LOCATION
I live alone in a 80 sqm apartment located in the west part of Padova, pretty close to the city center.
My area is quite well served by transportation system: one bus line stopping at 30mt from the house, and other two lines located at 5-10 mins by foot, connect it to the railway station in about 20 mins, and the center itself is easily reacheable by foot in about 15 mins and 5 by bike.
COUCH & HOUSE
- In the living room there are two bed-couches for a person each
- I have an air mattress for two people that can be put anywhere (usually in the living room)
- There are now two real matresses in the living room instead of the air matress
- In case of need, more space is available on the floor without any mattresses in the same room and in another room (computer room) for 2-4 additional people
- In exceptional cases, also my room is available, with one matress close to mine and space on the floor.
Despite the availability of sleeping arrangements, I will host only up to 3 people from the same group, and usually 1 or 2.
Depending on the period and my acceptance of requests, you might or you might not be staying with other guests in the same room. Feel free to ask about it if this concerns you!
Please bring blankets/sheets or a sleeping bag, because having many guests all the time I can't provide blankets for everyone (don't have enough), and washing blankets after one guest use is a waste of energy.
I don't have pets and I don't smoke. Please respect my house and smoke outside.
A broadband connection with Wi-Fi Access Point is available. You can use my PC, but don't abuse it!
In the summer the apartment gets quite warm being exposed to the sun all day long. There is a fan available but no air conditioning.
I'm concerned about the environment, so my electricity is provided by a carbon-free renewable energy producer and I ask you to shut off the lights or devices when it's not necessary as this kind of energy is scarce. Moreover, try to keep showers short.
The fridge is usually empty so you can bring your own food (or buy it at the supermarket). Nevertheless I like cooking and sharing knowledge about it :)
Also, there are 3 bicycles available for you to tour the city easily! :)
Wheelchair accessibility: doors are 1,20 meters wide, although my apartment is located at the 2nd floor, and without lift. Please contact me for more details.
Neighbour warning: living in a block of flats means respecting other neighbours too, so I have to kindly ask you to keep noises at the minimum after 23:00 and before 07:00 or I'll have to kick your ass :D:D:D
COUCHSURFING WITH ME
First of all, please don't ask for a couch with more than 1 month advance time. Why? Because my plans are quite uncertain and I can give certain answers not more than 2 weeks before.
If you want to couchsurf with me, I will consider each request on a 'first come, first served' basis and a confirmation of your stay is needed, otherwise I'll feel free to give the couch to other people. I repeat: You are kindly asked to confirm if I say YES.
Usually I send you my contact information and detailed directions, so please take them with you to avoid any problems! By the way, my number is visible on the profile. If anything changes, please keep me updated through CS message or phone. The communication is up to the guest!
People who don't show up as agreed and without an earlier notice will get a neutral reference.
I prefer hosting guests that are able to stay minimum two nights - in order to spend more time toghether and get to know better. If you can only stay one night, no problem, but two and more nights guests will have priority. Latecomers and earlyleavers are not my favourite kind of guests, please specify your arrival&departure times in your request. I enjoy more hosting guests that can spend at least an evening with me to have dinner/talks/drinks/etc.. together.
During the week I am usually busy during the day due to my job or studying for a State exam. If I'm not busy (during weekends, usually), I will be glad to show you around the city for a bit, have a pizza or a spritz. My time schedule is always changing according to my activities, so we will see day-by-day.
The best time for me is weekends, usually I'm less busy during weekends, but also during the week I'll do my best to help you! Three times a week (Tuesday-Friday-Saturday) I go swimming in the evening (9-11pm and 5-6.30pm on Saturday) so I cannot guarantee my presence.
I'm often away during summer, but I should be able to help you on most times of the year. All what I wrote is subject to changes so please ask anyway :)
The two golden rules, simple advices to keep in mind when staying at my place so we can avoid any misunderstanding:
- Leave everything as you found it
- If you are in doubt, just ask me for anything and don't be shy!
An obvious thing is that if you don't agree with what I wrote here or you think that we might be uncompatible, just don't ask me for the couch!
Note to freeloaders: Just don't expect me to be a full hotel service with free tour, meals and so on included - because I am not. If you stay with me consider yourself lucky :) and be prepared to have other guests around and don't complain, cause I love hosting people :)

WHAT TO SEE AND VISIT
Venice is located at 30 min by train (just 2,90€) from Padova station during all the day from 5 till 24, many times per hour.
If you are coming to Padova, more than just visiting the nearby Venice, spend some time to visit also the historical Old Town city center and the main squares.
A CS wiki page about Padova with many useful tips and some of the places you can visit is here.
A website of the Tourist Information Office is also available: Turismo Padova (including GPS itineraries and audio guides!)
A video with shots from Padova
Guide to traveling by train within Italy
And a final note: please consider the cultural exchange and NOT only the free accomodation.
Couchsurfing Request is very much appreciated or, alternatively, MSN. I will answer as soon as possible saying if the couch it's available at the moment.

Personal DescriptionDescribing myself seems a difficult task, it should be up to the other people to describe me, but I can try: I love to Know, I love travelling, I love the life and all its challenges, I'm quite rational, but sometimes my irrational-spiritual side comes out.
I think a good description of me are my interests so look at them!
I'm proud to be Italian, but often I'd like to go abroad...How I Participate in CSI'm currently Country Ambassador, Geo-fixer for Italy, Event Message Approval Team member, contributor for the Couchsurfing Wiki and glad helping to build a local organisational structure for Couchsurfing.
I'd like to see more inputs and tools to let people operate effectively.CouchSurfing ExperienceBefore I joined CS, I've been two times in Germany in the house of a friend of mine, and I slept on a couch with a beautiful view on the Rhine river.
Some Statistics (I love stats and it's just not only numbers!):
I'm involved in CS primarily as a host. Of the thousands requests I received and answered, 266 led to an effective hosting experience. They came through various Hospitality Exchange websites: 63% of them are from CS members! I am also a member of Hospitality Club, BeWelcome and GlobalFreeLoaders.com and they account for the 21% of the remaining requests. 14% of the requests were made by members belonging to more than one network.
My guests
As of August 30th, 2009, I have hosted 429 guests (422 hosted once + 7 more than once) from 49 different countries!!!

Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org ProjectNow, I'm a member since more than three years, and my experience as host and guest has been very very good, I met some of the most interesting people on the planet.
I think it's a beautiful project, and Casey had a clever idea creating it. I think that in the future it will be useful for me, I love travelling and this is a genuine way to do it. You can meet interesting people, know a country with an 'insider''s view...
There are some suspicious people and some profiles do not match the reality of the person, bu mostly we're people that want travelling all around the world, and the friendship/reference/verification system is quite good.
I believe in the idea of Hospitality, that's why I'm promoting this and other websites (Hospitality Club) to trustworthy people.Locations TraveledTRAVELED: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Egypt, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland (Republic of), Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Martinique, Morocco, Norway, Poland, San Marino, Scotland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Vatican LIVED: France, Italy, Lithuania WANTS TO GO: Afghanistan, Cambodia, Canada, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Greenland, Iceland, India, Latvia, Libya, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, United States
What do these numbers mean?
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you. References (407)398Positive 9Neutral 0Negative

From Elena Timofeeva Trabzon, Turkey Nov 3, 2011 Positive It was really fun meeting and hosting Tiziano. He was passing through Trabzon on his way to his friend's wedding in Abkhazia. So after the wedding he had loads of entertaining stories to tell. I couldn't show him much of Trabzon cause he was always here at night. But you got to know the Efes pub though)) Hope to meet up in future, Padova sounds good))
From Zoe Hunter Chicago, United States Sep 30, 2011 Positive Tiziano was so nice and accommodating! I only wish I had more time- like many, I stayed in Padova and went into Venice for the day. At night, he made time to take me to one of his favorite restaurants, and a walking tour around his town. Full of information and good wine & food :) Worth the walk, even in heels!
