Jasper is a fantastic host, he knows very much about the history of Utrecht and is a very entertaining guide through this wonderful city. He is also a wonderful cook, knows where to get the best food and if you want to buy some beer or dutch cheese - jasper is a great advisor.

Unfortunately I didn't have much time when I stayed in Utrecht, but was glad that Jasper and Liza hosted me anyway. They have a lovely colourful house, cat Mees is quiet and cute, and the CS-attic is small but cozy. I hope next time we can talk more and who knows? - maybe Stampede will come to Münster one day. Would be really cool. :)

I thank Jasper and Liza by showing their adaptability by hosting me on such a short notice! It was a nice ending after a great Monthly Meeting in Utrecht that night. Too bad that Jasper and I could not talk much since he had to go to work that early the following day.

After seeing jasper on so many events and feeling inspired by the way he always seems to make awesome events. i finnaly got to host him during the arnhem calling. its also nice to know that we share the same beer taste :) i should really bring you to the moordgat one day i think you would love it. on a sidenote i don't bite its all lies !!!

Jasper and Liza hosted me and my brother for a one day. They make up a great couple. Both of them are open-minded and eager to answer all your questions about the city. We had a really nice evening getting in touch with the Dutch cabaret and music.

Really loved to talk with you about the games you're designing and hopefully I will be able to play one of them in the near future !!!

Jasper is one of the pillars of the Utrecht CS community. He and Liza are often organizing and/or hosting events for the Utrecht community and are always eager to open their doors to new people in the true CS spirit. Jasper is passionate and knowledgeable about Utrecht and is always keen to share this information with travelers or even educate locals about their own city! He's got a good sense of humor and is fully aware of the idiosyncrasies of the dutch people. He's is also a kick ass bass player so you should go see his band when you get a chance!

Jasper had the good idea to organize an event at his place while I was around, so I joined his "Pythonight II" evening and couchsurfed in his place on that night. I was glad that he took some time to introduce me to the Monty Python, even though I was the only non-Dutch speaker and the only Monty Python absolute beginner in the crowd. It just confirmed the feeling I had while reading his profile, that he has a real interest in his hosts or guests.
See you probably at some next events. I liked Flying Circus a lot by the way.

Jasper and Liza hosted me after the Bockbierfestival event. They're very friendly and really enthusiastic couchsurfers. Too bad I had to leave early in the morning to travel to the next cs event. Next time I definitely want to play some of their many board games (and have another special beer)!

I was staying at Jaspers and Lizas place in Utrecht for a nice weekend to explore a bit more of Netherlands. And I really liked it!

Jasper is so passionate in what he is doing. His own invented archaeology table game (it's a pity that I didn't manage to try to play it..), his geography teachers job, his historical stories about Utrecht etc..

Hope we will meet up again somewhere sometime.. :)

I contacted Jasper as we had been working together on a number of CS groups. Jasper and Liza are such wonderful hosts – easy-going, laid back and very welcoming. It was really easy to relax in their place.
Jasper made sure that we had a full programme when I was in Utrecht and I was great to meet all the Couchsurfers there.
I really enjoyed my stay with them and highly recommend them as hosts. Wish I had more time to spend with them but I am sure we will meet again.

Jasper was a very good host. He told me and my friends a lot about Utrecht and the Kingdom of the Netherlands ( say "Holland" and he's gonna kill you right away xD ). He also played us some Dutch music, which was really astonishing. He was patient enought to have us even though at a certain point he got ill. Thanks!

 

I stayed at Jasper and Liza's house after a CS picnic and outing at Ekko, a local club in Utrecht. They were great company and showed me and a friend around town a bit. Oh, and they have a beautiful and lovely cat! :)

Jasper and his girlfriend Lisa are full of honest kindness. It's great to see, and better yet, they're chalk full of conversation. It was great having Jasper show me around town - he knew so much of the history, and had hilarious stories that other locals have forgotten. Thanks Jasper, it was quality meeting you.

He was my good guess and easily adapt himself to the local type. Good conversation partner...Real Good travellor.

 

I was also hosted by Jasper, Liza and Mees during the Middersommernight week-end. It was nice to finally meet him after interacting passionately about CS Wiki in groups. I consider myself lucky - the couch was comfy, the hosts are cozy and Mees is.. a cat :) The ambiance at his place was nice, with a lot of guests around, and even if I went to sleep quite early I wasn't bothered at all. Thanks for this fantastic week-end!

 

Jasper and his girlfriend were great to have over for the week. They were a lot of fun and had a great attitude about traveling. We hope to meet up with them again some time.

 

Board game fantaic and totally devoted CSer, Jasper is a great host. He's pretty intense, but in a good way; it gives him a lot of energy for couchsurfing and he uses it wisely to create awesome things. I very much recommend you to meet this cool, funny and people-loving guy.

Staying at Jasper's was really good - he's easy to get along with and a fab host. Liza and him took me to my first CS meeting, and I also had my first experience of riding on the back of a bike! I particularly liked the way he had so much to tell about Utrecht, as well as the many other travels he's had - so would definitely recommend him to anyone.

 

Altough I met him a few times on Utrecht couchsurfing meetings I can say that Peter is a very nice person. He has a real good attitude. It was a pitty to miss his concert on Queens Night :(

 

Jasper and Liza hosted me for 2 days in their cool Utrecht apartment. They were super friendly and had a great couch (and a nice cat to keep you company!).

Next time I may have to bring Jasper even more beer though, in order to blunt his Jungle Speed reflexes :)

I was really nervous to try couch surfing but Jasper and Liza made us feel comftorable from the beginning. They were super nice and introduced us to a lot of cool people and took us to some awesome festivals. Because of Jasper I can now tell the difference between good beer and bad beer.

I slept comfortably in their spare room four nights while I was looking at the beautiful city of Utrecht. He and his lovely girlfriend can throw an awesome Dutch-themed party!

Jasper and his girlfriend Liza are definitely "hard core" couchsurfers. We could spend just a few hours together, but thanks to them I've started to see and feel CS much more as a community. Too bad we couldn't spend more time together.

It was great staying with Jasper and Liza and little Mees. They introduced me to the joys of pannekoeken for dinner and stroopwafel for breakfast!

Actually Jasper was the first one who introduced me to the world of couchsurfing! Two years ago when I met him, I notice his incredible desire to explore the world, I think that his energy opened new horizons for me. Jasper is very friendly, talkative, intelligent, full of interesting games and always active! He really knows a lot of historical facts about his town and country. When I stayed at Jaspers and his girlfriend Liza house I felt really welcomed, they dedicated their all day to me, we visited 3 cities in one day which was awesome, thank you for that!

I had a great time hanging out with Jasper and Liza and hearing about Utrecht. He has a fun, creative mind and is just generally a very open, real person. I look forward to visiting you in Holland.

It's not often that you meet a person and that you know from the very first instant that it will work out. I had that feeling with Jasper. He's funny, easygoing, flexible, and always in for a good talk.
I hoop I will see a lot more of him in time, sure that we can become 'real' friends if you give us more than 2 days ^^.

Update: He did exactly as I asked and hosted an asian guy so that the couch was nice and warm when I arrived... He even came to Brussels especially for me ;-) :-p...

Somehow he knows Sinterklaas, and was willing to take me to Spain! I'm still waiting for you to come pick me up- my bag is ready :D Anyway- Jasper rocks. We hosted Jasper and Liza just before we left for holidays: he's active, restless and knows many things. Unfortunately we were busy and we'd loved to spend more time with them showing them around, but they did it really well: they even went to a CS meeting in Barcelona.

I got to know Jasper as a very active and communicative couchsurfer who likes bringing people together. One of his specialties is "promoting" also smaller towns in the Netherlands that can be thrilling, interesting and fun places to visit. I am sure he will show you many places through a unique lense when you surf his couch in Utrecht.

 

Jasper was very nice to show me a little bit on Utrecht and Rotterdam in very short warning time. Jasper can also recomend exellent beers. Thank you again.

Jasper is a cool, interesting and funny guy with loads of information and stories stored in his brain for your hearing pleasure!! He could certainly stear you in the right direction for places to go and things to see if you so happened to share his love for typical european cities!

Me and a friend surfed his place for a couple days and it was certainly a nice experience, we met up with he and Liza as well as a bunch of other CS'ers for a beerfestival and it was a great night with great people!

 

Jasper and Liza hosted me and a friend for two nights in Utrecht. They are a wonderful couple who are true CSers. We had a great time just wandering the city and taking in the beautiful architecture and scenery. They took us to a Bokbierfestival with other CSers and I'll always remember riding the bicycles back that night. Your always around good people, good music and good times with Jasper and Liza.

Jasper and his girlfriend were in Berlin for 3 days, his request was a kind of emergency request coz a friend of him was unreachable. Unfortunally we had not time to show them arround, but we enjoyed the moments with them. It was short to know them well, nevertheless they proved to be good, considerate guests. If you have the chance to host them - take it! Hope to see Jasper and Lisa again in future -maybe in Utrecht, if someone could show me arround in Utrecht - then it will be Jasper, just my 2 cents :)

What a pitty that you could not stay longer at the event because of hitchiking back the next morning. I think you arrived home safely! I met Jasper and his girlfriend Lisa in Oct. 2008 in Berlin for the Opening of FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS. THANKS to his and Lisa's help I could do some very nice pictures of the water what was lit in a lot of colors in front of the Humboldt University. He protected me and my tripod in the very chaotic crowd full with people, cars and buses. Was it you who spotted the "wrong chancellor" on the balcony of the Operahouse? We biked the tour while others walked. Met on each place, had chats about Berlin and CS-events. Awesome this sit-in at Gendarmenmarkt. I hope you are coming back to Berlin and I'll see you again. Hopefully you can join Berlin WinterCamp? It would be a pleasure to host you and Lisa if your shout is early enaugh. ;-)))

First time i met Jasper, he was Inspector Leclou. Although he didn't kill me himself, it was his force behind the three bullets that killed me. :D

But in reallife he is a really nice and funny guy. He knows a lot about geography and cooking and he is more then a pleasant host. I had a lot of fun at Liza & Jaspers home and it was also a nice place to just lay back and relax. And you have to visit a concert of his Skaband Stampede, they are awesome! :D

The first time I met Jasper he lied to me... That was in a game though, and this case has been solved by now. Thereafter I met him several times during several meetings in Utrecht, like cooking and eating tapas, organizing and performing a music quiz and joining the gigswap in Utrechts centre. He's always a good conversation-partner! I'll see hime some more, and I'm looking forward to it!

I met Jasper at so many cs events, im not sure how many. Jasper is a great guy. Always in for a laugh and a really good musician!

 

I met Jasper for the first time at the CS Monty Python meeting he had organised. I stayed with them overnight because the Monty Python meeting was a success and was kept on until the late hours of the night.

And because he invited and introduced me to the CS "scene" that evening I got more active on CS and more or less haven't left Utrecht ever since. Thank you for the introduction.

He is very friendly, hospitable and a relaxed person and we have somethings in common like a fondness for Monty Python and geography. Although he knows much more about geography then I do, but to be fare it's his occupation :-) I haven't heard him play live yet, but what I heard online he is a good musician.

Man of the earth!Knows his planet and one of the most active guys on CS in Utreg.Helps where he can!

Jasper is a great ambassador for both Utrecht as a place and couchsurfing as an organisation. He loves to meet new people and has a wealth of knowledge he is more than happy to share. His openness and energy for couchsurfing are an inspiration for me.

 

I hosted Jasper and Lisa for a single night in Toulouse this summer - and wish they had stayed longer! It was short to know them well, nevertheless they proved to be good, considerate guests and nice company. We mostly shared diner and talked. I enjoyed chatting with them and I look forward to meeting up again, wherever that may be :)

Jasper seems to be a practical, open, Dutch person and a reliable Ambassador. I think CS Utrecht is in good hands!

Jasper himself sometimes resembles a storm, busy with sixteen and more things mixing them up in a likeble way. Other times, he is more relaxed but still passionately speaking about whichever subject, geograpy, music, the world in general.
His place is great. Jasper shows how things go about and trusted me that I could get around.

Jasper came with Marianne's (MACHITA) good reference, enough to say, i only checked out his profile out of curiosity.

He is an excellent guest that understood and didnt mind my busy life. Anyway i tried to spend some time during 2 afternoon with him and had fun and cool conversations... really great guy and a good example of how to use and enjoy CS!

I met Jasper first thru the Madrid's group, then we just exchanged few messages and at the end we had the chance to meet in one of our meetings in Madrid and it was a pleasure to meet him and Liza. I can say that Jasper is very talkative, smiling guy and full of stories although Jasper and Liza had a small problem in Madrid, they never stoped to smile. It was really nice and interesting to meet them. Always welcome to Madrid

 

Jasper comes to Barcelona, and share some of his time with us, and let us enjoy good time with his presence! Know that if you never come back to Barcelona you will be welcome!

Hosting this couple, was the easiest for me, getting to know them, was difficult because I just met them for a day, but they are trully the CS spirit, they were a charming and well-behaved, respectful couple ever to visit my place.

Both Jasper and Liza were very nice to me on my first day in the Netherlands. They are both very gracious and I enjoyed my first meeting in Utrecht! I look forward to hopefully going to more meetings and seeing them there! Great first experience overall!

Jasper is an enthousistic friendly guy, always a smile on! If you like board games then he is the one you should talk to. I guess we'll meet at the next gathering...And what a gathering! Midsummernight in Utrecht was the best of all and even though Jasper and Liza were running all over the place to organize and make sure all went well, we enjoyed their company. They hosted us and they made sure we felt at home. Incredible couple!

 

Jasper & Lisa are the greatest CS Host ever! We had a great time surfing their couch. Few times have one the opportunity to meet such a nice and friendly couple, who welcomes you not only in their house with other several CS but organize also a big party in the city! Jasper is a friendly and interesting guy, who seems to be always ready to help couchsurfers (or anyone else) out. I know him for his fantastic work as one of the organizers of the 2008 Midsummer night in the park where he and the rest did a great job, as well as at the Utrecht Monthly meetings, and of course he has ties to our local Leiden community (for now) as he works here in Leiden

 

Jasper is very good company to talk with! He's active with his job as an Amb and I think he's doing a good job in it!

Liza and Jasper have a beautiful new home that they kindly invited me into so I could revisit the awesome city I studied abroad at two years ago! They are very easy-going and comfortable people to be around, both doing great work through their normal jobs and volunteering projects! Jasper and his girlfriend made me feel very welcome at my first gathering with surfers from Utrecht. They both are very involved in the project and put a lot of effort to it. They are very friendly, relaxed and humoristic people. And of course Jasper made me aware of the existence of the allready legendary Alex Siegers, for which i am very grateful to him :-D

Jasper is really enthusiast about the things he does: making music, teach other people about geografical things and so much more. He really wants to spread his 'know how' about these things: born teacher.

 

Evereybody knows Jasper. Although he does not act like it, he surely is the king of couchsurfing Utrecht. He organizes too many great things. And besides that he is just a nice person to be with.

I had the pleasure to be almost the first guest at Jasper's new house :D It was short but fantastic stay. As we left early in the morning we even didn't manage to say thank you for your hospitality and showing the city so here goes my huge thanks :)

An optimistic, open minded guy! It was really fun to spend an afternoon with him walking around the streets of Utrecht and (thanks to him!) getting to now the city, then to party during QueensNight together and eventually to surf his couch in a beautiful house he and her girlfriend have. I was happy to finally meet Jasper at the Friday Food Fun in Rotterdam after seeing his name over and over again in groups and other CS related pages. The guy is very talkative and we were having a good time from the start. Looking forward to probably seeing him again on April 29 in Utrecht.

In my fisrt trip away from home alone, I was sleeping in his coach, we didn't know anything about this web site, but we did that and is a great experience, thats the reason why i'm here and the experience is the reason why i'm travelling arround the world. that was great, so i did that again and again and again...

Jasper and I had some lively conversations. He forms a good ambassador's couple with Liza. Jasper is a very active and enthusiastic person. He is involved in CS, plays in a musicband and teaches kids about useful stuff in life.

Jasper kindly opened up his home to a bunch of CouchSurfers for a post-meeting dinner. This was my first encounter with the community and he couldn't have made me feel more welcome. I had a great time and it turned me onto Couchsurfing!

Jasper is a very friendly guy. He's really into couchsuring and has hosted many people in the past.

 

Jasper is involved in organising the Utrecht CS meetings, he also joined the GigSwap group I started and moderate. He is a open and friendly outgoing guy, he introduced me to some other great people I got along with fine aswell.

Jesper is one of the core ppl for Utrecht CS and great to talk to.

 

Jasper is interested in a lot of things and he is very passionate about them, so I really enjoyed talking with him. I look forward to having him show Utrech to me! Must be fun!

 

Couchsurfing Utrecht = Jasper & Liza. You should meet those two. I am so glad that I know them through CS! They are the most passionate CSers I ever met. They will let you feel as if you were in your home town. Check also the Utrechtmeetings, they will be there!

I stayed at Jasper's for two nights. It was great because I had the chance of meeting REALLY kind and cool people. I hoped he enjoyed and wont get any fallout from the Mont d'Or cheese I left in his fridge !
His place is warm and agreable and I liked sharing their room. Too bad they had a hectic schedule (and me too actually). I think I must delve deeper into the utrecht CS comunity since meeting Jasper. THANKS again.

Well Jasper, of course you already have to many references to read, but I know you for quite some time now so I feel I should leave a reference anyway.

I was his guest with my boyfriend. We had very nice time and had a lot of fun at Jasper place. He showed us the simulation of the flood in the Netherlands..scary :) Well this geographer is so nice, funny person and good cook. He and his girlfriend are very positive and open people. Definitely I can recomande him.

What can I say, Jasper is a really nice guy! He and Liza organize most (all) of the CS-Utrecht meetings, so the rest of us lazy people just need show up.
He also knows a lot about Utrecht and its history. More meetings will follow, with interesting conversations and would love to learn more about the city that i now call home.

Jasper gave us a place to stay in very short notice. We wanted to go on the CS meeting and he generously offered us a couch in return for making a CS meeting a success.
He is a person with wast knowledge and kindly told us a short history of Nederland. Would be great if we had more time to exchange ideas and knowledge.♠

 

I know Jasper as a very social and openminded person. He is very caring (especially for me ;-). Furthermore he is a great cook and with his love for old cities and buildings you have a great guide at your fingertips to show you around in Utrecht!

Jasper is a really lovely guy, with a real enthusiasm for his city. he can also quote most of monty python - which i think is pretty impressive.

Jasper is always smiling, telling interesting and also funny story (toe-in an hostel to have a shower when you camp at sziget !) he knows a lot about music, he convinced me to see TOOL on stage even though I was a fan of that kind of music and I like that ! Thanks jasper !

We Have been both active at Dwars, which is the youth organisation of the Green Party in NL, fighting (in a peaceful way) for our ideals, dong campaigns and all sorts of activities. I am happy to find one of my former colleagues here on CS.
We have met a lot of times, but for the moment will not meet again, as we are a bit far away from each other.

we met in leiden last week. jasper is one of the guys you always like to hang out with!!!

Casper is a genuine nice guy. He is the first ever couchsurfing guest that slept in my house. Thanks to him I can wholeheartedly say I'm positive about this couchsurfing concept. It was a good experience and it makes me more determinded in the dicision of planning my very one and first couchdurfing trip one day....

Jasper's the first host I ever had and I'm so glad for it because I've felt so welcome from the both of them! I got an insider's view on the beautiful city of Utrecht from him and Liza (and a good time at the CS meeting)and you should definitely convince him to give you a ride on the back of an authentic Dutch bike hehehe...

Jasper is ridiculously easy to talk to and also has lots of interesting and hilarious things to say. This guy knows his Monty Python. I really enjoyed his and Liza's company. Jasper also had the best music recommendations at Sziget!

 

jasper and liza are great surfers with the right spirit. its a pity that i didn't have more time for them (had to work a lot the days they stayed at my place) but i would love to meet them again.

We had a lot of fun at Sziget 2007 and besides that he and Liza introduced us to several funny games. It might not always be easy to follow his quite accelerated English but it's worth trying it ;)
Update: finally went to Utrecht for his and Lizas birthday party and we really had a great time. He showed us around in the City and we went for more than 10 kilometers (10.4 according to the GPS after track cleanup :) ) in partly bad weather, and got a whole lot of information, pictures, bitterboella etc. :)

I recommend Jasper to everybody. Open-minded, relaxed and also a nice person. We got on very well and had a fun evening out with interesting conversations.

Easygoing, relaxed, and polite, Jasper is a perfect guest. Interested in diverse thingz, books, movies, geography, culture and music especialy, listener and talker he is a great guy to talk to also. Fare forward my friend Ska enthusiast! P.S. if U have opportunity go to the concert of his band :P

I have got to know Jasper in Utrecht, where I was in one international volunteer camp. He and Liza were just a cute couple and Jasper is a great guide (also in Amsterdam). He has a good taste of humour, movies and clubs...; )

JAsper is just great!:) Warm, welcoming, friendly, fun, musical, smart, can hold inspiring conversations about travel, education, music, anything! I really enjoyed the times we spent together, and would be delighted if we meet again someday (I managed to acquire a very specail bar glass from Tallinn to give to you - wheather or not it will survive the journey remains to be seen, but if it does, it is all yours my friend!;)

Jasper is a great, socially involved person and also bassplayer in a terrific ska band.

Jasper is a wonderful host who is more than willing to answer any questions that you might have about his city. He is very polite and welcoming. I had a wonderful time and visit thanks to Jasper and Liza.

jasper and liza are wonderful! i love you guys! the best people in holland, you gave me such a ska holiday, taught me to *not* fall off the back of the bike, and i really DID enjoy melding with the room...
