Frank van Steenwijk

Frank is really into CS. I believe he just love the project and treat everyone the best way he can. He has a lot of games at home and we played very much and had great time together. He took us to a tour around Rotterdam what was GREAT!

The stay at Franks home was nice. Although he has a lot of strange things there and the couch on which I was sleeping was not so comfortable, everything else was great. He is a very good host. Me and my friends even got a tour around Rotterdam. That was a truly fantastic tour. A thousand thanks for Frank!

It is hard to add something new to the huuuuge list of positive references of Frank, but i'll try :)!
If you are looking for a place to stay in Rotterdam, Frank is totally one of those people you should meet. He is very talkative, easy-going and open-minded and it is really easy to find things to speak about!
And besides, he has table for billiard in his house! What else you can desire for ;)?

Frank is very open and talkative. We`ve met at my friend`s party. I `ve got the impression that he loves meeting people.

frank let me stay at his place very last minute and then invited me to stay even longer if I would want to. I wish I had the time to do so because he's a really awesome guy, and even in just the one night there we ad some amazing conversations, and he even gave me the grand tour of Rotterdam the next day. To sum it all up, Frank is a really amazing host, and I really hope i get a chance to see him again sometime soon.

I met Frank during the Sinterklaas party and, conisitenly, it was one of the best party I've ever involved. Frank is really open-maind, friendly, helpful person, in other words, just a miracle :), I think everyone who had an interface with him had a positive experience and good time. And I'm sure we will meet each other again because Holland is small after all!

I totally respect this guy!you know why?cause Frank hosted for 2 weeks my good friend being homeless.We found other common point that is our mutual friend Baptiste.Im just wondering how the world is small!Despite the lack of my time,i appreciated Frank not only as a nice guy with nice character and warm heart (im pretty sure!:) but also

Frank is a cool dude. Finally we've met in Rotterdam after having seen his face many times on Maastricht meeting pages but never came to the point of actually meeting him and having a totally weird msn conversation, confused him with another Frank :)

Frank is one of the most active Rotterdamers CSs and we've met several times at meetings/parties. It's always good to talk with him and it's just a matter of time and opportunities for our friendship to became closer. I dont know about "serious" conversations.. :)

Frank is one of the greatest couchsurfers ever! Not that he is only meeting all travellers' expectations and wrmly welcomes anybody "at home" - but he is the one being most crazy about couchsurfing i ever met! Couchsurfing truly became his life - and that one can feel being hosted by him :-)

 

Met frank in Rotterdam for his sinterklaas meeting that he has (sub) organized. it was a great success. frank is a gentle person, so he offered his couch/place for 7 people. although it was a small place, we all managed to sleep comfortably. when i come to Rotterdam frank, i definitely contact you again. cya bro !

Frank was a host that saved me in Rotterdam. Myself and another friend were given space in his place even though he had no room. He still found some floor space and took us out on the town. Good guy, CS dedicae (if thats a word).

I'm glad I hosted Frank. He came to Vienna as part of his take-pics-of-the-Euro08 trip and it was really interesting to see how he looked at the whole football-fan stuff going on all around us. He told me all sorts of things and even let me play with his camera. I like how he trusted me, we talked quite a lot and also went out partying together. He's a very kind person, very open to the world and he has a good heart.

 

Frank is like the perfect host. Nice he hosts so many surfers at the same time, so I could talk about their CS experiences. I'm new to this kind of travelling and I loved it.

YEAH, first THX for these experience to me of a new kind. I did not have any other host before where other travellers stayed at the same time...so we got a actual meeting at your house of CSer in fact, too. Which is was with 8 surfers larger than many other meetings. Therefore people will see you are one of the true CSer/ ambassadors of couchsurfing who puts a lot of his time in this to keep it running.

Frank, I had somewhat quite rough days during this weekend, i hadn't expected before you know!! =) I soo needed to rest one day from these 3 days of boozing and conquering r'dam hard. I liked it.

Well, we got to know each other quickly and think we pretty much enjoyed each other companies, didn't we? I really appreciate that you spontaneously went with us out on friday evening, although you didn't want to go in first place. but that's what i appreciate one of the most, coz im that same spontaneously, crazy too. keep partying hard until we see each other again groeten Rensen

I surfed Franks couch for three days in rotterdam. this was my first couchsurfing experience and i can really say i didn't regret it!! Frank is a very nice person. Together we went out to drink and have fun in the inner city. So therefore best for you and thanks for hosting me.

 

Frank is great, he was very helpful about the trip of me and thomas.I tried to surf his couch, but his place was starting to be to crowded. So i figured out that there would be not enough space for everyone, so i decided it would be a better idea to surf another couch. But thanks anyway Frank for everything and i'm sure we will meet up in future again :-)

 

Frank, he is the perfect boyfriend for your sister! (?). I met his brilliant empathic look, at the CS tribe, and really a good "wave" from him.

Frank was very outgoing and he introduced me and my friends Aleks and Gergios to other couchsurfer. He tried to make us involved with the group. We were very happy to meet him and the other couchsurfers. Maybe we can meet again in Rotterdam, in Groningen, or why not in Italy, when I have to come back there!

I met Frank via via some other people on the Rotterdam meeting, well Frank is like the ubermaster of couchsurfing when you see his profile:-) But that could not have been if he hadn't been such a nice guy and a great organizer, so he brings people together, and thats a very cool thing. Well indeed we havent had real long conversations, maybe this saturday but I think it will be more beertalking :-D I will not fall asleep on the couch on a saturday again :-D

We were supposed to have met during the EM in Austria to support the Clockwork Orange, but unfortunately we didn´t make it. He saw I was going to Rotterdam in October and invited me to his place. We talked a lot about football and I´m glad I had the chance to talk to someone who really likes and understands football. He also helped me to discover the windmills park and one brewery in Rotterdam... and we even went to a party together with other of his CSrs and friends. I believe we will met again, even before South Africa 2010!

Frank is in love with couchsurfing as well as meeting people; obviously a strong point. The last I knew of he was going to host over ten people after I left, and was willing to do so comfortably. Although I wish I had known more about football to discuss with him, he was ridiculously accommodating. He made me feel at home the whole time I was there, and hopefully he'll make it to wherever I am so I can reciprocate. Come meet up with Frank; he'll show you a good time.

Frank's house is a collector's paradise. If you ever go there, and I highly recommend you to, you'll know what I mean. He took us for very tasty turkish food in Rotterdam in the middle of the night and then he took us home; he has a very friendly, laid-back attitude and makes you feel like home and his curious nature offers room for very interesting conversation. Too bad our stay with him was so short!

Yes it was nice evaluating CS with Frank... The good things and things that could be better. But also in general its nice to have a chat with him, for sure I can recommand him as a host...

 

Frank was a fun and very patient roomie - he waited quite a long time for me to get home (inside, of course) and was still happy to see me and have a 2-hour conversation with me :-) We (my roomie Susi and I) enjoyed spending time with him - mainly inside unfortunately, due to the weather - and I'm proud he cut his very first onion in my kitchen :-D I'm sure we'll meet again sometime!

Frank was a little shy at first, and I think he was told by AM to behave! As I got to know him during my stay, he has been more talkative, hospitable and is like a brother to me. I tease him all the time and know that we can trust and confide in each other.

..because Frank was wearing a shirt with his name on it.. I was able to find him in the crowd of wild Rotterdamer's :) Great to meet you, looking forward to the next one!

Was introduced by Tara, my daughter, at a CS Rotterdam meeting. What a lively evening that was! It was a great opportunity to meet local CSers and fellow travelers. Enjoyed some conversation with Frank about his recent travels to Paris (a favorite of mine). You are always welcome if you find yourself in Wisconsin.

After more than 1 year it's the highest time to update this comment:) I met Frank for the first time during dance parade in R'dam in 2007, he come with his photograph friends! After that time there was period of 'silence' between us and then we refreshed our contacts. I can say that today Frank is one of my closest friends and I really trust him in everything! We spend great time not only parting but also supporting each others as friends and having normal long&deep talks..He has such a big heart and he's very open and warm person with very soft side. He's open to people and easygoing + he's home is always full of CS:)- If you gather he's friendship you are lucky.

Frank seems to a very nice, caring and relaxed guy. We're definitely gonna hang out more with some fellow Rotterdam CS'ers (when Frank is'n't playing badminton and when I am not working on my thesis, for instance :-).

 

As soon as I get internet, I will write something better ;-)

But he is a great guy and has a great house full of games!

Frank is a real couchsurfing spirit, always willing to meet new people, always willing to help. We had a couple of parties here, in Rotterdam. And I still owe him a beer ;)

frank was one of the first people i emailed when i found out that id be doing a masters program in rotterdam. he was extremely helpful from the beginning and i certainly ended up bothering him with my numerous emails before we actually got to meet each other in person at cafe boudewjin.

frank, im sorry for all the questions and requests i sent you. you know i didnt have a good start in rotterdam, but as olivier said "things can only get better". im sure we'll finally start talking to each other more regularly and not just via email. see you at the meeting on tuesday? :-)

Frank is probably one the most patient people in cs - i stayed at his place for 2 weeks and he didn't kick me out before i left myself! :) Really great and easy going guy with a flat full of games (really good for long evenings). At first Frank seemed a bit strange, but later on I saw that he is a very good person. He hosted us, gave us advices on everything, gave a very interesting tour around Rotterdam and trusted us. Frank was the first person to respond to my question on a group post and then masterfully directed me where to meet up even though I could get lost in a shoebox. He introduced me to other Rotterdam CS'ers and I plan to meet up at more events in the future.

 

Frank is a nice guy and an excellent host. I stayed at his place for 3 nights and met some other couchsurfers during the Summer Carnival in Rotterdam.

If you like to play pool, then you should visit him (he has his own pool table) but be aware of not betting with him, because you could find yourself loosing 5 euros, just like it happened to me ;)

I surf franks house for 3 nice nights, i met a lot of people because was the latin carnaval and frank was so cool.

Frank was an awesome host, and a good guy in general to hang out with. He gave me and another surfer a custom tour of Rotterdam and hung out with a lot even though he had to work during the week. He's very knowledgeable about Holland and can give you some good recommendations as well. All in all, it was an excellent experience.

 

Frank is one of the crazy dutchies that invaded Switz during the Euro :) It was great fun to see him actively participating in the CS weeknd and other meetings. And waving his proud orange during the games, and standing proud after the Dutch finally lost to the Russians.

Frank is a Rotterdam CS enthusiast. Very friendly and good sense of humor. Im sure we are going to hangout a lot as Rotterdam CS-ers!

We met at a local meeting and got to talk about photography. Frank seems eager to develop (pun intended) in this area so we have a nice shared interest.

I enjoyed our conversations at the weekly meeting then met up the next day to see some football festivities. He still wanted to hang out even though I made him wait 2 hours in the cold and rain. I forsee some more billiards in our future!

We just met for a few minutes, I cannot really say anything about this person. However, the first impression was OK.

we surfed frank's couch for 2 nights on our luxembourg/belgium/holland-trip.even if we are two completely different persons we could talk about lots of stuff and we even realized that he knows some of my friends in berne because of couchsurfing. he showed us around in rotterdam, served us breakfast on his pool-table (even some traditional dutch food) and took us to the weekly rotterdam couchsurfing-meeting. thanks for all that.

Frank is indeed a great bicycle-chaffeur! I met him at Birgits farewell party just after I arrived in Rotterdam being welcomed with open arms.

 

Frank was the first person to contact me to stay during the Euro 2008. It was great to host such an enthusiastic football fan during the games! We wandered the streets in Orange receiving many cheers of "Hopp Holland" :) He designed his holiday to support Holland and to visit the host cities. Frank is caring and sympathetic. He fit right in to the the Zurich CS crowd, joining us for and evening out to watch the games and even encouraging other CSers to join us!

Frank was kind enough to host me in Rotterdam, which I learned is the most awesome city in The Netherlands. He took me to a CS meetup in the city center and showed me around his neighborhood plus he let me win a few games of pool. Best of all, he bought us some beers. And beer is good.

Thank you Frank for having me at your place. For showing me Rotterdam and for teaching me how to play pool table:)) As my host I always wanted you to win:))) I really enjoyed Rotterdam and it`s orginality. As I say to everyone - World is small, so probably see you somewhere there. Go Feyenoord!!!

Frank was so nice to show us around Rotterdam. We also got to do his tour around town, which he designed especially for a CS-event and all his other couchsurfers.

Frank stayed at my place during the EM08. He did his big couchsurfing tour and I was happy to host him. Eventhought Frank and me are pretty different persons (as far as i can tell), we had a very good time. He sent me an email about the post I left in the Rotterdam-group. I was plesantly surprised. So when he reminded me of the weekly CS meeting in Rotterdam, I immediately dicided to go! Also met him the day after at a spontanious couchsurf meeting. We had nice conversations. He's a really enthousiastic couchsurfer!

Frank was very kind to us.He hosted the four of us, plus another couchsurfer for a night and we had a brilliant time. Hey thanks for the add, i met Frank because he was the Isa CS´s guest that weekend in Vienna (EURO08), He is really talkative guy, we went to get some drinks @latin bars around Wien, i hope we can meet again maybe Rotterdam! greetings!

I saw Frank unfortunately only once in Vienna while he was couchsurfing with Isabella, say unfortunately cause I wish we could of hang out more. It was a pleasure to have him around at the Triple Party and ohh he is a great photographer! only that I always runnaway from such great-deep lenses hehe, maybe will visit him in Holland! :)

 

Frank spend some time in Switzerland during the Euro Cup 2008, representing Netherlands in the best possible (and very orange) way. Being a part-time, temporary Dutch fan for the Euro, I certainly appreciated the support. ;-) We had a chance to hang out many times, watch several games together, and consume multiple tasty beers. Because of him, I've also gotten a chance to be a paparazzi for an hour or so, using his nice camera with a looooong zoom lens and taking some fun photos of the "Team Swiss" - "Everyone Else" game at the Bern CS meeting. Hope Frank visits again sometime or we get a chance to meet up elsewhere in the near future. All the best, it's been fun!

Well, it was a great night when Holland won against France ;-) what a great game! Besides the game we unfortunately didn't have much time to talk but maybe there will be a next time because I once in a while am visiting my friend in Amsterdam ;-) and hey, Frank, I told you my nickname ;-)

 

Meet this guy if you have a chance: you will enjoy his company. He has a good sense of international humour. I met Frank when he stopped by in Vienna, surfing Isabella's couch. We had a short but great time, going from one bar to another with a bunch of other couchsurfers during the Euro Cup. That's how football and Couchsurfing bring cool people together !! :-) Welcome back in Vienna, anytime !

I met Frank first in a crowded bar and we talked briefly. The second time we met we had a better opportunity to get to know each other. Frank is a guy you immediately feel at home with. He is very open about a lot of things and that gives him a very strong personality. Hope to see him a lot more!

I loved Vienna and the Vienna CS group made my stay better than anticipated. I will definitely be back to see them all.

I met frank several times at CS meetings while he stayed in Bern during the euro2008 soccer championship. He was always friendly and in good mood (which might be related to the fact that Holland always won the games... ;)). I really miss the time going out with him and his Dutch friends!

I spoke only very shortly to Frank, but he was very friendly. And when I asked him for some advice, he really tried to help me, and, most important, reassured me when I needed it. Thanks Frank! See you in two weeks or so!

Frank's pretty cool, and seems to have cemented himself into the Rotterdam couchSurfing community, but was away traveling all the time since I've been active. Glad to see I hadn't met everyone just yet, because it's always good to see a new (fro me anyway) face pop up!

 

We met quite accidentally in Basel during the Euro 2008. Was quite funny 'cos he indeed requested to surf my couch some time before but I was unable to host then. We spent a maaaaaad day in Basel, going through all possible mental states together, from hope to despair. We were in good company though and that's comforting.

 

I met Frank during the CS meeting in Bern in June 2008. He is a very open and nice guy to talk to and I defenitely hope to meet him again when I go to the Netherlands !

Frank animated the Zurich CS meeting. Through his friendly, communicative nature and by taking pictures he helped people who didn't know anybody there to socialize . He was very wellcoming.

Frank and I surfed the same couch during the CS Bern Weekend, which happened to fall on the amazingly-awesome Holland-France game, in which Holland kicked some serious ass. We got to even speak Dutch, and he didn't even laugh to much at my Frenchified Nederlands. Hope to visit him in Holland someday soon!

Frank is great fun to be around. Very outgoing, and funny. I met him at a CS event in Bern, it was definitely a good time. Look forward to my visit to Holland and meet up for a drink or two! =D

Frank is a funny person I met in Bern during an event where we played soccer together! He with his legs, me with my teeth :) I hope he comes back soon, so we can go swimming or fight for sticks! This is on my "to do with Frank"-list still!

During the EURO Championsship 08, I met Frank several times for games and meetings in Bern! He's an enthousiastic soccer-fan and really knows how to party. It was great fun to have you here in Bern, I hope the beer tasted well (considering the amounts of it you consumed :) )

 

Frank was surfing Steffi's couch in St.Gallen during the Euro cup and I was there for one evening and met him. He's an extremely nice guy, very open and interested. Hope to see you again, next time in Rotterdam maybe!?

Frank is a very funny and friendly guy and it was great to hang out and party with him in Vienna.

 

Frank is the kind of guy who is hard to miss in the crowd. As tall as Dutchies come, he is hard to overlook and boasts with energy and humor. You absolutely will have a great time whether you surf him, host him or just meet him for a drink. Most likely beer. Very very easy and uncomplicated socially. I only can be positive. Meet him!

 

First of all: Actually this one was an EXTREMELY positive one...!
The hardest part of having Frank as our guest was to say him goodbye. During the time he stayed at our place in some way Frank became a part of the family. We spent a lot of time together - not only partying in the fan-areas, which it was all about actually (and man - I`ll never forget....-)) we had also a trip to Germany, visited a castle and took a LOT of pictures. Thank you for putting all these files on our computer! All in all this was not just any cs-experience, it was THE experience!
This guy is honest, openhearted, outgoing, with a very good humor (yes I know you`re stupid, man), the best man for talking and partying! If you`ll ever have the chance to meet him - do it!
Frank, hopefully things will be just fine for you in the future and you can cope with your emotions concerning your friend Mark.
OF COURSE we`re gonna meet again, in the south, in the north or in the middle...

Oh, there is so much to say about Frank. We first met through my cousins friends and had a crazy night watching and celebrating the Netherlands second EM victory, and then had a great following day playing football and hanging out with the fellow CSers. Frank is super friendly and an extremely kind person. He is well traveled and interesting to talk to. Frank is a great photographer and is always trying to get 'the perfect picture'. I am eagerly waiting to see all of his pictures; and I'm sure they are great. Next time I am in the Netherlands I will be sure to stop in Rotterdam to surf with Frank!

 

Frank was a very nice and uncomplicate guest. Because he came for our CSBerne-weekend during EuroSoccer08 the host-experience was a bit different (we were most of the time in a group of people) but my son, me and our cat enjoyed his company.

 

Sadly he cannot come at my place before to go for a nice meeting in Bern but we spent the nights to the same host during the weekend!

One day was enough to realise how interesting it is talking with Frank. We met in Sankt Gallen on the way to the Euro 2008 and I'm sure we will meet again, soon. Frank was great! Very welcoming...we played pool, talked photography and had a nice time. Definitely a good guy!

 

We met shortly before the soccermatch of the national team. We had some soccer-related talks since I sat next to him, and overall it was a good experience. Unfotunately I had to leave shortly after the match without having time to say goodbye. I'm sure we'll meet soon again!

Frank housted me and my fiends 2 days in Rotterdam. We had two nice evenings with some drinks and chating. He took also a whole day to show us around, it was really funny also because of "the game" :-) Thanks for the greate time! take care

first day i met him he was very very kind, he took us (me and my son Andres) at the supermarket because of my marathon i hade to have special food, next day he took us to pick the marathon number and after that he teach us the most important parts of Rotterdam dowtown, he invited us to CS meeting and he took me home even they had a party later on, Staurday he took us again to dowtown we were at the place for meet in the half of the marathon and later we were in a music festival, the sunday he took us at the star marathon and at the half he took me many pictures, i meet them at the end and we celebrate the marathon having a Libanes dinner, with all these we hade so many many talks about many many topics so now i fell him like a very very good friend, hopping to see him again very soon

 

Frank is also very active in the CS Community both online and offline. He keeps CS Rotterdam alive.

we met almost at the end of the cs meeting when we were about to leave. First impression definitely positive. The world is so small so maybe I'll have the opportunity to tell about my second inpression as well ;)

Frank hosted me and my friends Sergej, Inese and Oliver. We enjoyed that very much. Frank prepared a great excursion around Rotterdam like a game. It was very interesting! I saw Rotterdam from the best side. At home Frank has a lot of different table games so we played some. Frank is very friendly, nice and helpful person.

I met Frank briefly at the beginning and the end of the Rotterdam picture quest. He seemd like a nice and helpful guy. Maybe we'll see each other again one day.

We met during QueensNight meeting in Untecht. Although we actually didn't have many opportunities to talk to he (having his terrific camera always ready to hand :]) made a really good impression on me.

After a long time of playing hide-and-seek i finally met Frank at the R'dam weekly meeting. He has the right CS spirit, cause he's organising the R'dam Photo Quest meeting and I like that!
And yeah! Even when there was an important soccergame coming up, Frank joined us at the Kinderdijk meeting. I had the chance to talk to him some more and i'm sure i'll meet him more often since he is really easy going, friendly and (last but not least) a good photographer! :) He might even beat me in the CS photocontest... ;)

 

I met Frank at the PictureQuest he organized for Koninginnedag he organised in Rotterdam. Afterwards we food and games at Mum's Kitchen and the next day Picnic at kinderdijk. nice to chat to, I'm sure we'll meet up again soon.

I met Frank at a CS gathering (Rotterdam photo contest) the day after I joined Couch Surfing. He made me feel at ease and welcomed into the group. He also introduced me to a lot of other great folks. This made my first experience with the organization a great one. Thanks!!

I met Frank at the Kinderdijk Bike tour, he is an active and enthousiastic Couchsurfer.

I talked to Frank on my way to Rotterdam to participate in the Picture Quest he had organised. I was late and he managed to bring me to a team so that I could enjoy the day and take pictures. We went to Mom's kitchen and really had fun together playing games and also in Kinderdijk the next day. Frank is a really friendly guy always there to help you out whenever possible, he also offered me his couch. He likes to have fun, and share it with others. What else, we also end up decorating the bikes before the trip to Kinderdijk with dutch flags... small attentions that makes it much more enjoyable! Hope to see you again, back here in Amsterdam, or in Rotterdam, since I should go back there in the next month.

 

Frank organised a meeting which I attended. After that, he hosted me in his house. We had a nice night playing boardgames, amazingly good food and nice talks. Frank is extremely helpful. He emailed me before my trip to the Netherlands to tell me about the meetings being held there and then when I turned up late to the Rotterdam Picture Quest he called one of the groups and took me to join them so that I could still partcipate. Then he waited for us with my luggage to take us to Momma's Kitchen for dinner1 Extremely kind! Can't wait to see all of his pictures from the events over that weekend.

Frank organized the picture quest in Rotterdam and really did a great job....THANKS! It was alot of fun and I met lots of cool people. After exploring rotterdam I hung out with Frank and some other CSs. Frank is easy to talk to and easy to beat at yatzee ;)

We met Frank while havin' a Rotterdam city tour. He was preparin' a photo quest 'n we discovered interesting places with him. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time to have longer conversation together after the walk!

Fortunately we've found his couch in Rotterdam after our homeless experience at Amsterdam's snowy-Easter. This very kind guy, knows a loooot of football and he showed us how to play the 9 ball (a game that has became my favorite pool game!). Also he showed us the city (of course, the Feyenoord stadium), took us to have dinner at his parents place, we had many many chats.... and the most important thing, we had a really good time with him =)

I met Frank back in 2004 when I was on holidays in the Netherlands. We just met randomly but he was so nice and the click was so good that we stayed together for 2 weeks. He showed me a lot of places and we were really good friends. Frank introduced me to Couchsurfing as he is a member for a long time already and when I told him about my travel plans for India he told me I should become a Couchsurfer. We talked a lot about it and then I decided to do it, so here I am. I am also going back to him in October and I can't wait to see him again !!

I got to know Frank as I was visiting Rotterdam. We met at Friday Night Food Fun - a CS meeting. It was nice to talk to him, Frank made an impression of an outgoing person.

 

I saw Frank quite often allready on postings in CS, so he didn't feel really new when I met him in person. He appeared to be what I expected, good company, devoted to CS and a very hospitable host. Hope to see you often on meeting both in Rotterdam & Utrecht

He was able to wait for me more than 4 hours at the finish line at the Rotterdam marathon and then he was able to walk with me at the same speed until we reach a cozy place. He is a very nice guy!

 

We met in several CS meetings and I am glad we did cause he is a nice person!

Frank is a very pleasant and knowledgeable guy to hook up with who makes u top-notch comfortable with his cheerful smile. I cannot remember him being parted with his camera even for a minute. I enjoyed the time in Rotterdam, I didn't know any CS people there before I was welcomed and we had a great time with Frank and others at the singing evening and at Frank's birthday party. Let's see what comes next!

Thanks for not only backing up technically but also vocally our singing event! Frank seems very engaged to gather cs and since he gatheres a cool gang we even had a funny boogie for his birthday!

 

I've seen Frank several times on meetings and went to his birthday party in Plan C. Haven't had a proper conversation yet, Franks an OK guy!

 

When we first met at Frueh's Brewhouse in Cologne after the CS Christmas-Market Crawl 07, I found him really charming and I liked it/him ... and when 3 months later, he invited me to his birthday party, I spontaneously accepted his invitation and we passed a really nice WE together. I was enchanted by his sincere and caring empathy and hospitality (not only to me but to all of his birthday guests) and so thrilled by the stories his CS-guests could tell about Iran. I also liked a lot that we spent the night in the same room chatting for hours ...
I only managed to come back to R'dam 7 months later (after trying to invite me to my place) ... and I again found him impressingly sensitive, caring, helping, hospitable as well as modest, a good listener ... I really feel at home when you're around ...

I think he enjoyed the music, food and watching the Surinam dancing. Hope that you visit MK more often.

We found him via Couchsurfing and he was willing to host us after a phone call from our friend even when we did not have anything on our profile. We had some talks on the first night straight away. He helped us creating our profile and we will have a lot of things to do like a city tour, a singing evening and even his birhday party. We are very lucky to have met him.

It was a really short couchsurfing experience... we had only one day in Rotterdam... So.... we didnt have time to know each other... but was enough to say that whenever u wanna come to Brazil you must contact me... what can I say about this fellow? Frank set me off on the right foot by being my very first couch surfing host, I couldn't have hoped for a better host!

He was kind enough to pick my cousin and I up in Amsterdam, a few hours trip from where he lives in Rotterdam. We spent a day in Amsterdam and the next day in Rotterdam. It was great to have a local show us around, and also recommend the good snacks! We had a "Mejicano" snack...well, it wasn't very Mexican, but it was good! Hahaha.

Frank was very very nice to us, taking us places and telling us stories of his soccer team Feyonoord! (Wuuu!! Go Feyonoord!). We had a lot of time to talk and I feel I really got to know him. I definitely had a positive experience, and would love to one day get to host him!

Frank responded with enthusiasm on my proposal to go hitching to Paris for NYE, so I suspected he would be a cool guy. And he turned out to be so, when I met him some weeks later on Rainey's birthday party. (Obviously the hitch did not go through in the end)

Frank and I surfed in Rotterdam for NYE 2008. It was a blast hanging out with Rainey, our host, and partying at a local pub and then an afterbar. Rainey also took us to the Suriname Cultural Center beforehand where we were fed. Frank was fun to talk to and get to know. Hope to run into him again!

It was great to talk to Frank at Rainey's birthday and we also exchange some messages, but somehow did not manage to meet again. Looking forward to it.

Franck is veeeeery nice, we spent some time under my umbrella (ella, ella, eh, eh, eh) and he fed me with a thing made of potatoes and onions and apple sauce with a very complicated german name at Xmas market in Köln. Hope we meet again, Franck!

Since meeting in Rotterdam, we shared a fun car ride and weekend during Cologne's Christmas Market meeting, co-organized board game meetings in Rotterdam, toured Versailles, and met so many other times as well. We met during the Sinterklaas meeting warm up at o sheas in Rotterdam. We had a few quick discussions and he really seems to be a nice guy :)

He's the best guy you will ever be able to meet. If you want to go to party, easily hang out or having a wonderful time whatsoever, you gotta meet up with this guy.

 

After exchanging a few messages, we finally met up at a few meetings well over a year later. Frank seems like a nice and friendly guy, who is eager to make his guests feel comfortable.

 

[Frenk] was so kind to let me sleep in his flat just 3 minutes after we met! Wow, speaking of hospitality! In the end I stayed at someone else's place and he was cool about that too. In the pub we met several times briefly and he was always happy and having fun. Really nice guy.

After his spontaneous response on my postings,he was willing to have a new karma for the measly amount of 2,00 euro's and that for a good cause!
Rossi and i did our best to summon up great energies from above/anywhere and he was such a great sport to undergo the karma makeover.I hope it lasted more than that night and is still working!

 

Frank is the kind of guy, who you think is initially quiet and reserved; but once he gets going he can go on forever. I like his enthusiasm about meeting people in CS; and also his keen interest in photography. Neat pictures. Looking forward to more meeting and gatherings.

It was good fun to meet up with Frank!! We obviously have the same character, and it shows. No question why, we are members of the Frank League... So my best advice for you Frank is to join the meetings here in Maastricht in the beginning of February, and the Berlin Beach Camp, May / June '08, you should NOT miss... What's more you can expect me back in Rotterdam in a year (or before) when Sinterklaas will celebrate his birthday again!!

Frank is a great person, host, talk partner and guide. I can assure you that he will always do as much as he can to make people feel good.
I will never forget how I and my friend stayed at his place. Having some trouble Frank helped us and he did it with pleasure.
Thanks to him we saw Rotterdam and ate some typical sweets of Netherlands.

I surfed with Frank in the middle of my Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Belgium bike trip. He was a very good host, easy going person and good to talk with. Also, it was great, since I asked for the couch in so little time and still he was ok to host me. Hope I can return the favour here in Gent ;)

Frank is one of the sweetest guys I've ever met. He will do anything to make sure you will have a good time.

 

After 2 years we finally met. It is so funny. I just read some emails from you and you were introduced to CS by your father who heard it on the radio. Well Frank I'm glad we finally met. But don't worry we will see eacht other very soon again!! Well you got more experience in surfing than I did!!!
