Jelena is first of all a beautiful person inside and out. She is so willing to help and kind. She even let me borrow her fur coat to wear to a costume party. She also helped me use the couchsurfing website and gave me great tips on how to choose a host and being safe and all that jazz. She also made the BEST crepes EVER....omg I have to have them at least one more time in my life!! I can't wait until our paths cross again...you are an amazing person.

Jelena is a bundle of fun. There is always something going on in her world and chances are very good that it will be a blast. I most remember going a little crazy on making costumes for Santa Con with her and everything possible getting stuck to her costume (which made me want to do the same with mine). Overall, she is sweet, outgoing, generous, likes to party, and is almost always have a good time at everything she is doing. Who could ask for anything more on a Saturday night?

We first met at the Paella 2007 and then reunited at the Paella 2008 in the Swiss countryside. Jelena is fun, fun loving, active, activating, inspired, inspiring and we enjoyed hanging out with her a lot.

As we've never been to Zürich and she has never been to Vienna I guess we'll either meet in one of those cities or latest at the Paella 2009 :o)

 

I met Jelena when we visited the folks at the Thailand Couchsurfing collective in March 2008 - What a sweet-heart! She is kind and out-going and a ton of fun. Fantastic to meet you Jelena!!

Jelena was practically the very first person I met from the collective when I arrived in Pai and the very last I saw when I left. It's funny how everyone on here has said how sweet she is (which she most certainly is) But what I noticed most was how unbelievably wise and worldly she was - she would talk about things most people take several life times to figure out and was always studying and learning new skills. I probably didn't spend as much time talking to Jelena as I should have - mostly because it was so interesting to simply sit back and listen.

 

"Help! I don't recognize anybody here" were about the first words of Jelena that passed on to me through Dule's phone. Does it matter? Sure not for her! I think the term "as sweet as pie" was created purely to describe this amazing girl! I had the joy of getting to know Jelena during the Thai Collective and she fast became someone I loved chilling out with on a very regular basis. She has the softest, kindest nature I have come across – she has a way about her that makes you immediately feel comfortable and at ease. I hope we have many more opportunities as our lives go on to continue the connection that has started – I adore you Jelena!

 

She's sugar and spice and all things nice...stunningly beautiful inside and out, smart, funny and worldly. You couldn't find a better host or surfer. She's a tremendous cook, and when you're sharing stories she'll make you feel like you're the most important person in the room. I can't wait until the day she surfs my couch in Wisconsin!

Stayed in a house that had a fur explosion in the living room and sorted out BM costumes. Quite a fun furry experience. She is very welcoming and open, sincere and smiling. Also ran into her at the airport...were on the same flight and didn't know!

This beautiful lady rescued us in Pai when all things looked grim. Her warmth drew us right in, and she made every effort to make sure we were all situated with a place to rest. After meeting her again in Vang Vieng, we realized for certain: She is a fantastic, caring spirit and we feel blessed to have met her. We hope to see you again soon!

She is this super sweet petite fairy with bright big blue eyes, who makes you feel happy and comfortable right away. I think she has a secret magic wand hidden somewhere, cause when she smiles and gives you some devoted attention, she's enlighting the room. I love her :-)

 

Jelena always seems to have the inside scoop on what's going on - diving right in and getting to know new people from every age and background. She's daring and seeking, constantly striving to learn. Quite inspiring, that lil miss bunny ears :o)

Where to begin - she's brave, boundlessly energetic, socially-adept and beautiful to boot! Plus, she loans out her adorable wardrobe to needy burners (I won't name names) on their way to a wedding! The girl ROCKS!

Her infectious enthusiasm rubs on to you. Having worked in a bookstore, she is very open-minded and has plenty of things to talk about. She has convinced me to go to Zurich if only to check out the amazing "5 star" squat.

Jelena was at the Nelson Collective and came wandering and source jumping and marae visiting and I hope she had a fine summer Down Under here... Hope you keeping well babe!

 

She and casey picked me up at the airport in Nelson and immediately made me feel welcomed - we spent time together doing a variety of things like shop to feed the hungry CSers, cut up photos to build a beautiful collage, dance around the fire on the beach in Kahurangi, and share a bottle of wine while pondering the mysteries of the universe - hope our paths cross again jelena!

 

Jelena seems like a really lovely, warm hearted and creative girl. The only reason I haven't put extremely positive is that we didn't get to spend enough time together to really get to know each other: We spent most of time cycling at full speed around the playa! Her friends speak so highly of her and I really hope we get to meet up again as I am sure we would get along fabulously!!

I never really leave a reference for someone that I've just met, but Jelena was just too cool not to :-) We spoke briefly on the phone by accident and I nearly hosted her and didn't. I was fortunate enough to meet her out at Revival though and got to talk with her. I'm sure we'll run into each other more in the future in our random travels :-)

I met Jelena my very first time doing a CS meet-up where we had a lovely lunch with fellow CSers and then spent the afternoon exploring Brooklyn. We share a fondness for exploring new places and beautiful shoes (danger!). Jelena gives this organization its good name!

 

She's just so fun, easy-going and very warm-hearted, it's very relaxing after an overdose of swiss mentality people. Her good mood is really contagious, I'll garantue you a really good time full of laughter when you'll host/or be guest with her. Think'll see you soon in Zurich, perhabs Berne?

Very cool person, kind of you like to meet when you are travelling and even when you are not. We shared some discussion about travelling, people and life in general. It was really cool, hope to meet you again my friend in Mars or in Switzerland.

When I first met Jelena, I thought she was Hillary's twin sister, very confusing. As I have gotten to know her better, I have learned that she is a very thoughtful person who knows how to keep life going as a sweet adventure. Plus, she really knows how to party and have fun. Everyone could gain something from her spirit and experience.
