About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet CouchSurfers in the Portland, OR area

ABOUT ME

I moved to Oregon in at the end of 2009 to pursue my career in the wine industry. The Willamette Valley is an excellent place to be! I work for Trisaetum Winery in the Ribbon Ridge region. I write a wine blog called Northwest Whites, contribute to a number of other print/online publications, and participate in a number of wine-related activities. I enjoy travel of all sorts, be it local, national or global. Spontaneous trips are my favorite.

PHILOSOPHY

Striving to make my life and that of those around me as simple and clutter/drama free as possible is my ultimate goal.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to cook for everyone I meet!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First experience - Marianne from Beauvais. A replanted American in France who I coincidentally met in Madrid! We had a bite to eat and wandered the town.

Madrid, 2007: Carla & Rick on separate nights. Both were great hosts. Hope I can host them at some point.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For someone living in Ohio most of my life, getting to stand under the Eiffel Tower in Paris and stare up at it was one of the most incredible moments of my life.

Update 2007: Walking the Camino to Santiago de Compostella ranks right up there if not equal to La Tour Eiffel. What an amazing thing it was to cross Northern Spain on foot.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share:
-wine knowledge
-good books to read
-smiles, always
