Personal Description
I'm a tall, geeky gay guy. Love travel, hiking, and immersive adventures.
How I Participate in CS
Right now I'm not sure. If I move into a 1BR, I could have a couch...
CouchSurfing Experience
All my couch surfing has been the old-fashioned way, connecting with friends through friends. My first road trip to the big city of new york.. my first time to burning man.. my first time in Tokyo..
I avoid these kinds of questions, and just try to enjoy and make the most of it all. Generally I try to do the right thing, plan big adventures, and always keep moving forward in one way or another.
Music, Movies, Books
Because my education was so technically-oriented, I've been able to *discover* the liberal arts on my own. Right now I'm halfway through Moby Dick, for example.
Types of People I enjoy
All kinds? Everyone has a life story, and everyone has a sense of humor, and everyone has lessons to share. Positive, open, fun, thoughtful, bizarre.. those are all good things.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can show you some basics about how to train the body to move efficiently and "correctly".. main applications are martial arts, sports, and dance.
I'm also really good with computers *sigh* :)
One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done
I hiked the Appalachian Trail in two sections. I was in my mid-twenties, and picked up some great life lessons that have stuck.
Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org Project
CS is a terrific use of the internet. I love the *idea* of de-commercializing travel, and the *fact* that people are generally interesting everywhere.
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.

Tom is a quality individual. It was good meeting at Hagey's pre-burn and then seeing him a bunch in the CS camp there! Tom I think I might still owe you 5 for the shopping you did pre-burn. See you!
