Personal DescriptionI like the color purple (not the movie, the actual color), I find myself always attracted by it... I don't drink coffee, except the occasional espresso and I very much dislike cheese. yes I am really dutch! Typically dutch I should say: blond hair, blue eyes and pretty straight forward, or honest or clear, or whatever you'd like to call it :)
I studied Industrial Design Engineering a fancy description for product design. I started working with a large electronical company of which I won't mention the name here in the 'strategic futures' department, so I know what the future will be like ;)
[answer: the same as today only more of it...]
I got really fed up with it last year and found a new job. I think I like it, but have to get used to my manager....
To balance out work I started sewing classes, because I can never find what I'm looking for :)
And I teach dutch once a week to a turkish woman, which is a great way to see your own culture through the eyes of someone else... not always something to be proud of...
I started collecting Little prince books (you know: le petit prince who travels through the universe to earth) in different languages, bring me one and you'll be my long life friend (of course I'll pay for it!)How I Participate in CSI am still not recovered from my amazing CS Alaska experience. I finally had the opportunty to join one of the collectives. It blew me away and I'm currently involved in the UX research group.CouchSurfing ExperienceCouchsurfing is actually something I've been doing all my life, but just didn't know that it had a name! I've stayed with friends in Canada a few times in the past 10 years, but started in moscow and St Petersburg at age 14 - we played softball there.
In return my parents, and later on me and my housemates, hosted canadians, americans, french and russians and well.
Unfortunately, Breda is not the most popular place in Holland so not many cs-ers are passing by...
As a host I like to BE a host to people: have personal contact, eat together, talk and have fun together. Even though I'm busy with work, I'll do my best to make time to get to know each other.Interestslots of things... traveling (of course), photography, music.. shopping (hehe)...
Last year I visited Thailand for the first time, since then we eat thai food at least once a week. We participated in a short cooking class in thailand and now try to find those tastes in NL as well.
Since a few months I'm member of the library again, but have a hard time picking good books. I'd love to hear your suggestions!!!Philosophydo something that scares you... every day!Music, Movies, Booksanything from french literature to the cosmopolitan. Music from folk to rock and lounge... From Noelia Caro Breda, Netherlands Jul 9 Positive As I am now living in Breda, I decided to contact Wendy to meet some locals and get more into the Dutch lifestyle. Wendy has been a great surprise, we went to the movies (Coco avant Chanel) and enjoyed some tea and poffertjes (Dutch mini pancakes) and a good conversation. Definitely a person to meet more often in the future: interesting and felt like I knew her long. Nice to meet you Wendy!

From Nick Racz Scottsdale, United States Jul 7, 2008 Positive Wendy always had a big smile on her face and fun to be around. She made the collective a better place and it's a shame she had to leave. She also gave me a boost of confidence in my cooking ability.
See you later.
From Ben Hanna San Francisco, United States Jul 3, 2008 Positive We met for a few days at the Alaska Collective, and I quickly saw that Wendy is on her game, both professionally and Personally. I don't think she stopped smiling for the whole week!

From Patricia López Vancouver, Canada Jun 29, 2008 Positive Meet Wendy if you're looking for an Alaskan-summer-weather-proof smile or the Big Five. She won't reveal too much on where to find the latter, but she will give you the inspiration to begin the search with the former.
From Walter Heck Khon Kaen, Thailand Jun 29, 2008 Positive Wendy came to the collectiev for just one week. She is a very nice girl and was very eager to help. She jumped right in and did as much as was possible with the means available to her at the time. Kick-ass! Hope to meet you back in Holland at some point!

From VALERIEAK Anchorage, United States Jun 28, 2008 Positive Wendy is a wonderful person and very friendly. She stayed just one night. I probably kept her up too late chatting, but it was such a great conversation.
