ABOUT ME

We're a couple that recently gave up comfortable but boring office jobs and decided to embark on an adventure of our lives. We have a plan to cycle as much or as little of the world as we find enjoyable. So for the duration of the trip we won't be available to host anyone but we'll be looking forward to host cyclists and other travellers once we return and settle back.
We're both non-smokers, love animals and hope to meet many interesting people who share our passion for nature and adventure.
This will be our first touring trip but hopefully not last.

UPDATE: We are unfortunately no longer travelling by bicycles :( This have been left in Greece. Geoff suffered an injured knee which prevented him from cycling, so we had some decisions to make. We decided to go to Crete first and move slowly across Asia by bus and train, then the next day we changed our minds and thought we would like to travel around Australia and so the day after that we booked our tickets to the USA! It's a loooong story....

PHILOSOPHY

Life is too short to waste it by doing something you don't enjoy. If you're lucky and privileged enough to do what you love - just do it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We're relatively new to CS and found out about it while researching our own trip. So far we have only been surfing and meeting some amazing people along the way. We are already looking forward to repaying all the good faith that we have experienced by hosting weary travelers when we finish our adventure!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have stayed with people from all walks of life but they all have one thing in common: they make our trip all the more special and unforgettable. We would probably still couchsurf if hotels were free!

Interests

The main biggest passion for both of us is of course travelling. We also enjoy outdoor activities like cycling, skiing and trekking.
Monika also loves photography and baking. Geoff enjoys DIY and is currently researching how to build our very own straw-bale home for when we finally decide to settle somewhere.
We also love animals and hope to open an animal shelter at some point in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books

We love watching movies, from cartoons, some good action and drama, to old classics.
We enjoy reading just as much, if not more, mainly travel books (Bill Bryson), but also Grisham, Wilbur Smith and anything really that has a good story (like Jose Saramago's Blindness or good old HP).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Iguazu Falls on both Argentinian and Brazilian side - breathtaking beauty of nature.
New Year in New York - the atmosphere, the city, the coldness!
Whitewater rafting in Costa Rica - amazing experience, thrill, beautiful place.
