PLEASE STOP SENDING ME REQUESTS WITHOUT READING MY PROFILE FIRST!
I've just moved to an apartment in Jette (still Brussels) and I now need some time to unpack, redecorate, change a few things etc. Therefore I'm not able to accept any hosting requests.
For really urgent last minutes, I might make an exception. In that case put the word 'konijn' in the title.

Well, I'm just a lad from Belgium. I grew up in a small town called Maaseik, near the Dutch border. After my studies in Maastricht, just across that border, I decided to move to Brussels to enjoy the city life. Nowadays, I'm still exploring my world, always eager to find new things.
How I Participate in CS
I'm an active host and a CS ambassador, but this doesn't turn me into some kind of superhero. I'm still just a member like 1000s of others. After a year of just hosting and some surfing, I felt I should get more involved in the CS project. As a city ambassador I try to help out both members from Brussels and people visiting Brussels. Furthermore I'm trying to give CS a boost in my birth region Limburg.

Types of People I enjoy
Everyone is welcome as long as they take an effort to fill out their profile and they have been thinking about the real mission of CS. Actually, I enjoy all kind of people, but mostly openminded people who're looking for a deeper meaning in life, who have a goal.
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.
I had great conversation with Sven, I arrived late that night so we chatted for over an hour. We have a lot of things in common such as being vegetarians. We woke up early and had a nice breakfast and after another hour of conversation we parted our ways. I will definitely host Sven when he comes to Miami anytime!
I met a great person and am thankful he hosted me! thanks you again Sven :)

I met Svan in Madeira in September 2011 for five days.
He is a very nice, clever, openminded and fun.
As a Belgian, he likes and knows a lot about beers. ;)
See you soon Sven
I hosted Sven for one night. He was a very gentle and polite guest and he surprised me with a very good portuguese language level and also with his interest and knowledge about portuguese culture. Hope you have enjoyed this this little bit of Alentejo I was able to show you for just one day!
Sven was an extraordinary host. He provided us with maps for Brussels as well as the other cities that we planned on visiting. He recommended a nice town for us to stop at on our way to Brugge and helped us find a host there. Sven also prepared us delicious meals, shared some magnificent music with us (please send a message with the band names so we can continue to enjoy the music! :-)), showed us around the city, took us to a local brewery, and introduced us to some other couchsurfers. To top it all off he even stayed up late with us one night to help us out when we ran into an unexpected situation. All around great guy and amazing host. :-)
Sven is such a marvelous host! He welcomed my travel partner and me into his home for a few days and showed us an amazing time in Brussels! He prepared wonderful food for us, took us to some great pubs for top-notch microbrews, gave us wonderful travel tips and pointers, toured us through the entire city, helped us find a host for our next stop, and stayed up all night helping us when we ran into a very unexpected situation. Sven opened his home and his heart and showed us why CouchSurfing is such a community- and peace-building initiative. Thank you for being such a fantastic host! :-)
Staying at Sven's has been the first experience me and my girlfriend have in couch surfing and it could't been better. He helped us with lots of good information about the city, definitely our visit wouldn't be that good without his help.thanks again Sven we hope to see again in Madrid or London.

I surfed Sven's comfy couch for 3 nights during the Brussels CS summer event. Sven was very hospitable and went out of his way to make sure I was enjoying my time in Brussels. I really enjoyed talking with Sven on a wide range of topics and getting to know him a bit at the different events. Sven - thank you very much!
Sven is a great guy with a wealth of knowledge. We went out for dinner and we shared our experiences. He told me about the Belgian traditions and history, which I really appreciated. He is a very welcoming and warm person. Many thanks for your hospitality. Hope to see you again.
