Apologies,
the idea of couchsurfing is making some of my housemates uncomfortable. You can still try to contact me if you know one of my friends though: I'll see what I can do.

I try to great as much as I can, stay active in forums and go to meetings to meet the locals. But mostly, I host and I couchsurf whenever I get a chance.
CouchSurfing Experience
I have been hosted about 25 times so far, while doing a year long trip, and I met lots of people just travelling around. Most of our hosts are now friends, and a few of them definetly changed my way of seeing the world!
I am now hosting fairly regularly and it is always a pleasure. I hope I can repay a little of all the fantastic times CS gave me.

Music, Movies, Books
All of them?
favourite film: Delicatessen by Carot and Jeunet, Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind, lately Waltz with Bashir
favourite songs: Sweet Sir Galahad by Joan Baez, Je suis une ville by Dominique A, Est-ce ainsi que les hommes vivent? by Leo Ferre
favourite books: Young men and Fire by Norman Maclean, Earth abides by George R. Stewart.
By favourite I mean things that "changed my life", somehow.
Currently addicted to Anne Enright, just finished American Gods by neil Gaiman and loved it, is going through a fling with Oliver Sachs and Murakami - not so keen on John Irving anymore.
And then, all the others... PJ Harvey, Eels, noir Desir, Francoiz Breut, Dominique A, Camane, Ella Fitzgerald, Jacques Brel, Beck, Bonnie Prince Billy, Antony and the Johnsons. Portishead, the Be Good Tanias, Iron and Wine, Nina Simone
David Lynch generally, Spanish and Italian films generally (Lucia y el sexo!), anything really. I even loved Last Action hero...

Teach, Learn, Share
I can talk about differences between cultures.
I can talk about travelling and what effects it has on you an what's around you.
I can teach you how to make a bechamel, a quiche or lasagna.
I can talk about architecture, although I'd rather not.
I can show you how to use a sewing machine and how to make origami cranes.
Oh, and I am learning holistic massage so I can talk about that to. And demonstrate at a push.
One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done
the top of Stromboli in Italy... an island of a volcano: at sunset, the earth is curving around you in hues of pink and blue, while roaring and spitting jets of liquid red hot rock tens of meters up...
- Northern Lights in Norway, I am still in awe
Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org Project
This site is just amazing! I have travelled a fair bit and it has made the whole experience so much richer. All the people we met through it changed my life and my vision of the world. There is a lot of generosity around. Pur bonheur!
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.

She cheers you up and always have a sweet word for you, always there when you need and always nice. She gives you strench and energy when you need it, she beautiful inside and outside. Imiss her and the wonderful girls eve than we did. Looking forward to visit her in Cork and fall into a sea of joy:))
thanks a lot Solène and Chris for your hospitalily! nice time in the pub to drink beamish. We followed your advice going to Bantry, our first stop with the huge car! we'll go next days in the Connemara,
Hope you're fine,
thanks guys
Solene is a very hospitable host. She met me in Cork city center and helped carry my backpack back to her incredibly beautiful home. She whipped up a tasty dinner for both of us and I was able to hear some of her travel stories. She recommended loads of great places to go in Cork. I hope I make it back one day to see more and get a chance to talk with Solene again.

Solene was a breadth of fresh air over a hectic w/e. Sitting with her on the mountain overlooking the sea was the highlight of the w/e, its good to step off the roller coaster and watch the world go by. A very intelligent, interesting and caring person who I am happy to call a friend :-)
Solene is beautiful! I had a wonderful time meeting her in Tramore and getting the chance to hang out and chat with her. She has a beautiful heart and I always felt very welcomed around her! I hope to see her again and perhaps stay with her in Cork! Such a positive experience!

Solene is a lovely, genuine, generous person, i was so glad she hosted me in her beautiful home, thanks loads! :)
I didn't meet Solene through CS. She's sharing house with a good friend of mine. Although I don't know her very well, she is a very pleasant and interesting person to be around, very open and friendly and intelligent.
Unfortunately I could not host Solene when she came to Bergen but we met up and she is an easy going and friendly person. It was a relly fun night, sporty of you to come to a norwegian screening of new film makers. I hope our paths cross again somewhere!
