Michael Nelson

Michael replied to my message with a phonecall within 10 minutes. I "moved in" later that same night. He was an absolute pleasure to deal with from the very beginning. Great conversationalist:) He went to a few yoga classes with me and we got to exchange some ideas and theories on life. I helped him sell some stuff on Ebay which gave me some much needed cash and I believe we both learned more about ourselves from our time together. I look forward to taking him out to a nice dinner when I return to Vegas in 6 weeks. Michael is a great guy! I will even say that I miss him right now:)

with four of us visiting Micheal was an informative host and helped show us the sights of Vagas in style. An interesting character who enjoyed our home cooking while we stayed. I thank him for the awesome nights out on the vagas strip and taking us into his fabulous loft.

Michael was an amazing host, who took us out one night for a true Vegas experience. He knew all about the area and gave us advice on what to see, do and where we could hike! He has an interesting sense of humour and a fabulous loft. We all enjoyed our stay with the ultimate Las Vegas couchsurfer.

I surfed at Michael's place waaaayy back in May. It was my first experience and a great one at that. We went out to dinner and he talked to me about some of the more important aspects of CS. I was only able to stay one night as I was on my way from Colorado to San Diego but it was a good experience.

When I and my friend were looking for a host in Vegas, we got a very quick response from Michael. Michael has a GREAT house!:) It's the most luxurious place we've ever stayed in. Michael is a very interesting person to talk to. Unfortunately, we stayed with him only for 2 nights and we didn't have much time to talk, but we talked at night:)There is Michael's friend and colleague living in the house and he is very kind and hospitable too.
P.S. Michael, thanks a lot for hosting us! Sorry that it took me long to leave a reference for you! I didn't have any Internet access for a long time. Thanks once again!

 

Michael surprised me with hosting me for one night - thanks! An otherwise busy guy, and busy home, he opened up his home to me while hosting two other CSers! Oh, and it's a beautiful place to boot, as other CSers have mentioned (I'm double vouching any other references on this).

In the short time I was with Michael, he showed me some of the important features of CS.org. . . who knows where that will lead to, but I look forward to it! Not only is he a well-connected guy, he is a great host! I hope to meet up with his friends, in other countries, as I make my way back south. . . til I hit water. :)

I hope Michael is still available to host more people, since he is a pretty active host in a busy CSing-kind-of-place!

I (and my friend)had great time in Michaels house in Las Vegas. This house is very nice, comfortable and backlit. Thanks a lot... see you in Prague :)

I hate using CS.com for the reason I did at michaels, but I just needed a quick place to crash and he went above and beyond. We chilled at his place, drank some beers, watched the tube... had decent conversation.
I'd love to go back to party with him sometime.
And his pad is as awesome as the other references describe- amazing!

 

Mike was a great host, very accommodating and his place is unbelievable. He was pretty busy the weekend we stayed and we didn't have a chance to really have a good conversation but he did come gambling with us for a short while. Thanks for having us you will have to come visit in Australia (in the bush)!!

 

Michael let me stay at his loft in Vegas and I had an amazing time. My first couch surfing trip couldn't have been any better. I'm really glad I got to meet him and I would recommend him to any surfers that come to Vegas and need a place to crash after partying and gambling. I'll make sure to meet up with you the next time I'm coming to Vegas!

Michael was our saviour in Vegas, accepting our last minute request in a busy period for him. Moreover he welcomed us in his fabulous home with all the comfort its possible to imagine. We were taken care of like King's cats:) Instead of suggesting where to find a tent he gave us his experienced one...Thank You so much! Welcome to Tallinn anytime.

I had a great time with Michael. The accommodation was fantastic; truly a great host! Also, look forward to some engaging conversations :)

Mike is the kind of guy you can get into some really interesting conversations with. I _definitely_ recommend staying with him! Plus his house is amazing.
Un-f*ing-believable about the snow though, ha? you know the I-15 was closed at Primm??

michael is a very very funny man. if you stay with michael and ivan you will notice how extremely optimistic and lively they are. michael treated us as if we had lived there for a long time and we appreciated every minute of their generous hospitality. surf with these guys they are amazing. thankyou xxxxxx

 

Michael was very kind and generous allowing an out of town surfer and I use his house for our big night on the town! He is a very interesting person and I am looking forward to getting to know him better! To bad the snow bird is going to fly north again!

 

Michael and his roommate Ivan graciously entertained me for an afternoon/evening while I waited for a flight. They made Las Vegas fun for a non-gambler!

I met him through a fellow couch surfer and although it was only for a few hours it was a very interesting few hours. He is a super nice guy with a great sense of humor and if you get the opportunity stay with him and his awesome roommate because it will be an amazing time, you wont soon forget!!

He is a brilliant host..we felt absolutely comfortable, indipendent, and happy to share time with him, even if wasnt enough...magic location, fantastic shower and Boston's beer...wow!!..This is the second part of our reference!we hosted Michael in Spain and it was unforgettable..we met thru couchsurfing but we feel him as a real good friend, he entered into the spanish culture, talking to everybody as a curiose and intelligent person, respectfull and gratefull..thanks for coming..we really miss u...

I met Michael only 3 short times, as my friend Kathi and I surfed his and his roommate's living room couch. We had interesting conversations, though, covering everything from Shakespeare's poetry over scholarship programs to Austrian and Brazilian chocolate. Michael seems to be a smart and nice, very outgoing, guy!

I met michael when i stumbled into his amaaaazing Vegas High rise pent house at 10 o'clock in the morning and he immediatley offered me his comfy ass bed....... He is absoloutley off his nut but also lovely!!

Michael and I have shared a highrise condo in Las Vegas, together we have hosted dozens of CS'ers from all over the world. Michael loves to show couch surfers the city and the little known facts about Las Vegas. He is fun and exciting and always full of surprises...Michael even lets surfers stay when he is not here or does not know them on my word alone they come to our place and hang out. He has done some surfing in LA as well and is one of those people you simply must meet when you are in Vegas.

 

He was my roommate with me and my boyfriend in Las Vegas. He's a fun, friendly guy. He was kind to the couchsurfers we had staying with us. He loves to meet new people and hear about their experiences.

We unfortunately didn't get to spend nearly enough time with Mike. He was incredibly relaxed and welcoming of us staying in the slightly double booked apartment. He constantly made sure everyone was comfortable and taken care of.

Mike was a nice guy and would be a good guy to host! He was very generous in opening his home to us and showed us the vegas lifestyle which was nice. I would however not recommend young woman to stay with him because he can be a little aggressive/assertive.

Michael is a nice guy, that took really good care of me and my two friends when we were visiting Las Vegas. Appart from letting us stay in his wonderful appartment, he got us a free nights stay in a hotel!! =)
I would recommend any couchsurfer to stay with him.

Michael was a good host, he even gave us a hotelroom for one night at the circus circus, which was awesome!! we had a great time there and would love to go back!

 

It was great to have Michael surf my home. He is an amazing man and is focused and determined person in all areas of his life. He is easy going and knows a lot about a lot of things. He has a great deal of passion about his work and the environment and walks his talk. I found him to be quite an inspiring person and I look forward to keeping in touch with him. He has an open invite at my home anytime. I'm sure you will enjoy his company if you get the opportunity to have him surf with you.

 

We stayed at Mikes and Ivans place for 3 days and it was awesome! Originally Ivan should be our host, but he was at that time in Finland so we could crash his roommates couch, which is Mike! If you want to see the real Las Vegas you should stay at their place. Mike took us out to the coolest and hippest partys we would have never seen without him and we had so much fun (and were so drunken ;) ). If you want a 5 star treatment in this party and gambling city, then visit their place! Thank you so much for the crazy partynights and feeling like a celebrity! cheers and take care!!!

We had heaps of fun with Mike in Vegas ! He is such a nice guy and he showed us how to behave in a stripclub which is a really important skill being in Vegas. We would love to meet him again and host him in Germany !!!

We do not even want to think about having Las Vegas without getting to know Mike and his flatmate Ivan! But we are sure we hadn't enjoyed our time there half as much! We went to nightclubs and a show and had an absolutely great time together! Their kindness and hospitality exceeds everything a couchsurfer could dream of! Thank you so much for the wonderful and unforgettable time! We cannot wait till you come to visit us in Germany! :)

I stayed with Mike and Ivan in Vegas and had an absolutely awesome time. We went out and saw Zumanity, explored the casinos and went hat shopping at 1am in the morning. Mike is a great guy and it is fantastic how much effort he goes to, to reduce his carbon footprint!
Thanks Mike for a great Vegas experience and when I am next in the US I will have to come sailing in Rhode Island, and if you are ever in Australia, then you are always welcome to stay to my place. :)

You don't get a better experience of Las Vegas! Mike was a suprise as Ivan's flatmate. He showed us the little secrets of the fabulous hotels of Las Vegas. It's a very nice person and if you are a girl he probably wants to marry you ;)

Michael is the roommate of Ivan, the person of the couch. But Michael showed me and two other girls Las Vegas in a way I would never do it! It was great! It was really nice that he spend so much time in us. Thank you! You are a nice host and tour guide!
