I am a Danish girl from Copenhagen, who is by nature very adventurous and curious about the world. I grew up backpacking in Europe in the summer with my family, going camping, cycling through Scandinavia, and traveling just with my sister at 15 years old. All of those experiences sparked my interest in traveling, but I truly started at 18 when I moved to China in 2012 to teach English for half a year, followed by a 7-month trip all over Asia all by myself, avidly using Couchsurfing as a guest and to meet amazing people.
I have since then gone to Colombia for a semester abroad and worked a year in Mexico. Following my Asia trip I was quite active on Couchsurfing using it when I went on trips during my bachelor's degree, but then following starting to work full time and the pandemic I've not been active for a few years, but I want that to change :).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing first to meet people when I moved to China in 2012! And it turned into a lifestyle following my 7-month solo trip across Asia where I used it to find hosts and meet cool people. It is truly the best way to experience traveling by meeting locals. I am also always up for giving travelers advice about travel in Denmark and meeting up :)

Interests

I am very interested in history, especially the cold war era, and I always try to inform myself about the history and culture wherever I travel to. I love reading and I usually read 1-2 books a week, and I find reading biographies of women in the countries where I travel to be a very interesting way to learn about a country's history through the lens of an individual. I also like reading comics and drawing, which has been my passion since I was a kid. Furthermore, I like cooking, spending many hours every week in the kitchen, especially making Asian food. I am also a very active person who likes hiking, yoga, running, swimming, and weight lifting.

I especially love fantasy, historical fiction, literary fiction, and also delve into sci-fi.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being a volunteer in China is one of the best and most exciting experiences in my life. I've really enjoyed meeting a new culture, a new language, and meeting people. The trip has definitively changed me as a person and I feel I've learned a lot about my own country after living in a place that is so different.
Furthermore, my trip to Iran, Cuba, and Georgia was also excellent.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about danish history, politics, culture, and language! I also speak Spanish and Russian. I can make danish deserts and christmas decorations! And also due to all of my travels I would say I know many things about countries history culture etc :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

When I am surfing at a host's place I am up for really getting to know the person and sharing stories. As I am a very talkative person by nature, I can share many stories from living and traveling across the world, especially about the Danish society. I always like learning about other people's cultures.
