Couch Available: Maybe Preferred Gender: Any No smoking allowed Has children: No Can host children: No Has pets: No Can host pets: No Max Surfers Per Night: 2
Shared Sleeping Surface: No Shared Room: NoYou'll sleep in our living room which will not be used by us during your stay. So you'll have your own private room. we've got a couch that sleeps two people and an extra matress could be put into the room in case you don't want to share the couch :) I will be in New Zealand from Dec 2008 until May 2009.
**********************
I can offer you a very comfy couch which can be used as single as well as a double bed. I can accomodate two surfers if you don't mind sharing the couch or sleeping on an extra matress. We do have blankets and pillows, but with a sleeping bag you'd definitely be on the safe side.
I live in Kreuzberg, the heart of Berlin. It's in the centre and all the important and interesting places of Berlin can be reached in less than 30 minutes if you use public transportation.
I go to a professional school from monday to friday but I would offer you any spare minute to recommend must-sees or to show you around. If you need a "free guide" the weekends would be best but you can visit whenever it suits you.
I live with my mother and her husband who are both very attired in the idea of Couchsurfing. We don't have any pets and none of us smoke. Friends (5)

Personal DescriptionI'm the kind of person you would hate to be paired with in high school projects, but I would make an ideal friend for a nice afternoon. My mental capacity is somewhat limited which is due to my short attention span and lack of endurance. If something can't be explained or achieved in a few minutes I lose my interest. But apart from that I’m quite allright and very easy to get along with.
I play rugby and I'm very into sports and I spend a lot of time brushing up my knowledge about cartoons. (No, that's not mutually exclusive ;)
I’m a very extroverted and outgoing person. I love to travel and see as much of the world as possible.
I’m very eager to meet new people from all over the world.
CouchSurfing ExperienceI have just hosted people so far and it has always been a great experience. The people I've met were amazing. What do these numbers mean?
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you. References (6)6Positive 0Neutral 0Negative

From Ellie Glossop Melbourne, Australia Sep 17, 2008 Positive Astrid came to pick me up from the airport after a late night shift meaning she'd only had a few hours sleep which was very kind. THEN she even showed me around both to a few lesser known landmarks which was interesting, and also to the major tourist spots meaning I had an idea of the city before I set out alone which was great. Astrid is a dedicated couchsurfing host and I had a great time with her - she's very easy to chat to, and her family are lovely too. Staying with Astrid made my whole experience of Berlin so much easier, and very comfortable. Though she's a big rugby fan, I do hope to convert her to Aussie football if ever she's in town. ;)
From IRISHCALYPSO Waterford, Ireland (Republic of) Sep 12, 2008 Positive Astrid & her friends stayed for 3 days, they were great guests and even made dinner which was really appreciated. I would recommended them as lovely, trustworthy, independent people.
From Marlene Brücker Berlin, Germany Aug 13, 2008 Positive Astrid is a trustworthy, creative, sincere, lively person and a great host. I've known her for 7 or 8 years, have stayed at her home in Berlin several times and she's always been welcome to my home, too. She's a great cook, a patient city guide :D, and has a hilarious sense of humour. Whether we went to a club, to the Kreuzberg to stare at the night sky over Berlin and talk or just stayed in, we've always had good times.
From Aram Sebastien Aharonian Montreal, Canada Jul 3, 2008 Positive Although I am not sure I can compare with previous her CS experiences ;) i had a DANDY time with the famous Astrid! From walks down the Bergmann strasse which is a VERY cool street that Astrid lives close to...weiessbier...magic tricks...gay indian cocktail bars and much much more. You WILL have a good time with Astrid.
PS:Don't be fooled by her slight german accent...rhumour has it she may be IRISH.
From Cyeana Figueroa Scottsdale, United States Jun 21, 2008 Positive She was so kind to meet us at the airport when we arrived at 11pm, even though she was up since 5am. She gave us a great bed in the living room and made us one of her favorite dishes. She was busy with work/ school but she did her best to spend time with us and we really appriciated talking with her. It made Berlin all that much better. Her place was amazing and close to the train station. Made sightseeing easy.
From Justin Yeung Dubai, United Arab Emirates Jun 16, 2008 Positive It is the first time Astrid host people. She is super nice and sweet. It is my pleasure to be hosted by her. We have excellent talks over drink with her frined, Eva. She is enthusiastic in rugby. Thank you very much for showing me around the city even you are busy. Looking forward to seeing you again. Wish you a happy journey to Ireland in July.
