ABOUT ME

Sheethal just got back from working as a Kiva Fellow in La Paz, Bolivia and Cusco, Peru for 6 months. Check out Kiva.org and make a $25 loan to a poor entrepreneur around the world.

Sheethal was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Long Island near JFK airport. Tokumbo is from Minneapolis, MN. Besides NY, Sheethal has lived in Valencia, Spain and Tokyo, Japan studying and working. Toks has lived in Honduras and Guatemala working on solar energy for small villages. We both love traveling and want to live abroad again. We are liberal and open minded. We lived in Manhattan for several years and then moved to Fort Greene, Brooklyn a couple years ago. We are uncannily similar - we're soulmates :). We have two crazy kittens (Arepa and Mojito). We love music and live concerts and being outdoors. Sheethal loves food (in fact, she have a keen food memory - she remember experiences based on what she ate). She loves to cook for people and entertain. We eat fish but no other meat, except when it gets in the way of experiencing something. Sheethal love rock climbing, snow boarding and scuba diving. Tokumbo plays soccer in two leagues.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We lend our guest room to couchsurfers and have surfed with and have met some wonderful people around the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We lend our guest room to couchsurfers and have surfed with and have met some wonderful new friends around the world from/in Bolivia, Peru, Australia, France, Belgium, New York, U.S, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sheethal teaches financial literacy to high school students and does credit counseling for adults.

Tokumbo is on the board of two Brooklyn charter schools and a Brooklyn YMCA.

Teach, Learn, Share

Sheethal is an analytics guru. She loves the internet and her gadgets and anything new media.

Sheethal grew up in NY and Tokumbo is super into architecture. We both know a ton about neighborhoods and random stuff about NY. We can suggest some cool and off the beaten track places to see while you're here. We're not up on the club scene anymore but we are total foodies so we can definitely recommend some good eats in any cuisine except steak houses and BBQ joints.
