Groups I Belong ToCouch Information
Couch Available: Definitely! Preferred Gender: Any Max Surfers Per Night: 10
Shared Sleeping Surface: No Shared Room: NoI live together in a nice house with my girlfriend Liza (lizzie82ish). The attic is a seperate couchsurfingroom. If necessary we could squeeze a lot people in, but we rather keep it personal and host just a few people at a time and not more than around 4 times a month (that is in average of course). SURFING WITH ME?
My couch and me are a packagedeal. I'm interested to get to know people I host, this only works if you're also interested in me :) I might be busy with work, but will always try to spend time with you (going to CS-meetings, showing you Utrecht, sharing dinner, playing boardgames, etc). If you're into this, we might be looking forward to a great time, if you're only looking for a free hostel, please don't contact me.
UTRECHT!
I love to show people around show them everything I know and introduce them to the reasons I love this city (history, architecture, nightlife, bars, people, etc).
HOUSE
I live together with Liza and Mees (a shy but curious cat). The house is located near the popular, multicultural neighbourhood called Lombok (famous among other things for good and cheap food). The trainstation is hardly more then 10 min. walking. Although there are a lot of activities nearby the house is on a relative quit spot.
Check for info for Couchsurfers about Utrecht in the CouchWiki or Utrecht on Google maps

WHEN?
Best time to surf my place is in the weekends when I have time to show you around. In weekdays me and my girlfriend have to work, I can also host people on those days, but that means not minding to get up early in the morning and entertain yourself. A small clue on the availability of my couch (of course doens't say all), can be seen in my online agenda:

REQUESTING
If you want me to be happy when I receive your request consider the following things:
* Please show something from yourself (either in your profile or in your message). I don't host people I don't know anything about. It's always cool to know in advance that you have something to talk about (it definately makes me more willing to host people).
* Please show that you took an effort to find out about me. I'm not a hotel. So only request if you think you can have a cool time with me.
* After some experiences which weren't that great as they should be I decided to only host people with a CS profile. So if you travel with a friend, please make sure you're friend also has a profile. Your profile doesn't have to be experienced (everybody has to start somewhere).
* Utrecht is not a suburb of Amsterdam. I tend to get sad If people only talk about Amsterdam in couchrequests.
* It is a bit waste of both your and my time to send the same message to both me and my girlfriend Liza (we offer the same couch), above that, this way we will see how much you have copypasted ;)
* An extra welcome goes out to everyone who travels by responsible means (bike, hitchhiking, train, etc).
If you want to show in an easy way that you've red all of this you could put the world "Yippy-ya-yee" in your message (no obligation though, you can also think of something yourself to make your request stand out). Of course you don't have to, feel free to show in a more original way that you red my profile.

Personal DescriptionLife is short, so I try not to waste it. I like to be active in all sorts of ways and like to see and learn about the world around me. Couchsurfing not only gives me a nice travelling option, but also gives me a chance to invite the world in my house. If you want to know more about me just check the rest of my profile, that probably says more than me talking about me :)

How I Participate in CSSince I also have to work I host more then I travel, but when I travel I try to surf couches.
I see it as my humble duty to get more couchsurfers to Utrecht. I still cannot understand why this city isn't a big tourist hub, it has everything a great city needs. But on the other hand, the total absence of tourists makes the beauty of Utrecht even more precious.
Utrecht is also a town with a great and active CS-community. Since we don't get that much travellers we meet up with each other quite often.
Since I cannot sit still I also spend my free time on this site in all different functions (mentoring, writing on the wiki, writing on the newsletter or just annoying other people in one of the many groups)/CouchSurfing ExperienceLike lots of people in the network I surfed couches long before I became member, like in Poland, Turkey and Sweden. I already knew how cool it is to have friends all over, and was already member of Hospitality club, so it wasn't hard to convince me to join in to Couchsurfing.
After becoming member and hosting a few people the couchsurfing-virus struck me pretty hard when I went to the first CS-meeting in Utrecht. After experiencing surfing in the Balkans and visiting the great community of Vienna I was completely sold.
It appeared to be very easy to create a community in Utrecht, but I am still surprised how many great people in my hometown alone I keep on meeting through couchsurfing. Couchsurfing became a way of life. I organised lots of meetings in Utrecht, including the big Midsummernight.
Since I have a normal job I cannot travel that often, but when I do I try to surf couches. I allready surfed couches in Serbia, Hungary, Austria, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Thailand and of course the Netherlands. I hope this list will keep on growing!
My guests & hostsInterestsAlternative lifestyles, Belgium beer, Boardgames, Books, Geography/Travel, Music, Movies, Politics, Vegetarian cooking, culture in general and of course you ;)Philosophy'Being a Humanist means trying to behave decently without expectation of rewards or punishment after you are dead.'
(Kurt Vunnegot)
And above that a convinced BokononistMusic, Movies, BooksStampede (my own band)
Generally I like music to have a happy time with, somehow this mostly happens to me with 'organic' music. No offense to computers, but that just doesn't do it to me that much. I can enjoy light and happy dancemusic as Funk, Soul, Ska, Reggae and Balkan beats, but also heavy music like Metal and hardcore Hiphop. What's important in both is a good groove (I play that bass myself ;) ), an energetic live show and a positive vision through good lyrics.
My great music messiah is Michael Franti from Spearhead. Other Bands that blow my mind are: The Cat Empire, Gogol Bordello, Dresden Dolls, Sublime, Jamie Lidell, Tool, The Slackers, Boo!, Babylon Circus, dEus, Apocalyptica, Watcha, Kyteman, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mr. Bungle, Primus and all of course all local bands couchsurfers introduced me to...
Books:
Kurt Vunnegot is my big hero! Nobody else can mix deep thoughts with silly humor as he can. I agree both with his positive lightness as with his apocalyptic visions.
Other writers I enjoyed a lot lately: Matt ruff, Douglas Copeland, Geert Mak, J.K. Rowling, Orhan Pamuk, Tad Williams, Isaak Asimov, Gore Vidal, D.B.C. Pierre, Yann Martell, Ben Elton, Mumia Abu Jamal and many more...

In my youth I was a big fan of comic books, still like them but haven't got time to keep up with what's interesting.
Movies:
Terry Gilliam says about all of my taste: dark, layered, funny, creative, dreamy and visionary. I like movies that make you think and still amazes you at the end. Other filmmakers that will always achieve this with me are: Tim Burton, Christopher Nolen, Charlie Kaufman, Jeunet & Caro, David Fincher and Emir Kusturica
TV:
Nothing beats Brittish comedy (Monty Python, Blackadder, We are klang, Allo Allo, Red dwarf, etc). Sadly all you English speakers wont ever understand Dutch caberet (Hans Teeuwen, Theo Maassen, Herman Finkers, etc), closest would probably be the dark and idealistic american dead heroes George Carlin and Bill Hicks (Who I also really enjoy).
Being a teacher I also like to be aware (my girlfriend calls me a walking encyclopedia, I like to live up to that image), so I also watch a lot of news items and documentarys on T.V. Teach, Learn, ShareI'm a geography teacher, It's hard not to mix work and privat on couchsurfing. Only if you want to I can teach you all about the special insane country the Netherlands is (I also know a lot about history). I also play bass in a skaband an am a vegetarian, both also require some skills ;)
You're a very bad teacher if you can't learn so I'm also always curious about others. I've used quite a lot couchsurfers allready in examples in my lessons at school. I'm also always happy with new knowledge about music and cooking.
The one thing you realy HAVE to learn if you surf a dutch couch is riding on the back of a bike 'cause thats the best way of transport in here. Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org ProjectIt has been a long time that I was so enthousiastic about something. It is rare that ideals and personal interest mixes so smoothly. Both hosting and surfing gave me great experiences, it's always a lot of fun, very often full of eye-openers and totally fits with my idea of a better world. From Kati Vetter Vienna, Austria Mar 8 Positive Jasper is a fantastic host, he knows very much about the history of Utrecht and is a very entertaining guide through this wonderful city. He is also a wonderful cook, knows where to get the best food and if you want to buy some beer or dutch cheese - jasper is a great advisor.
Thank you for the great time.
From Corinna Frese Muenster, Germany Mar 6 Positive Unfortunately I didn't have much time when I stayed in Utrecht, but was glad that Jasper and Liza hosted me anyway. They have a lovely colourful house, cat Mees is quiet and cute, and the CS-attic is small but cozy. I hope next time we can talk more and who knows? - maybe Stampede will come to Münster one day. Would be really cool. :)
Dank jullie wel!!!
From Bas Hemmen Deventer, Netherlands Jan 31 Positive I thank Jasper and Liza by showing their adaptability by hosting me on such a short notice! It was a nice ending after a great Monthly Meeting in Utrecht that night. Too bad that Jasper and I could not talk much since he had to go to work that early the following day.
Jasper next time, I hope we will have more time to talk and or play one of the MANY awesome board games you and Liza own.
From Sytse Van Der Veen Arnhem, Netherlands Jan 19 Positive After seeing jasper on so many events and feeling inspired by the way he always seems to make awesome events. i finnaly got to host him during the arnhem calling. its also nice to know that we share the same beer taste :) i should really bring you to the moordgat one day i think you would love it. on a sidenote i don't bite its all lies !!!
From Gosia Suchlobowicz Poznan, Poland Jan 7 Positive Jasper and Liza hosted me and my brother for a one day. They make up a great couple. Both of them are open-minded and eager to answer all your questions about the city. We had a really nice evening getting in touch with the Dutch cabaret and music.
From Froukje Jongsma Rotterdam, Netherlands Jan 1 Positive Really loved to talk with you about the games you're designing and hopefully I will be able to play one of them in the near future !!!
From KZHEN London, United Kingdom Dec 31, 2009 Positive I attended a Games Night that he and Liza hosted at their house in Utrecht.
Jasper was loud and controversial - but in a good way, we all had loads of fun and there was much laughter.
From Judith Enders Solingen, Germany Dec 30, 2009 Positive Hey Jasper, also my thanks to you for hosting me jointly with your girlfriend Liza and your cat; I had a great time and the attic was very cozy :)
Thanks for introducing me to the whole "boardgame" culture, I think I got the taste of it and will try it more myself in the future :)
You are always welcome in Solingen of course!
Tot ziens!
From Graham Wright Somerville, United States Dec 23, 2009 Positive Jasper is one of the pillars of the Utrecht CS community. He and Liza are often organizing and/or hosting events for the Utrecht community and are always eager to open their doors to new people in the true CS spirit. Jasper is passionate and knowledgeable about Utrecht and is always keen to share this information with travelers or even educate locals about their own city! He's got a good sense of humor and is fully aware of the idiosyncrasies of the dutch people. He's is also a kick ass bass player so you should go see his band when you get a chance!
From TXIMELETA Bilbao, Spain Nov 28, 2009 Positive We hosted Jasper & Liza...long time ago!!! No, not long time but a very bad weather time; well...this is Bilbo, no problem, a nice red wine bottle can make us happy despite everything!!!
Jasper, Liza, we hope to see you again in your country or back in Bilbo.
The best for you.
From Mark Roskam Oss, Netherlands Nov 18, 2009 Positive you can have a good conversation with him.
From . Manu . Valenciennes, France Nov 17, 2009 Positive Jasper had the good idea to organize an event at his place while I was around, so I joined his "Pythonight II" evening and couchsurfed in his place on that night. I was glad that he took some time to introduce me to the Monty Python, even though I was the only non-Dutch speaker and the only Monty Python absolute beginner in the crowd. It just confirmed the feeling I had while reading his profile, that he has a real interest in his hosts or guests.
See you probably at some next events. I liked Flying Circus a lot by the way.
From Timo Bouerdick Dortmund, Germany Nov 9, 2009 Positive It was really fun and pleasant to host Liza and Jasper. You are welcome back anytime.
I really enjoyed playing Pergamon and hope it will work out for you to become a (famous) board game designer :)
c u in rotterdam!
From RADIOTONIX Munich, Germany Nov 9, 2009 Positive Jasper and Liza were nice hosts. it has been a lot of fun playing sean connery the cardgame and going to a nostalgic alternative 90ies party. thanks a lot!
From Bertold van Voorst Enschede, Netherlands Oct 19, 2009 Positive Jasper and Liza hosted me after the Bockbierfestival event. They're very friendly and really enthusiastic couchsurfers. Too bad I had to leave early in the morning to travel to the next cs event. Next time I definitely want to play some of their many board games (and have another special beer)!
From Alise Laķe Tukums, Latvia Oct 14, 2009 Positive I was staying at Jaspers and Lizas place in Utrecht for a nice weekend to explore a bit more of Netherlands. And I really liked it!
Jasper is so passionate in what he is doing. His own invented archaeology table game (it's a pity that I didn't manage to try to play it..), his geography teachers job, his historical stories about Utrecht etc..
Hope we will meet up again somewhere sometime.. :)
From Sander Odijk Haarlem, Netherlands Sep 29, 2009 Positive A great and lively guest with tons of CS-experience. Next time we'll have to talk more about our taste in books!
From Kirin Bhalla Auckland, New Zealand Sep 8, 2009 Positive I contacted Jasper as we had been working together on a number of CS groups. Jasper and Liza are such wonderful hosts – easy-going, laid back and very welcoming. It was really easy to relax in their place.
Jasper made sure that we had a full programme when I was in Utrecht and I was great to meet all the Couchsurfers there.
I really enjoyed my stay with them and highly recommend them as hosts. Wish I had more time to spend with them but I am sure we will meet again.
From Anna Maria Mrozińska Warsaw, Poland Aug 28, 2009 Positive Jasper was a very good host. He told me and my friends a lot about Utrecht and the Kingdom of the Netherlands ( say "Holland" and he's gonna kill you right away xD ). He also played us some Dutch music, which was really astonishing. He was patient enought to have us even though at a certain point he got ill. Thanks!
From Jessica Sicard Vleuten, Netherlands Aug 16, 2009 Positive I stayed at Jasper and Liza's house after a CS picnic and outing at Ekko, a local club in Utrecht. They were great company and showed me and a friend around town a bit. Oh, and they have a beautiful and lovely cat! :)
From Hans Berendijk Amsterdam, Netherlands Aug 15, 2009 Positive the man in Utrecht
From Tristan Cleveland Montreal, Canada Aug 13, 2009 Positive Jasper and his girlfriend Lisa are full of honest kindness. It's great to see, and better yet, they're chalk full of conversation. It was great having Jasper show me around town - he knew so much of the history, and had hilarious stories that other locals have forgotten. Thanks Jasper, it was quality meeting you.
From Sumalee Sansirikul Rayong, Thailand Aug 9, 2009 Positive He was my good guess and easily adapt himself to the local type. Good conversation partner...Real Good travellor.
From Anick-Marie Bouchard Brugge, Belgium Jul 22, 2009 Positive I was also hosted by Jasper, Liza and Mees during the Middersommernight week-end. It was nice to finally meet him after interacting passionately about CS Wiki in groups. I consider myself lucky - the couch was comfy, the hosts are cozy and Mees is.. a cat :) The ambiance at his place was nice, with a lot of guests around, and even if I went to sleep quite early I wasn't bothered at all. Thanks for this fantastic week-end!
From Isaac Olson Bangkok, Thailand Jul 21, 2009 Positive Jasper and his girlfriend were great to have over for the week. They were a lot of fun and had a great attitude about traveling. We hope to meet up with them again some time.
From Richard for real Lund, Sweden Jun 22, 2009 Positive Board game fantaic and totally devoted CSer, Jasper is a great host. He's pretty intense, but in a good way; it gives him a lot of energy for couchsurfing and he uses it wisely to create awesome things. I very much recommend you to meet this cool, funny and people-loving guy.
From Robyn Schenk Wellington, New Zealand Jun 6, 2009 Positive Staying at Jasper's was really good - he's easy to get along with and a fab host. Liza and him took me to my first CS meeting, and I also had my first experience of riding on the back of a bike! I particularly liked the way he had so much to tell about Utrecht, as well as the many other travels he's had - so would definitely recommend him to anyone.
From Eylem Culculoglu Hilversum, Netherlands Jun 3, 2009 Positive Altough I met him a few times on Utrecht couchsurfing meetings I can say that Peter is a very nice person. He has a real good attitude. It was a pitty to miss his concert on Queens Night :(
From Sam Goutsmit Oostende, Belgium Jun 2, 2009 Positive Jasper and Liza hosted me for 2 days in their cool Utrecht apartment. They were super friendly and had a great couch (and a nice cat to keep you company!).
Next time I may have to bring Jasper even more beer though, in order to blunt his Jungle Speed reflexes :)
Thanks for the great time guys! Next time I'll avoid the "Belgian" pancakes though, they were evil.
From LOVELYSUNDAYMORNINGINTHESUN Stuttgart, Germany May 26, 2009 Positive My lovely boyfriend still remembers the bike tour trough Utrecht! Doorrijden... doorrijden... doorrijden... drive on even if the trafficlights are red...!
You and Liza are lovely together and infected me a bit with couchsurfing
From Kaitlyn Evanko-Douglas Lincoln, United States May 25, 2009 Positive I was really nervous to try couch surfing but Jasper and Liza made us feel comftorable from the beginning. They were super nice and introduced us to a lot of cool people and took us to some awesome festivals. Because of Jasper I can now tell the difference between good beer and bad beer.
From Gwendolyn Reid Munich, Germany May 3, 2009 Positive I slept comfortably in their spare room four nights while I was looking at the beautiful city of Utrecht. He and his lovely girlfriend can throw an awesome Dutch-themed party!
From Daniele Sciretti Barcelona, Spain Apr 30, 2009 Positive Jasper and his girlfriend Liza are definitely "hard core" couchsurfers. We could spend just a few hours together, but thanks to them I've started to see and feel CS much more as a community. Too bad we couldn't spend more time together.
From George McCargar Portland, United States Mar 10, 2009 Positive It was great staying with Jasper and Liza and little Mees. They introduced me to the joys of pannekoeken for dinner and stroopwafel for breakfast!
Jasper's tour-guide impression in the old town was especially convincing.
From FOTOMIEP Groningen, Netherlands Feb 14, 2009 Positive surfed his couch after a rather lastminute request, but he and Liza made me feel welcome anyway. He has a good sense of humour, and is able to have a conversation on many different topics.
From Olivera Kosanovic Belgrade, Serbia Feb 14, 2009 Positive Actually Jasper was the first one who introduced me to the world of couchsurfing! Two years ago when I met him, I notice his incredible desire to explore the world, I think that his energy opened new horizons for me. Jasper is very friendly, talkative, intelligent, full of interesting games and always active! He really knows a lot of historical facts about his town and country. When I stayed at Jaspers and his girlfriend Liza house I felt really welcomed, they dedicated their all day to me, we visited 3 cities in one day which was awesome, thank you for that!
From Andrew McCargar Berlin, Germany Jan 5, 2009 Positive I had a great time hanging out with Jasper and Liza and hearing about Utrecht. He has a fun, creative mind and is just generally a very open, real person. I look forward to visiting you in Holland.
From Veronique Vanonckelen Gent, Belgium Dec 2, 2008 Positive It's not often that you meet a person and that you know from the very first instant that it will work out. I had that feeling with Jasper. He's funny, easygoing, flexible, and always in for a good talk.
I hoop I will see a lot more of him in time, sure that we can become 'real' friends if you give us more than 2 days ^^.
See you in februari Jasper, pls keep the couch warm until then and the events rolling!
Update: He did exactly as I asked and hosted an asian guy so that the couch was nice and warm when I arrived... He even came to Brussels especially for me ;-) :-p...
And he promised to come to Belgium from time to time and organise me a nice birthday party in Utrecht!!!
From Lorraine Sanchez Amsterdam, Netherlands Dec 1, 2008 Positive Somehow he knows Sinterklaas, and was willing to take me to Spain! I'm still waiting for you to come pick me up- my bag is ready :D Anyway- Jasper rocks. I've met him over several meetings but didn't know how much he sparkles till Sinterklaas 2008. He is funny, energetic, and a GREAT dancer! Looking forward to the next Midnight summer event! If you need help- I'm in!
*update- hosted me on my trip back from Vienna! Thanks Jasper!
From ROSSI IN ROTTERDAM Rotterdam, Netherlands Nov 30, 2008 Positive He is the best Piet that Sinterklaas ever could wish for. I love this guy, with or without his make-up;)
Meet him, visit my home town. Jasper is a really nice cool personality, good humor, go meet him, I will:)
From RIS_EZ Terrassa, Spain Nov 19, 2008 Positive We hosted Jasper and Liza just before we left for holidays: he's active, restless and knows many things. Unfortunately we were busy and we'd loved to spend more time with them showing them around, but they did it really well: they even went to a CS meeting in Barcelona.
From -MARTINA- Amersfoort, Netherlands Nov 8, 2008 Positive I got to know Jasper as a very active and communicative couchsurfer who likes bringing people together. One of his specialties is "promoting" also smaller towns in the Netherlands that can be thrilling, interesting and fun places to visit. I am sure he will show you many places through a unique lense when you surf his couch in Utrecht.
From Jami Mauri Järvinen Tampere, Finland Oct 26, 2008 Positive Jasper was very nice to show me a little bit on Utrecht and Rotterdam in very short warning time. Jasper can also recomend exellent beers. Thank you again.
From Shawn VP Toronto, Canada Oct 21, 2008 Positive Jasper is a cool, interesting and funny guy with loads of information and stories stored in his brain for your hearing pleasure!! He could certainly stear you in the right direction for places to go and things to see if you so happened to share his love for typical european cities!
Me and a friend surfed his place for a couple days and it was certainly a nice experience, we met up with he and Liza as well as a bunch of other CS'ers for a beerfestival and it was a great night with great people!
From Jeff and Dennea Lambert Munich, Germany Oct 19, 2008 Positive Jasper and Liza hosted me and a friend for two nights in Utrecht. They are a wonderful couple who are true CSers. We had a great time just wandering the city and taking in the beautiful architecture and scenery. They took us to a Bokbierfestival with other CSers and I'll always remember riding the bicycles back that night. Your always around good people, good music and good times with Jasper and Liza.
From Sascha Stock Berlin, Germany Oct 16, 2008 Positive Jasper and his girlfriend were in Berlin for 3 days, his request was a kind of emergency request coz a friend of him was unreachable. Unfortunally we had not time to show them arround, but we enjoyed the moments with them. It was short to know them well, nevertheless they proved to be good, considerate guests. If you have the chance to host them - take it! Hope to see Jasper and Lisa again in future -maybe in Utrecht, if someone could show me arround in Utrecht - then it will be Jasper, just my 2 cents :)
Regards from the dog, think that she got 2 new friends ;)
From JANA_B_BERLIN Berlin, Germany Oct 16, 2008 Positive What a pitty that you could not stay longer at the event because of hitchiking back the next morning. I think you arrived home safely! I met Jasper and his girlfriend Lisa in Oct. 2008 in Berlin for the Opening of FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS. THANKS to his and Lisa's help I could do some very nice pictures of the water what was lit in a lot of colors in front of the Humboldt University. He protected me and my tripod in the very chaotic crowd full with people, cars and buses. Was it you who spotted the "wrong chancellor" on the balcony of the Operahouse? We biked the tour while others walked. Met on each place, had chats about Berlin and CS-events. Awesome this sit-in at Gendarmenmarkt. I hope you are coming back to Berlin and I'll see you again. Hopefully you can join Berlin WinterCamp? It would be a pleasure to host you and Lisa if your shout is early enaugh. ;-)))
From BARON_HNZ Utrecht, Netherlands Oct 10, 2008 Positive First time i met Jasper, he was Inspector Leclou. Although he didn't kill me himself, it was his force behind the three bullets that killed me. :D
But in reallife he is a really nice and funny guy. He knows a lot about geography and cooking and he is more then a pleasant host. I had a lot of fun at Liza & Jaspers home and it was also a nice place to just lay back and relax. And you have to visit a concert of his Skaband Stampede, they are awesome! :D
See you around in Utrecht!
From Anneke Van Kuyk Bowen, Australia Sep 29, 2008 Positive Does this man ever stop? I think couch surfing is his full time job!?
From Francine Aarts Utrecht, Netherlands Sep 28, 2008 Positive Dear Inspector LeClou, I am very grateful that you helped me to break free from Mr X. You have proven to be very trustworthy and I respect you for that.
I am looking forward to seeing you again in Paris or Utrecht, but hopefully in somewhat less hectic situations.
Thankfully yours,
Mme Ctesse A. DeVille
From Emilia Varmavuori Jyvaskyla, Finland Sep 28, 2008 Positive Great, active couchsurfer, good company, hope we'll meet again soon :>
From Eveline van Velthuijsen Utrecht, Netherlands Sep 26, 2008 Positive I met Jasper at so many cs events, im not sure how many. Jasper is a great guy. Always in for a laugh and a really good musician!
From Floris Rosenbrand Wognum, Netherlands Sep 23, 2008 Positive I met Jasper for the first time at the CS Monty Python meeting he had organised. I stayed with them overnight because the Monty Python meeting was a success and was kept on until the late hours of the night.
And because he invited and introduced me to the CS "scene" that evening I got more active on CS and more or less haven't left Utrecht ever since. Thank you for the introduction.
He is very friendly, hospitable and a relaxed person and we have somethings in common like a fondness for Monty Python and geography. Although he knows much more about geography then I do, but to be fare it's his occupation :-) I haven't heard him play live yet, but what I heard online he is a good musician.
From Wessel Wensink Utrecht, Netherlands Sep 13, 2008 Positive Man of the earth!Knows his planet and one of the most active guys on CS in Utreg.Helps where he can!
From Jo Steeghs Utrecht, Netherlands Sep 10, 2008 Positive Jasper is a great ambassador for both Utrecht as a place and couchsurfing as an organisation. He loves to meet new people and has a wealth of knowledge he is more than happy to share. His openness and energy for couchsurfing are an inspiration for me.
From STEFF Toulouse, France Sep 7, 2008 Positive I hosted Jasper and Lisa for a single night in Toulouse this summer - and wish they had stayed longer! It was short to know them well, nevertheless they proved to be good, considerate guests and nice company. We mostly shared diner and talked. I enjoyed chatting with them and I look forward to meeting up again, wherever that may be :)
