Although I don't know Giuseppe from couchsurfing, we work at the same institute and Giuseppe is so kind to drive us to and from work everyday! And host yummy dinners every week! yay! Although we might not know each other that long yet, I think he is one of the nicest and warmest people I have met in Groningen! In fact, any questions I had when I started my new job, I would walk across the corridor at work to ask Giuseppe instead of people in my own office sometimes, because I felt more open with him! Thanks!

 

Gius is an very active member of the CS community in Groningen and takes a lot of initiatives.

Guiseppe... he is incredible. One of the most hospitable and generous people I've ever met, it's impossible to feel uncomfortable, bored or lonely near him. You don't meet people like Gius very often. So glad to get to know him :)

Giuseppe stayed with me for one night and we went to some CS events in Haarlem. He is a great guest.

Thanks for showing me how to juggle. Next time we meet I hope to show off some juggling skills ;)

I met Gius while he stayed in potsdam for a few days. he cooked for me a very tasty meal and we had a nice funny chat with some tea after dinner. he s decent, calm and it just felt good to have him around. I was sooooo sorry that I couldnt join him for the bike tour I actually promised to give him! would have been way nice to spent more time together.

Giuseppe met us for an afternoon trip, which evolved into a potluck dinner which morphed into a surfing night and a morning of strategy games. Great fun, focused cook, and possessor of games and books. Spend time with him if you can - wish we could have spent more time.

Giuseppe I hope the spelling is correct :). Is an interesting fellow with a lot of experience in CS. Even we were discussing a bit about some of the guidelines for CS meetings. He is quite good in languages we even speak for a short while Spanish. Hope to see him in future CS meetings.

I met Giuseppe in CS dinner @ Groningen and it was very nice and easy talking with him - he has travelled all over the world and has so many stories and memories to share about different countries and people! Definitely a very interesting person to talk with - and pity that I didn't know before that he can speak basic Lithuanian, that would be another topic to speak about :)

 

What a wonderful surprise to be able to share 3 days hanging out with Gius at Brie's place. He is such a sweetheart of a person and can get *silly* with the rest of us. Nice conversations, fun walks, good food and lots of wine were shared. I feel very honored that I was lucky enough to spend these days with Gius and we WILL meet again, hopefully in California! Much love...

Gius was in Western Cape, South Africa and got in touch with me as a fellow CS, we shared food and drinks at Mzoli's and Polana and dinner at Addis in Cape.He is extremely easy to get along with and seems to love taking pics....would love to see those pics one day....!!

 

Gius and I have been in touch for a couple of years working on different CS teams. We finally met in February 2009, when I have been in Groningen, and together we had a trip to other parts of the Netherlands. Thanks for the great hospitality and see you soon!

We first met at the airport when he and Jiri fetched me to go straight to Mzolis. Yep, we had a blast and from then onwards, it felt like we had known each other forever. I am really looking forward to some Italian cuisine that you promised me... See you hopefully soon in Amsterdam or back here in Cape Town. Thanks G, you are a great person to know.

I still remember the great Sinterklaas meeting 2007 at your place.

Wow, Gius and Jurgita are wonderful. They were my guests at the Sinterklaas meeting, for which I was so busy organizing that I was barely able to host them properly.. Still the short moments we did share were nice, and made me feel very warm inside (ouch, sounds almost a bit too cheezy :)
You guys are still in the running towards becoming my next nicest couchsurfers, although I need further investigation to verify.. So hope to see you again sometimes!!

Everytime I met guispe I was greeted with a friendly smile and an invitation to join him in something - juggling, frizbee, fortune telling, star-gazing etc! I enjoyed his company very much, I would recomend it to anybody! Not only does he have many interesting ideas to talk about the world - but he is also good at listening to yours. Very calm and warm person :o)

 

I've met Giuseppe aka Pikkio some years ago when I was attending my Erasmus exchange year in Bonn, Germany. I invited him to many parties and he explained me the basics of astronomy. I knew he was an amb here in CS but the surprise was to meet him in Milan during MI too celebrations!!Dancing together was like going back at those wonderful times! Come back again!

 

I had a lovely time hosting Gius. He is not your typical geek! He's a lot of fun to hang out with, a great partner to sing cheesy Italian love songs with, and didn't even disown me when I tried to boss him around in the kitchen, where he prepared a fantastic new creation: risotto alla Brie -- no thanks to my "help"! I really don't need to tell you to host this guy -- his references say it all -- but do it anyway. You'll be glad you did!

 

The first ambassador I ever hosted:) Although we didnt have a chance to talk a lot, but still managed to share some experiences about being CS Amb, as well as current world affairs and travels. He was very understanding when I had to leave Vilnius for one of days when I promssed to host him:)Giuseppe was a really good guest, interesting person and I hope to meet him again:)

 

Groningen has a very nice and friendly ambassador! He organised the meeting of the ambassadors and a perfect barbecue. He is a wonderful host too. I had some nice meals and a very good bed at his place. Thanks, Giuseppe, go on with the good work!

 

Guis as we call him is a great support for the couchsurfing network. Besides, he being online right now answering CS questions on his laptop is a glimpse of his cs spirit. He also organised a succesful CS weekend in groningen and hosted me for 3 days. A great astronomer and kind host in a city with great nightlife.

He kindly hosted us in his small tent at the Berlin Beach camp where we seemed to become instand friends and then again at his lovely appartment in Groningen. I really loved spending time with him talking, juggling and trying to solve some of the crazy puzzles he collects. Giuseppe was my sunshine guest in Riga and i enjoyed these days a lot. Luckily Giuseppe managed to be in Riga in the most perfect time ever- for Latvian Song and Dance festival held in Latvia every 4 years. Giuseppe is so easy - not afraid to try any of strange Latvian food and drinks, perfeclty manages to dance Latvian folk dances and prepares heavenly delicious risotto. What I should say about Giu? I dont know, my english it's no so good to stand out so many adjectives he deserves. Kind, nice, trustworthy, funny, and with this amazing free young spirit... You are a big man, dude!!! Really big!!!

Guiseppe is a really funny guy and always ready to help someone (e.g. to find an emergency couch in Riga for me). We had such a lot of fun in Klaipeda, and he is a real good cook (he cooked for 5 persons real italian pasta - hmmm). His card tricks are so clever that you nearly believe in magic. Just a wonderful CSer! Giuseppe surfed my couch for two nights and we spent three evenings together with other CSers making Italian pasta, exploring Klaipeda's old town mysterious places and having fun at a jazz club. Giuseppe has a great sence of humor and is very intelligent, considerate and attentive person. It was a pleasure to meet him and share some laughts, talks, food and walking. Really hope to see you some day!

 

On CS I met scientist who is familiar with my work. Giuseppe is extremely intelligent, polite, reasonable, attentive, helpful, and pretty quiet person. It was so nice to have him around (he even made some really good dinner (yummy!) at my place) :) We shared nice talks, good company, very relaxing walks along the beach & some crazy dream-whispering moments in the old town of Klaipeda! He surfed my mattress (couch was occupied by Roland and Barbara) only for two hours, because we had so much to talk about :)

Giuseppe is one of the most trustful persons I'v ever met... He is a great host and has a lot of things to entertain you when you are invited to his place:)...
He is an experienced person and likes to share his experiences with the others... I rank him as a good friend of mine. He is alos a good soccer player:)

After 8-9 months working and participating in different parties together and finally hosting me for more than two weeks when I had nowhere to go I should add not only a great host but also a real friend... when you have a problem don't worry at all if you have Giuseppe in your freinds list:)

a german saying is "das beste zum schluss", what means the best at the end but with guiseppe at the beginning as my first guest i don´t know what may come after him then;) it was a real pleasure to host him and we had a lot of fun together-thanks to his great sense of humour.

I met Giuseppe in BBC 2008, Actually we were neighbors and had very nice time together, he trained me the first lessons of Joggling and he did it in the best possible way, I owe him a lot for this,he is my teacher , and for sure when you look at him ,you would find a good sense of relaxation that he always had,he is really a very nice guy, hope to meet you again.

Currently co-pilot to giuseppe on the hi-speed train from groningen to dwingeloo. Yep, giuseppe's a very sound man.

It was a grear evening. Spontanious idea to go and play some Mafia :D. Also got more confidence that you CAN NOT trust those Sicilians - I knew those little shifty eyes can have only one diagnoses - MAFIA member, hahahaha :)
Overall he's a very kind mafia guy and fun to hang out with!!!

If I was a sun, Giuseppe was without any doubt our southern star, always guiding us in this strange "land" that was the berlin beach camp. He is an extremly interesting and cultivated man, full of generosity and positive attitude! It was him to teach me the lazy frisbee, but I also always saw him teaching something to someone (like how to juggle in ten minutes!). I really hope we will manage to create something between Bremen and Groningen, and by this way to have the occasion to see each other more often! all my best wishes!

Giuseppe and I first met in Berlin beach camp and I soon realised he has a tattoo of the southern cross and was wearing an Aussie rugby jersey! He is close enough to being Aussie has a great attitude to life and is open minded and fun!

It was enough to look at him how calm and patient he was and understand that he is an special person. So I was not wrong when you check his profile then you see he is.

Met Giuseppe at several meetings in Amsterdam one weekend and later joined him and some other CSers in Groningen for wadlopen. He is a great host and cook, very well traveled, and I am sorry that my stay was so short. Thank you!

Giuseppe was super nice with me during the camp. During the entire Friday I had the pleasure to wear his sun protection hat... although he could have very well used it himself, while we were all suffering under a burning sun. So thanks mate, I reckon you saved my neck from serious brandings.

Further I really hope we can get Groningen and Bremen a little closer together. That'd be great!!!

Guiseppe is a relaxed, friendly and funny guy. When Giuseppe visited Stockholm in late February and early March 2008 I had the opportunity to meet him at three different CS meetings and later host him for two nights. It was really busy days for me, so I could not spend as much time together with Giuseppe as I had wished. It was fun meeting him and I hope to see him soon again!

 

I had a really good time meeting and hosting Giuseppe in Stockholm, he's curious of every part of the everyday life, the food, the people... he also made me some viciously good pasta - he promised me a standing table in his Italian restaurant when it opens in Japan, and maybe that is going to ruin him : ) I really hope we meet again for midsummer celebration in Sweden!

Ah Giuseppe! We knew each other for a while through friends, and even though he had a flew, he still hosted me when I visited Groningen. Great hospitality! Great cooking together (sooo tasty....) and a totally uncomplicated stay. I'm looking forward to hosting Giuseppe & friends in Berlin!

 

He stayed with me when he just moved to Groningen. After that, we became good friends. Having parties, dinners, planning barbeque parties, arranging Sinterklaas meetings, going out... I helped him painting his house, he helped me moving. So I guess I can say thanks to Couchsurfing because I met a great friend in this way!

I know Giuseppe for the last 9 months or so and we both live in the same city 'Groningen'. By nature, he is very kind and caring and always ready to help person in need. He daily gives a ride to me at my work place and than back to my home, for which I am really thank ful to him. I like cooking and he likes eating :), so a nice combination. I will definitely miss him as a friend and most of all his suggestions and guidance in some matters ;).

 

A marvellous, marvellous balmy late summer's weekend with Mr G and miss V. Such automatic complicity, good humour and encyclopoedic footballing "savoir" made for a remarkable few days, the only regret being that they could not stay longer...

What more to say? G's cheeky humour and penchant for Cannelés...mutual love of the amber nectar and al fresco cafés...the finest nil-nil draw since the "lions of rome" drew with your lot in '98...The Northern Irish gurning champion... oooo la la!

Gizeppe is a very nice person, friendly and interesting. He came with my sister in Aprl where he lived at our place, for some days.

We met at the noon of a very hot day, firstly for a coffee and then went to my home for just a while, with CSer friend Luisa. Unfortunately I had to go away in the afternoon so I couldn't offer him my couch. We met just for a few hours thought he is so polite and sweet that I consider him a friend. Maybe the next time it will for more than some hours! :)

G. is a very kind person even after my change of plans and not being able to host him as planned.. a big apology to this very sweet and nice guy..

I was so happy to meet someone who really knows my home, since I have been away from it for so long :) I love the fact that he understands that in Tassie we do have some of the best seafood in the world :) I enjoyed the time I spent chatting with Giuseppe he seems to be a calm intelligent traveller with a job that lets him travel the world. We strangely ended up meeting each other and surfed one night at another couchsurfer after a big CS MEETING in Stockholm, Sweden. We talked a lot and discuss other sensitive issues. I still have to know him better and that is why we will see each other soon. Ohh and also hope to see you around Puerto Rico!

He visited me and my family this easter and was our first couchsurfer. He's an extremely nice and funny guy and I really hope that we'll stay in touch. He's definetely trustworthy and very nice to be around..

Gpikkiois a man of the stars and shines like one.I envy is occupation,at the same time he reminded me to look up more into the deep dark nights to see the stars shining bright,and get my thoughts out of the gutter.Haha

 

After some (funny) communications through e-mail, Gius and I finally met at the CS meeting in Stockholm. He's full of positive energy and always in for a good laugh. He actually drove his car from Holland to Sweden to be at the meeting. Thanks for being there, Gius. I hope to see you again!

 

We met at his place where simultaniously 3 parties were being held. Was real nice, all sorts of people from all over the world. He's a really nice guy, very friendly.

Best milkshakes and italian food, ever!!! Gius, mon sicilen préféré, is the best couchsurfing host I ever met. He invited me and my cousin on Christmas 2005, and let us feel very confortable at his place and in his country of adoption, Tasmania. I loved his way of life and thinking positive. He showed us Hobart and around, even the telescope he worked with. He cooked delicious italian pasta and gnocchis (I learn how to cook them!), and did the best milkshakes I ever tasted. Gius should be a CS ambassador, cause he is so devoted to his CS duty!

 

Giuseppe and I meet quite regularly in HC meet-ups, and at work. He has this "Italian" cordiality - a witty guy with a "take-it-easy" attitude. We have traveled together. It was good to talk about his experiences in Tasmania. And we are in the same profession - Astronomy.

Guiseppe is a very nice Italian. Good luck painting and I hope we meet again.

Che un ouva buona! (is that good italian?). He was my first guest and we got along so well. I think I had more fun than he did! We both share a passion for good food and had lots of fun cooking, eating & travelling.

He is a great & trustworthy guy. Host him/stay with him and you're in for a treat.

A presto!

We had a lot of fun at school in Sicily; thanks to the technology we are still in touch. He is the great guy who introduced me to the CS projet!

I reckon Giuseppe rocks. Gius is a great guy, so nice, and has a cute house overlooking the bay in beautiful Hobart. He showed me the local pubs, market and cooked some lovely Italian food. A truly local experience and a great host!

 

Thanks! Guis & his lovely girlfriend are great hosts - they showed us around Hobart, taking us for a real Hobart fish & chips meal and then to a local pub for some good music and better beer. He's a great guy with a fascinating job and definitely worth catching up with in Hobart (or whatever city he makes it onto next).

A gentleman with personality! Gius is such a great guy! We both live in Hobart so haven't couch-surfed with each other but he'd be welcome to stay at my house ANY time! He probably even cooks better than I do. Gius is highly trustworthy, very giving, interesting and interested. Just love him!

 

Great food, wine, and company! Giuseppe was a fantastic host. I spent almost an entire week in Tasmania, and, I confess, I learned more about Italian cooking than I expected! Thank goodness we shared a love for seafood and great food; otherwise, I would have missed that fantastic meal on the bay.
