Groups I Belong ToCouch Information
Couch Available: Yes Preferred Gender: Any Max Surfers Per Night: 3
Shared Sleeping Surface: Depends Shared Room: DependsYou can sleep on the couch itself, the couch cushions on the floor, the floor, the air mattress...and best of all, the couch even magically turns into a pull-out double bed. WOW! The couch is in the living room. I suppose if you wanted to make it a private area you could string up a curtain. Bring your own curtain rods, please.
Ozzie also sleeps in the living room area, but he lives in a cage. Don't put your fingers near his mouth because he might bite them off (Ozzie is a bearded dragon with a grudge against humanity). I live in Burbank, in the foothills of the Verdugo Mountains. Finally I have a roommate who appreciates the idea of couchsurfing! As stated above, you can sleep wherever you want in the living room; most people prefer the sofa bed or air mattress. We have plenty of blankets and some pillows. I'm sure you can smoke somewhere outside the complex.
Burbank is the "media capital of the world", home to Warner Brothers, NBC, Disney, and other studios. The downtown area has some nice shops and restaurants. Other than that, beautiful mountains are practically at the doorstep...and of course there is no shortage of things to do in the LA area! In all honesty it's probably best if you have a car, but there is public transportation if you seek it out. If I'm free I would love to show you around, drop you at a bus stop/metro station, etc...
Approximate distance from here to:

Personal DescriptionI take life as it comes.
A lot of my spare time is spent outdoors, camping/cycling/canoeing/whatever....I also love a good book and have been known to drink an abundance of green tea. My roommate Anne is one of my best friends, and we're not hardcore partiers/stay-out-till-6 am-ers. In fact, we're total old farts and are usually in bed around midnight. I like sleep. Roommate likes dry wine, I like margaritas, and we both like hummus and pita chips from the Burbank farmers' market. If you are into outdoor activities, fun, witty sarcasm, and games (notably Settlers of Catan, Bananagrams, or Time's Up) then we will get along splendidly.
I have a huge list of goals to accomplish in my life, like flying a helicopter, making a really good omelette, and buying a homeless man coffee. Oh, and visiting all 50 states (one to go!) Any help is appreciated.
In the past few years, I have been employed as a peace facilitator, camp director, nanny, assistant with the Saudi royal family, tour director, office assistant, outdoor education instructor, hobo, traveler, self...

From THEBEACHGIRLS Sun Valley, United States Oct 5 Positive Beth and her roommate are perfect hosts! We were able to come and go. Anne became our cousin! Beth made us french toast! We taught them to play Darnit! We share a love for Ikea and Friends.
Say hi to Ozzy on a daily basis for us, just don't let him bite you.
You 2 have a place to surf anytime you're in Reno!
From Peter Nagel II Waterloo, United States Aug 13 Positive Beth has been to all 50 states and is pretty much a professional world traveler/hobo, so she's definitely your go-to source for interculture communication and sightseeing tips. She has had many fascinating jobs, is always seeking an adventure, and she is a wealth of generally useless trivia. If I had my choice of traveling with any of my friends, it would be Beth. She also has a very warm personality, kind of like a pie right out of the oven. If she was ever in one place for more than 12 days, I'm sure she would make an excellent host as well.
From Rich Bakken San Diego, United States Sep 29, 2008 Positive Beth is a great friend, and a fellow travel enthusiast! Onward!
From Paul Lockwood Columbia, United States Sep 22, 2008 Positive She is the Cousin of my Girlfriend.
From Sarah Waybright Philadelphia, United States Aug 21, 2008 Positive Beth is awesome! In the few hours we spent, we watched Team USA women's volleyball win gold, had a huge breakfast, which Beth finished (people who clean their plates are good people by me!), and she gave me advice about traveling - amazing! Would love to hang out with her again! :)
From Nikki Carow Wuxi, China May 11, 2008 Positive Where do I start with this one?! Beth is incredible - loves people, loves sharing experiences, loves learning about the world. Beth has a huge heart and is willing to go the extra mile for others. I'm positive that any adventure you have with her is one that you won't be forgetting anytime soon!
From Leah Bauer Heidelberg, Germany Mar 12, 2008 Positive Beth is a really fun, adventurous, down-to-earth but up-for-anything girl. I'm always amazed when I hear of her next escapade. It seems she's always on the go, and she definitely has a true CS spirit. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to host her or stay with her, and if you have a chance to meet up with her, don't pass it up! Hope to see you in Germany soon!
From Melissa Kramer Denver, United States Feb 19, 2008 Positive Great Company!! Loves to play fun games and always has a good story to tell! I love the doughnuts in the gym...classic...that's my kind of fitness!
xoxo

From Amber and Mike Gallun Milwaukee, United States Dec 6, 2007 Positive Beth is an extremely creative and caring friend. She's wonderful at unselfishly finding exactly what a person needs and taking care of it. Many a person (including myself) has received a spontaneous letter or email from Beth chaulked full of stories and encouragement. When she's around, Beth radiates fun. I've never had a "boring" experience whilst hanging out with her. A stay with Beth is likely to be creatively entertaining.
From Sarah Bagley Manchester, United Kingdom Oct 26, 2007 Positive Although a little crazy at times, Beth is an amazing and fun person to be with and will lead you into all sorts of mischeif! ;-)
Have her to stay and you will have a fantastic experience!
From Shane Street Bartow, United States Oct 16, 2007 Positive Beth is such a amazing person to spend time with for me it seems so easy just to loose days in her company she has this amazing presence and is able to relate well with almost everyone, so much depth and other warming qualitys make her the wonderful person that she is.
From Katie Huebner Tirana, Albania Apr 24, 2007 Positive Beth is the most adventurous person I know. She is friendly, funny, and has a huge heart for meeting people. She's totally entertaining with her traveling stories and can talk about anything (especially Survivor) for hours. :)
From Branch Clarke Richmond, United States Apr 17, 2007 Positive Beth was a greast host. I was walking to there place from Monterey, VA, and they had even left me a note on a road sign. Sadly, it had rained the day before, but its the thought that counts. I was completely comfortable at their place, and was glad to have met her. Especially when she gave me a ride to Elkins!Well done.
From Walter Young Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom Mar 31, 2007 Positive Beth stayed with us for a couple of nights. She was a wonderful guest and great company. We would be delighted if she came back and visited us again.
