LOCATION
I live alone in a 80 sqm apartment located in the west part of Padova, pretty close to the city center.
My area is quite well served by transportation system: one bus line stopping at 30mt from the house, and other two lines located at 5-10 mins by foot, connect it to the railway station in about 20 mins, and the center itself is easily reacheable by foot in about 15 mins and 5 by bike.
COUCH & HOUSE
- There is one spare room with two bed-couches for a person each
- I have an air mattress for two people that can be put anywhere (usually in the guest room)
- In case of need, more space is available on the floor without any mattresses in the same room and in another room (computer room) for 2-4 additional people
- In exceptional cases, also my room is available, with one matress close to mine and space on the floor
Depending on the period and my acceptance of requests, you might or you might not be staying with other guests in the same room. Feel free to ask about it if this concerns you!
I kindly ask you, if possible, to bring a sleeping bag or blankets, because having many guests all the time I can't provide blankets for everyone, and washing blankets after one guest use is a waste of energy.
I don't have pets and I don't smoke. Please respect my house and smoke outside.
A broadband connection with Wi-Fi Access Point is available. You can use my PC, but don't abuse it!
In the summer the apartment gets quite warm being exposed to the sun all day long. There is a fan available but no air conditioning.
Also, there are 3 bicycles available for you to tour the city easily! :)
Wheelchair accessibility: doors are 1,20 meters wide, although my apartment is located at the 2nd floor, and without lift. Please contact me for more details.
COUCHSURFING WITH ME
First of all, please don't ask for a couch with more than 1 month advance time. Why? Because my plans are quite uncertain and I can give certain answers not more than 2 weeks before.
If you want to couchsurf with me, I will consider each request on a 'first come, first served' basis and a confirmation of your stay is needed, otherwise I'll feel free to give the couch to other people. I repeat: You are kindly asked to confirm if I say YES.
Usually I send you my contact information and detailed directions, so please take them with you to avoid any problems! By the way, my number is visible on the profile. If anything changes, please keep me updated through CS message or phone. The communication is up to the guest!
I prefer hosting guests that are able to stay minimum two nights - in order to spend more time toghether and get to know better. If you can only stay one night, no problem, but two and more nights guests will have priority. Latecomers and earlyleavers are not my favourite kind of guests. I enjoy more hosting guests that can spend at least an evening with me to have dinner/talks/drinks/etc.. together.
During the week I am usually busy during the day for work or the writing of my thesis. If I'm not busy with exams and other university activities, I will be glad to show you around the city for a bit, have a pizza or a spritz. My time schedule is always changing according to my activities, so we will see day-by-day.
The best time for me is weekends, usually I'm less busy during weekends, but also during the week I'll do my best to help you! Twice a week (Monday-Thursday) I go swimming in the evening around dinner time (7-8.30pm) and once I go to a cinema-forum so I cannot guarantee my presence.
I'm often away during summer, but I should be able to help you on most times of the year. All what I wrote is subject to changes so please ask anyway :)
The two golden rules, simple advices to keep in mind when staying at my place so we can avoind any misunderstanding:
- Leave everything as you found it
- If you are in doubt, just ask me for anything!
- at my place you will find some advices on how to use the facilities in the house ;)
Note to freeloaders: Just don't expect me to be a full hotel service with free tour, meals and so on included - because I am not. If you stay with me consider yourself lucky :) and be prepared to have other guests around and don't complain, cause I love hosting people :)
WEATHER
WHAT TO SEE AND VISIT
Venice is located at 30 min by train (just 2,90€) from Padova station during all the day from 5 till 24, many times per hour.
If you are coming to Padova, more than just visiting the nearby Venice, spend some time to visit also the historical Old Town city center and the main squares.
A CS wiki page about Padova with many useful tips and some of the places you can visit is here.
A website of the Tourist Information Office is also available: Turismo Padova (including GPS itineraries and audio guides!)
A video with shots from Padova
Guide to traveling by train within Italy
And a final note: please consider the cultural exchange and NOT only the free accomodation.
Couchsurfing Request is very much appreciated or, alternatively, MSN. I will answer as soon as possible saying if the couch it's available at the moment.

Personal DescriptionDescribing myself seems a difficult task, it should be up to the other people to describe me, but I can try: I love to Know, I love travelling, I love the life and all its challenges, I'm quite rational, but sometimes my irrational-spiritual side comes out.
I think a good description of me are my interests so look at them!
I'm proud to be Italian, but often I'd like to go abroad...How I Participate in CSI'm currently Country Ambassador, Geo-fixer for Italy, Event Message Approval Team member, contributor for the Couchsurfing Wiki and glad helping to build a local organisational structure for Couchsurfing.
I'd like to see more inputs and tools to let people operate effectively.CouchSurfing ExperienceBefore I joined CS, I've been two times in Germany in the house of a friend of mine, and I slept on a couch with a beautiful view on the Rhine river.
Some Statistics (I love stats and it's just not only numbers!):
I'm involved in CS primarily as a host. Of the thousands requests I received and answered, 266 led to an effective hosting experience. They came through various Hospitality Exchange websites: 63% of them are from CS members! I am also a member of Hospitality Club, BeWelcome and GlobalFreeLoaders.com and they account for the 21% of the remaining requests. 14% of the requests were made by members belonging to more than one network.
My guests
As of August 30th, 2009, I have hosted 429 guests (422 hosted once + 7 more than once) from 49 different countries!!!

Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org ProjectNow, I'm a member since more than three years, and my experience as host and guest has been very very good, I met some of the most interesting people on the planet.
I think it's a beautiful project, and Casey had a clever idea creating it. I think that in the future it will be useful for me, I love travelling and this is a genuine way to do it. You can meet interesting people, know a country with an 'insider''s view...
There are some suspicious people and some profiles do not match the reality of the person, bu mostly we're people that want travelling all around the world, and the friendship/reference/verification system is quite good.
I believe in the idea of Hospitality, that's why I'm promoting this and other websites (Hospitality Club) to trustworthy people.Locations TraveledTRAVELED: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland (Republic of), Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Martinique, Morocco, Norway, Poland, San Marino, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Vatican LIVED: France, Italy, Lithuania WANTS TO GO: Afghanistan, Cambodia, Canada, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Greenland, Iceland, India, Latvia, Libya, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, United States References

The CS meeting he organizes every year for the 'Festa del Redentore' was really great,...met lots of interesting people, squeezed through the crowd in venice, walked the bridge, admired the fireworks and the plentiful party boats on the grand canal, had some good italian food on the canal, and after partying we slept on the beach.... oh, and all along the way was SPRITZ,...awsome.... I'd recommend everybody to stay with Tiziano,...great guy, great friends in the superbe town of Padova...
From desaparecida Vienna, Austria Sep 14 Positive After having read a lot about and from Tiziano we finally got to know each other in person when we stayed in his cool and international apartement for two nights. Tiziano went out of his way to make sure we have a good time, provided us with lots of helpful as well as interesting information about Padova, fed us lovely home cooked food and even tought Birgit a typical Italian receipe. It was a very welcome change to stay in such an ecologically friendly household and whitness the respect Tiziano shows to his environment and our planet. We had lots of fun listening to his stories and sharing a big CS dinner with several other surfers on our last night. We hope to meet up again soon for more fun and maybe even a grape harvesting this time - the only thing we don't need to repeat is the bike accident ;o)

From Karina Vernizzi Sao Paulo, Brazil Jul 30 Positive Tiziano would be a perfect host if he hadnt so boring neighbours. And as said Lucy, if he hadnt so much testosterone sometimes... he he he.

From Ondrej Koscik Vranov nad Toplou, Slovakia Jul 29 Positive Tiziano hosted me and my sister during the Venice Carnival. At that day he was also organizing the Venice Carnival CS Meeting. Despite that he has took great efforts to make our visit most memorable and comfortable. He has shown us around Padua, lent us bicycles to explore it ourselves and even invited us to ski in the Alps! I am really happy that at the end our visit turned out in such a brilliant way. Tiziano, you are a wonderful person and I will be forever grateful to you. I will let you feel welcome any time you'll be around. And - we have to ski that hill some time! See you next Carnival, or sooner! ;)

From Harald Vogl Linz, Austria Jul 21 Positive Tiziano is a great guy, he was very friendly and hospitable. Actually we got spaghetti when we arrived at 9 pm ;-). He is a great CouchSurfer, you will see immediately that he knows much about other countries and people. Thank you very much for everything and maybe we will get back to Italy and Padova to stay longer…. Ciao!
From Karolis Kairelis Bristol, United Kingdom Jul 19 Positive I was very impressed of how much he knew about Lithuania!
He was very friendly host and his hospitality was very appreciative :) It's a pitty that we couldn't come to the CS meeting in Verona, but hopefully you had much fun :) Next time we'll come to see more of Padova!
From Ilker Duran Istanbul, Turkey Jul 14 Positive He's a really great guy, as he offered me a last minute couch and saved my day :) Padova is a great city to live and I think he's really lucky about that. Also I should thank for the great mojito party that he invited me and had fun all night :) He's a very good CSer and host to remember and to stay with ...
From Lauren Andree New York, United States Jul 13 Positive Tiziano lent me maps and guidebooks, without which I wouldn't have had the slightest idea what to do or see during my short stay in Padova! He also lent me his bike, which other than being incredibly nice of him, was a really fun way to see the city. He also taught me how to make spaghetti carbonara, which was awesome :) Thank you for hosting me, Tiziano!
From Lucy Alesbury Chichester, United Kingdom Jul 13 Positive I really enjoyed padua - had a bit of an adventure in the tropical downpour..
ended up getting our tonne of fruit and veg home from the local market in a pram we found and had to tell all the confused paduans "non c´e bimbo!"
(nella carrozzina)!!
... i will never forget the amazing party with all the operatic singing and laughter, true italian-style!
was great fun practising my italian.. and the nearby countryside was just stunning :)thank u, tiziano!!
Bloody good guy!
From THXMIL138 Oeiras, Portugal Jul 5 Positive It took almost 4 years to comment my experience with him. Just that tells how much I still associate him with my good experiences on hospitality networks.
Great time at Padova on my way to Bosnia by bicycle.
Hope we meet again somewhere, somewhen.
From Magdalena Wasiluk Bialystok, Poland Jun 30 Positive Although Tiziano was so busy with upcoming exam and tired after work, he generously agreed to host me and my friend while short stay in beautiful Padova. We spent there really nice time, especially evening "square-gathering" was impressive! Thanks a lot for such a nice CS experience:)
From Stephanie Chausse Saint-Malo, France Jun 26 Positive Tiziano is a really nice guy and good host! He answered to my last minute request and I spent a great time with him. Thanks to him I discovered Padova which is a really beautifull city. Good deal to spend days in Venice and evenings in Padova! We went to a meeting of couchsurfers, erasmus and a lot of other people speaking english : it was a so nice night with champagne! He has a great passion too for this community. Nice place and full of positive energy…wish I could have more time there… Grazie for your hospitality :)
From Marijeta Savic Belgrade, Serbia Apr 23 Positive Tiziano was my first CS host, and I must admit I was lucky :-) He hosted both me and my flatmate for 5 days. However after reading his profile (hosted hundreds!) my expectations were different –I expected him to be extrovert. So it came as a positive surprise that my image of him did not fit into who he really is. Instead of being an energy bomb as I imagined him, he turned out to be a nice, calm person, simple, welcoming and trustworthy. I guess he won me over with his never-ending tolerance and the fair attitude with zero prejudice. Enjoyable evenings with him, many of his friends, CS meeting and hiking are just bits and pieces of what he left as a memory.
Hope to see you in Belgrade Super Trouper :*

From Du Cavalera Campinas, Brazil Aug 21, 2007 Positive I was in Bologna and i sent an email to Tiziano asking about his couch. Padova is a city near to Venice and I didn't think to go there, but Tiziano shows me some maps and books about and Padova is really nice. I knew Padova in one day and Venice in outher one... Was really incridible. Tiziano is a very good guy, he is friendly and funny. Was just perfect in his house.
Tiziano, I want see you in Brazil...
From Tony Hawke Toronto, Canada Jul 21, 2007 Positive Tiziano made me appreciate Padua so much more than I other wise would have, his passion and knowledge of the town is fantastic. He was a most excellent host: sharing his bikes and organising a really fun CS meeting in Venice. Thanks Tiziano!

From ESTONICA Kilkenny, Ireland (Republic of) Jun 28, 2007 Positive Tiziano is a very smart, helpful and friendly guy, a true traveller. To be honest, I was surprised to hear about his hitch hiking tour through the Baltics... (for me it's a lot to expect from an italian, hehe, sorry!). I definately recommend meeting him!!!
From Alessandro C. Torino, Italy Jun 20, 2007 Positive I've been chatting a long time before we met with Tiziano and he always seemed to me he was very dedicated and that he incarnated the spirit of CS very well, and that he was a very active member. BUT, as a matter of fact, despite living both in the north of italy, till may 2007 our paths didnt cross at all, although i had a sneak preview with the good Giuseppe. So when I told him I was visiting Padova and Venice he responded eagerly, breaking a quite long hosting fasting period. The room is huge and the mattress is very comfortable, and in the morning you get waken up by birds singing. We spoke a lot then Giuseppe arrived with great ice cream... after that we left him at his commitments and we toured a bit this beautiful city but then he reached us, explained how troublesome has been putting a bus int downtown. Eating pizza at Bella Napoli with an entire rugby female team was awsome and then we walked home. After a good sleep we went for breakfast, we knew Roberto and then left for Mestre, he was doubtful before but in the end we came and we had great fun meeting Karim, Icio and lots of others people there you know Mestre is really crowded with guests... our nice trip unfortunately came up to an end but it's just the first round. Tiziano is definitely a good guide, he knows every brick of his city and of the neighbour cities. He also has a very vast culture in every field, be it music, art, architecture... I know I'm losing my time recommending him and his couch because you already know but still I want to be singing in that choir. Thanks for everything Tiziano and we're waiting open arms in Turin for you and whoever wants to come!
From Franz Reithmayr Haag, Germany Jun 4, 2007 Positive I gave Tiziano a ride to the BerlinBeachCamp 2006. Without the help of the navigation system on his mobile phone, I would have had big problems to find my way through Berlin. Thank you very much for that. Tiziano is a smart guy who is also very talented in languages. Furthermore he is the CS hero in Italy. Tiziano, I wish you all the best in your final exams.
From Giacomo Frullani Trieste, Italy May 15, 2007 Positive Tiziano is the perfect CS member! I met him in some CS meetings. A nice person always ready to participate as an active member in the CS project. If you pass by Padova ask him what to do... you won't regret!!!

From Stefano Cortinovis Tartu, Estonia Mar 25, 2007 Positive We haven't spent a lot of time together - just a quick ride to the train station and a nice afternoon in Padova with our guests - but Tiziano clearly showed me he's someone you can trust. His references talk for himself. He's willing to help and seems to like his beautiful town; he's also active when it comes to organise a meeting or anything CS related. We definitely had fun.

From flohfish Wedding, Germany Mar 2, 2007 Positive At BBC Tiziano was only one of many but how good is it to always meet twice.
First time we met again at WWC was at the Volunteer workshop, and as he has already written in his comment for me, we both had very similar ideas about how to organize things. Many people where just sitting around at that workshop and listening, but Tiziano was one of the active ones - right attitude.
After that workshop we met again at the breakfat table of elaija and olao. Originally that was not planned but I just ended up with different hosts cause... that's another story...
...and I must say, I was happy to be hosted at the same place like him because our breakfast together with the rest of hour little big family wher for me one of the highlits of the WWC.
The morning times were always a mix of just chilling, interesting conversation, crazy stories and and and... and tiziano definitely took a big part in making those mornings something special.
What more to say... my words do not always flow... I think you can definitely trust Tiziano and if he is as a great host as he is a guest than I have definitely to visit him!!!
Finally, one more thing to say:
I am very unhappy that I am not living near Frankfurt-Hahn anymore because I got very sad when I saw that I friend of mine hosted him and his girlfriend in that area. What a missed opportunity...
From Catherine Morin Boulais Quebec, Canada Mar 2, 2007 Positive My first CS experience was with Tiziano and it was as best as it could be! Very very nice person, helpful, trustful...I really enjoyed my stay with him! (And sorry we had to leave so early...)
From Toni Walia Warsaw, Poland Feb 28, 2007 Positive I like Italians and some of my favorite HC persons are Italian. Roberto, Luca Boccia, Italo, Corrado to name afew. Afterwards we met also in Riga NY camp and I hope to meet again some time!
From Katerina T Vancouver, Canada Aug 20, 2006 Positive Tiziano made me feel at home right away. I didn't get to spend a lot of time with him because he was working but he was really helpful with maps and directions and I felt very comfortable surfing at his place. I was going to surf a second time when I returned to Padova but Tiziano had exams and wasn't able to host me, but he still went out of his way to try and find me another host (he didnt find anyone available but it's the thought that counts). Also when I was hosting with him, he tried finding me a host in Rome with all his connections and he gave me many good tips on couchsurfing. Thankz Tiziano!
From Morgan Dresser Phoenix, United States Aug 6, 2006 Positive Only good times with Tiziano!! Padova is a great town outside of Venice, and Tiziano is an excellent host!!! We cooked some good italian food and got to try some exotic liquors!!! We miss you!
From FAIRYGRRL San Francisco, United States Aug 5, 2006 Positive Homemade gelati. I stayed with Tiziano in Padova and experienced a really warm welcome. We had a family dinner complete with homemade gelati (that was made on the spur-of-the-moment, even though they also served Easter cake, just because I mentioned that I liked gelati!) Tiziano was really easy-going, friendly, and so enthusiastic about making sure I experienced all Padova had to offer. You can tell that he loves his hometown and wants other people to enjoy it. Not only that, but he hosted me while he had another CS guest, SURFCAM, and Cam and I became friends too! So, now I have two new friends!! I really hope that I can host Tiziano someday wherever I end up. He's an honest, unassuming, generous guy and the kind of person that makes CS so wonderful. Before I even met him, I knew that Tiziano was a-friend-hadn't-yet-met... but now I know him and am happy to shorten that to "friend".
From Warren Serrano London, Canada Aug 5, 2006 Positive Hosted us in Padova!! Thanks so much to Tiziano for giving us a place to stay!! Unfortunately, due to late trains and missed busses, we didn't get to meet up in Venice (completely missed Venice), and didn't get to see much of Padova. But generous Tiziano still opened his apt to us despite our insanely short stay. He's a super active CS'er and best of luck in the future and have a blast in Germany!

After drinking cheap lemoncello we all went out and bought a few drinks and Tiziano guided us around the city of Padova while munching on falafel and kabob. Thank you for the time Tiziano, you are a kind man. Keep up with the tide, entiendes¿
From Dai Rillera Auckland, New Zealand Jul 19, 2006 such a genuinely nice guy. Tiziano graciously hosted Troy and I for three nights before we went on to Florence. His interest in meeting people is unmatched among those I have met. Tiziano, you are welcome in Massachuchusetts. Mille grazie, a presto.
From Gloria Nieto Toronto, Canada Jul 19, 2006 A few days in Padova. Since the first moment I arrived at Tiziano's house he offers his hospitality giving me as much information he could get about trains, sightseeing, buses...and everything I could need.
