About Me

ABOUT ME

I am a curious, creative, cheerful and an open-minded idealist who is passionate about many things in life. I love creating and improving society in my own small various ways, for instance by creating music that gives people time for reflection and peace in their minds, introducing new perspectives when talking with people or by for instance working as volunteer. Last year I was working in St Petersburg, Russia but have now moved back to Stockholm where I am working for a NGO. I really enjoy meeting people, different kinds of people and like the saying "A stranger is a friend you have yet to meet".. :)

I have a twin sister, Anni, and we have loads of fun experience in tricking people, old teachers etc into believing we are the other person. Very convenient at times and still can be ;) I have also grown accustomed to people I've never seen before coming up to me either giving me a hug or continuing a discussion about something I've never heard about before.

PHILOSOPHY

Not to take anything in life too seriously - life is too important for that! :)!

Interests

I love playing my Kantele, which is a 38-stringed instrument that comes from Finland. I go performing with the Kantele at and give concerts together with my mother and my sister. So far we have been touring in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Ireland and Russia.

I also love hearing about other people's adventures and life stories, people are generally really fascinating and have so many interesting stories to tell if they are just listened to.

Another great interest of mine is spending time out in the nature, it doesn't matter what it is just as long as it is outdoors. It might be for instance picking blueberries and lingoberries, trekking, kayaking, sailing, skiing, ice-skating or camping. As long as it is outdoors I'm sure I'll enjoy being there. At times it is nice to spend some alone time and other times I prefer being in the company of awesome friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skiing and wintercamping on the beautiful glaciers of Svalbard in Norway was a breathtaking experience. Another really nice memory was when I was out sailing with good friends in the Stockholm archipelago and we experienced every kind of weather possible, from sunshine to rainy storm. Despite the rough weather at times there were so many laughters and songs sung. A third valuable memory of mine are all the times I've been working as a camp leader and seen how the children and teenagers have grown and developed in the space of a few days up to a couple of weeks.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you are into music I can teach you how to play the Kantele and the Cello. The Kantele is a Finnish string instrument with 5-38 strings and it is possible to play anything on it. I love it and have inspired many people to feel the same ;) If you like singing I can also teach you some Swedish or Finnish songs. If music isn't really your field of interest I could teach you how to knit something or make Karelian rice pastries so called "Karjalan piirakka". I also know lots of games and love playing them and if you are interested, I can teach you some. If you stay at my place in Sweden and we go sailing with my small sailing boat I'd be happy to teach you how to sail.

I would love to learn more about your country so please tell me anything from your country :)! Like what's an average Joe's life like, what kind of traditions and norms exists, what does the political or civil life look like etc etc. I would be happy to learn a song or a game from your country or if you have a special field of interest, I'm curious to find out about it as well. I love playing soccer but am not very good at it and would be glad to learn some tricks.
I am at the moment learning Russian, if you would like to we could have a tandem - i teach you Swedish, English or Finnish and you help me with my Russian.

If you are interested in psychology, leadership, philosophy, civil society, social sciences we could share some thoughts and ideas around these fields as I am also interested in these areas. I really like jokes and would be fun to share jokes and humourous stories about different kinds of experiences from life. I am also happy to share different stories from travels in various countries.
