Matty Kime

Matty was a wonderful couchsurfing guest! He was gracious, independent, and easy to talk to. We had a lovely time meeting him and getting to know him, and he was certainly a great help in the kitchen during our asian potluck with our friends. He would be more than welcome back in our home any time he found himself back in Arkansas.

Matty is a very awesome person. He is very chill and goes with the flow very well. He is a self reliant guest who can wash the meanest of dishes. He showed me some really cool websites and music. He was a great guest, and we would host him again anytime.

Matty is a certainly a kindred spirit. Happy and free and a joy to be around!

Matty chilled at my student apartment and put up with my insane room-mates ^^ He's got some interesting stories to tell, and is a well-traveled and friendly person who seems eager to share his knowledge with others. He was helpful, courteous and just an all around pleasure to be around - good luck on your trip back down to the lower 48 Matty! ^_^

 

Matty is an amazing guy, full of life, and a top choice of companions for long camping trips! I've spent many days with him singing songs and playing ultimate. He is fun to be around, and a great leader.

Matt is an awesome guest and friend. Oh i forgot to mention he cooks outrageously good food while he's staying at your house!

Matty was great! Super respectful, smart, and a really awesome conversationalist. He was exciting to hang out with but also allowed personal space. He will also always have a place in my memory as being an integral part in the delivery of our kitty to her home.

Matty is an extremely nice and outgoing guy, always willing to help someone out, and always has a smile on his face :) He is also very interesting and can cook great veggie food!

Matty is a kind soul, who honestly gives from his heart, anything you might need! My kids very much enjoy his sincere company, and I'm very grateful to have been able to come into his presence.

Like myself, Matty enjoys drumming and connecting with fellow couchsurfers. Our two man drum circle was just what I needed to make the gathering complete.

Matty is a great host. His cooking is amazing and he knows all the best places to go in Memphis. I had a blast walking around downtown and drinking Kombucha (now I'm hooked). Matty is welcome on my couch any time!

I met Matty at the Couch Crawl. We didn't get to have in-depth conversations about politics and religion and the meaning of life, but I enjoyed his company and am looking forward to seeing him around in Memphis! Super nice guy.

I am so glad to met Matty last weekend, He organized the best CS meeting in Memphis since I arrived here, a great person and an excellent "Ambassador".
I think that fortunately we'll have more time to share in the future and organize more events/parties as the last one...

I tend to run into Matt in different places a lot- and I'm always glad that I did. A grade-A fellow for sure, and a very friendly one at that.

We like Matt! He's laid back and fun to talk to, plus he always brings tasties to the potlucks.

Matty and his partner stayed at our house in Cottage Grove one night during a gathering we were having :) They were on their way to train in Permaculture living at the Aprovecho Research Center. They were great guests and they made a pasta dish to share with everyone that was fantastic!!! They are sweet people with good ambitions :)

Matty is a killer cook ...Don't let his lameass lasagna recipe mislead you.

matty and monika are incredibly awesome individuals. they stopped by madison for a few days and easily fell into a community of local food activists, farmers, and beer drinkers. i enjoyed many conversations with them and learned a thing or two about starting co-ops, counterculture movements, and sweet farms out west.

i wish you two the best in the rest of your adventures!

Great experience! Monica and Matt were a pleasure to host. They cooked a delicious vegan meal for us and were really interesting to talk with and a pleasure to hang out with. Both really amazing people!

He and his housemates threw a really nice vegan bbq. The guests were a smathering of locals and surfers from aound the world. A great way to spend our one and only night in Memphis.

 

Matty is a great host and an interessting person with an independent mind. An elaborate sense of hospitality is only one of his extremly postive personality features.

 

Matt and all the people living at the collective are so generous and nice. It's like staying with family. Matt cooked a great vegetarian meal and we shared a few beers.

I first met Matt a few seasons ago, and have gotten to know him better as we have both gravitated towards the same collective family of Sanssouci in Memphis. With his vegan culinary degree, this guy will cook your socks off and feed them to you afterwards (assuming they're not wool). We salute you guy-who's-tall-enough-to-reach-the-top-shelves-in-the-kitchen-without-a-ladder.

Matt is cool!! Very smart and funny mister. He took us swimming in the middle of the night and cooked us some great vegan food. Bring yourself and the whole collective to Amsterdam!!

We stayed at the Sanssouci collective and had SO much fun! Really, this is the best way to meet the cool locals of Memphis. Matty was great fun, we played card games and drank wine from a 3 liter jar. Sorry we missed your yoga class, we oughta come back!

 

Matt stayed at my house in Omaha a while back. though i wasn't there a few of my friends were. I got a kick out of the similarities between Sanssouci and Hotel Frank when I surfed his couch in Memphis. great folks here. I really do hope i see them again.

 

Matt and Monica were a delight to host, and we got a fantastic meal out of it, too! Happy travels and keep on glowing.

I had a great time surfing at the Collective. Truly a haven for CSer's. Matty and the crew have a great house and many comfortable couches. If you aren't surfing with them in Memphis you should at least pay them a visit.

Matt was super-cool and he seems to have a lot of experience couch-surfing and traveling which he generously shared with us... Him and Monica are our kindred spirits and we shall meet again, that you can count on (maybe it will be in OLY this time!!!)

matty welcomed me on short notice and showed me the essence of Sanssouci; communal cooking, sharing stories and barefoot dance parties. couldn't ask for anything more!

Very nice guy, we both seem to be into many of the same bands, anyone who knows little wings and adrian orange is a friend of mine.

 

staying at sansoucci was a blast and i felt very comfortable; matt gave us awesome suggestions for stuff to do around town and was a great host!

What a nice guy! He was one of those who inspired me to plan my trip cros country instead of just talking about it. He is genuine and I am only sorry I din't get to spend more time with him. Perhaps our paths will cross again. One can only hope. Happy travels!

 

Matt is a very cool guy with a lot of depth. Clear, direct, goal oriented, and a whiz in the kitchen. My only regret is that my own schedule didn't give me more time to get to know him. Happy parading Matt!!!

For as long as I've known him Matt has been number one at making fun and friends come together and will no doubt show a couch surfer the most interesting/exciting parts of any place he calls home. Kid's got charm by the gallon.

Matty was a great time, told me about his tattoos, shot some pool, ate some free chips and salsa and popcorn (all mixed together), and imparted his wisdom. Overall he was a totally cool dude and I'd welcome another visit from him!

Matty and Monica were so much fun and Matty is a culinary genius. I wish I could have spent more time with him, but my roommate was hosting more than I could.

Matt, his sister, and their group of friends at the collective are great people. We had a good time in the park playing frisbee and hack. I also had a lot of fun just hanging out and getting to know them at sansuocci.

The arrival of Matt (and Monica) created yet another awesome chapter in my hosting experience. Matt could have a future as a bad-ass cage fighter with his grizzly beard, height (6’ 5”!) and bad ass tattoos, however, he’s super mellow, super hilarious, super vegan and super fun. We had an awesome time at the March CS Indian dinner throwdown, toured the city, drank a bunch of brews and then some. He even cooked a ridiculously tasty dinner for the entire house—like a vegan Emeril, this one is. Host him and you’re bound to have an amazing experience!

 

Matt was very nice. We met at another surfers house and had a lot of fun from the beginning we also met up the next day at a surfers diner and had a blast there. I would love to host him next time he comes around and maybe pierce him like he asked ;)

Matt made some awesome vegan nachos and was the only other person to finish Labyrinth with me. That alone shows how great he is! Haha. I wish him well on his upcoming travels and hope he makes it out to San Francisco.

met through a friend, didn't hang out a ton, but we went to a party, drank, etc. he was instantly friendly and a lot of fun. :)

 

Matt is a damn fine chef of the vegan variety, soon to reveal the yumms to the world. A master of blanket acquisition. Their house is awesome and active and I'm sorry to have left so soon.

hmm a snow storm, a tofu diner, two dogs and yeah a serial time for sure. Good people who are now heading out for well for "years" they say. Oh well had a interesting time slept well on a couch and got to see an american stereotype in real life yes the american drinking out of a paper bag with his or her malt liquer. Yup cant beat that kind of experience good luck in your travels, hope to repay your hospitality if your ever in vancouver my friends!

 

i had so little time in memphis, i really would have liked to stay a couple of day more. anyway it was great fun. see you another time.

Matt is an incredible guy who could cook anyone out of the water! Him and the rest of the sanssouci guys are people that everyone should meet. I can't wait to see them again in Europe.....or wherever!! Good times my friend.

Matt, along with the rest of the Sanssouci collective, embodies the spirit of Couchsurfing extremely well. With an unlimited amount of hospitality, guests are made to feel at home from the moment they set foot in the door. Matt and I had the opportunity to talk about Memphis, traveling, and a little about the specifics of raw foods. I fully recommend hosting, surfing with, or giving a lift to Matt.

More recently, Matt and I have shared trivia tables a few times and he's proven himself strong in many mental arenas. Glad to have you back in Memphis!

I really liked how active Matt and his friends are in the community. It's comforting to know that our generation is willing to be proactive. They introduced us to a lot of extremely nice people. I only wish we could have stayed a little bit longer to get to know them a little bit better!

Matt is really chill and a great cook. everyone in the house was very hospitable, and they took us out to lunch one afternoon. I really enjoy his way of life and how they open their house for good causes such as 'food not bombs'

 

I only stayed 2 days at Matt's place, but I had great fun; it's a very cool house and everybody has been very friendly. I just wish I could have stayed longer to know them better...

I haven't had many interactions with him, but he is the ex-bf of one of my best friends, and she's got good taste and a heart of discretionary gold. I would definitely let him surf on my couch.

I met Matt while surfing in Memphis. We played a wicked game of trivia and had a good time.

Matt seems like a fantastic traveller - always willing to look for the meaning in a place. I ride bikes with him several times a month and its always a grand adventure.

I wish we could have hang out more together...see you in Hungary!

Matt razzles and dazzles. He'll knock you out with his wizardly ('Kimerical')non-chalantness. His beard speaks volumes. His girlfriend and sister adorn the house with arty flair. I hope we wind up hanging out more in the future.

He gave me contacts of people in Washington, partied well, and gave me lots of good tips.

I passed 3 chill days in Memphis with Matt and Mary... Matt I love your juke box and I wish you the best for your record store...

Matt and the entire crew were beyond awesome-- totally made my time and Memphis unforgettable.. I miss them all very much and hope to see them again soon!
