About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to see the world!

ABOUT ME

"I walked with eyes on my foot, watching every step carefully afraid that I am going to miss my step and hit the rock covered with green moist moss. I looked up trying to grasp fresh air and saw a pointy snake coming in my direction. I tried to shift my body away only then I realised it was a vine that scared the shit out of me. I heard chattering from distance but as I trekked deeper into the forest the faint noise seems to propagate from every direction coming nearer to me ... ... Few hours later, I saw a beam breaking through the end of trail. As I moved towards it an immediate cool breeze entangled my hair - I know I am close to water. Finally I saw it. Ocean that glitters from the sun illuminating the earth. Unique rock formation by the side complete with white sandy beach. This is Borneo, where I call home."

Born and raised in Kuching - the largest city in Borneo and also in Singapore. Love to do hiking casually, sip a good coffee in free time or chill out by the beach with a can of beer. Did I mention that I am also an Apple geek? I am obsessed with Apple products with a bitten apple logo just because I craft for perfectionism as what the Apple's philosophy holds.

I got my itchy feet after meeting two Germans sitting next to me in the same flight back home to Kuching (from Singapore) during one of the study breaks. They started the conversation by asking me direction from the airport to the city center. As a gesture of goodwill I drove them to save the hassle of taking public transport (which literally doesn't exist in Kuching *correct as at 2013). We became friends and I showed them Kuching from a local perspective during for the next few days after we met. They inspired me that travel is not just about joining tours and book in to 5 star hotels. Now I find traveling a good way to widen one's horizon as I blend in to the beauty of the diversified cultures that the world has to offer.

PHILOSOPHY

I once used to spend money to fulfil my materialism guilt - to buy things I don't need but want.
Now I choose to be rich in experience - I want to fill up the rest of my diary with travel memos I collect from every tiny corner of the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share

The world is huge globe. And the long history of the human trace on earth has left us with a rich heritage of language. I am fortunate enough that I was brought up under the Malaysia education where it made me compulsory to pick up three languages since elementary school until I finished senior high school. That was 11 years of English, Malay and Chinese Mandarin. I am proud to say that I can almost speak, write and read fluently in these 3. Most of the time I find English and Chinese the most useful as one being the lingua franca of the 21st century whereas the other as the most widely spoken language in the world. I get greedy when I discover the power of being multilingual, I just can't get enough of it. Now I am picking up German very quickly and planning to start Spanish and French as well. If you are interested to learn my language or you are good at the language that I wanna learn. Why not we do a language exchange? Of course don't restrict yourself to the languages just mentioned!
