CouchSurfing Staffing Information 3481:34 Why: My most major contribution is that I used to run the CouchSurfing Camp (CouchBurners) @ Burning Man festival but I am looking for a role thats supports the wider CS community.
I travel all over (click here to see where) and could help with accommodation in many of the places I've travelled. Get in contact and tell us your stories! I have been known to travel for days covering thousands of miles just to have a beer with a mate. Wherever I am, I can show you where the bars are, places of natural beauty to walk through and some place to stay, probably in that order. As a tour guide, I'm no expert but I'll do my best.

How I Participate in CS
Firstly, I'm a Nomadic Ambassador and as such fulfill more than my expected list of duties. Almost every day I spend time promoting the CouchSurfing Project.
I am a keen "Burner" and for 4 years I organised the CouchSurfing Camp at Burning Man, we nickname ourselves "Couch Burners"!
I have recently taken on further roles in Regional Burning Man events across the world. Maybe you'll find me in Spain and Italy!
Finally, I'm ready to provide my time and expertise in Server Administration and other IT related issues when I am needed, or called upon.
CouchSurfing Experience
I was encouraged for some time to join this and other hospitality exchange websites; I resisted for quite a while, happy to hitch-hike around the world sleeping wherever I landed that night! Before joining the CS Project I left my home in Nottingham, England and began to travel. Some 3 years passed in which time many others, sometimes strangers, stayed in that home.
Now, its over 10 years on the road and I am still looking to travel to many other places. Although, a lot of my continued and permanent travel status involves visiting not only new places but re-connecting with the existing friends, whole families, located all over the world.

Teach, Learn, Share
I have found that explaining all of the quirks and safety features of this site helps to calm people who otherwise would have never used or joined the CouchSurfing Project.

Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org Project
I have been existing in my Nomadic Life by "word-of-mouth" - this should spread the word faster!
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.
My time with Dave was sadly too short. Sorting through what I gathered, however, I found to my delight a compassionate, giving and curious soul who isn't afraid to ask the big questions and to shove fear's push. I admire his determination and passion, and I look forward to meeting again soon. I feel there is much to learn. Go well. S
What a refreshing and inspiring guy! Great soul sharing on travels, matters of the heart and life. Thanks again for starting up my car and driving it to Montreal! see you soon.
Spikes is a great couchsurfer, and an all around cool guy. He has neat stories and the conversation was always good. As a surfer, he was very humble and expected nothing; he graciously accepted what we had to offer. We were happy to provide, and I'd host him again any day. I'd recommend meeting him if you get the opportunity.
He entertained my roomates with wild amazing stories, and was happy to entertain himself... didn't ask anything and eager to participate in the things going on in my place! I wish you more hitchhikes and good stories.
