Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to host people who really believe in the idea and concept of Couch surfing. Would recommend if you have been travelling in India for a while,it could be 1.2,3 or 6 months, and have not couch surfed in smaller cities and places in India, because its cheap staying in a guest house or hostel, sad to say this you have missed out capturing the true local essence of the place, people food, clothing, language, touristy places in India

Remember where there's will and a believe you will find a host any where.....

List of prices a traveler would love to know in Mumbai:
Transport costs
Minimum cost of bus ride is 10rs in a red colored bus.
Minimum cost of rickshaw or tuk tuk is 15rs for the first 1.5 kms and then after the rick fare will not be standard rs. 15 for 1.5 kms. In night which is 12 midnight to 6am the fare would be rs.19.

Taxi fare(non-ac) is similar to rickshaw or tuk tuk around 21rs and in night it is 25rs. However they may refuse to work on meters sometimes. Off late the cab drivers and rickshaws drivers have become very rude and refuse to work for short distance.

Local trains are very cheap and it will not cost more than 20 rs for a long distance journey. Mumbai has 3 train line namely Western, Central and Harbour.

Junk food cost will vary according to location:
Vada pav : 10-15 rs
Pav bhaji : 50-90 rs
grill sandwich : 40-100 rs
shawarma : 100-130 rs
coffee at coffee shops : 65-180 rs
butter chicken : 120 rs and on wards
Chicken tandoori : 130 rs and on wards
Chicken momos (Special delicacy of Tibet) : rs. 80

Alcohol is expensive in Mumbai as it attracts 25% tax with VAT 12.5 % and some places may add service charge and service tax as well.Best bet would be to pick it up from a wine store, and have a drink with your couch surfer

Kingfisher pint(330 ml) will start from 130 rs to 450 rs. Imported beers will be more than 200 rs anywhere.
Whiskey and scotch will be more than 200 rs onwards for a small peg. Always look for happy hours and all the discount prices will be for domestic liquor.

Recommended Beer brands : Kingfisher mild, Ultra and strong, Carlsberg Elephant and Budweiser.
