Groups I Belong ToCouch Information
Couch Available: Yes Preferred Gender: Any Max Surfers Per Night: 1
Shared Sleeping Surface: No Shared Room: NoMy couch is in the living rooms. Me and my mother have our own rooms and my rabbit lives in my room. Sometimes we have a dog which stays in the living room also at night but it's only for a few weeks every year when my father goes on holidays. HOW TO REQUEST:
I will accept only request made with the CS request form and with the word STAR in the subject line. This is just to be sure that you have read my profile. Don't ask me for tomorrow or the day after tomorrow because I don't live alone and I can't tell my mother that I have guests tomorrow :) The couch is in the living room, where she does part of her work, that's the reason why she doesn't like to have people around too often but if I say YES don't worry..she doesn't bite and has been super kind with any of my previous guests :)
UPDATE
I host people to get to know them and spend time together. So from now on I will host only when I have time to show you around or if you are a fellow hiker, runner, climber. I'm sorry but I had a couch surf experience where my guest was leaving early and coming back late in the evening so that I talked more to people I met at aperitivos. Well, I'm not the one the do CS only to help someone.
HOUSE:
I live in a quiet garden suburb of Milan. The center can be reached in less than half an hour with subway. I live in a flat with my mother and a dwarf rabbit (which stays in my room). We have a computer with internet and the televison (a few channels in English should be there, we have pay-tv lol). My mother and I don't smoke. We can host smokers as long as they don't smoke in the house.
COUCH:
I have an air bed, which can be used by 1-2 people.
You can use the bathroom.
FOOD:
We cannot afford to guive you food. Surfers will have to pay for their food, I can show you where the supermarket is. You can use the kitchen to cook your food.
PETS:
I have a dwarf rabbit, which stays in my room, and a dog that comes every now and then when my father goes on holiday. Also the dog doesn't bite :)
WHEN IS BEST TO COME:
I'm a university student and I have lessons during terms at university so in that period I'm pretty busy during the weekdays but we can stay together at night. During the weekend I usually run or hike in the mountains, it depends on the weekends if I can find time for you. You can always ask! My term breaks are JAN FEB and JUN JUL and SEPT. I always have to study sigh! and give exams sigh sigh sigh! but I have more chances to have time for you ;)
I like hosting people with same interests because I spend a lot of spare time running and in the mountains so you have more chances I will say YES even if I know you can follow me!
TRASPORT:
Close to my house we have, like I said before the subway station and some buses. but I think you will use mainly the underground as it is the fastes way to get to the center. You can make a daily ticket. There is a bus terminal for buses which goes outside the city.
FACILITIES:
A shopping center, with shops and a supermarket is close to my house. I can bring you there or show you where it is.
SHOWING AROUND:
I can show people around in weekends and in the periods when I don't have lessons at university (Jan-Feb and Jun-Sept).
SUGGESTIONS:
If you want to know more about Milano try the CS wiki about Milano. Some amazing guys have written there pretty anything you may need to know about Milano. It gets to be useful for locals too....I've never claimed to know everything about anything lol!!!
RUNNING IN MILANO:
There are some parks where you can practise running
MONTAGNETTA
QT8 STOP Red line underground
It's a hilly park so it means many up and downs. You'll meet many other runners and there is a wonderful panorama from the summit. There is a 10KM route but i've never learnt it. You can always try to ask.
TRENNO PARK
It is right close to the San Siro stadium, but you can always ask me to show you around.
There is a 4KM route, you just have to look down and you'll see direction on the asphalt every km.
PARCO LAMBRO:
never been there
PARCO NORD:
never been there

Personal DescriptionMy name is Irene and I live in Milano Italy. I'm a student at the university of Milan. I study veterinary. I like reading, climbing, running and cooking. I'm vegetarian, wannabe vegan, but I don't mind if you eat meat or fish while you are using my couch, or I could cook you a nice vegetarian meal. I live with my mother and a dwarf rabbit in a flat. It has a nice living room in which my couch is located. Sometimes there are also a dog and a cat, they live with my dad but sometimes he takes them here. How I Participate in CSI offer my couch and I meet people traveling in my area. I have taken time to write everything you need to know to have a good stay at my house. I don't know many things about turistic life in Milan so if you get to know anything useful for a turist (museum passes, reduction or so on) that I don't know or have any suggestion to make about surfing at my house you can let me know and I'll add it so it'll be useful for the next surfers.
The couch is located in the living room which my mom likes to have free so I can host very few times when she's home. Usually she cannot stand more than 1 surfer at month.
PLEASE NO COPY AND PASTE REQUESTS
We are here to get to know each other and that's why I believe in "quality" and not "quantity" when surfing, also because an hostel cost 15€ not 150€. CouchSurfing ExperienceNever had couchsurfing experiences before joining CS. InterestsReading, running, climbing, creating creative stuff (decoupage, scrap art), travelingPhilosophyI like meeting new people and new cultures because I believe that is an enormous way of personal enrichmnent. Music, Movies, BooksI like every kind of fiction books, as long as the plot interest me. I'm an omnivorous :-) I read non fiction books about animals. Types of People I enjoyAnyone who is open minded and doesn't consider my house just as a free bed but is also interested in getting to know each other.Teach, Learn, ShareI can teach you how to do decopuage and other creative stuff with scrap art. As I do running and ciclying we could go running or cycling together in Milan. I can teach also Italian. I would like to practise Dutch and Spanish. Of course, I can teach Italian too, it's my mother tongue! One Amazing Thing I've Seen or DoneI've been on the top of Mount Sinai when I was having an holiday in Sharm el Sheikh and that was really a great experience. I have run the Zermatt Marathon, 1940 m disl uphill.
I have been to the highest Mountain Hut in Europe at 4500m on Mount Rosa.Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org ProjectCS is great!
