Yet another Austinite who is equal to a cool banana! That place seems to be breeding cool people.

Trevor is a fun and active lad and a huge source of stories and helpful contacts. Funny how now that I'm in his neck of the woods, he is headed towards mine. I'm sure our paths will cross again, sooner or later.

I really enjoyed meeting Trevor. The way he travels in south america ,using bikes, is really impressive and I only wish I had the time and energy to do such a trip.

One of the last things Trevor told me was: "Sorry my junk was all over the place". Yes! His "junk" was all over the place... not just any junk: it was a privilege for me to be a part of Trevor's incredible journey, to see Surly go through dramatic and emotionally charged transformations, to witness Trevor's growing excitement as he was about to embark on the adventure of a life time!

I like people who has got the guts to ride on a bike to trotter the world ... and Trevor is one of those few. He's a sweet guy that manages to deal pretty well with his "gringo" background - no offense - Looks like a well travelled person easy to be with. I really enjoyed his company at Ervelin's house and even it was a totally packed couch, Trevor fit in really easy, being part of it right away. Trevor is a great guest. He will tidy your living room, wash your dishes and cook your food. He's like having a housewife without the emotional dependence/social obligation and is perhaps the most unobtrusive guest to ever grace my couch (couchsurfing or otherwise). In addition to being the most convenient guest ever he's also full of great stories/ life experiences from his extensive travels. Furthermore, how many of you have met a real live Nebraskan?... Didn't think so. Overall, he's definitely a keeper.

PS. Tropical hosts should remind Trevor to bathe frequently.

Trevor is one of the nicest couchsurfers I've ever met so far. He is very gentle, kind, smart, funny, great cooker, and much more!.
The time I've spent with him was great, from jumping around caracas, exploring caves, hiking big mountains, to playing around like kids and hitchiking through the coastline it was a great experience overall. I wish him the very best in his journey through South America and hope we met again in the future.
I regard him highly and recommend it to anyone.

I met Trevor when he was visiting his brother Andy here in Denver. Then I randomly ran into him on the street when I was visiting a friend in Austin. He's always good for some interesting conversation and I wish him the best of luck on his bike tour of South America.

Trevor is a cool guy, we hung out in Lawrence and shared traveling experiences, which he has lots of. I call him the advise man, he will give you it if necessary lol. I wish you luck on your biking trip!

 

Trevor was my first couchsurfing host. Despite being in the middle of numerous things, Trevor was nice enough to share his home with me for a few days. He is very friendly, laid back, and considerate. I'd definitely recommend him for hosting / couchsurfing. Good luck finding your way around South America!

I helped Trevor erect his tent(in a completely plutonic sense) only to realize he needs a footprint. 2 mil plastic doesn't cut it in the PNW. Had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed his company. The next morning was rough, only due to a 9,000 degree hot tub.

 

I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to get to know Trevor. He inspired me to live a little more fearlessly. He's also a badass chess player and a force to be reckoned with in the kitchen.

It was a pleasure meeting Trevor. He is that easy going guy you feel comfortable around wright away (no pun intended). He has a great sense of adventure and is passionate about the CS philosophy. I hope to host or hang out with Trevor next time he is in town. Even if it is only to listen to more of his Spanish/Portuguese music collection!

I spent a really good time with Trevor, he is so kind and is easy to talk with him you can talk about everything! most of the time we talk in spanish I was a suprised for this, his spanish is so good! all i can say is that trevor is truly what c.s is about.

after hosting people non stop we seriously needed a break for a night to ourselves.

we met trevor on the beach & immediately hit it off- w in a short amount of time, we demanded that he stayed w us!

so often w c.s you really have to go out of your way to accommodate people- but w trevor it was different, he made it an absolute pleasure hosting him. he was so considerate, GENEROUS, & interesting to talk to, that he left us refreshed. honestly, he is welcome in our home when ever he needs a place & i would recommend that to everyone!

Trevor is like a rock in a river...going with the flow whilst diverting it in new and unpredictable ways WHILST keeping it grounded...he knows the best tacos in Austin and can teleport and levitate. He also has the strength of 10 gorillas.

 

Trevor was a wonderful guest. It is always an added bonus when a guest brings hospitality with them. We enjoyed hearing the stories and adventures and future plans of Trevor. I spent a great time with Trevor and Meagan, his friend from Australia. Trevor is a very polite and easygoing guy and his spanish is perfect.They only spent one night at my place but it was quite intense. After going to a baseball game and having so much fun, my car broke down and it was quite an adventure. My friends came and we tried to pull it but it didn't work. We were even given a ride by the police, so I'm sure that was a first for them.

 

He was an excellent host and showed us a little slice of Austin that we wouldn't have otherwise seen. Funky little alternative cafe, check! Local music scene, check! Great host, check and double check!

Trevor is a great guy and was a very welcoming when I visited Austin. He's very open-minded and eager to experience the world and I enjoyed many a good conversation with him.

Trevor was a good visitor. I didn't host him until after dinner so I didn't get to partake in his usual treat of cooking. He's an engaging fellow, though, and his passion for travel is inspiring.

Trevor was the first person I have hosted, and my girlfriend and I both felt it was a pleasure to have him stay. Courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable...especially if it involves Central America. I wish we could have chatted longer, but from what time we had, Trevor was a trustworthy genuine person busy living the traveling life...a very exciting person to talk to about possibilities in Costa Rica!

One of my best experience of CS. Trevor definetly is into the CS concept so much. I really like this guy, coz with his short age, he has many experience in traveling, and full of knowledge. Also into all the latinamerican things, I think his soul is Latinamerican. Trevor is a good person to have a conversation where he grab the attention of the people around him. Smart, focus in his future and how to get what he want. Always keen to help others, and respecfull. A model type of guy. When I took him to the Panama Canal he get all the information as possible of the construction and profit of the Panama Canal, asking all the question to the tour guide in the site "I was so impress". I met Trevor when he sarted the thread for a Sushi dinner in the Los Comelones group-Costa Rica. He is a very humble person, and easy to talk to. I arrived in Austin planning on leaving on the 28th of April, I had such a great time there that I wanted to stay much longer. Trevor hosted me until the 8th of May. He is an interesting person. Clever, sensitive and generous. I really hope to meet him again and he could stay as long as he wants on my couch ;P

 

He is a world traveler always planning his other worldly voyages in everything he does. 100% fluent in Spanish and reads more books than I can count. He has filled his passport book up more than once and now they just keep stamping over old stamps. If he is looking to crash on your couch, have him make you sushi or a cup of mate. Great writer, very educated and could teach you something new guaranteed. I am always wondering what part of the United States he is in, his job puts him out there to teach others about travel. We need to plan a trip together soon!!

Trevor is a great resource for learning to travel the world. Trevor has the spirit of a Latin poet but the soul of a wanderer without being lost.I really enjoyed the time I spent with him and josh!

Trevor is so easy going it felt like I had known him forever. He excudes, kindness, gentleness and wisdom. I really enjoyed teaching him to cook New Mexican food and afterwards he cleaned my kitchen and made it sparkle! A joy to know.

 

What can I say, Trevor is awesome. I went up to Austin for ReggaeFest, and when things didn't go exactly as planned, Trevor swooped in to the rescue. We met up at the fest, and afterwards he gave me a ride back to my car so I could get my stuff and come to his awesome CS party (and boy he knows how to throw a good party). When it got super late and I was super tired (and fixin' to drive myself home), he insisted I crash out in the back room, which was a nice relief after a weekend of late nights. He truly has the CS spirit, and if you ever get the chance to chill with him, you won't forget it.

 

The guy has knowledge, experience, wisdom, and patience. He's never afraid to say it how it is. I'm proud to say I have both met and learned from him.

 

He is a really nice person, you can talk with him in perfect Spanish and many places because he travels, too. He was boyfriend of a friend and we share a lot time together, can I see about him you can spend dome time with Trevor and feel comfortable.

Although Trevor got high-jacked from being MY couchsurfer to being Helmingstay's couchsurfer, we got to chat it up over dinner and I fully approve of his good-natured hilarity. If you want, you can even call him Tony.

 

Trevor is a very polite couchsurfer - I wouldn't hesitate to introduce him to my grandmother! He has good stories, is knowledgable and energetic. We talked lots of Latin American politics, too :)

Trevor and I shared a perfect day in the anomoly that is Austin. He lives in a suprizingly un-texas like town that is filled with interesting suprizes. Trevor is a well traveled, articulate, and intelligent hip guy and I thoroughly enjoyed his company.

 

Trevor is something like the example of what a person should be, like, if I were and alien and were going to make people, I would make trevor.

 

Trevor had some very important projects to get done and he still found time to show me Austin by bike (amazing, although my weak lungs and legs almost couldn't handle it!) and hang out for tea/coffee/beer/pizza (not all at once). He's a great guy with awesome stories to tell and interesting plans for the future.

Trevor is a beautiful person inside and out! He took me on an amazing tour of Austin we found great music, great sights and even let me win a game of ping pong. He is full of surprises, funny, intelligent, and heaps of fun! The best compliment I can give is that staying with Trevor and Josh gave me a fresh perception on things and was loads of fun. He has inspired me to learn Spanish and I hope to meet up again with him soon!

trevor is a busy man, but he's very kindhearted and interested in the world and its inhabitants. he was super helpful trying to arrange my arrival in austin even though i must have called ten times with ten different plans. overall, a wonderful guy who i would have loved to spend more time talking to.

I met Trevor at a CS party in Austin and found him a really friendly, down to earth and interesting guy... and he very graciously offered us his couch for when we were coming back to Austin... unfortunately we got stuck and couldnt come back! A real shame because i was really looking forward to hanging with him again and i am certain he would be an amazing host.

Maybe it was the time spent in Austin, or maybe from traveling the world, but Trevor breezed into Nebraska and created our first real gathering since I've been a member. Hopefully we can keep that tradition alive. :) Thanks!

CS is successful because of people like Trevor. He is active both locally and worldwide and would be a great resource for travelers in Austin. I enjoyed hanging out and chatting with him and I'm sure we'll see one another a lot more through CS activities.

Trevor was a great guide around Austin and gives excellent directions. His couch and kitchen provide a space for soulful conversation and a wonderful palm tree breeze in the background.

i met trevor through joshua and he was extremely helpful with the bus routes in austin (hand written!) and i enjoyed my time with him, talking about traveling, his work and mine and watching a movie, testing out his culinary experiment with tofu (very good by the way)...im happy that we met and hes an awesome, full-of-information host.

Trevor was my first couchsurfing guest! He's so easy to be around -- I sort of felt like a bad host because it seemed like I'd known him a long time, like his being in our apartment was a common occurrence. And I wish it were! Trevor has more experience meeting new people than anyone I've ever met, and he's genuinely nice while he does it. He introduced me to spanish music not played by mariachis!

 

haven't surfed his couch- but i'm looking forward to when i do. trevor is sort of swanky w/ this rugged notion. his curiosity is contagious- hence great times no matter where he takes you. i recommend trevor's couch and personality.

trevor's like an international concierge: when he's not accommodating domestic travelers, he's reminding folks to use their passports. his sincerity, curiosity, and compassion are almost too big for the cozy austin apartment, but somehow he manages to make more than enough room for anything and anyone. cuz he's just awesome like that.

I have known Trevor literally since before I learned to read. I have come to consider him as one of my best friends and have been continually impressed with the interest and wonder with which he views the world and those in it. I had the oppurtunity to stay with him in Costa Rica and he was one of the most gracious hosts I can imagine. Plus, he's a boy scout so he can probably show you lots of cool knots.

 

Is my favorite travel mate. He is a good planer for travels, if you need to know how to do a trip cheap and fun ask him!!! Also he has a lot knowledge about Latin American languages, culture, politics and economy. Is the most humble person that I met. Good and faithful friend. Always worry or taking care for the people around him. Highly recommended!!!

First of all, I wish I could've been a better host or spend more time with Trevor but a weird week combined with excessive workload and a cranky landlady forced me to change plans the last minute. Fortunately, Trevor landed with a great local CSer and I managed to host him for one night before he left back for Austin. That one night (and multiple phone calls) served to show the quality of this guy. Shame on me for bad-hosting but I will definitely hit him up, as visiting Austin is in my near plans.

 

For the past few years I have been living vicariously through Trevor and his writing. There are at least 7 ideas running through his head at any particular time. Without him, it would have been easy to slip into the monotony that is the 'American dream' and cease to live an abundant life. Expect great things from him.

 

I hosted Trevor for 4 days. He is a very nice guy who just loves meeting new places and people. It was great having him over and we are already making plans for his return.

Trevor's got his head on straight and probably lots up his sleeve, but he's never in town to hang out when I emerge from my secret underground activities. Definitely a role model for the CS project and for good friendship.

Trevor was my first couchsurfing experience, through my roomie Lauren, Hostess Extraordinaire. He made us pasta, we drank lots of wine and went to a toga party. It was a memorably fun, comfortable, and funny night.

Trevor is one of the people I like to call non-american American. Good people who always have something interesting to say without sounding arrogant. Hard thing to find. Extremely hospitable, shared his empty flat with me for a few days, took me to San Antonio with is friends.. MADE ME ride a horrible bike, but I enjoyed it. Trevor and his friends (special thanks to Tony!) took me to bike parade, Helloween party, live jazz etc. It was an adventurous trip with adventurous guys. Trevor, come to Moscow sometime! You and Tony are more than welcome :)

Trevor was my first host in Austin and he made my arrival so smooth and comfortable. He is an avid couchsurfer, laid-back, nearly unflappable host, and has an intriguing book collection that I did not have nearly enough time to explore. One of the best hosts I've had as a surfer.

 

He is a very courteous and trustworthy person as well as a treat to hang out with!

I liked him. He was laid-back, easy going and honest. He listened intently, and advised sincerely.
He's a sensitive guy and doesn't intrude at all.

If you like to talk, and are any sort of human being, I think you will like him too.

Trevor shared South American music and travels, and he taught me how to ride a one person bike with two people! He was an excellent guest and I felt comfortable with him as soon as we met.

 

Trevor is laid back, helpful and he bought the fixings for dinner while he was here. Awesome guy if you get the chance host, surf, or travel with him.

Trevor is very helpful, considerate and an interesting person to talk to. He's got a great attitude about life and should do well in years to come.

Trevor is a really interesting guy and incredibly friendly. Not too hard on the eyes either. ;) He introduced me to some great music, showed me the wonderful world of torrent, shared his dinner with me and the guy kicks ass at Frogger. I highly recommend you host him should he ask, you won't regret it. Next time you're in Alb, please call, we'll go for beer! :)

Stayed at my place for 2 nights in September. Very warm open guy with a healthy perspective on life. I enjoyed our conversation about politics and religion.

Thanks to Trevor I now know that if I am mugged by gunpoint in Minagua, Nicaragua I am likely to have my passport returned if I ask for it politely. Definantly host him if you get a chance, he's a fun and gracious guest!

Trevor is surprisingly sweet-tempered ;) Really, he seems like a fantastic guy - I wouldnt hesitate to travel with, surf with, or host for this one!

I met Trevor at the first Austin-CS gathering. He's a nice and interesting guy who bikes an awful lot and knows a great deal about Latin America.

 

Trevor and his girlfriend welcomed us to their apartment in Heredia right after we had been robbed and in need of some friends. They were very generous and accomodating, allowing us to leave gear with them while we explored the Central Valley. Trevor loves both traveling and travellers, and is a great information resource as well as a great guy!

I just met Trevor through Mariana and was impressed by his fun, relaxed attitude and wealth of experience in Latin America. I look forward to hanging out with him at other CS get-togethers!

 

Mariana and he came and picked me up from the airport so I wouldn't get lost and had to wait a couple hours because my plane was late and I took a long time getting through the official stuff, but they were still smiling and holding up a sign for me!

Trevor's energy, optimism, & thirst for life are invigorating. Plenty of stories & ideas to keep you entertained and on your toes. I've shared a tent with him so I know he doesn't bite or scratch.

When he was studing in Guanajuato he toke acourse with me. Nice amd kind persons,but I guess he did not have the best impresion of the education of mexico because or profesor never attend to the classroo.. so sorry! Interesting person.. nice to find you again in CS

handsome guy yet not stuck up at all, trevor and i are the same age but he is already out of school and has a cool carrer. he eats A LOT! lol. very laid back, chill, has an experience living in costa rica, and speaks spanish, cool guy.

Met him in Las Cruces while staying at my friend's place....Love his spanish!!! A very nice person to talk to and alsO funnY......

 

Even though Trevor is relatively new to Austin, he took us to one of the top bbqs in Austin. He showed me the different districts in the city, from the east side to UT, Zilker park and other cool areas. It was a great introduction to Austin :) He's such a cool mellow guy and he really made my friend and I very comfortable at his place. Thank you so much for hosting us!

Trevor was an excellent house guest. I am currently enrolled in a Spanish class and he happens to be fluent in Espanol so we went to Volver. Come back again!

I’ve met plenty of Nebraskans and Trevor is definitely one of the coolest... very easygoing & friendly. We shared stories over dinner and a few beers... sorry the Helena Monday night bar scene couldn't him offer a more exciting birthday! I’d be happy to host him again anytime… and next time I promise there’ll be an actual couch to sleep on!

He may not be able to drive a stick shift but I wont hold that against him.
The first night I met him he took me to a Yacht Rock party. I still haven't recovered!

Trevor was a very kind, respectful guy. We played video games, got late night food, and he let me keep the beer we didn't drink. Nice guy!
