Surrounded by mountains in the northeastern state of Nuevo Leon, Monterrey is an industrial city that is more than meets the eye. Get to the heart of the city at the Macroplaza, a huge open park in the center of the city that is home to the Faro del Comercio and the Museo del Palacio. Pop into one of Monterrey’s many bars to enjoy a refreshing beer from the local Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma Brewery, including Sol, Bohemia, Dos Equis, and Tecate. These are some of Mexico’s most popular beers worldwide, and you won’t find a more crisp bottle than right here in Monterrey.

Enjoy some time in the sun at Fundidora Park, a huge park featuring whimsical steel structures. Or stroll along the white pathways of Paseo Santa Lucia, following the edges of an artificial teal-colored river and dotted with water features and bridges. For a more vigorous outdoor activity, climb up to Cerro de la Silla, the iconic mountain peak overlooking Monterrey, for the best view imaginable.
