I moved to Lochem earlier this year and am looking forward to sharing this lovely town with fellow couchsurfers.
I try to attend as many CS Events in the area as I can and have started organizing events myself.
Couchsurfing is great, it gives you the chance to get to know people from all of the world and from you own country!
CouchSurfing Experience
I started hosting during the summer of '09 and thus far only had good experiences. I really like this concept!
In 2011 I moved to Lochem and don't host anymore, but then there's always the possibilities of meeting for tea & coffee!
I went to Ireland in July/August of 2010 and couchsurfed my way through Ireland. It has been the best holiday I've ever had and that is mainly due to my fabulous hosts. Couchsurfing rules!
What better way to learn about a country than by meeting the people who live there? I hope to meet some nice/interesting people and have a great time!
Interests
Languages, other cultures, food & cooking, good conversations (from normal to completely insane, as long as they're fun!), meeting people, running, reiki, meditation...
Philosophy
Enjoy whatever you do, and if that's not the case yet.. work on getting there. :)
Music, Movies, Books
hardrock, rock, pop, some classical music
not a big movie-fan, don't have the patience for it
I pretty much read anything, do have a preference for detectives and anything Swedish or Scandinavian!
Types of People I enjoy
I like people who have their own opinion, whether I agree with them or not. :) I like people who have something to tell, be it about them, their country, interests etc.
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.
Saskia organized a great day at the Achterhoekse feest in Zutphen. It was, along with Suzanne, a three person event with lots of fun and a good dose of culture and artistry. Saskia is friendly, knowledgeable and smart - we got along very well. We plan to further promote CS in Eastern Netherlands!

Positive
Met Saskia at CS meeting in Deventer after which we arranged to meet again for a "city tour" of Lochem and surroundings and some Dutch lesson. The walk was great, thank you for the nice welcome and hope next time we’ll talk more in Dutch, although it was so nice to talk all over and about in English! ;) Tot ziens!
I sent a request at very late notice to three people in Groningen and they all said yes within 24 hours! Saskia was one of them and provided a warm welcome, a cosy bedroom, and I was allowed to lie in while she started work at 7.30. Thanx Saskia!
Saskia is a very friendly and nice girl. I stayed at her place in Groningen for two nights and it was really good. We sat up and drinked tea and talked the whole evnings until she had to go to bed. We also went one night to the fantastic "pancake ship" and eat some really great stuff. Highly recomended CS'er!
Saskia brought me to an incredible-spontaneous little trip through southern Ireland as we were there at the same time. Great CS-spirit and always-smiling way of behaving which are really appreciable.

Saskia was so understanding when I was a little off form after a busy time hosting. She is capable, friendly and organised ;-)
It was lovely chatting to her and I learnt a few tips about surfing too. I'm glad u enjoyed ur stay!
Even though she is a morningperson and i'm more like a nightperson i had the feeling we had many things in common. We had a nice meal and chat together on the hottest day of the year. If you're in Rotterdam you'll have a place to stay!!
I spent three nights at Saskia's place. She is a very lovely and bright person that made me feel very comfortable during my stay. I enjoyed our interesting conversations very much! I hope I'll meet her again and I'm grateful for all her help and encouragement.
Saskia has the gift of hospitality and she's a great cook too! She's thoughtful, generous, caring and a lot of fun to be with. We had a blast watching Holland beat Uruguay in the semi-finals World Cup. Saskia is a wonderful person to get to know.
