To live life to the full. Life's too short for anything else!

ABOUT ME
I am in my early 70s and try to remain mentally active by staying interested in the world around me. I write and perform my own songs, volunteer my time at a local music venue, and I like to read, go to the movies, catch live bands, and spend more time than I should in front of my computer.

I maintain a travel themed blog at http://compleattraveller.blogspot.com/ although I no longer update it.

PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy is summed up with this quote:

I refuse to be pessimistic about the future. Despite all the chaos and fear in different parts of the world, I believe that we are all the same. I refuse to close myself off from the rest of the world. To mistrust, to hate, or to live in fear.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It wasn't called couchsurfing then, but many years ago I hitch-hiked across Europe, and had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful people, and staying overnight with complete strangers, who welcomed me into their homes. I would love to do so again, and to return the favor when I can.

Interests

Music, movies, songwriting, performing, cooking and eating, travel, reading, computing and the internet. Oh, and lately, I've been taking some long walks on the beach at sunset - highly recommended for everyone living close to the ocean.
