Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After a few months visiting some provinces of Vietnam as a backpacker, I decided to discover the world outside. I picked up Cambodia as my first destination and travelled along the country in two weeks.

It was the first time I had travelled alone. I had searched on the internet a lot about places I would visit but still felt worried. Then I found out CS and asked a member about travel information.

She replied me only once but I was very grateful for that. Going back to Vietnam, I realize that many backpackers may fall into the same situations like mine in Cambodia. So I join CS to help them as much as I can.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. All my trips as a backpacker to all places in Vietnam are amazing. If you want to discover Vietnam and have a ton of unknown things, just leave me a message and I will help you as much as I can.

2. In my trip to Cambodia, I decided to visit Preah Vihear temple by taking a minivan from Kampong Thom. This way is not familiar with most of tourists because they often pick up a trip to the temple from Siem Riep.

I had waited for more than one hour until one minivan arrived. The driver couldn't speak English but he understood that I wanted to go to Preah Vihear. Then he dropped me at a what-can-be-called station and said this was the last stop. I tried to say that I wanted to visit Preah Vihear temple but no one could speak English. I didn't know where I was and even rented a room in a guesthouse.

However, later I could take a shared taxi (with 5 other passengers in a 4-seat car) to the temple. How lucky I was!!!
