We had a really nice time hosting Tom. He was outgoing and very friendly and we had colorful conversation during the short time that he was with us. Hopefully we will someday get to the Ikea in Bohn to see him. :) And he will get back to Israel some day!

One of the most patient and selfless friends I have ... even keeping silent feels good next to him - once you've silenced him ;)

Despite only meeting Tom during his short transit in Atlanta, I learned quite a bit about him, Bonn (Germany) and his passion for CS. I hope to cross path again with his in the future, and you won't disappoint to take the opportunity to host/stay/meet up with him.

Tom hosted me in Bonn when I was visiting the area and the Cologne Christmas Market Crawl 2009. Though I had to make the effort to convince him in some really fun email conversations that Austrian are not schluchtenscheixxer - I got the couch in the end :) And though he was busy he showed me around his charming city, made me really feel at home in his nice, cosy flat and comfy huge couch and even organized a little Glühwein/Caipirinha-Crawl in Bonn as well. He definitely deserves being a CS Amb and I am happy that there ARE ones like him!

Tom, thank you! Meeting you is counted certainly among my best Surfing experiences and I think we were really building a new bridge between Germany and Austria, naaaahhh?

It was very nice to meet Tom in my first CS gathering. I had a great time yesterday, thanks for the invitation!

 

Tom is one of the few CSers that got hosted by the same great guy in Rotterdam at the Sinterklaas Weekend! That gave us the chance to walk through the city, chat and party together, wich was great! I'm sure we'll meet again!

Tom kept me on my toes from the time we met- meaning I fell for almost every joke, and was teased at every possible moment. I loved every second of it! He is so very funny, and terribly smart. Thanks for staying with me for this years Sinterklaas 2009- our "group" was the best.

Tom is fantastic. He opened his home and mind to myself and two friends, allowing us our first couchsurfing experience. His home is clean, safe and comfortable, and he is warm, friendly, an excellent conversationalist and a worldly traveller.

I surfed Tom's couch. That's how we met each other. Yes, since my friend Ana got sick i went to Bonn by myself. And it was really nice of Tom to spend so much time with me, to show me Bonn and just to talk in a bar with a bottle of Kölsch, to take me to his friend's place and have fun all together in the club. The entire stay I felt like i was at home and knew Tom for ages. I wish him good luck in learning Spanish and hope to meet him in Moscow one day.

Tom hosted me for 3 nights in Bonn, we went out for drinks and dinner, watched a movie, cooked together, had breakfast and very good talks. He is very keen on CS and a wonderful host. Tom took very good care of me, showed me around, calmed me down before my interview and went out with me afterward.

I agree with Tom that is difficult to write down a good reference. I surfed his couch for three days and I had the oportunity to meet a positive person, generous with his hosts,openminded, trustworthy, affectionate... He tries to do his best so you feel at home. It's worth to know Tom.

Tom hosted me for two nights. Although he had a very exhausting training he showed me some sightseeing spots in Bonn and we met other CS members for a beer. Thank you very much. You are most welcome to surf my couch - as soon as I can offer one ;)

I apologise because Tom deserves a reference right back atcha, if not before.

What I liked about him most is that he was quiet. Calm. Gentle. Those are qualities I sorely lack on account of my immaturity. Moreso, we others monopolised all conversations and he just waited: quiet, calm, gentle.

And then he spoke! I am truly disappointed that we spent so little time together that I could not tap further into his mind. He spoke about CS politics, life, hamburgers: all of it more interesting that my life can reference.

Most importantly, while I left him alone with Erik with the keys to my house, when I returned, nothing was sold. And my cat wasn't on fire. (Thank you for that!) However, before I even left the city, Tom had earned his trust just by being himself.

This is the beauty of the CouchSurfing Project that once was: welcome a stranger into your house, hand over the keys, come back to see the dishes have been done....

Tom and his pal Erik stopped in for one night on their way up to Whitehorse. They were actually my first official couchsurfers and I had a great time hanging out with them. Tom is a respectful guest and really easy to get along with. He's also a funny fellow and my friends only had glowing things to say about meeting him. He seems like a person that you could have a good conversation with one minute and get into some mad crazy fun with the next.

Besides, anyone who comes bearing beer and balsamic vinegar and can make the best of a lame Sunday night in a small northern town is a gem in my books :)

 

Tom was tons of fun, was always up for a drink and enjoyed everywhere we went. I'm sure some day I'll run in to him again.

It was great hosting Tom. He is very easy going, and a respectful guest. Next time I hope to spend more time hanging out and exploring together. I guess you just5 have to return to Canada!

Tom is a very friendly person. I met him through Patrick when both of them came for Vienna Calling. Loved seeing the sights with him! We shall meet again for sure! ^.^

 

Tom was great to host. He and his friend Erik were very open-minded and fun to be around. He stayed with us for a night and stopped again for two more nights on his way back to explore the city a little more and hang with us. Him and Erik arrived with our favourite beer in hand fresh from the brewery! We had a blast chatting, showing them around and laughing at Tom's German-ness of having his breakfast on an open-faced sandwich. Host Tom, he's truly a wonderful person to get to know and hang out with... all around good dude in our books.

 

I had a lot of fun hosting Tom. He has a great sense of humor, is very poliet and can bust a move on the dance floor :)

Tom and his friend Eric stayed a night at Dean and Vicki's place in t-bay on their route from the Yukon to Montreal. I went out for some drinks with them and shared some good conversation. See you on the return!

Tom and I first met at a couchsurfing party at Cafe Gotlich and later at Katherine's (a CS too)birthday party. I had heard about him quite a lot as a nice guy but this was confirmed within the few minutes that we spent chatting while at the party - it was as if we knew each other from before. He is open minded and pretty relaxed.

 

He showed me around the city before going on a nice Bonn Beer Tour where we had lots of interesting conversations! He even taught me some Dutch later on that day before Joline arrived ;) Really, Tom was lots of fun; too bad that he had to work all the time! We could have had a lot more beers and taken a lot more awesome pictures! Have fun in Canada and hope to see you!
UPDATE: We were able to meet again for what turned out to be a great night of drinking, this time in Montreal... Great times! Until, we meet again Vittu ;)

Bonn is such a pretty city, Tom lives right in the centre. I only stayed for 2 nights but arrived too late to socialise on my 1st. Tom has a great sense of humour and is definitely an excellent drinking partner even if he has to get up early for work. And he couch is the most comfortable I’ve surfed.

 

We had a very short but very good time together in Bonn! My bestfriend and I were supposed to surf a couch in Köln but this couch was not available anymore so Tom "saved" our trip in Bonn! Thanks again! I really think Tom is a nice guy, he hosted us, showed us around Bonn and came along for a drink in this beautiful city. His couch is even more comfortable than my own bed!

Ask Tom and you'll definitely have a very good time with a clever and trustworthy person, sleep very well in the centre and get a good glimpse of the city.

Tom is definitely a good guy , really involved into the CS world and he made us a great tour of his nice city, like a professional or even better ! We had a nice talk and a beer ! Thanks for everything ! See U somewhere in Europe or elsewhere ;)

Tom from Bonn was my first CS Host and I still think he is the prototypical couch surfer. He is openminded, funny, friendly and was roaming through Bonn in the evenings. He told and showed us some interesting things (or do you know what a Bönnsch is?) and explained some of the exotic german customs to us Austrians. I hope I meet him somewhere again, where we have more time to talk than at Vienna Calling!

i had a lot of interesting conversation with tom, before we got out of our tent and after we got in our tent, he´s a good dialogue partner, you´ll get along with him very easy. he´s a friendly, nice and likable person, you´ll have a good time with him, either partying or gathering, he´s great company! ;)

Tom took me in when I turned up at his house randomly in the middle of the night like some sweaty, muddle headed stray. Well maybe not 'like' one but more actually one. Although its kinda just goes with the couchsurfing spirit I'm still mighty impressed when someone can meet you for the first time that night and make you feel at home and relaxed without being the slightest bit put out, which is what Tom did. Although I didnt get to enjoy the pleasure of it he does have a pretty damn nice couch too ;)

Wow what a privilege that I had the chance to meet this famous man - known by radio and TV!! :) haha
No seriously we had louds of fun at the Berlin Beach Camp, watching the Cultures of Karneval together and spending a night at the fire with heaps of laughter - and without sleep!(greetings to Toni)

Tom was doing the same alternative tour i did one day in Berlin. Such a wonderful trip through urban places with grafitti and murals everywhere .. nice!

To receive Tom as a couchsurnig for me was quite funny. I dindt know what to do, what to show... but at the end he news more tham me and I learnt with him. I am sure that I had a good start in couchsurfing, because I had an amazing time with Tom in Stuttgart. I hope next time we can enjoy a little bit the sun!!! ;)

Tom was a terrific guide and host through the beautiful city of Bonn. He showed my friend and I the best places and answered any question we came up with. Even though we were busy and didn't stay long, we had a great and comfortable time with him. He knew of loads of parties and events. He is a terrific ambassador for couch surfing. What a dude.

This guy was kind enough to provide us with shelter, after our former host was no longer able to accomodate us, due to his job. He already had a surfer, which was unavoidable because of the last-minute deal, but in this case it was: the more, the merrier!
Good company and we've learned some stuff about Bonn.

When I Surferd withe my friends in Tom´s house was soo good. Everything was good. Tom is a good and fun guy. His couch is perfect.

Tom hosted me for two nights while I was house hunting in Bonn. He was very helpful with that and also showed me that Bonn isn't as boring as I had thought. :) that was great, thanks a lot, see you soon!

Tom is a great guy that "saved" me and my friends in Germany with his huge couch. He's a great person, very humorous and easy going. He showed us the town and we had a great time together. Hopefully we'll dance samba in Brazil someday. hahaha

Tom has a really cool apartment in the old part of the city in Bonn. He was a fantastic host who took time to chat to us and tell us cool things about Bonn (such as some history of the city, where good restaurants are and showing us some of the really interesting buildings in town). I was on a really busy schedule because of the conference, and I wish I had had more time to spend with him!

Great! I had so much fun with Tom in Bonn and I really enjoyed that Weekend! His flat is amazing and the couch even better ;-) Dinner and Breakfast served, which was awesome! met some other people and we had a funny night! Very nice person, if I would move to Bonn I would marry him ;-)

The nice thing with couchsurfing is that you never know what to expect. Tom and Bonn just enlightened my weekend. Totally friendly and relaxed, hooking up with several other couchsurfers, having diner and breakfirst together, nice big couch and a party with wonderful people that make you want to become a dancer ("are we human? or are we dancers?"). Boy, I had a good time with Tom!

Tom's my neighbor and has helped me out with a couch to crash on when I had visitors staying at my place. I've come to know him as a very nice, generous, helpful and easy-to-get-along-with guy. Good to have him in my hood :D. Oh... huge comfy couch btw! :)

 

Tom is so accommodating and saved my trip to Bonn by opening his home at the last minute when my original overnight plans tanked the day before arriving in the city. Within minutes of coming inside, I was meeting his friends he had over for dinner, got warmed up with tea he offered, and all of us hit it off well - what a testament to how flexible Tom is with people. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a lot of surfing requests when the warm weather comes.

 

Tom is an example of what I call a good guy; and we share the same firstname. Was nice to meet him personaly at the WBP.

It was a short but nice trip. He was also nice, altough not that short :)

It was a pleasure to host Tom and Maike in Budapest, they are very respectful, polite but not boring, opened and spontaneous people. They were both interested in visiting a city i would never recommend to a tourist, they tried some local heavy food and Tom was breave enough to jump into the middle of our traditional cousine. Next time i visit Köln, it would be very nice to have a beer in Bonn as well!

 

We really enjoyed having Tom and Maike over at our place. They are very relaxed, easygoing, interesting and funny.
So no wonder i tried to spend a lot of time with them. By the way, i doublechecked with Agi and IT people are definitely more sexy than lawyers. See you in Bonn, Budapest or Ghent

Too bad I only spoke to Tom for few minutes during speed dating - Rotterdam. We should have danced the Salsa (or was it Tango???) to get the free drinks.

For the few hours we spend together, it was great. We took pictures in the centre of Rotterdam as part of the picture quest. We had smelly hands afterwards. Shame I could not stay for dinner and party (but I ate nice pancakes!)

Tom is the host i`d always like to have in all my travellings :) He`s so nice that he`d prepare me a tea and gave me pills when i most nedded them and we did a little visiting together...
Hopefully one day he will come to Bucharest and i can do the same for him :)

Tom was perfect. It's the kind of person so nice, that you could stay at his place also with your mom. :) Simply great! The only thing I didn't like is that we didn't spend more time together...

Tom was very nice when he suggested to host me, and came all the way from Bonn to Cologne in order to meet me.

Tom is an absolutely perfect host! He taught me quite a bit about Germany and was so patient while I practiced some German! I enjoyed spending time with him so much that I made it a rule that "Wherever Tom goes, I go too."

Sorry for late response! The future is now ;-) Tom is quite a cool guy, sympathetic and friendly. It makes fun to talk with him about a lot of things. Has been really a pleasure to meet him. Next time we'll have a look at the movies, thanks again!

Tom's couch was the first one I surfed within the CS project and I can only say it was a great experience. What can I say here that hasn't been said before by any of his other friends? He is lovely and helpful and I spent a very nice weekend with him. He showed me the city around, we party together :) and, as I'm moving to Bonn, he also gave me a few good tips and valuable information about the city. I hope will meet up again soon!

UPDATE (November 08): He drove me and two other CSs to Berlin and had a snowy but funny round trip.

Tom is fun, extremely trustworthy, has a positive attitude, and is certainly a good person to relax or party with!

Tom led a rowdy, rainy, bar crawl for the newbie foreigners moving to Bonn. I was the only one...which was great because I met some really great Bonn folks that night. Can't wait for the next bar crawl when the next wave of newbies arrives!

 

I was really lucky to have this awesome guy as my first CS host. If we don't count that foosball match against Morgane and Max (man, we really sucked :P), everything was just great. I'd say it was educational as well: even with a journalist chasing after Tom, I got my guided tour around the center (AND we learned that quarter (after?) eight actually means half past seven ;)).

When I introduced myself to Tom at Birgit's Main Party, he just answered, "Paul..I know you! I saw you on VOX!" and so he reminded me of that stupid interview i made in 2007!! I met Tom in Vienna, so how much better can it get? We had fun and cool talks, walked all over town together and I'm going to be on a mission now: either go to Bonn or get him to come to Bruges, so we can talk some more!

Tom accepted me to surf at his couch in the last minute. it was very nice spending time with him, not enough though.

My impression is that Tom is a polite person, he has a really nice flat in the center of Bonn and he was very nice with me. In the afternoon he showed me the city of Bonn ( wich one is really nice) and then I went with him to a party where I met nice people. I can only leave really good references from Tom, he is the perfect hostess, and he has a so comfortable and big couch!!

Tom and his friend were really laid back guys, easy to chat and share some positive vibrations with. unfortunately, i had to leave second night they stayed in my place but even after meeting for such a short term there is no doubt that they have true CouchSurfing spirit.

We met in Helsinki, unfortunately only briefly because of our schedules. Tom seemed friendly and fun to talk with, he was open-minded and social. Would have been nice to spend more time with him but maybe some other time..:)

Although he is German.. whehe kidding. Hmz, although Germany lost the European soccer final and he almost was in tears.. nehh.. Although we almost were attacked because he was German.. No, lets start nice. Tom is great to hang around with, I met him in Helsinki, travelled with him to Tallinn, and we went to see the soccer final in a pub. So if ya wanna have some fun in Germany (it is possible haha) just message him!

tom and two of his friends were first couchsurfers for me to host. tom is genuine, great guy with a good sense of humour. and for what comes to the accidents that happened while i was at work, i needed the re-decorating anyway. ;) the only negative side of the stay was that they stayed for way too short time!

I hosted Tom and two his friends for a night. These boys were nice and very easy to talk with. We had a great time altough it rained almost all the time. Thanks for that half bottle of vodka you forgot to my freezer. ;)

 

Nice to know someone who met other visitors that passed by my place. nice to hear about them in a nice way. It was fun to spend mid summer with him. He even could handle me and the screaming girls.

Big heart. Full of interesting stories. Always taking others into consideration. Patient. Stayed at my place for one night. I found European chanpionship turnament interesting. I have never watched hole match before. Pitty that I didn´t lot of time. Next time Tom!

We had some nice time together during the midsummer party in Finnland :) It was funny to discover that we come from the same city (Bonn). It was nice to talk and have a good laugh with Tom - hope to meet him again in Bonn ;)

 

Tom is such a nice guy and also has a good sense of humor! We met at a midsummer nights party for CSers at a friends cottage and he was funny and intelligent to talk with. He even laughed with us when we made fun of him! (just a little fun :) I think he is one of those people who really make couchsurfing work.

Tom suddenly showed up when I was dancing Lindy hop, with some friends and and a beer in his hand. We had a really nice evening! Tom is a very relaxed, positive person who's easy to talk to. And he's very dedicated to the couch surfing project, I sure was inspired!

 

We met in Lapland while enjoying a midsummer party with some other CS'ers and quite a many mosquitos. I definitely like Tom's sense of humour and liked very much hanging around, chatting and partying with him!

update: He hosted me in Bonn for several days and I enjoyed it to the full! He's a very thoughtful host, there's always something interesting going on and there's always a chance to have a nice conversation with him. What I really like and appreciate about him is that he doesn't take himself too seriously and doesn't mind being laughed at! ;)

 

Very nice guy and a real cser. He and Christoph stayed at my place for some days. I liked Tomas' bad humour :P and his expressive face. It was great to share CS-experience with him, and when it comes to ice-cream eating he is almost my equal...

Tom and his friend came for dinner at my place! They were both very sweet people and we had a good time talking and laughing - although we never got to go out afterwards! Wish you good travels on your way up North!

I met Thomas at a party my first night in Bonn. We have spent alot of evening going for drinks watching films and just hanging out. Thomas has turned into a really good friend since I have moved to Bonn. Thomas is a really great guy to hang out with and is always willing to help someone in need.

so we first met through our common friend sinterklaas in rotterdam november 2007 and shared some fun times there, then met again at berlin's beach camp where we got the chance to talk and party more and it was excellent as usual!

tom is wonderfully relaxed but at the same time full of energy, always up for a nice chat or a good laugh and just a great person to hang out with. a pity that he is so bad with drinking games though ;o)

he surfed with us for my birthday and i surfed with him for a too short stopover in bonn so i can now confirm all these references which say that he is a great guest and host - absolutely true!

**sinterklaas 08 update** thank you for giving us three girls a ride and being such a patient driver although we were such horrible passengers ;o)

Fiuh! ;-) How lucky I was that Tom trusted me and let me surf his couch even though I had't been able to fill my profile yet. He has been my first host, and I couldn't have had any better experience of first couchsurfing than this!! No one should ever doubt to host him or surf with him. He is an extremly friendly, humourous, sensitive and honest person, which are some key qualities for couchsurfing I think, aren't they? Really enjoyed sharing stories and experiences with you and I also hope and believe that we will definately meet again! Update: well, of course, we did! :-D So by now there is hardly anything we don't tell each other (talkative and curious as we both are ;-)) and I can only stress it once more: it's almost impossible to not trust him.

I met Thomas briefly at the CS Cologne, but had more time to talk to him at the Berlin Beach Camp 2008. He's kind, funny and has a very infectious smile. I hope we will see more of us in the future and I can check out his "Super/Uber Couch".

 

Really had a good time, but cannot say much about him, since... the talks didnt' tlead me to the person he is. Anyway, think he'll be a great host/guest and we'll for sure meet again

 

I met Tome first time in MSN Chat, when he was new as cityambassador. Finally he made the way to the Berlin Beach Camp 2008 where we spend some time at workshops and also for some private chats. He is great guy, is cs addicted like me and im sure we will met asap at another meeting/camp! Lets stay in contact!

 

He is one of the most active CS in Bonn... he goes to meetings, organizes them, organizes this, and that, and that too, and a little bit of that.... maybe I will couch surf with him (even though I live 20 min away from his city)... and have some beers....

In summary... HE ROCKS AS A CS... When I grow up, I wnat to be a CS like him!

 

Alhough I didn't have much time to talk to Tom at the beach camp berlin, a little of him showed me a lot : Very sympathetic, with a smile always ready, funny with a mischievous look and a witty comment, In general a great guy. I really hope to meet you again in Bonn/Köln area!

Tom is a really nice guy. He is reliable and very well organized.You can have a lot of fun with him as he is always up for a party;)

Even though we met before at different CS gatherings, i had the joy of experiencing thomas hallarious humour at the wine tasting...and i do not put this down to the wine we had...thanks for a good laugh, u r a sunshine!UPDATE: Due to this more meetings were arranged and i can confirm that tom is a pleasant, very entertaining guy not to miss, among many things ask him out to dance...i love it!

 

I visited Tom at his home in Bonn and from the very first moment felt very welcomed by him. It seams that Tom is the very center of the CS life in Bonn. Looking forward to running a marathon or at least a half-marathon together one day.

I first met Tom at a CS pub crawl in Bonn and he was really friendly and fun. We talked about CS and he tried to answer all my newbie-questions as detailed as possible. I'm looking forward to upcoming CS events to get to know him better. =)

 

Tom has been in a pyjama party at my place, we had fun and drinks together!

Tom is a very easy going person with a great sense of homour. Firt I only knew him from our local group. Now, after having a drink together and a lot of popcorn in cinema, we had the chance to meet personally. Hope I can join the group activities a litte more in the future. ;-)

 

He's got a SuperCouch almost large enough for 3 people, he's got a SuperToaster to toast SuperBread (and he is SuperNotGay). And I SuperLike him ! Great experience, great flat, great smile, what can I say more ?

 

You have to come to Tom's place to see the "Super Couch", the "Uber Couch" the biggest couch in all of Germany. An entire football team could sleep on it comfortably. Only a 10-minute walk from the train station, Tom's place is cool, like something on the cover of a designer magazine. Tom was also a lot of fun to hang around with, great to talk to, and very patient with all of our jokes :) If you're in the Bonn/Colonge area, def. try to meet him.

 

Tom is a wonderful host and his place is great. "Er hat ein suppa-couch". We met online in some ambassadors groups and he is a good representive to his local community and seems to be very acceptate. I think he does a good job. Thank you for the great hosting and see you soon in Berlin. We will stay in touch for sure!
Update Jan 09: I consider Tom as a friend. I meet him occasionally as he visits Berlin from time to time. He just surfed my place for the first time.

Tom ist one of the most loveable persons I know.
He is a very charming, good-hearted and friendly person, who takes a genuine interest in others. Moreover he is an easy-going and funny person who is absolute uncomplicated. Therefore you can have a lot of fun with him, his humor ist brilliant, you will see.
So, if you ever visit Bonn and want to have an unforgettable time there, you should desperately meet him.

I met Tom at the Carnaval in Cologne and i had a great time dancing and talking with him :) i hope to see you again too :)

I hosted Tom for 1 night and we talked until midnight and had a great time cooking dinner. It was a pleasure to have him as a guest. Sorry you had to sleep in the cold... :-/ I try to improve that. ;-)

I met Thomas during the Wine testing meeting in Ahrweiler near Bonn and for the Sinterklaas in Rotterdam. He likes to make parties, friends of him told me he's mad to take pictures, but at this evening, he doesn't have any camera, unfortunately. He is a Toten Hosen fan like me and we enjoy to sing together some songs of them in the train Bonn-Köln, it was a great moment ! I hope to see you again Thomas, and why not, during a Toten Hosen Concert !

Tom is a friendly and welcoming guy. He hosted my friend Jez and I when we visited Bonn and even went to the trouble of organising a meeting in the pub of local couchsurfers from Bonn so we could meet lots of people during our stay.

We met in Rotterdam and after that he hosted me for a weekend.
Tom is someone who makes you feel at ease and you can have a lot of fun with him.

I met Tom in London at the new years eve party 2007. We drank couples of good glass austrian apricot schnaps and he feels it is getting warm and warmer! Maybe I see this guy again, to taste more Austrian Schnaps!

Tom is a really talkative boy, who loves laughing! I traveled with him to London on New Years Eve and it was quite fun.
Although, he has signed up for less a year, he is a really active cs'ler and couchsurfing is always on his mind ;-)

We meet at CS Meeting on New Years Eve in London. I enjoyed the time we spend together there. He is absolutly a nice guy.

Tom is a mine of information on German history and Bonn! He is very friendly and kind. It was great meeting him.

 

Tom & his friend Laura were my guests over New Year 2007-8. They were very easy to host as they already knew London pretty well & had other contacts through CS and anyone who doesn't want to get up early while I'm on school holidays is always welcome anyway! It was great to see in the New Year in their company at the Stockwell CS party & later to wander around Notting Hill in search of that door! Tom is now officially a TV star for CS in Germany - hope to see the clip one day!!!

I had a really nice talk with Tom, who was trying his hardest to explain to me things about Bonn and German history. He's a really warm person with a good heart, I can tell! Now I want to discover Bonn!!

After almost one year since X-Mas market in Cologne we met again - Tom was my perfect guest during Sinterklaas. Finally we had time to spend more time together and talk more than just Harry Potter gathering in 2012:) In two words he's just a "good karma" :) Nice, polite, intelligent, funny and above that - great dancer!:) I can recommend him ti everybody!

he has made me feel welcome to CS. we have had great fun.

tom is allways helpful, if something is to do. and he is able to get up early in the morning after celebrating all the night. thanks for the compliments about my philosophy knowledge, it would be great some of my profs would think the same :)

 

Tom is such a nice person, really felt at ease with him. I just love his humor and we laughed so much. AND I like his Nintendo wii by the way (hooked on boxing, got to have one or should I just return to play more? and watch all his films?). When we arrived in Cologne for the X-mas market on Friday we heard there was an issue with a CS TV report as the original CS-er broke her leg, so they needed a surrogate.
Instead of picking up the key for Katriin's house, we stayed 2 nights at his couch and participated in this report on CS. Tom and I will be famous for being bad B-actors;)
Thanks for all the fun infront and out of side of the camera in your house in uhhhmm should I say Cologne here?;) Will definetly be back to surf your comfy couch again as Bonn rocks and it will rock even more with you as an CS ambassodor. Love to see you back there, here or anywhere.
Update: we keep in contact and it was great meeting Tom in Vienna. He is so funny and its nice to get to know him better.

He had a huge couch and a nintendo wii, which was nice, but most impotant is that he is just a great person and host! We planed to stay with Katrin but ended up sleeping 2 nights on his couch, with a camera-team following him and Rossi the whole day. I'm really thankfull that we could stay with him, that made my X-mas market crawl weekend even better! I’m sure he’ll do a great job as an ambasador.

I met Tom for the first time at the Rotterdam Sinterklaas meeting where we had some briefly talks which was fun. I got to know him somewhat better during the Cologne's Xmas-Market Crawl 2007 after ranging his phone thinking this was Ulf's number. He hosted my travel mates for this trip as well and all I heard were positive impressions.

I got to know him on a CS Meeting in Cologne and he seems to be a easy going and friendly guy !

 

Tom is a very nice guy and we had soem nice talks, but not nearly as many as I would have liked to (damn big meetings ;) )

Tom and his friends stayed at my house for the Sinterklaas party 2007 and came back in 2009 to do it all over again.

Tom is a bundle of fun! I think he makes a very good ambasador for his city. He has fantastic fascial expressions... so, what's not to like? Hopefully we'll do some chillin' in Köln.

I know Tom for more than 15 years. We met at the bouy scouts, where we both had some youth leadership positions. Tom is very enthousiastic about CouchSurfing and introduced me to it today. He is a funny and easy-going person. If you ever visit Bonn or the Rhineland in general, plan to surf his HUGE couch. You will definitely enjoy it. Seriously.

Tom hosted me for Halloween when I was looking for a room in Bonn. We went to the Halloween Party and had fun. Tom is a nice and friendly guy, very easy-going; if you have the chance to surf his couch, do it.

thomas and me met in bamberg as he asked me to show him my city which i really enjoyed. we talked a lot and shared memories of his home-city bonn i lived in for some year.it was a very nice and pleasant evening.i really enjoyed exchanging all those stories.;-)

Tips on how to get along with Tom ;-D:
Get on his nerves and you'll be excused if you make a joke.. He gets on your nerves - you have to tell him he did because otherwise he is likely not to notice that.. ;-)
After now having traveled with Tom a bit I've noticed that this is a person you should ask if you want to go out and party all night long for several days in a row. He seems to have endless energy. But this does not only count for partying but everything else as well - like hosting or getting more involved in CS. And his interested in how the CS community works seems to be growing all the time!

It was loads of fun spending a messy party weekend with Tom in Hamburg and we had some good laughs together! Besides, he is a real gentleman and even helped us ladies in the kitchen. Tom, you are welcome back any time since nobody has ever dried my dishes as spic and span as you did! =)

Thomas hosted me while I was at a conference in Bonn and I very much appreciate his help. He has a very kind, forthcoming and easygoing personality. Since I had quite a full program at the conference, we could not spend a lot of time together, but we walked around Bonn about one hour and a half and talked about our lives and this and that which was also very interesting.

And, he is right, his couch is indeed quite large!!! No problem for two or three people to sleep on it.

Tom is funny and kind and took excellent care of my friends. I really enjoy spending time with him! (and he's a great companion for watching soccer games--even if neither of us knows who's playing beforehand!:P)

 

Thomas is a very nice guy who is also the perfect guide for Bonn. You can impress him by not wondering, why beer is served in tiny glasses. Just clink the glasses on the bottom, and wait for the next one, which the waiter will bring you automatically.
The couch is huge! The flat is perfectly situated in the part with the bars, and when its raining, you can do some boxing with Wii! :-)
We had a great time together. Thomas is a CSer with all his heart. We really hope to see him soon and to show him the Austrian mountains.

Tom hosted me for 3 weeks while I was in Bonn for job training. He a super nice, generous guy who will make anyone feel welcome. He also has the worlds comfiest couch!

I met Thomas at a small CS gathering that my friend Heidi organised in Bonn. He is a very open and easy to talk to person, funny and enjoyable. I had a very good impression of him, considering the short time that we met.

for me tom's one of those people you don't see for months but then - meeting again - everything's different & everything's the same telling stories, drinking beer, having fun.... firndship...

Thomas made sure that I had a tour of the city and that I was well taken care of before I left for school. He also made sure that I had a phone to use while i was here. I couldn't have had a better experience for my 1st time surfing

It was my first CS experience and I´ll do it again for sure! For Thomas, I´ll be glad to come back in Bonn at his place. First, he has the biggest couch I ve ever seen and a huge bathroom... Seriously, he was very nice, welcoming, smiling... In short, a perfect host!

I had a great time hanging out with Thomas and his friends during their stay. We met up for dinner and drinks several times, wandered and joked around, and they were happy and up for just about anything. I look forward to staying in touch and seeing him again anytime in Germany or NYC.

Thomas and Tri stayed with me for 2 nights. Unfortunately I had to work, so I couldn't spend much time with them. They were great house guests! Very tidy and polite. Thomas helped me walk my dogs.

Tom is a great host, with a very nice apartment and extremely comfortable couch. It was very fun being able to stay with him, and hang out with Tom and his friends.
