbelievable... we were blown away by his generosity. We loved his place, so spacious and lovely, and we made sure to take good care of it! Thanks so much... hopefully I can thank you in person if I'm ever in Amsterdam again!
From Sarah Fournier Sherbrooke, Canada Jun 14, 2008 Positive Robino is an excellent host. I felt very at home at his place. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
From JEANYVES Vitre, France Jun 10, 2008 Positive We spent two days together working at the BeVolunteer GA. My feeling is that this will happen again several time in the future
From james Williams Eisdorf, Germany Jun 6, 2008 Positive what are you doing this summer come to iran or something
robino man this guy is a lad, he has got his head in the right place, thinking bout the future being super productive, i am quite envious of these ppl and he givs me hope in this decadent world we exist in today. keep it up man.
From Mike Sevelin Brasilia, Brazil Jun 1, 2008 Positive Extremely Positive is not enough. Robin is super duper extremely positive.
He says he is being a boring and slightly narrow-minded man whom picks his nose and doesn't wash himself nor his clothes. He also farts and barks. (But that is not a problem because he doesn't smell)
Well he is probably the worst lier i have ever met.
HE IS broadminded, intelligent, funny, friendly, giving, sharing, smiling, humoristic, interesting, trustworthy, charming and he is definitely washing himself and his cloths.
No comments abut the farting.
If there was a world championship in hosting i am sure he would bring a gold medal for Netherlands.
So thank you for the hosting lesson.
You are the best!
Love and friendship!
Mike
From Mihaela Grigorescu Bucharest, Romania May 29, 2008 Positive i stayed at robin's place for 4 days and i had a wonderful time!his house is full of life, friends, couchsurfers, he's a great host, and it's always nice being around him.he smiles a lot,and has a very nice way of not taking life too seriously.if you are accepted in "the house" you should feel very lucky and enjoy every moment! robin, thank you for everything!
From Brian J Zralek Nashville, United States May 29, 2008 Positive I stayed at Robin's for four nights. During that time, I enjoyed playing chess, eating some great community-type meals, and just hanging out on the balcony. Robin made it clear that I was welcome and encouraged everyone to make his home their's.
From Yun Xuan Chee Singapore, Singapore May 22, 2008 Positive Robin.... thanks for hosting me and my friends.... although we did not get to meet each other... we had a great time at ur place... thanks for everything
From MAINDUSH Chignahuapan, Mexico May 21, 2008 Positive When you surf robins place you became a member of the House. I was there for three nights I everybody in the house was cool. Robin toke us to the friday meeting in Amsterdam. Definitly Robins couch is one of the best in Amsterdam
From Florian Bogeschdorfer Son Servera, Spain May 20, 2008 Positive I truly never met a person like him before. Sharing all his belongings with all the others in his house :-) He actually IS the true spirit of couchsurfing and I learned many things in this one night. We had some good talks and nice tea. Not to forget an awful beer in the bar , hahaha!! No really Robin, I can only say: be welcome!
From SANSLESS Vienna, Austria May 20, 2008 Positive Damn. this guy can host! It was my first couchsurf and he is one reason why I really love this concept now.
From Julia Canivet Stockholm, Sweden May 18, 2008 Positive Me and my friend stayed at Robin's place during 4 days. I was really fascinated by the fact that he let us stay there even though he wasn't even home himself, talk about having trust in people - a very positive quality! My impression of Robin is very positive and I hope I'll meet him some day! (would leave "extremly positive" reference if I could but apparently I can't because we haven't met in person)
From Tim Shell Las Vegas, United States May 17, 2008 Positive Robin has a nice place with room for lots of couchsurfers. He's a really nice, casual guy, a good "host", and he makes it easy for you to be there. He helped my brief stay in Amsterdam go smoothly, and made me wish I had scheduled a few more days there.
From NAT-CHO Amsterdam, Netherlands May 16, 2008 Super high energetic and postive-attitude guy who always sees the beauty in everyone and everything plus sees the perfectness in the 'in-perfect'. He has the ability to bring people together, to make visions true and take an active part in forming this world. I am very happy to have him around and enjoy the atmosphere of his great-atmosphere-weird cooking session !
From Franchesa And Bradley Kirkpatrick Nashville, United States May 13, 2008 Positive we greatly enjoyed our time with robino. he introduced us to beach life along the coast to the north of amsterdam and to cafe life in some of the quiet neighborhoods of the city. he cooked us great meals and shared his wonderful photography with us. he is a very gracious host...
From Selma Purica Bucharest, Romania May 13, 2008 Positive i stayed at his place with a lot of other couch surfers and he was there to help me when i have had a really bad couch surfing/hospitality club experience.
Robin, although i only got to meet you for 5 minutes, i definitely hope to meet again and talk cause you seem to be a really nice person.

_______________________________________
#1 He is my fantastic host in Barcelona. Though he didn't really stay in his flat, i got a goooood dinner and after dinner chat with him, veronika, eric and emanuel. It was really a superb couchsurfing experience. They are all trustworthy mates. Thx Robin gave me a chance to meet loads of other CS members at his flat and in parties. I missed Barcelona right after I was on the bus to Bilbao...!!!
From polarfox Rhodes - Rodos, Greece Apr 29, 2008 Positive My girlfriend and me stayed for a couple of days at his place in Am*dam, April 2008
Robin was a really welcoming and freedom providing host. First thing he did was to give me a free hug, hand me the keys for his flat and a spare mobile phone for cheaper contact. Then he forced me to join the Am*dam group on CS in order to invite just anyone into his flat for a dinner party. Basically he willingly made us equal stakeholders of his flat for three days. As you can imagine, I really enjoyed him, his flat and the rest of the city. He's my number one pick as a host if I should visit again. DOUBLE THUMBS UP, a mighty FREE HUG and a BIG TRUST for "Robin the free host and his squatters" (us)... hm, that'd be a good band name, wouldn't it?!! ^^
From Ewa Rusek Padova, Italy Apr 24, 2008 Positive Robin you are really nice guy, thanks for a story about the Frog called Rogger it was fun. Thank you also for clubbing night till 5 a.m. It was a little bit hard for me and my roommate to wake up next day :)))

I hope you will contact us while you will visiting Copenhagen :)
From Hsinping Pai Bangor, United Kingdom Apr 24, 2008 Positive Robin is very kind that he picked us up at the station and had dinner with us even though he was completely exhausted. It was a lot of fun that he took us clubbing, see the red light district and the coffee shop. He helped us a lot when preparing for hitchhiking to Hamburg (he said that we're the 3rd group of his couch surfer who succeed in it, yes!) I'll be waiting for your visit in Copenhagen!
From Margaret Stepien Barcelona, Spain Apr 22, 2008 Positive OOHHH now that that trip flew by way too fast Im missing amsterdam and our favorite host Mr.rObInOOO..Definetly top 5 of the most generous people Ive encountered on this planet..totally took care that we all had a great time, showed us some very cool places, and was just great company, especially on that sunny chilled out sunday, the park etc... million thanks Robin, hope you make it to bcn.
From David Morrissey Lennon Tulla, Ireland (Republic of) Apr 21, 2008 Positive Robin was a brilliant host. He made me feel completely at home and I had a wonderful time in his company. I greatly enjoyed our chess games both on and off the board (what's that lyric from 'tangled up in blue'? "We always did feel the same way, we just saw it from a different point of view"), and was always pleased when he sang along when I was singing. You did very well in facilitating the 'right' circumstances for me. I look forward to the next time we meet and wish you the very best with everything in life. Thank you so much.
If you have the chance, try to meet Robin.

From CHAVALES Barcelona, Spain Mar 15, 2008 Positive A true leader with a great heart and a nice life experience. We had the luck to meet him in BCN while he was living here and then met him again in Amsterdam. When you have the chance to meet him, you will quickly notice that he is special. You rock! Carpe Diem, J
From Pascal Martin Bern, Switzerland Jan 14, 2008 Positive ##1
Before getting to know him, we already shared some small pieces of life and couldn't even manage to go through the "usual" stuff in 4-5 days (ok, was working all day long, but not the last one!), probably we got diverted by other small talks and not so small talks. Note to myself: postpone "usual" stuff to next time we meet + be aware time runs very fast in his company.
EnjoY!
##2
Took me some time to find out which word would be as close as I think he is. It should be "true". And to not so randomly quote someone, I care for him. (and by the way, I had to vouch for him under duress, nobody's perfect...kidding, would have done it anyway ;) )
##3
With who would you share a fantastic Easter roman catholic mass with african singing and a french speaking dutch priest ? Necessarly a special friend!
From Vegabonds Odorheiu Secuiesc, Romania Oct 12, 2007 Positive To make commentary about people sometimes it's not so easy :), but you are great. Thanks to choosing us from CS, it was a big gift to have your company for couple of days. Those days made us to completely forget about day to day problems :). You're a sensitive men opened for people and interested in discovering new cultures, and capturing that world with your camera too :). I like our reflection in the water of lake in Sovata :). From Tia and Frank O'Connor Bucharest, Romania Sep 20, 2007 Positive Robin is a very experienced, polite, intelligent and curious traveler! It's a pity we couldn't have heard more about his experiences in Istanbul and elsewhere. He was a pleasure to host and we wish him luck on his travels.

Robin is very sincere, open minded, concerned about the people, the world, the environment, with a good heart, very responsible, honest, experienced, serious and passionate about things that he likes and is concerned about, nice to talk to, with loads of travelling stories...i admired his determination and constant desire to learn and improve. From NORBS Munich, Germany Apr 20, 2007 Positive After moving at the beginning of April to my new flat in Munich, Robin came along as the first CSer!
It took long for him to arrive and I could not but give him my best welcome after what looked like a looong day on the road. But I guess my cooking was actually the real welcomer on the first night:)
Between cooking, chatting and meeting with more people, I just lacked to do one thing, to say goodbye on his departure day, but I am sure I will have another opportunity, even if it will be in the Netherlands.
Here's one true CSer and hitchhiker.
From Chris Vourlias Kigali, Rwanda Apr 18, 2007 Positive Robin single-handedly saved New Year's for a bunch of CSers in Barcelona. It's hard to fully express his generosity; he's a living example of what the CouchSurfing spirit is all about. (Even if he cracks some truly terrible jokes. Heh heh.) If you're swinging through Barna, consider yourself lucky that he's sticking around for a few more months. If not, try to cross paths with him when he begins his cross-continental sojourn. See you in Dubrovnik!
From Simon Lieberherr Bern, Switzerland Apr 12, 2007 Positive Robin must be the next Queen of Holland!
:-) It was an extraordinary honor to spend easter AND Robins birthday with him. You will rarely find such a nice and friendly young gentlemen like robin visiting your place.
thank you for the good time, robin.
From Claudy Geneva, Switzerland Apr 3, 2007 Positive I agree with all which has already been written about super friendly Robin, but on my side I was most impressed that he was able to leave Netherlands, his own country, for 3 years in Spain, an entirely different culture, and now again he is on his way to settle in Turkey. This is called an exemplary Traveller and i wished i could be the same. Carry on Robin !

From noralux Somerville, United States Jan 22, 2007 Positive Though we couldn't stay with him as long as we'd hoped, his house (packed with seven other couchsurfers) was a great place to begin the trip with. I also saw Robin on New Years with the big couchsurfers group wandering Barcelona. He's really nice and open and ready for anything!
From Jamie King Montreal, Canada Jan 18, 2007 Positive Robin hosted me for a few days in BCN and I took over his room when he moved out. Superficially Robin is a great guy, funny, friendly, kind, and helpful. Below that layer is an even better layer and you'll find that he's interesting, intelligent, and principled. What's more, he wants you to be too; I can't say how refreshing it was to be challenged, if only a little. Hopefully someday I'll get to spend more time with him and see what other parts of his personality there are to uncover.

I met dozens of people and saw so much of Barcelona that I wouldnt otherwise have known. But theres more than that, the couchsurfing motto is "changing the world, one couch at a time" and thats really what Robin is all about. Robin cant help but make sure that everyone around him is having a great time.
There is a whole lot more to couchsurfing than just finding a place to stay and its people like this that make it something special. If you come to BCN make sure you track him down and have a drink (or 17).
From Michaela Simons Graz, Austria Oct 4, 2006 Positive I already recognized the individual character of Robin when he first introduced himself somewhere in Barceloneta... Through his spontaneous hosting and his Couchsurfing-BBQ-Party I got to know wonderful people I'll always remember. I'm endlessly grateful to him.

From Susana Arostegui Barcelona, Spain Aug 1, 2006 Positive He is a great jobmate, talkative, funny, openminded, crazy, easy going, fair but above all a really good person.
